After Ciel become's a demon, he and Sebastian's odd relationship is destroyed. Ciel spends his days thinking of ways to fix the situation. What he finds out is that the contract is invalid. After realizing this, he releases Sebastian. But the elder demon decides not to leave this defenseless fledgling on his own.

Running from what he can't yet face, Ciel focuses on what he can: getting to the surface. There he'll do his best to find his once-fiance, complete his first contract, and find the Silver Shinigami who may have the answers to his fears about the Mackens.
