BOOOOOM!!!!!
The cavern shook and shuddered behind an explosive impact, dirt and rubble flying in different directions as the scene soon shifted towards a worn battleground in an open underground temple. The cloud of smoke settled to reveal a young man, about 16 years old in age, with tan skin and bright sea-green eyes, standing at about 5'9" in terms of height. He wore a black hoodie with an inverted color-scheme for the signature symbol of the Pokéball on the front of the short-sleeved jacket, with a brown short-sleeved leather jacket worn on top of that. Strapped to his waist was a brown leather belt with 5 shrunken down Pokéballs hooked to it, accompanied with ripped light blue denim jeans and black and white sneakers. Slung over his shoulder was a black, zipped up duffle bag, carrying all his essentials, with black and white fingerless gloves to boot. Finishing off the entire look, was a black cap with a bright red stripe running down the middle twisted backwards, resting neatly on top of his messy maroon hair, where a large portion of his wild bangs slightly overshadowed his left eye.
In front of him, was a creature with the body of a frog, dark blue in color with the appearance of a ninja. The creature had it's tongue wrapped around its neck like a scarf, with light blue shuriken like pouches on its hind-legs, and tan coloring on its chest, webbed hands, and muzzle. it's scarlet eyes glaring at the enemies in front of it.
This was Bronze Kamilo, Licensed Pokémon Trainer, and his partner Greninja, the Ninja Pokémon.
"Good job, Greninja." Bronze nodded to his partner, who looked back at his trainer and gave him a silent thumbs up.
"Gren."
"You got this, Bronze!"
The two looked to the side to see a young girl around Bronze's age with long dark purple hair with lighter shades of the same color striped through her bangs, wearing a dirty brown fedora. She had fair skin and round, yet fierce magenta eyes. She had a dark purple scarf thrown over her neck and wore a forest green cardigan with a black and white striped t-shirt underneath, dark blue skin tight denim jeans, and knee-high brown hiking boots.
At her side was a fearsome looking Pokémon. Draconic in nature and appearance, with rough, eggplant colored scales, sharp fin-like arms and claws, with an even larger dorsal fin on its back, with spikes jutting out of it's thighs, a dark red and yellow toned stomach, and a hammerhead shark shaped head. Glowing yellow eyes surveying the scene as it stood protectively at it's master's side.
This was Tess, a Licensed Trainer, and rival to Bronze, and her partner Garchomp, the Mach Pokémon.
Behind them were an adult man and woman, both wearing outfits designed for archeological digging sites, the man standing protectively in front of the woman. Both wearing hats meant to protect them from the heat. The man resembled a grown up Bronze, but with much neater hair and brown eyes, and tan skin, while the woman had pale skin, long silky brown hair, and bright sea-green eyes.
These were Bronze's parents, Chase and Maria Kamilo.
They'd come so far to make it to this point… Since Mitis Town, when both Chase and Maria were kidnapped by the evil organization known as Team Eclipse, Bronze trained day in, day out, traveled around the region of Roria, participating in the gym challenges and catching more Pokémon to add to his team, all while searching for them. And they were just within arms reach… They were going to be safe. Bronze trusted Tess to keep them safe.
"Tch. Enough of this nonsense!"
… Which led to the current matter at hand. Bronze and Greninja turned their attention to an adult man with neatly cropped hair, tan skin and sharp hazel eyes, with squared glasses. Wearing a sleeveless black and orange militia uniform. The man held out a Pokéball and returned a fainted Sceptile back into it's portable home, all the while having a nasty scowl on his face.
Professor Cypress… Or rather, Team Eclipse's Leader, Cypress. The man that gave Bronze his Greninja, who was once a Froakie. Who paved the path towards his destiny as a Pokémon Trainer along with his childhood friend Jake.
A traitor. The man behind the kidnapping of his parents.
Bronze frowned deeply at the thought, but shook it away as he readied for another back to back battle, eyeing the legendary Pokémon floating menacingly behind the leader of the evil team. Hoopa, in its Unbound Form… The true form of the mythical Pokémon Hoopa, said to have the power to bend dimensions to it's will.
It was a possibility they would have to battle it, if it went on a rampage. And it'd spell disaster for the Roria Region.
"Cypress!" Bronze bellowed, "I beat you! Stand down! There's no need to go any further!"
Cypress' scowl deepened even further, he shook his head in denial. "No. We are so close to achieving our end goal, and I will not stop until I see Eclipse's ambitions fulfilled!" Such passion, such emotion, some would find it awe-inspiring for a mere human to possess such vigor. But not today, not now, when the world could be at stake.
"Cypress-"
"Hoopa!" The Ex-Professor turned around towards the mythical Pokémon, "It is I who have awoken you! Grant me my wish! That I may discover a pure world in need of ruling!"
Hoopa's body glowing with violet ethereal energy, before the portal creates for Eclipse's very purpose, utilIzing Hoopa's dimension hopping capabilities to open a portal to a new world for them to rule over and start anew. They needed Chase and Maria to help gather the pieces and equipment, the resources… But Bronze was the final piece. The gift his parents gave him on his first day as an official Pokémon Trainer, the Bronze Brick, was the final piece to the portal in order for it to activate, and he was led into the trap. Now, the portal was open.
A sudden updraft entered the temple, everyone wincing at the fierce gale winds blowing passed them from the sheer amount of power and pressure being exuded from the portal.
Cypress let out a joyous laugh as the portal, his life's work, and ambition, roared to life. "Isn't it glorious?!" The man chuckled as he turned to see the wide-eyed visages of the heroes who tried to put a stop to his plans, "You will all soon see that I am not as mad as you believe. In fact… I am the most clever of the lot of you. I am the only soul wise enough to devise such a plan, and brave enough to carry it out!"
"The almighty Hoopa, a Pokémon so talented and powerful… The Ancient Rorians were so full of fear, they decided to imprison it."
Bronze scowled as the man let out a maniacal chuckle… ".. And here it stayed, waiting for me to come along one day an- WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
Everyone's eyes widened as the ground shook with an explosion that shook the area. The perpetrator none other than Jake, a young man with spiked up black hair, pale skin and charcoal grey eyes, dawning the Eclipse Uniform. Jake was Bronze's childhood friend, both wanting to explore the Roria Region together… Though, unfortunately… He was kidnapped too, leaving Bronze and Tess devastated and leaving the two trainers on a warpath against Team Eclipse, only to find out, in the final battle, that he was now a part of the evil organization! But...
