I know hunger, its selfish and wolfish way, how it turns you inside and out, how it demands everything and grieves nothing. Hunger is the least servile, tameable thing in this world and it makes monsters out of us all. The hunger in Maven's eyes is not the same brand of hunger as mine, but an echo of it - Rated M for a reason, set in Glass Sword.

When Mare finds herself returning back to the castle where Cal rules as King, she finds a completely different world and environment surrounding her. From Cal's new mysterious fiancé to Maven's increased obsessions with her, she must find clarity amongst so much darkness. But, the most difficult question she must face, is to find her way back to the one she's destined to be with.

This is how I wish Red Queen would have happened. AU where Mare chooses Maven at the end of the first book.

Set during War Storm, when the Lakelanders trade Maven off and he becomes Cal's prisoner. On the plane back to Montfort, Cal decides he needs answers. He confronts Maven by himself, speaking to his brother alone for the first time since the betrayal. Cal thinks he knows what to expect, but Maven is scared and angry and the conversation doesn't go as planned...

Basically this is the story of the Red Queen except with an added character. I own nothing, and all props go to Victoria Aveyard, for creating this world that I love so much!
