When Katara finds herself separated from her brother and Aang, she finds herself alone in the Earth Kingdom desert. The last person she expects to encounter is Prince Zuko. But with him no longer pursuing the Avatar and with her in need of help to locate her friends, the two of them form a tenuous alliance.

After Azula wounds Iroh in the three way battle between Azula, the avatar gang and Zuko. Zuko screams at the gang that they should leave them alone. But this time. The gang stands their ground. They are unable to just run away when someone clearly needs their help. Even if that person is their enemy.

Mai and Ty Lee's time at Boiling Rock. They befriend Kyoshi Warriors, meet Water Tribe war prisoners and learn the war is wrong. Platonic Mai and Ty Lee friendship. Mai centric. Mai/Zuko references.