"J-J-Jake?!" Bronze and Tess' eyes were as wide as saucers as the young man who they called a friend, and once thought a traitor and ally to Eclipse, hit the leader of said evil organization with a Hydro Pump from his Vaporeon.
"Am I the only one that's tired of that guy's monologuing?" Jake snarked as his partner, Vaporeon, growled menacingly at Cypress. The man looked towards Jake in shock.
"Jake! What is the meaning of this!" Cypress howled in rightful anger, being betrayed by a subordinate he clearly thought he had wrapped around his finger… Oh, how wrong he was.
"It's the end of the line for Team Eclipse." Jake said with a determined glare. "Nobody, comes between me and my friends! Cypress, you made a huge mistake thinking you could take advantage of us - Take advantage of me like that! VAPOREON! HYDRO PUMP!"
At her trainer's command, the water-type evolution of the Evolution Pokémon, Eevee, barked and leaped into the air, Water Type energy forming in front of it's open jaws, before a powerful stream of water slammed into Cypress' chest, knocking the wind out of the Ex-Professor as he was sent flying into the glowing portal, everyone staring wide-eyed all the while.
Jake then turned his attention to the two Admins of Eclipse, Gabe and Harry, two twins that followed Cypress' beck and call like loyal dogs, and were a massive thorn in Bronze and the gang's side for a long while… Although they were… Pretty incompetent. "You'd better join him, or you're next!"
""Say no more!"" The twins chorused fearfully before dashing into the still very much active portal, never to be seen again.
Bronze stared gobsmacked at the scenario before him, before turning his attention to Jake… Who stared back at him with a nervous expression.
"Jake?" Bronze stepped up to his friend, who winced deeply at being called out.
"Y-Yeah, Bronze. Listen… I-" The boy was cut off by being pulled into a tight embrace by his best friend. Jake stood there, stunned, before tearing up and returning the hug full force.
"Just glad you're back, man…" Bronze chuckled heartily, "I knew you wouldn't turn on us!"
"I-I'm sorry… For everything! I was a coward, I should've-!" Jake was cut off again from being smacked upside the head from Tess. The woman he had come to fall in love with, yet worried to death with his kidnapping, and hurt with his 'betrayal'. But nonetheless, the Dragon Trainer simply smiled, and joined in on the hug.
"Dumbass… Do you have any idea how worried we were?! How I was…?" She chuckled, "You better take responsibility."
Jake couldn't hold back any longer, he just let it all out… He cried, hugging his friends tightly like a lifeline, fearing that if he let them go for even a second, they'd just up and vanish, leaving him alone…
… As touching as the scene was, not everything was fine and dandy. The cavern shook, and the trainers, along with the Bronze's parents, let out startled gasps as Hoopa let out a distorted roar. The portal that was created grew larger and larger with each passing second.
Chase grimaced as he held onto his wife tightly, the temple continuing to shake violently, "The portal is still active! It will continue to grow out of control if Hoopa isn't defeated! And if that happens… Roria. No. Other dimensions may be at risk!"
The trainers separated, and Jake frowned, while unhooking three Pokéballs from his belt, and looked towards the roaring mythical Pokémon. "Then I'll stay and fight, buy you guys time to escape."
"To hell with that!" Bronze cursed, Jake looking at his friend in surprise, "We fought tooth and nail to rescue you!"
Tess nodded fiercely, "We aren't leaving you behind!"
Jake grimaced, "I can't see you guys getting hurt, I don't know what I'd do if-" Jake grunted when Bronze roughly grabbed him by the front of his uniform and pulled him face to face. The maroon-haired trainer scowled at his friend.
"Fucking hypocrite is what you are! How do you think me 'n Tess would feel if you just up and sacrificed yourself here and now after everything we've been through?! What about your parents, huh?! How'd they feel if they found out their son died fighting a Pokémon capable of bending literally dimensions to it's will alone when he could have had backup!"
"I-I-"
"You're out of your depth." Bronze gently pushed Jake back, cooling his expression as he looked at Greninja who nodded towards his trainer. "We're standing here to fight, we won't leave your side."
"Bronze is right." Tess took Jake's hand in her own and smiled, "We fight better together. We stand a better chance together… And besides. Bronze has never led us astray before, right?"
Jake's cheeks took on a light pink tint. He gulped down the nervousness in his throat and fought the butterflies in his stomach. Staring at his friends, who looked back at him with determined stares. He glanced down at Vaporeon who leaped onto his shoulder, purring and rubbing her cheek against his affectionately.
Jake smiled, and nodded, gaining a more fiery look.
Bronze nodded back, and so did Tess, before the maroon-haired boy turned towards his parents, "Mom, Dad, you need to get the hell outta dodge. Things are probably going to go down hill real fast…"
Chase shook his head, "No way. I'm not leaving my son to die here."
Maria nodded, "Yes. We will stand here and help you anyway we can. I won't let my baby boy and his friends throw their lives away for nothing!"
"But-"
"No buts, young man!"
Bronze stared at his mother in exasperation, before staring at his father who didn't budge an inch. The boy let out a mirthful chuckle, before shaking his head in amusement and turning around to face the impending threat, everyone else doing the same as they summoned their respective Pokémon. Tess and her Garchomp and Haxorus, Jake, and his Nidoking and Vaporeon, and Bronze, his Greninja… and Lucario. "Alright. What are we dealing with here?"
Jake nodded, "The Ancient Rorians sealed Hoopa away because it destroyed their homes and way of life." He explained as the mythical Pokémon let it's power flare, increasing the size of the portal, encouraging Jake to explain faster! "If we aren't careful, the same may happen to us, or on a larger scale… All of Roria."
"And then other dimensions may be next." Tess breathed out in horror.
Bronze gulped nervously, as well as Greninja. Even Lucario, who was one of the more reserved Pokémon of Bronze's roster, broke out into a nervous sweat. ".. No biggie."
"Yeah," Jake chuckled nervously, "No biggie."
"Cypress planned to leave this world to be destroyed by Hoopa," Jake continued, "And we've got to stop Hoopa before that goal bears fruit."
"Again, no biggie-!"
"Everyone, the portal!" Chase gasped as everyone looked towards it, seeing it increase in size! "It's nearly doubled in size!"
"This can't be good…" Maria watched on nervously.
"Damn! It's happening too fast! The portal is only going to keep getting worse at this rate!" Jake growled in frustration.
