Hey y'all. I was watching "Cobra Kai" several days ago and right there, I had this creative idea that I could not help but form it out on this platform. Really hope that you guys check this out and enjoy. I'll leave out notes on the CK's character pairing at the end of this chapter.
Prologue: August 2018(set around S2 E10 timeline)
"That's a lot of heavy items to upload out here" A random guy grunted as he carried a heavy piece of cardboard out of a U-Haul vehicle parked over to a nice luxury two story house.
"Well, what can i say...a whole baggage makes a complete home" a voice with a hint of a sweet Southern accent chimed, belonging to a young woman, probably around 21 or 22. She sported a long wide brim hat on top of her long brunette hair, with a pair of sunglasses, and was adorned with a long sleeved blouse and a long skirt, joined by a pair of loubotin boots, equivalent to a socialite, in fact she was. This woman's name was Seline. A full native of Altanta, Georgia, she had decided to move down to the best town right near the San Fernando Valley, mostly just to get a new fresh air for once and for another reason...
"Be careful with that, will you?" she warned another one of the workers as he pulled out a pristine fragile vase. She eyed him very carefully as he carried it into the new house. As the workers struggled to carry in the boxed packed furniture, Seline walked inside the house and was marvelled at she was seeing. The interior was definetely nice and bright with a shiny tan hue and the staircase look very modern and decorated. There was even a perfect view right out the balcony and in the dining room.
"That's pretty much it" one of the workers said a couple of minutes later after all of the boxes are now centered in the living room. "Hope you have a wonderful stay in California"
" I think I really will" Seline added as she looked on at the house.
A couple of hours later, Seline was starting to settle in, starting with the bedroom, when she heard a knock on her door. She ran down to the door and open it. No one was there but she look down and saw a tiny slip of paper. Looking at it, she noticed that it was a invitation to a gathering. The invite read this:
Welcome, new neighbor
Join us tonight at 7:30 pm for our annual August get-together and come get to know our community.
A couple minutes later, Seline, all dressed with the same skirt but a different sleeved blouse, and a classy open front knit coat, walked down towards the destination of the gathering, which was actually set in a gated community. As soon as she showed the invitation to the attendant, she gained entrance and continued walking until she reached the resident hall.
The atmosphere of the room was very vibrant the second Seline stepped inside. Most of the guests were around middle-aged to seniority and all around, there was chatter and light giggling, while wine glasses were clinked.
"Well hello" Seline turned and saw a petite blonde woman, probably in her early to late 40s, approaching her with a suspicious and stern expression "I don't think I seen you around before"
"I'm new, just moved today, I live a mile up from here. I'm Seline" Seline greeted.
"Judy" the woman-Judy did likewise and still looked at her with the same expression. "You certainly look a lot younger-"
"Well I'm 22 actually" Seline stated. "So far I'm seeing there's not a lot of Millennials or Gen-Zs.
"You're certainly one of the first" Judy added on and the two women begin to awkwardly giggled simultaneously .
"So what do you do, Seline" Judy begin to press.
"I'm a social influencer, on TikTok mostly...I also was an assistant for my fiancé back in Georgia. He's an entrepreneur."
Judy's face then relaxed and she smiled.
"An entrepreneur..that sounds very sweet" she commented politely but Seline could've sworn that the way she said it was filled with a bit of envy. "So where's your fiancé?"
"Well, we recently separated two months ago... so he didn't join the move" Seline admitted, her face slowly turning sullen.
"I'm very sorry" Judy said sincerely, sensing that this was a sensitive topic. "Mind if I hand you a tour of this place" she suggested, hoping to set a happy atmosphere.
Seline nodded. And so there, Judy showed her around the area, along with introducing her to few of the guests and then guided her to a table which was occupied by another woman who looked to have a Pacific Islander origin.
"Seline, this is Cheyenne. Cheyenne, meet Seline." Judy introduced. "Seline's new to town. I had just the bit of feeling the two of you might get along so I thought she should get real acquainted with you. Cheyenne here is an extrepreneur too.
"So nice to meet you" Cheyenne said nicely as the two women took their seats. "And yes I am, actually. I'm currently on the set mind in developing this new app"
"That's sounds interesting. What's it for?" Seline inquired.
"It's specifically a mindfulness app" Cheyenne explained. "But I can't disclose more at this point but it's going to be a hit.
"Amen" Judy chimed.
"And you, Seline"
"Oh umm me, well I'm not exactly a full-on entrepreneur, I mostly run marketing for my fiancé, he's actually working out on showcasing his cologne and coffee brand"
"Oh nonsense" Cheyenne interjected. "So you do marketing? That's as much contribution in a business. So what brings you to California"
"I kind of honestly needed a break and just be in a new ambiance. Plus, I want to be able to reconnect with my younger cousin, he lives in the Valley."
"What's his name?"
Before Seline could utter a sentence, she was cut off by the loud tune of a piano in front of them playing a classical music. She could see a long white hair men in the background seated as he performed into tune.
Cheyenne must've noticed that she was staring. "He does perform real good. That's Terrence to you" she added as she took a sip of her wine as she looked on.
Two weeks later...
"Thank you so much" Seline added with a smile as the Best Buy tech guy finally finished upgrading her brand new flat screen TV. As it turned out, it took about a week after moving in to have the TV delivered and another week to a wifi modem and to now finally have the TV connect widely to it. She couldn't be more happier. That and she managed to unbox and organized everything around the house.
"It's always a pleasure" he said "That'll be $753.50
Seline took out her credit card and tap it. As soon as the transaction was processed and done, she thanked him again as she walked him out of the house and close the door.
"Come over here you guys, we got TV service now" she chirped excitedly to her two pet chihuahuas as they happily ran to the living room. She sat on her couch and grab hold of the remote. "Let's see what we've missed" Seline said as the TV clicked on and directed to the news channel. Since it was almost 9:00 am, she headed towards the kitchen pour herself a warm cup of brewed tea. Cup in hand, she went back to the living room, just as the news story was now starting.
"It was two weeks ago today at West Valley High, where what can only be described as an all-out karate riot caught students and faculty off-guard, sending shock waves through the Valley." the news reporter announced as the camera then switched over to a man, possibly a local. He look quite disbelieved.
"We got enough to worry about these days." the man protested. "Now we got karate gangs in the school? I heard there was a karate attack at the mall a couple months back. I thought karate died out in the '80s." Seline cringed at hearing the mentions of the words "gang" and "attack". The camera quickly panned forward to another scene, showing a background of a high school and a crowd of a few today, students organized a peaceful gathering of prayer and song.
"Earlier today, students organized a peaceful gathering of prayer and song" the camera panned over to a young girl(Moon) who looked akin to a hippie and had a guitar in hand as she was singing.
"... right to love We don't have to punch Hey, let's go get some brunch and be friends" The camera switched immediately right back to the news reporter.
"Tonight, West Valley High is holding a community meeting to answer questions and help settle fears."
Seline couldn't believe her ears but what the news reporter would say next shook her to her deepest core.
"Police are still looking for Robby Keene, who ran away after kicking fellow student Miguel Diaz off a second floor balcony, landing right here on this staircase. Keene has since been expelled. Diaz, meanwhile, remains in a coma at West Valley General. Doctors say..."
Seline had stopped listening, her ears ringing with the one name that hung to her head.
Robby Keene.
In the shock that she was in, the cup that she was holding slipped out of her hand and onto the floor, breaking into many pieces.
Well, there's chapter for y'all. In case you're wondering about the development of this story, first off, nope, Seline is not joining Cobra Kai, nor Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang but she will be a important factor in some specific events of the karate war.
