'No no no no no no. This can't be happening! That stupid idealistic and ignorant little child!'

My thoughts were all over the place, and all I could do was watch helplessly as I slowly drifted away from the airship where Ruby and Roman were still fighting.

'Why didn't I just murder her right away instead of waiting for Roman to monologue?' 'Damn, this is all my fault!'

When I heard a shriek behind me, I hurriedly closed my umbrella and began to descend swiftly to the ground. A Nevermore sailed over me, its beak wide open, catching nothing and snapping its beak at the free air, intercepting where I was drifting previously.

I quickly braced my arms and opened my umbrella which gave a sudden yank as my momentum was violently slowed to a float with my heart thumping violently in my chest. I gave a look around myself, spotting Nevermore flying all around me.

Noticing the poor situation I found myself in I took a look below me and realized I'm still a long way away from the ground. With resolve I once more collapsed my Umbrela and straightened my body out and began dive bombing towards the treeline below me.

I once more began to rapidly fall towards the earth with my heart beating in my ears. The treeline below me expanded more and more until I was a few hundred feet above the treeline.

I quickly opened my umbrella and began to drift towards the treeline blow and maneuvered myself to land at the top of a tree. Soon my feet touched the leaves covering the top of the tree and soon found purchase on a branch of the tree.

Thankfully I was able to stand above the treeline from my position and stand above the leaves covering the branch.

I soon realized I was desperately gasping for breath which only served to heighten my nerves with an unsettling feeling weighing on me with pressure building in my chest.

I looked back up to the Airship and looked on with worry as I watched it continue to fly in the air.

'Shit, how am I gonna get back up there. I'm in the middle of Forever Fall Forest so it's going to take awhile to get back to civilization.'

Letting up on my thoughts for a moment I straightened out and began taking practice breaths to help calm myself down. I gathered my wits and began planning on what to do next.

'I guess I'll just have to break him out again since I'm not getting back there anytime soon. Besides Red won't kill Roma-'

BOOM

A loud explosion from above made my heart freeze in my chest. I then looked up to the sky with growing horror as the Airship began to rapidly fall from the sky.

'No, no please. Don't tell me. No he's alive he has to be. He must have a plan and this must be a part of it. He always has a plan, even if they're not always good one's he always has a plan.'

My throat soon constricted, and air came out in shallow gasps as I tried to process what I was seeing in front of me.

Before I could think any further my legs began to carry me through the treetops towards Vale following the descending airship.

I felt the hints of tears bite at the edge of my eyes as I began to imagine the worst.

'I can't lose the only family that's ever cared for me. Oum, how did you convince yourself that we were stuck into serving Cinder. We could have easily fled, especially with my Semblance. But I see why we continued pushing. Roman's avarice was to blame, so was his ambition which must always triumph, his drive to be five steps ahead at all times, his wish to provide us with a better life than what we had.'

I held back a sob that threatened to tear open from my lips and began to distract myself by fishing my scroll out of my pants pocket. I began to open the scroll and navigated my way with shaky fingers to the gps app.

I then became overwhelmed as the motionless picture of a chess piece taunted me when I opened the app. The black queen stared back at me, immobile, mocking me with its existence.

I nearly threw my scroll in a fit of rage but stopped myself and began to double my pace towards the crumbling city of Vale.

'Roman, please, you have to live.' I'm not sure how I'll manage without you. I've been alone in the world before, and I don't want to go back to being the only one fighting the tides of life as they try to drag us down in its depths. You stood by me and allowed me to be myself when no one else would. Everyone wanted or expected something from me, but all you saw was me, Neopolitan, a girl who was repeatedly told she couldn't be herself.'

I numbly continued my journey towards Vale while avoiding as many Grimm as I could would only one the thought of the safety of my partner on my mind.

"And so with that piece of legislation being put into place it made it legal for users to obtain a hero license and use their quirks in a proactive way to prevent crimes. This is single handedly the most important piece of legislature to be put into place in the last 150 years."

The teacher at the front of the classroom continued to drone on about material already covered in the class. This has sadly been what the last few weeks of school have been since they've been doing a review for us to prepare for our upcoming finals for the end of the semester.

'This couldn't get any more boring if we tried. Who thought it'd be a good idea to hire someone as monotone and tone deaf as this guy to become a teacher. Like seriously?! Are you trying to teach us or put us to sleep! UGHHH, this isn't fair at all.'

