Harry Potter
Chapter 1: When It Rains…The wind outside Number Two Privet Drive howled. The only sound audible above the wind was the loud snoring emitting from the two large Dursley men. A boy lay still on his bed. It would seem he was sleeping if not for his bright green eyes. The eyes he had inherited from his mother. The boy, who looked no older than seventeen, was starring up at the ceiling at the moment; listening to the mixed sound of the storm and his relatives, asleep in their rooms.
The boy pushed aside his untidy black hair to reveal a lightning shaped scar. The scar, which may seem ugly to some, holds a famous history. The boy who is no ordinary boy, though at times wishes he was, is in fact a wizard. Hard as it is to imagine, even for the boy himself, he is indeed a wizard. And according to wizarding standards the boy is also no ordinary wizard. This boy is none other than the famous Harry Potter.
Harry Potter shifted in his bed. He was now facing his wall, which was adorned with a calendar he had made in order to count down the days until his return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The calendar showed that there was one week till he would return. A week until he would be rid of his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, his mother's only sister, and his merciless cousin, Dudley.
In a week Harry would join his two best friends at Kings Cross Station, where they will meet their train on platform nine and three quarters. Harry met his two best friends in his first year at Hogwarts. Ron Weasley had introduced himself to Harry after he had found no empty carts on the train. Harry having been raised by muggles was intrigued by Ron. He listened intently while Ron told about growing up with magic. From the start they were friends.
Harry and Ron instantly disliked Hermione Granger. She came off rather bossy. She was a real pain and it wasn't until they rescued her from a troll, whom they accidentally locked in the girl's bathroom with her, that they became friends. The three were inseparable.
Harry looked out the window than to his alarm clock, which sat on his desk next to an empty cage. The cage usually housed a snowy owl named Hedwig but she was out hunting in the storm. Harry picked up a pen from his desk and marked off another day.
As time passed and the storm subsided sounds of the Dursleys awakening could be heard. Hedwig had returned and was now sleeping in her cage. After hearing the last Dursley finish taking a shower he headed to the bathroom where he brushed his teeth and showered. He watched his reflection in the mirror as it brushed its teeth. As he finished he quickly pushed away any idea of trying to tame his unkempt hair.
Harry headed down stairs ready to start another day, which would bring him, closer to leaving.