"Then we have to hit Hoopa with everything we got!" Bronze nodded in determination, "Greninja, Lucario! Use-"
His breath hitched as the fierce winds grew more ferocious. Dust and debris were getting picked up, nearly everyone being swept off their feet, trying to keep their balance. That wasn't the reason for his hesitation. A wooden crate was lifted up from the updraft, and was pulled into the portal… Everything was being sucked in! Everyone was looking for something to hold onto so they could hold their ground, but as a stray crate flew, it's trajectory aimed at an unsuspecting Jake…
"JAKE! MOVE!!!" Bronze roared out over the harsh winds, his body moving on it's own. Time seemed to slow, everyone turning towards Bronze as he rushed towards Jake, arms outstretched, he inched towards his friend… And shoved him out the way. "URk-!"
The crate slammed into Bronze's side, taking him with it as he flew into the growing portal as it sucked in whatever it could get it's hands on, Bronze panicked, eyes wide as he outstretched his arms again, trying to latch onto something, anything! Just SOMETHING…!
But nothing.
"NINJA!" Greninja, his partner, the Pokémon that has been with him from the beginning, blurred forward, Lucario calling out to her master was right behind the Ninja Pokémon and rushing by the frog's side. Both lunging for their trainer, Bronze trying to grasp Greninja's outstretched front leg… It was too late. Bronze was sucked in, so was Greninja… and Lucario too. The portal shook, rumbled, the amount of energy coursing through it reaching the breaking point, and before they knew it… The portal exploded in a burst of violent purple energy.
Silence reigned through the temple as Hoopa in its Unbound State growling ferally, the portal now destroyed, it's pieces scattered, unable to withstand the amount of energy holding it together. That was it… The portal was gone.
Jake starred in mute horror, dropping to his knees… That was it?! They had to wait for it to overload?! No… No! He couldn't do anything! It happened again, it happened again… WHY DID IT HAPPEN AGAIN?!
What was left was the enraged and horrified screams of Bronze's friends and family.
A battle waged.

*Schworp! SCHWING!*
"aaaaaaaaaaaaaHAAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA-"
BOOOOOM!!!!
The forest shook from the crash, birds that were resting in their nests let out terrified squawks and flew into the morning sky. In the deep, lush, green forest, Bronze groaned in pain, wheezing and coughing as he slowly climbed to his feet, dusting the dirt off his clothes.
"Ugh…" Bronze gripped his head painfully, emerald eyes blinking away the black spots that filled his vision. "What the hell… Happened..?"
Bronze's eyes widened, his head shooting up and twisting so fast he could have gotten whiplash. Team Eclipse! Mom! Dad! Tess! Jake! HOOPA! THE PORTAL?! Bronze looked around frantically, before his eyes widened even further as he took in the sight of the unconscious forms of Greninja and Lucario laying on the dirt road. He immediately rushed to his Pokémon's side, kneeling between them and nudging them gently.
"Guys! Wake up! You're okay, right? C'mon! Give me a sign!" Bronze spoke hastily, shaking his two Pokémon a bit harder. Soon, they stirred, and Bronze let out a sigh of relief as his Pokémon slowly gathered their bearings. "You guys're okay… Thank Arceus…"
We are fine, Master. But are you alright? Lucario spoke through her telepathic link, utilizing the power of her Aura to link it to Bronze's own. The jackal-like Pokémon looked around the forest, already on guard for any threats, with Greninja doing the same as he rested a hand on Bronze's shoulder.
"Yeah… I'm fine, Lucario, Greninja." Bronze nodded and stood up fully, adjusting his duffle bag. "So, recap… We were fighting Team Eclipse, Jake betrayed Cypress and Hydro Pump'd the bastard into the portal… We prepared to fight Hoopa, and then…" Flashes of Jake's shocked and confused face, the horrified cries of his parents and Tess… A distorted roar… And then darkness. ".. I pushed Jake out of the way of a stray crate, and got knocked into the portal."
Greninja folded his arms over his chest and gave a hum of agreement, Lucario letting out a low growl in response, stretching out her senses to locate any signs of life. Bronze sighed, and looked towards his Pokémon with a small smile. "You guys jumped in after me, I'm assuming?" An affirmative croak and growl got him his answer. "Heh… Thanks, you guys."
"Gren, Greninja." Greninja nodded his head and gave Bronze a playful nudge on the shoulder.
We are family, Master. Lucario nodded, a simple smile crossing her features, We always have each other's back.
Bronze smirked in response, "Yeah. Always got each other's back."
Bronze looked around, taking in the new location they were in. And frowned. It was just green, and more green… The typical forest and a dirt path. The Roria Native ran a hand down his face and sighed.
"Shit… We need to figure out where we are… We could be dropped off halfway across the world for all we know…" Bronze turned around and started walking down the straight path. Pulling his phone out of his pocket, he turned it on and immediately went to his contacts, opting to call Tess.
Nothing. Straight Static… Oddly enough.
Bronze grimaced at that, and turned his phone off, tucking it into his pocket. "Already not a good sign…" 'I hope they're okay'… He thought, letting out a puff of air.
They are strong, Master. Jake himself has gotten much stronger, Lucario said, And as much as it pains me to say this, you being pulled into the portal may give them the drive they need to overcome such a powerful opponent.
"My disappearance fuels them, huh…?" Bronze muttered.
Or death. That earned a smack to Lucario's shoulder from Greninja, who glowered at her. What? It could be a possibility. For all they know we didn't survive the jump between the portal.
That earned an even more irate glower.
"IIt's fine, Greninja." Bronze laughed good-naturedly. "Lucario has a point… We'll just surprise them by coming back home. For now, let's keep moving."
Greninja sighed and softened his look before trudging on ahead. Lucario follows to do the same, but not before eyeing her trainer over shoulder momentarily, before moving on.
For what felt like hours of endless walking, Bronze was getting irritated. They were still stuck in this forest, no sign of civilization, no idea where they were, they had no idea if Jake and the others were okay, for all he knew they could have been killed during the battle with Hoopa, and then Hoopa would have possibly rampaged all throughout Roria until there was nothing left! Then… It'd set its sights on the other regions. Mythical and Legendary Pokémon earned their titles for a reason, they were powerful, extremely powerful, with examples being Groudon and Kyogre, the Pokémon responsible for shaping lands and creating the vast oceans of the Earth, or Regigigas, a Pokémon capable of moving CONTINENTS. Needless to say, Bronze wasn't faring well, these thoughts clouding his mind.
Snap!
