A sick Genda is a grumpy Genda. Good thing Sakuma is there for him.

After the match to choose the Inazuma Japan members, something was wrong with Genda, Sakuma could tell, what with how he disappeared without an explanation after practice and came back the next day with bruises he couldn't explain. He was determined to find out what was going on.

It's the first time that Genda looks at himself in the mirror after the match that he really looks at them. The two scars are thin and jagged, running over his right eye and stopping at his cheekbone.Every time he sees himself in the mirror, Genda stubbornly tries to pull his hair over his eye, like that can be enough to hide those scars and shove the pain in a forgotten corner of

Shirou left the team to recover from his injury. That was all the rest of Inazuma Japan knew, and as far as Atsuya was concerned, it was all they needed to know. They didn't need to know that Shirou betrayed them, that he wasn't even sure he knew his own brother anymore. It all goes to hell when the match against Russia starts.
