Starsky and Hutch have been partners for five months. The death of a former army buddy and a homicide case where the victim is a homeless 'Nam veteran stirs up a raft of emotions for Starsky. With Hutch at his side, will he be able to negotiate the emotional turmoil created and solve the case?

With both of their moms visiting for Mother's Day, Starsky and Hutch have to find the perfect gifts for them. But the beautiful music boxes they decide to purchase were never intended for sale, and now the mobster who expected to take possession will do anything to get them back.

"C'mon, Hutch," Starsky begged. "That's the eighth family you've seen, and you didn't like any of them!" "I have to find just the right family. Salvador won't be happy with just anybody." Hutch stroked the white and black spotted fur affectionately as his eyes met the dog's. "He saved my life, Starsk. More than once. I owe him at least a good home."

Hutch's annual physical gives him cause for concern. Should he tell Starsky... or wait for results?

During the episode, Black and Blue, Hutch's recovery from his gunshot wound is complicated by his concerns over Starsky's interest in Joan Meredith, his temporary partner.

As the boys return from a vacation in Mexico, their car breaks down while they're in a remote area. An unexpected run-in with a man Hutch had arrested in the past, leaves them without guns, badges, or IDs. So when they're picked up as drifters by corrupt guards from a local prison farm, they soon find themselves incarcerated.

As Starsky faces another Christmas with a less-than-cheerful Hutch, he decides to get to the bottom of Hutch's anti-Christmas sentiment.

Starsky made a few promises when he was trapped with Hutch and Joey in the tinderbox barn. Would he be able to keep an important one during his recovery?

When a number of homeless men are killed, Starsky and Hutch decide the only way to find the killers is to go undercover. However, the man behind the murders has other ideas how to handle their interference.

While Starsky is recovering from the hit at the Italian restaurant, Hutch is paired with a temporary partner. When violence strikes again, Hutch is left with a crisis in faith of his own abilities to not just serve but to protect.

When Starsky wins a free vacation in Atlantic City, he drags a reluctant Hutch along for a few days of nightclubbing, gambling, and fun. But when Hutch disappears without a trace, and no one can find any evidence that Hutch had ever traveled with Starsky, the trip becomes the vacation from hell.