Bronze's head jerked up, body tensing. Lucario and Greninja shifting into a battle-ready stance at the sudden sound. Feral growling echoed throughout the vast wilderness, bushes rustling. Bronze's hand slowly reached for his other Pokéballs, the rustling continued, until two figures of black emerged. Bipedal, in the shape of a deformed wolf, pitch black fur, the color of darkness, as if it absorbed all light in it's path, bone-like protrusions jutting out of it's long arms, hind-legs, and back. Slobber dripping down it's barred fangs, with a bone mask practically fused to it's long snout. Beady red eyes stared at Greninja and Lucario with an almost curious gaze, before it's attention landed on Bronze. The strange beasts immediately went into a feral like state, snarling, hunching forward as if ready to lunge. Bronze, with his experience of handling wild, hostile Pokémon, stood his ground calmly despite the emotions raging inside of him. He put on a mask of indifference, with his hand an inch away from his other Pokéballs.
'What kind of Pokémon is that? I've never seen one like that before… Is it a new species? Looks like a Dark Type.' Bronze frowned in thought, possible strategies on how to deal with it formulating in his mind, until he heard the strangled gasp of Lucario, he looked towards his Pokémon curiously, noting the shocked, and slightly horrified look dawning the jackal-like Pokémon's face. "Lucario, what's wrong?"
M-Master… Lucario stammered, curling her paws up into unsteady fists, These… These things, have no Aura.
Bronze choked on air, and Greninja looked at Lucario in shock. "Gren?!" / "What?!"
I sense no Aura from it… Nothing. It's as if… It has no soul. Lucario grimaced.
"GRENINJA?!" / "THE F*CK?!"
"GROAAAAAAAAAR!!!!!"
The first black beast let out a primal roar and lunged forward, the trainer and Pokémon shocked by the sudden action. The creature completely blurred past Greninja and Lucario, outstretching it's claws with the intent to tear Bronze apart. Bronze stumbled back, and rolled out of the way to avoid the swipe from the beast. Bronze gulped in fear, but stood up nonetheless.
"Greninja, Aerial Ace!" Bronze commanded, and Greninja left the ground with a burst of speed, white energy encasing it's legs as it slammed into the black creature. The beast howled in pain as it flew across the dirt road, leaving a trail of dust in its wake, "Night Slash!" Greninja landed on its feet gracefully, before focusing Dark Type energy into the palm of his hand, shaping it, molding it, into a blade of dark purple energy.. The Ninja Pokémon blasted forward again as the black creature just started to get up, and with a clean swipe, the blade seared through the beast's neck, decapitating it.
The second appeared apprehensive, seeing it's fellow kin be dispatched so easily. It let out a low growl, circling around Bronze and his Pokémon. Bronze stepped behind Lucario as she stepped forward, both dog-like creatures staring down at each other. Red eyes filled with life staring at red eyes filled with malice… Silence was all that came besides the sound of the wind and rustling of the bushes, before the black wolf tensed. Lucario did the same in response, and the beast lunged forward, going in for a standard choreographed swipe with its claws that Lucario could easily dodge without being told to. The beast dug its claws into the dirt to stop it's momentum and Bronze stepped back to give an order.
"Bone Rush!" Lucario nodded, red eyes glowing a brilliant blue as azure light formed between her paws. Clapping them together and crushing the light inside, Lucario focused on her Aura, in a similar manner to Greninja creating Night Slash, she shaped it, and molded it into a long, straight staff of glowing bone, twirling the weapon around her body masterfully. The Aura Pokémon entered a low-stance as the beast stared at with barely concealed anger. Lucario narrowed her eyes, and blasted forward, caving the ground in with the unnecessary amount of force used to propel herself forward, the black beast growled and lunged, opening its jaws wide to maul Lucario, who blocked with her staff, keeping the jaws locked in place with the glowing weapon.
The black beast continued to put more force on the weapon, hoping to break it. But it never came, instead its weapons broke, the more force it put in, the more it's sharp, canine-like teeth chipped away, until they shattered, unable to hold on and stay together any longer. The beast howled in pain and stumbled back as the pieces of it's teeth fell harmlessly to the ground. Lucario smirked, and jabbed the beast's body with her bone, forcing it back with each strike, before focusing on the weapon in hand. With a mighty swing, she slammed it into the beast's side, the blackened wolf's ribs caving under the blow as the staff extended in length and drove it into a tree, earning another pained howl from the black creature.
"Finish it. Aura Sphere." Bronze commanded firmly, and the bone staff in Lucario's hand faded into motes of blue light. The jackal Pokémon stepped forward and outstretched a paw, aiming it at the black wolf who struggled to get to its feet. Lucario drew upon her power again, blue flames of power flowing down her arm, and settling onto the center of her paw, before shaping into a ball of blue, glowing light. Lucario's crimson eyes shined brightly, and with a grunt, fired the Aura Sphere, the ball of life energy whizzing through the air like a speeding bullet, and striking the beast in the center of it's chest, shredding through the blackened skin and fur, and leaving a gaping hole left in it's chest.
The light slowly left the beast's eyes, and it collapsed, wisps of black dust cascading off of it's back. It was dead.
"Gren, Greninja."
I'm not a show-off.
Silence reigned throughout the forest, Bronze let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He stared at the fading body in abject shock, words barely able to form as his mouth opened and closed.
"Woah..." Bronze slowly walked up to the corpse that was fading away.
It had no soul, Lucario hummed in thought, cupping her chin with her right paw. I can only theorize that after these creatures are… Killed, they fade to nothing. There is no afterlife for them.
"So there are more… Of these… Things?" Bronze winced at the thought.
Possibly.
"Ninja.." Greninja shuddered at the thought.
"Great…" Bronze rubbed his temples in exasperation, before turning on his heel and walking down the dirt path again. "I don't think we're where we think we are, guys."
Yes, all my life I have never seen a creature quite like that, and it seemed bent on harming you, Master. Bronze hummed as he trekked down the road, And it completely ignored us. Perhaps they are only hostile towards humans…
"Maybe. We gotta figure out more, but we won't be able to do that with just walking through a forest." Bronze took out two Pokéballs and one Great Ball, "I'll be taking to the skies, covering more ground… Or air, in this case."
"Gren." Greninja nodded in understanding, Lucario doing the same.
Very well, Master.
"Return." The Pokéballs popped open, a red beam of energy struck Lucario and Greninja. A red glow covered their bodies, before they were shrunken down, and pulled into the Pokéballs. They snapped shut, and Bronze hooked them to his belt. Staring at the Great Ball in his hand, he thumbed the button, enlarging it. "Corviknight, come on out!" Tossing the Great Ball into the air, it popped in a burst of bright blue energy, out came a large black bird of steel and dark purple feathers, with a sharp metallic beak and beady ready eyes, standing at about 7ft tall.