I swept my eyes across the classroom as the classroom was filled with other students in a similar state of boredom or focusing forward with rapt attention while taking notes.

I immediately looked up at the clock above the classroom door and had to restrain myself from vibrating in my seat in anticipation of the class's approaching dismissal.

'Come on, it's right there! Why does it take so long for a clock to tick forward 3 minutes! Go little hand you can do it! You can tick by faster, I believe in you!'

I kept my gaze locked onto the clock as my eyes tracked every tick of the smallest hand on the clock slowly heralding the end of class.

"Toga-San, would you mind telling me when the Heroic Quirk Use Act was first introduced to the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors respectively."

I quickly stood at attention and snapped my gaze to my teacher in front of me who looked on with an indifferent expression emptily gazing at me.

I could feel everyone in class's gazes concentrate on me at the mention of my name and movement, which only served to make me feel small and made my hair stand on end owing to my discomfort.

Unfortunately, my hasty movement caused my chair to topple backwards and clatter against the previously quiet room's floor.

I could feel my face heat up at my blunder and began squirming as the gazes of everyone in the room intensified.

I could hear quiet snickers throughout the room and whispers that floated around the edges of the room that I was unable to catch due to frantically trying to come up with the answer.

"Umm, uh th-th-."

I snapped my mouth closed in embarrassment as my face turned an even brighter hue of red as I tried to stutter out an answer.

The previous snickers then turned into full-blown giggles that resounded throughout the classroom that only served to embarrass me further. I desperately looked up towards the teacher pleading for help to quiet the classroom only to be met with his same indifferent expression.

He gave no motion that he was going to stop the classroom and only cocked an eyebrow upwards while continuing to await my answer.

I could only tighten my hands into fists at my sides and look down as I slowly became overwhelmed by the atmosphere of the class.

My nails began to bite into my palms as the laughing became louder and louder, with insults directed at my persistent silence following my previous gaffe.

My eyes soon grew hot and gained a weight behind them as I felt the telltale sign of tears begin to build in my eyes.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Thankfully the bell for class dismissal rang throughout the classroom thankfully ending my public humiliation early. Everyone else in the classroom got to their feet and bowed towards our Sensei and thanked him for class.

I couldn't help but stand still where I was frozen with me now chewing on my bottom lip to try and calm myself and keep the tears at bay.

I continued standing where I was until I looked up and saw that the classroom was empty with me being the only person remaining. I looked towards the clock which showed that I've been in the classroom for 10 minutes since the final bell dismissal.

With a shuddering breath I tried my best to collect myself and gathered all my school materials and put them in my carrier bag and slung it over my shoulder and began making my leave from the classroom.

I made my way to the classroom door and gave a brief glance back to take in the hellishly bland classroom that was bare of any posters with the significant features being the blackboard at the front of the room.

I then made my exit and began walking down the sparsely populated hallways of the school.

While I was making my way through the hallways I was blissfully unaware of me continuing to nibble on my bottom lip as I walked.

Eventually I made my way to my locker in the entranceway to the school. The lockers were deserted with no one nearby. Letting out a sigh of relief at that mercy I began opening my locker.

When I opened the door to my locker I was greeted to the sight of my shoes being littered with nails. I froze with my hand still on the door of the locker tightening my hold on it while causing it to shake in my grip.

I forced a grin and continued to look down at my shoes. My breathing became stuck in my throat as I stared, and my breaths came out in shuddering gasps. I felt my whole figure begin to quake with the tears from earlier threatening to spill over my face once more.

I kept staring for a few more seconds before summoning the confidence to pick up one of my sneakers. I then flipped it over and put the nails into my locker, and then dug up the few that had remained in my sneaker. I then repeated the process with the following shoe until my locker had turned into a steel torture chamber.

I took off my indoor shoes and instead of putting them in my locker put them inside my messenger bag. I moved my school materials around and found room for my shoes and then began putting on my sneakers which now had tears in them.

'Just be patient, Himiko. This is your senior year, soon you'll begin junior high with a clean slate. You'll no longer have to deal with this, and you will be able to make new friends that you'll be able to go shopping and gossip with. Heck you might even find a significant other because who can resist your charm!'

Despite her inner thoughts and the strained smile on her face tears began streaming down Himiko's face while she began walking home trying to keep her head held high towards the future.
