Callum and Ezran quickly hid in the hidden underground room, hoping that the female elven assasin would not catch up to them. "You're sure she won't be able to follow us?" Callum asked quickly. "No way. It took me over a month to figure out that combination." Ezran scoffed. Then the stairs came back down with a shudder. Both boys froze in horror. "But how did you…" Ezran stuttered in confusion. "Ah just pressed all the stones with the jelly hand-prints" The elven assassin said with a smirk. Ezran smacked a hand to his face, leaving yet another bright orange hand-print. She started walking towards them examining all the horrifying skulls, preserved specimens, and other bits of magical and non-magical creatures in the room. "What is this place? Runnan is right! There's nothin' in humans worth sparin'. Time's up." She said, now ready to kill the young Prince Ezran. Callum quickly got in front of his little half-brother. "You'll have to get through me." He said bravely. "Wait! You need to see something!" Ezran said. "Ah'm not fallin' for that flashin' frog trick again." She snapped. "He's a glow toad. But there is no trick this time. Please, look." He said, pointing to four covered tall pedestals and one that was around the size and shape of a large dog crate, but covered like all the rest. She narrowed her eyes but her sword dropped slightly. "Fine. But you uncover them. Slowly." He started backing up slowly towards the left most pedestal. "I can hear something inside each one. Something alive." He said and yanked the cloth of the first one. It was a bright glowing blue egg with white specks in it. He quickly unveiled the other three pedestals, revealing, a green and brown egg, a dark blue-green and white egg, a pearly-white egg, and a shimmering gold egg. All four were glowing. Then Ezran edged over to the large dog-crate one and wisked off the covering. Cramped inside, alseep under some sort of dark spell was a black and purple dragon, covered in sparkling star-like patterns, with pale purple horns. On its brow, was another smaller star. Attached to the crate was a large pack, obviously how six whole dragon eggs had been transported there in the first place. And the Star Dragonling? Obviously had hatched on the first new-moon night it had been there. Though why the resident Dark Mage hadn't tried harvesting the creature was a mystery. One she was sure would be solved if they could wake them up. "It… it can't be." She stuttered at the sight. "The egg, and all these others… They weren't destroyed." Callum said quietly. "This...changes everythin'… and if Ah'm right that pack can carry all o' them. Ah think its enchanted to be nearly endless so that caged one can go in too, at least until we get out o' here and can try wakin' them up." She said. Callum nodded and looked in the empty pack and saw four pockets and an empty space in the middle. He put each egg, minus the first blue one in a pocket, and with Ezran's help got the cage in the empty space in the middle, next to the cage he put his backpack so he could carry the large satchel. As she said, it fit just fine, and Callum shouldered the bag. "Ah can't believe it… the egg o' the dragon prince! If the egg lives…" She trailed off, as they gathered in front of the bright blue one. "Maybe it could stop the war." Callum finished. "They are all okay in their eggs, I can feel it!" Ezran said. The elf smiled and shook her head. "Mah name is Rayla. Ah already know your names… so its only fair." She said. "Nice to officially meet you Rayla." Callum said. Ezran smiled. Callum shook himself from dark thoughts. "But how? Why...why wasn't it, and the others destroyed?" He wondered aloud. "Because my father saved them." said a feminine voice. Standing there was Claudia, with a Sky Primal stone in her hand. "Claudia!?" Callum yelped, as Ezran grabbed the last egg. "Callum, Ezran get behind me! I can protect you from the elf." Claudia said. "Your father didn't save them. He stole them." Rayla said pointing a sword at Claudia. "That's a lie!" Claudia declared. "Then Claudia, why are the eggs and that baby dragon here?" Callum asked walking towards her. "My father took those eggs to protect us, Callum, so the elves and dragons couldn't use them. After one hatched he put the rest down here, and caged up the one that hatched. After it tried to escape he put a sleep spell on it." Claudia said. "What are you talkin' about? How could we use them?" Rayla said in exasperation. "Don't play dumb! You know they are powerful weapons. And that black and purple one is obviously the Star Paragon!" She said. "That's highly unlikely, and even if that baby is the Star Paragon, that does not mean the others are too! And besides they are just a baby, and the others are just eggs! They can't hurt anyone!" Rayla said, disgusted with the human girl. Claudia ignored her. "Ezran, don't be afraid. Walk towards me, and if she moves even an inch…" She said and drew a rune in the air, an obvious threat. As lightning flickered from the Primal Stone to her hand. "Just bring those things here." Claudia growled. "They are not things! They have parents, and they have tah go back tah them, or at least be looked after by the current Queen." Rayla said. "You're right. It wants it's mother. And I'm sure the others do too." Ezran said. "Ezran be careful" Claudia said, obviously wanting the boys to come to her. Ezran looked at Rayla who smiled at the boy. "Follow me." He said and ran off, Rayla was close behind. "Don't worry I won't hit Ez." Claudia said, gritting her teeth. "Fulminis! AH!" She cried out, the spell failing due to Callum knocking the stone out of her hand. It landed safely on the floor. He quickly grabbed a shackle from the ceiling and clipped it around Claudia's wrist. "Callum, what are you doing?!"
"The right thing! I hope." He said, before running off and grabbing the Primal Stone on the way. "Sorry Claudia!" He shouted as he ran through the door. Claudia looked around the chamber hurriedly trying to figure out a dark spell to stop them without mortally wounding Callum or Ezran. She hurredly lit a candle and sprinked some dusted wolf bones on it. "Nowd Fle eht tnuh, sevlow fo Swodahs!" She chanted and blew on the flame, shadow wolves appearing and ran after them. They caught up quickly. Callum noticed them first. "There's something after us!" He shouted. "Keep runnin'!" Rayla ordered as she faced the threat. "Wait not that way!" Ezran shouted as they ran. "Why not?" Callum asked before face-planting a wall. "Because its a dead end!" Ezran said, a bit late. Rayla ran up the wolves on her ankles. "Ah can't stop them! They're just smoke! Mah swords pass right through." She panted. "There might be something I can do, but I don't know if I can do it." Callum said."Is this a guessin' game? Just do it!" Rayla said, panicked. Callum quickly drew the rune he remembered Claudia using, and shouted "Aspiro!" And blew the smoke wolves into oblivion. "You did it!" Ezran shouted happily. "You never mentioned you were a mage." Rayla said in surprise. "Who me? No, I'm… I'm not really anything." Callum stuttered, heat blooming on his face. "You just did magic!" Ezran pointed out. "Yeah, that's what a mage is. Mages do magic." Rayla added. "Wow. Really? I'M A MAGE!" He shouted happily. Rayla quickly shushed him with a finger. "Shhh. No one likes a loud mage." He nodded but looked so happy. They continued onwards.