The Raven Pokémon, Corviknight.
Corviknight let out a shrill, hovering in the air momentarily before coming back down to the ground, staring at Bronze expectantly.
Bronze grinned, rubbing Corviknight's head affectionately. The avian Pokémon huffed, but didn't shy away from it. "Heya, bud. I'm gonna need a ride, we're… Well, in unknown territory. Probably far away from home, so I need to figure out where we are. Cover more ground. Think you can help me with that?" Corviknight cawed and merely turned away from Bronze, leaning forward and waiting for the maroon-haired teen to hop on. Bronze's grin widened and he did just that. "Alright! Let's go!"
Corviknight let out a mighty shriek and blasted off into the sky, leaving an echoing BOOM! In its wake.
A crow stares off into the distance, watching the much larger bird fly away, before flying off itself.
»» AWAJ ««
Bronze let out a long, agonizing groan at the scenery before him. Nothing but mountain ranges and forests for miles. Seriously, why couldn't Hoopa drop him off in a city or something! No signs of human life, or Pokémon life anywhere, just the occasional flying black creature intent on killing him which Corviknight easily cut down with a Steel Wing. There were some bigger ones that caused problems, but most of them acted mindlessly, on instinct, and against a trained Pokémon like Corviknight? They were cannon fodder. Corviknight bristled slightly at the sounds Bronze made, but continued the leisurely flight. Bronze, meanwhile, tried connecting to the internet on his phone… No dice.
"Great. Just great. Can't access the internet, instead of going to voicemail when I try to call the others I get straight static…" Bronze sighed, turning his phone again. ".. All of this is adding up to my 'Nowhere Near Home' theory…"
BANG! *SHINK!*
"Corviknight! Halt!" Corviknight did just as Bronze ordered, steadying the flap of its wings, keeping them halted in the air. Bronze looked around with narrowed eyes, straining his ears, "You heard that, right?" Corviknight let out a low note, and gave a slight nod of his head.
'Definitely sounded like a gun was fired…' Bronze frowned.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
"Follow the sound." Bronze ordered, and Corviknight looked towards his trainer with a questioning gaze. If it had an eyebrow, it'd be raised. "Don't look at me like that! If there are gunshots, then that means there are people, people that are possibly in danger here. I dunno why'd they have a gun when they can use their Pokémon to fight back…" 'Unless their Pokémon… Were.. Killed…' "... But it's worth checking out, so let's go! Mush!"
Corviknight rolled his eyes and cawed in exasperation but flew towards the sound of gunfire nonetheless. Sometimes, the Raven Pokémon couldn't understand his master's line of thinking.
Following the sound of gunfire and the occasional clash of metal, led Bronze and Corviknight to an abandoned settlement of sorts, judging by the old, withered wood and wallpapers, unfinished buildings and the like, which made it look like a ghost town. Or it would be if it didn't have occupants already. Bronze's eyes widened in shock at what he was seeing, 5 individuals were duking it out in the abandoned settlement, 2 girls and 2 boys vs an adult male in a brown coat.
Bronze and Corviknight's eyes widened at the scene. This was a fight going on, from the looks of it. But where were the Pokémon? The maroon-haired teen eyed the other guys, they seemed to be around his age, maybe a year older, from what he could tell from how high up he was. A blonde guy wearing a hoodie with armor with golden accents using a sword and kite shield, an orange haired girl wearing black and pink holding a… Warhammer? It looked mechanical in nature. A guy - judging by his muscular physique and absolutely no signs of femininity around the chest - dressed in green with long black hair held bladed… Guns? And a girl in red and black, with an admittedly cool looking cloak holding an even cooler looking mechanical scythe.
What the hell was going on?!
The Crazy Dude was absolutely manhandling the group of teenagers though… The blonde haired knight tried to go in for a wide slash but the Crazy Dude easily leaped over it with sweet acrobatic skills, kicking him away with an abnormal amount of strength. The guy in green aimed his weapons at the Crazy Dude and started firing glowing green pellets at the admittedly insane looking man in brown, who let out a crazed laugh and easily dodged those too, where then the girl in red blurred in and swung are scythe towards the man who nimbly dodged and parried her blows, before lunging in and swiping at her, causing the scythe wielding girl to hastily put up a guard, the Crazy Dude's blades grazing her skin and causing a red glow to ripple across her body. That caught Bronze's attention.
'What was that?' Bronze's eyes narrowed as he watched the battle rage on. Corviknight looked over his shoulder and eyed Bronze, the trainer, in response, held up a hand as a sign to wait.
The Crazy Dude kicked away the red-headed scythe wielder just as the hammer-wielding girl rushed in to smash him away, the crazed man landed on the girl's hammer and launched himself away, crashing into a building that started to cave. The group began to gain their bearings as the man propped himself along the foundations of the building barely holding it together. The blonde stepped up with his shield raised, and spoke, but Bronze couldn't quite make out what he was saying. Something about not wanting to fight…
The man smirked and dropped down in front of the teens, Bronze further questioning how these people were capable of withstanding these falls and attacks on their own. More speaking came, until he pointed towards the girl with the scythe. Bronze narrowed his eyes at that. 'Does he want her for something?' The group of teens looked at the man with scowls as the girl with the hammer stepped in front of Red Riding Hood, as he was now calling the girl with the scythe, and then Knight Guy stepped up in front of Hammer Girl. Seems they weren't letting Crazy Dude near Red Riding Hood…
The battle continued again, with a blur of motion, Crazy Dude got up behind Knight Guy, Green Guy reacting quickly went trigger-happy and fired at Crazy Dude, Knight Guy raised his shield just in time for the bullets to bounce of his shield and whiz towards Crazy Dude, who dodged and propped himself on Knight Guy's shield, twirling and twisting around, his movements following into a spin kick as Red Riding Hood came in with an overarching slash that completely missed, sending Red Riding Hood flying to the side. Bronze winced at the hit.
Knight Guy went in for a wide slash that Crazy Dude dodged, slamming his foot into the blonde's head and kicking the knight away, before running towards Hammer Girl with the obvious intent to harm. Red Riding Hood stabbed her scythe into the ground and aimed it at the back of the running coated man.
'The heck is she gonna do?' Bronze blinked in confusion. 'She needs to get up close to use her scythe, why is she-'
BANG!
