Maka was uncomfortable to say the least. She hated parties and had grudgingly agreed (more like been forced) to attend instead of staying home in her warm bed. Yes she detested parties such as this, especially on New Years Eve.

Soul is distraught to learn that (Male) Crona is interested in Maka, and mortified when Black*Star, Kid, and their weapons pitch in to help him woo her. As a new threat begins eating at the DWMA from within, the bonds of weapon and meister will be tested to their limit- and Soul might not be able to stay cool under all of this pressure.

Listening to the couple in the living room, Soul really wanted to just rest his head on the counter and pour the tea into his one ear so that it came out the other and seared away all of their conversation. Soul knew that Kid had been paying Maka special attention recently, but he hadn't expected the shinigami to be so bold. Suddenly Soul felt like he would be seeing a lot of Kid.
