Summary:

Mal gets sick but when ignoring her health does not work she has to deal with the fact that being sick in Auradon is a whole lot different than on the island.

This takes place right after the first movie.

I don't own Descendants!

It was a normal school day in Auradon.

But when Mal woke up she already hated de day. Her head was spinning, and her stomach was feeling like crap as well. Plus, it felt like she had been eating dirt in her sleep because she had a terrible taste in her mouth. Mal looked around to see that she was alone in the room. Evie was probably taking a shower. She has been so happy about that, it was not that easy on the isle to get a clean and warm shower so.

Mal pulled herself out of the bed and dragged herself to the mirror… How irritating, her face looked paler than normal and the dark circles underneath her eyes didn't help eider. Yeah staying up late talking with Jay and drawing would do that. But the worst was the ache in her head that wouldn't stop pounding. Well … I'll just throw some makeup from Evie or whatever on my face and nobody will notice.

Next, she picks out some clothes.
She went for a tight black shirt with long sleeves (made of very soft and comfy material.) A dark purple leather jacket, pants, and a pair of boots.

After getting dressed she went to get some breakfast. She didn't wait on her blue-haired roommate.
Evie always took a long time to get ready. And you know she and E were close but it was not like they were glued together or something.

Mal didn't really felt like eating but people would notice her absence. What would lead to questions, and she was not planning to let anyone get specious of her. And notice she was not feeling 100%. So she just tried to be as unnoticed as possible.
So she made her way downstairs. Her movements were kind of slow but no one was going to notice that.

Once she arrived at the cafeteria she got some food (not much) and joined Jay and Carlos.
Where the boys were having a headed conversation.

J: "Dude a saw it… A horse is huge! I thought it would be like a dog maybe a little bigger, but it is like 2 times bigger than you."

C: "Haha, very funny Jay, still making jokes over my length. It can't be thaaaat big."

J: "Hey, Mal. have you seen a horse?"

M: "No, I didn't."

J: "Oh, but I am serious Carlos it's big"

While the boys continued with there conversation Mal tried to eat a little, but soon stopped when she felt that her stomach didn't agree with that choice.
She pushed her plate away. It hurt her to do so. On the Isle, you never ever waste or turn away from good food.
But taking the food with her was going to attract a lot of weird looks.

After a little while, Evie and Ben joined them.

B: "Hey, Mal are you already done eating?" Ben asked
"…. Maaal?"

M: "Hu?"

B: "I asked if you're already done eating?"

M: "yeah, I was hungry so I ate fast. "(she lied)

B: "Ow … Hey, wanna do something after school today?"

M: "Yeah sure..."

B: "Are you thinking about something?" Ben asked in a sweet tone.

Mal got a minor shock. What? Did he notice something?
This question got the attention of the other Vk's.

M: "No why," She asked with a little forced smile.

B: "Well you looked kind of... far away, as in deep thought"

M: "Oh, it's nothing don't worry about it," Mal said

She can't let him know how she truly felt. Can't make myself an easy target. She knew that being sick is weak and being weak is easy to beat which makes an easy target which makes surviving impossible.
That just how it is. That's just the way everyone on the isle has been raised. And not to forget Mal is Maleficent's daughter being weak was noooo option. She was not planning on being sick, nowp not going to happen. Besides I've been through waaay worse she thought by her self.

First up Mal had chemistry class.
Not that she was paying any attention.
Neither did Jay who was in that class to, he was just staring out the window on the football field.
Jeane was answering most of the questions anyway. which gave most people an opportunity to not be alert
The teacher even had to stop his lecture to ask Audry if she would stop doing her makeup in class…

Mal was holding her head up with one hand and was just starring in the distance.
Her head had started pounding and after a while the room was spinning a bit. And on top of that, her stomach was being mad at her for no good reason.

Thowards the end of chemistry Mal found trouble keeping her eyes open. It was like someone was pulling her eyelids closed. And without knowing she slowly started to dose off…

...

"Teacher: MAL can you tell me how many gallons of 3% acid should be mixt with a 10 gallon of 12% acid?"

Mal's eyes shot open. Shit she had dosed off.
"…huh… uim, I don't know a little bit." Mal said

"Mal I would appreciate it if you'd stay awake during my class."

But the reason Mal's eyes were closed in the first place was to stop the room from spinning and hopefully stop the pounding in her head.
But now people were staring at her because of what the teacher said. BUT she could not let anyone know that she wasn't feeling good… She had to do something about that.

Mal: "Well then, I suggest that you make your class less... boring, so that people don't fall asleep in it."

"Teacher: "Excuse me… I don't like the way you are talking, young lady!"

People were still staring but now they were laughing. Mal was being kinda mean. But now people were trying not to laugh and not thinking about why she fell asleep.

Before the teacher could say anything the bell rang loudly.
Perfect timing Mal taught.

"Teacher: Mal can you wait after class for a second?"

Mal knew exactly what the teacher wanted to talk about: attitude, adjusting, being unrespectful. Yeah, she knew it was not a nice thing to say blablabla. But she really wasn't feeling like talking.

So while everyone was leaving class. Mal quickly stood up with the other students and went for the door.