From the tip of the scythe, came a bullet with electricity arcing around it. The bullet whizzed by Crazy Dude's shoulder and hit Hammer Girl instead, sending her crashing into the ground in a cloud of dust. This caused Bronze's jaw to drop for two reasons. Reason Number 1: A SCYTHE THAT IS ALSO A GUN! GUN SCYTHE! WHAT THE HELL?! Reason Number 2: SHE SHOT HER OWN TEAMMATE! WHY?! It was taking all of Bronze's willpower not to scream out pure bloody-fucking-murder. He bit the inside of his cheek, and continued to watch as the Crazy Dude laughed at the sheer irony of what happened, while Knight Guy, Green Guy, and Red Riding Hood stood unfazed, as if not worried about their teammate being freaking shot.
And the reason showed, when Hammer Girl came walking out the dust cloud smirking, hammer in hand as blue electricity arched around her body wildly, shifting to a neon pink. Bronze, Corviknight, and Crazy Dude looked at the girl in shock. She looked healthier… Stronger! What?! Did these people have superpowers or something?! Bronze wasn't completely oblivious to superpowers, hell, they had literally psychics running around, one being Sabrina, a famous psychic from the Kanto Region, as well as the few practitioners of Aura that existed throughout the Pokémon World. Bronze gulped, as Hammer Girl suddenly blasted further with renewed vigor, and swung her hammer down with all her might! The resulting impact created an explosion of dirt and debris. Bronze winced, that guy was definitely going to feel that in the morning…
… Or he would have if he didn't BLOCK IT! 'Seriously?! HOW?! THAT WOULD HAVE TURNED ME TO PASTE! HECK, IT COULD HAVE GIVEN CORVIKNIGHT SOME TROUBLE!' What was even weirder was that Crazy Dude blocked it with a freaking scorpion tail! Bronze and Corviknight's nearly bulged out of their sockets. How?! How was that physically and biologically possible?! It made no sense! NONE OF THIS WAS MAKING SENSE!
Crazy Dude, now dubbed Scorpion Dude, giggled maniacally before kicking Hammer Girl away and tossing his coat aside as he leaped onto the roof of a building, and more talking initiated, 'These people talk a lot when they should be fighting…' Bronze thought as he watched Scorpion Dude launch himself towards the group of weaponized teenagers, lunging towards Red Riding Hood who dodged his swipes and retaliated with her own, which Scorpion Dude dodged and followed up with a kick, and then set his sights on Green Guy, who narrowly dodged the jabs from Scorpion Dude's stinger, before promptly getting kicked away.
Bronze's hands unconsciously tightened into fists as the teens continued to get thrashed around. Scorpion Dude, despite his insane and extravagant personality, had far more experience and skill, and it showed with how he was just toying with these guys… It angered him... that he had to watch this go down.
Scorpion Dude broke through Red Riding Hood's guard and delivered a few quick jabs to disorient the girl, before kicking the scythe out of her grasp and kicking her across the settlement, that same red shine Bronze saw before returning with each hit delivered to her. Scorpion Dude then blurred forward as Red Riding Hood painfully twirled through the air, and as she inched closer and closer, sent one last devastating kick to the girl's stomach, the red glow surrounding the girl's body flickered brightly, before dimming and shattered into motes of light. Red Riding Hood clutched her stomach in pain as she reached for her scythe… Scorpion Dude kicked it away, his stinger poised to strength, the other teens staring helplessly as they struggled to get to their feet.
And the bastard laughed, and relished in their helplessness.
Bronze growled, the dam broke. He couldn't stand by any longer. Screw holding his position. He wasn't about to let that bastard harm that girl, worse, kill her! HE WOULDN'T STAND FOR IT! "CORVIKNIGHT!" Bronze's enraged voice boomed throughout the skies, even causing a fierce Pokémon like Corviknight to flinch. "GO! IRON DEFENSE!"
Corviknight didn't even hesitate, the mighty avian Pokémon let out a shrill, ear piercing shriek that Bronze paid no mind to, before blasting down towards the settlement, leaving an earth shattering BOOM! Behind him in its wake.
As everyone looked up…
A black bullet descended from the heavens.
»» AWAJ ««
Ruby Rose hadn't felt this scared in… A while. It was only a few months after everything… After the Fall. Everything went so bad… Grimm swarmed the city, people were dying, the negativity drawing in more Grimm. It was chaos, utter chaos… Throughout everything she was terrified, but it was overshadowed by her determination to save others, to fulfill her duty as a Huntress. It was why she set out with the remaining members of JNPR, now forming Team RNJR, they were heading to Mistral to find out the cause of the Fall, and why it was even planned in the first place. To avenge Pyrrha… and Penny.
But then they ran into this Scorpion Faunus that was a bit… No, was definitely on the crazy side, saying that he was here to 'whisk her away'. Ruby didn't know why this guy wanted her so bad, nor why she was so important. Did it have something to do with her eyes? Apparently they were special and could shoot lasers that vaporize Grimm - something she's still trying to figure out how to replicate, and has failed with each attempt - so maybe that was why he was after her? But who sent him? He clearly doesn't answer to Cinder considering his response when the woman responsible for Pyrrha's death was brought into question… But he knows her. Did they work together?
She doesn't know.
And she probably will never know, because she was going to die. It angered her that this man enjoyed her moment of weakness and fear, his crazed smile and insane laugh would forever be ingrained into her memory. She shut her eyes tightly as the stinger came down, her friends calling out to her as time slowed, all sound vanishing as a single tear ran down her cheek.
'Dad, Uncle Qrow, Yang, Weiss, Blake, Pyrrha, Penny… I-I'm sorry…'
"IRON DEFENSE!"
Huh?
Ruby, despite herself, opened her eyes as a voice unknown to her yelled with great authority, a black blur shot down, it's trajectory… Aimed towards her?! The Silver Eyed Warrior let out a strangled gasp as a loud, rumbling BOOM! Echoed through the skies, the black blur turned white as it crashed in front of her…!
*CLANG*
Ruby covered her eyes with her forearm, protecting them from the dust and dirt created from the landing of… Whatever it was that landed in front of her. The cloud of dust settled, and what she saw took her breath away.
A boy, her age, 16 years old, stood on the back of a large avian-like creature, bigger than him, and everyone else here combined, with black feathers and dark purple steel like coating on it's head, wings, and talons. It wasn't a Grimm, it lacked the bone-like protrusions all Grimm possessed, and it was less monstrous looking, not deformed, or as black as night… The avian creature had it's left wing raised, coated in mysterious silver energy reminiscent of steel. Sparks flew as the Faunus' stinger pushed against the avian's wing… Said Faunus started giggling madly.
"Ohoho! And a new child has entered the fray! And with a mysterious creature of black at his beck and call… You remind me of my Mistress, yes! Those fiery eyes, the fierce scowl, it sends shivers down my spine! Gehahahahaha~!"
