"Jess, come on the coffee won't pour itself"
And so his thoughts stopped as he hurried downstairs to meet the overly cheery crowd of Stars Hollow. Having lived there for some months he realized some people: Kirk, Taylor, Miss Patty, surprisingly Sookie and Jackson (but he figured they most be saying goodbye before they left for their honeymoon), and last but definitely not least the Gilmore girls.
He decided in his head that he would put them off till last, hoping that Luke would serve them first. He didn't want to face either one of them today not after what happened yesterday. But it didn't matter if he never talked to her all morning, he knew she was there; he could feel it.
"Jess" she said
And as tempted as he was to turn around and face her, he couldn't so he went up to Kirk.
"What can I get you?"
She felt hurt and she knew her mom could see it. Why wouldn't he look at her, talk to her? Well, I mean, she knew why he wouldn't. Because she had kissed him, she Rory Gilmore Miss Perfect had kissed Jess Mariano Mr. Rebel. She didn't really know why she did it, maybe she was just welcoming him back, but then again she knew that was a lie. So why did she? Whatever the reason she had to get out of here.
"Mom, I'm gonna go see Lane"
"Okay see ya later Hunny, love ya"
"Yeah you too Mom, bye"
He watched her leave and wondered if maybe he was having the same effect on her that she was having on him. Maybe he should follow her, but he couldn't Luke would kill him and he had just gotten back. I'll try to talk to her soon, he told himself, once I work up some courage.
