I am a huge fan of Thorin Oakenshield's character and really wanted to change his story. I chose to take the Greek mythology figure of Heracles and place him in Middle Earth during the Battle of the Five Armies as an ally to Thorin. All rights go to Tolkien for his characters and setting.