"Shut up! Corviknight, Air Slash!"
Corviknight cawed defiantly and pushed the crazed Faunus back with a shocking amount of strength and force, leaving the man open for an attack which the Raven Pokémon took advantage of. With a fierce swipe of its wing, white, crescent energy came to life, wind surrounding it's form as it easily cut through the ground beneath it, leaving a trench behind as it barreled towards the Faunus, who chuckled madly and leaped out of the way, the crescent wave grazing him slightly and flying off into the distance, cleaving a worn out building in two.
"W-Who is that?! And what is that thing?!" Ruby heard Jaune stutter in shock from behind her. While she found that really cool and wanted to rush up to the boy and ask who he was and what that bird was… She held back to catch her breath. After all, she was this close to losing her life.
"You okay?" Her head snapped up to see emerald eyes staring into her own, a young face, with messy maroon hair, held down by a twisted cap. Eyes laced with concern…
"Y-Yeah." Ruby stammered, despite herself. "I'm fine."
The boy nodded, and hopped off the bird's - Corviknight, she thinks he called it? - back. "Corviknight, use Air Slash again and follow up into Brave Bird! Keep that guy at bay!"
Corviknight nodded again and let out a shrill cry, white energy covering its wings again as it blasted off towards the enemy Faunus, firing barrages of crescent waves of wind, the Faunus dodging all the while, as slowly, Corviknight's entire form was covered in the same white energy, before blasting off and SLAMMING into the Faunus, sending them both crashing into another building.
Ruby watched in awe as Corviknight kept up with the slippery Scorpion Faunus, whenever the Faunus tried to lunge at it with it's stinger, the Raven Pokémon just batted it aside and continued rushing it with wind blades and rams, and the frustration on the Faunus' face was becoming quickly evident.
"So," Ruby jumped slightly as the boy walked up to her holding Crescent Rose, a smirk adorning his face, "I'm assuming this is yours?"
"My baby!" Ruby shrieked and blasted past the boy in a trail of rose petals, Crescent Rose vanishing from his hands and into hers in an instant. Ruby hugged her baby close, nuzzling the polearm and holding onto it like a lifeline, "Ooh! I won't let you leave my sights ever again!"
The boy raised a lone brow at the girl and snorted in amusement. Ruby blinked out of her moment and coughed in embarrassment, pink dusting her cheeks.
"Uhm-"
"Ruby!"
Three bodies collided into her own, the cloaked girl letting out a surprised squeak as she was squeezed tightly by her three friends, Jaune, Nora, and Ren. She smiled, letting out a sheepish chuckle, hugging her friends back.
"You had us worried there for a second!" Nora piped up, somehow managing to keep that energetic beat she was so famously known for.
"We're sorry… We were too weak, and it nearly cost you your life." Ren whispered as the group of friends separated.
"We won't let it happen again." Jaune said with a determined visage. Ruby looked at her friends and smiled, nodding, before they turned to face the mystery boy of the hour. Jaune stepped up with a smile, "Ah, thanks for the save. Ruby… Ruby was in serious danger before you came along." He held out a hand, "Jaune, Jaune Arc."
The boy eyed Jaune's hand with a calculating gaze, and then eyed Jaune himself silently, then Nora, then Ren, and finally Ruby. The silence made the teens nervous inside, before the boy let out a breath and smiled, grasping Jaune's hand firmly and shaking it. "Bronze Kamilo."
"Nora Valkyrie!" Nora greeted Bronze with a cheer and two-fingered salute. "Nice to meet you, Mystery Bird Boy!"
"'Mystery Bird Boy'-"
"Lie Ren." Ren nodded towards Bronze, "Apologies. Nora is… Excitable."
"Can tell." Bronze smirked, before looking towards Ruby, "And you're Ruby, yeah?"
"Yeah!" Ruby nodded with a bright smile. "Ruby, Ruby Rose."
"Right." Bronze hummed and dug through his duffle bag, "You guys aren't hurt too bad, right?"
"Just a few scratches and bruises… Our Aura is pretty low too.." Jaune rubbed the back of his neck, "If we can make this guy retreat or fall back ourselves we can replenish it with some rest."
"Aura?" Bronze blinked in shock, but quickly hid his surprise. 'So these guys can use Aura…? Was that what that light covering Ruby was? Interesting.' "Interesting…"
CRASH!
Everyone turned their attention to Corviknight who landed in front of Bronze's in a heap, letting out heavy breaths as it glared at the hunched over form of the enemy Faunus that, despite looking as winded, still giggled madly and looked to have a bunch of energy to spare. Battling those flying for hours, battling against those large black birds and then battling this Scorpion Guy must've finally caught up to Corviknight. Bronze let out a sigh, and patted Corviknight on the back.
"You did good, bud, it's time for you to rest now." Bronze took out Corviknight's Great Ball, which everyone eyed curiously.
Corviknight looked at Bronze in shock and shook his head wildly, but Bronze set a firm glare on the steel-type bird. "Corviknight. You need to rest. I thought we got over this pride thing." Corviknight gave Bronze a glare of his own, both not letting up. What seemed to go on for an uncomfortable amount of time ended when Corviknight let out an irate huff and lowered it's head. Bronze nodded in satisfaction and rested his head on Corviknight's. "Good. You did great, pal. Thanks." The scene caused the girls of Team RNJR to coo at the sight.
""Aweee~!""
"Return."
*Schworp!*
"W-What the?!"
""BIRDIE NO!""
Bronze ignored RNJR's reaction and hooked Corviknight's Great Ball to his belt, taking another Pokéball out in its place.
"Awe, is little birdie done playing already? We were just getting to the good part!" The Faunus whined. Outright whined. Like a child.
Bronze cringed and looked over his shoulder, sending a questioning gaze towards all of Team RNJR, who just shrugged in response. "I dunno. He's just weird." Ruby said.
Bronze shook his head and rolled the Pokéball around his fingers, "Look pal, I dunno who you are, and frankly, I don't care, but you're going to leave these guys alone."
"Oh, my friend, my name is Tyrian~!" The Faunus known as Tyrian clapped his hands together, grinning like a loon as his tail swayed lazily behind him. "And I'm afraid that won't happen… I was tasked to take her-" He gestured to Ruby with his tail, "-To my beautiful Mistress~! After all… One does not upset the Queen."
"'Queen?'" Ruby muttered in confusion.
"Probably his boss." Bronze hummed, "Whoever she is…"
"Now, I think we've had enough chatting, don't you agree?" Tyrian tilted his head as he hunched forward, tail poised to strike. Bronze shifted his feet, enlarging the Pokéball in his hand.
"Took the words right out of my-" Bronze didn't finish his sentence, his instincts yelled at him to move, and not a second too soon as Tyrian's stinger lunged at him, the crazed Faunus catching him off guard with the sudden change in speed. Bronze rolled across the ground and tossed the Pokéball into the air with haste, "GRENINJA, NIGHT SLASH!"
"Oh no you do-" Tyrian made to skewer Bronze before he could call out his 'mystery creature', but it was already too late. A blade of dark purple energy blocked his stinger, the Faunus' eyes widening as he was met with the smoldering glare of a bipedal ninja frog. Greninja pushed back and utilized Aerial Ace, with a burst of speed Greninja slammed his foot into Tyrian's stomach, sending him skidding across the settlement, before Greninja continued on the onslaught. Faunus and Pokémon crossing blades, creating a shower of sparks, moving as blurs of white and blue.
"Woah… That thing is fast!" Jaune watched on, barely able to keep up with the battle as Tyrian dodged a downward slash from Greninja, Night Slash digging into the ground with ease before the Ninja Pokèmon gave chase again.
"Not a thing." Bronze stated firmly, directing Jaune's attention to him. Bronze not taking his eyes off the battle for a second. "His name's Greninja. A Pokémon."
"P-o-ké… Mon?" Ruby and Nora let the words roll off their tongue, faces scrunching up in confusion.
Bronze nodded, "Pokémon. Otherwise known as Pocket Monsters." He eyed the group over his shoulder, "You guys don't have those?"
"No. I can't say we do." Ren shook his head, looking towards the battle between Greninja and Tyrian. "We've never heard of these… 'Pokémon'. But they seem quite powerful…"
"Hm." Bronze hummed and watched the fight again. On the outside he wore a mask of indifference, but on the inside… 'Oh, F*CK! THEY DON'T HAVE POKÉMON HERE! SHIT! DOES THAT MEAN I'M THE ONLY ONE WITH POKÉMON?! I PRACTICALLY RATTED MYSELF OUT EARLY! AND IF THEY DON'T HAVE POKÉMON… Then… Then that means…' He silently gulped. '... I'm not in Roria or any of the other regions… I'm… In a whole other dimension.'
Greninja blocked another fast swipe from Tyrian with his leg, slashing out at the Scorpion Faunus who swiftly dodged him again, but he did the same in turn. They both were equal in terms of speed, perception, and strength. Greninja held out his other webbed-hand, white energy forming and shaping into another blade, utilizing the move Cut, he pushed back against Tyrian and slammed his knee into the lunatic's gut, before launching a barrage of blurred slashes, a purple transparent light flashing with each strike dealt before Greninja ended his attack with a Aerial Ace to the stomach. Tyrian crashed into the ground, rolling across the dirty tiles. The Faunus stabbed his wrist blades into the ground to halt his momentum and prevent any further damage to both himself and his Aura. The Scorpion Faunus eyed the Pokémon with a crazed look… Which was actually pretty normal for him, all things considered.
Greninja stared at Tyrian with caution, gripping onto Cut and Night Slash tightly. Tyrian's manic grin grew a tad feral, the man flicked his wrists, and the wrist blades shifted and clicked, out coming two barrels. Greninja's eyes widened before a shower of bullets were fired from Tyrian's weapons. Bronze's jaw practically dropped at the new feature that was revealed.
"OH COME ON! ARE ALL WEAPONS HERE FREAKING GUNS?!" Bronze growled in frustration and thrusted his hand out. "Greninja, back out and use Double Team!"
"Ninja!" Greninja croaked, leaping back into a flip and sliding into a halt in front of Bronze. Tyrian lunged at Greninja, and Greninja did the same, except this time, Greninja's body began to flicker, and two other Greninja's appeared, and then another pair, and another, and another, and another! Soon, it was an entire swarm of Greninja dashing towards a wide-eyed Tyrian, 50 in total. "WATER SHURIKEN!" Bronze bellowed, all 50 Greninja slapping their hands onto the shuriken pouches on their legs, they concentrated, and pulled, before water shurikens, as the name suggests, shaped in their hands. All the Greninja then threw their shurikens at Tyrian. The Scorpion Faunus slid to a halt and immediately backpedaled as water shurikens rained down upon him, dodging and weaving, the sharp sawblades of water exploded upon contact with the ground, kicking up a cloud of dirt and debris, some grazed Tyrian, and others exploded mid-air as Tyrian fired bullets to counteract them.. Until a stray shuriken slammed into his chest and sent him hurtling into an unfinished building.
Everyone, save for Bronze and Greninja himself, watched the display in awe. Completely shell shocked by the clever utilization of both abilities.
"That… Was.. AWESOME!" Nora exploded, jumping in the air with wide arms, a wide, pearly white grin stretching across her face.
"IT WAS LIKE BLAKE AND SUN'S SEMBLANCE COMBINED AND THEN BUFFED!" Ruby bounced on the balls of her feet in excitement.
"Incredible…" Was all that left Ren's lips.
"So… Strong.." Jaune blinked.
Bronze, meanwhile, was basking in the glory, rubbing the bottom of his nose cockily with his thumb, the Roria Native turned towards the Hunters-In-Training with a shit-eating grin. "Well of course~! I raised and trained 'em after all! Greninja is awesome~!"
"So cool…" Team RNJR, save for Ren, muttered silently.
Greninja simply rolled his eyes.
"Now then…" Bronze clapped his hands together and smirked, "Let's be on our merry w-"
"GREN!" / ""BRONZE!""
The sickening sound of flesh being pierced echoed throughout the abandoned settlement, Bronze blinked in confusion before pain lanced up his spine. He wheezed in confusion, arching his head back to see a battered, but madly chuckling Tyran hunched behind him, the Scorpion Faunus' tail embedded in his back. Bronze's eyes widened in shock, pain, and horror, before Tyrian ripped his stinger out of the trainer's back, blood spurting out of the wound. Bronze coughed, and fell to his knees. Tyrian flicked the blood off the tip of his stinger, and hummed in satisfaction and slight confusion.
"Hmhm. He came here to fight without any Aura? Peculiar…" Tyrian chuckled, his tail swaying about lazily. ".. But interesting. Interesting, but foolish! Gehehehehe-"
"GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!"
Tyrian bent his back at an inhuman angle as Greninja came running up behind him, Night Slash forming with the intent to cleave the Faunus in half. Greninja wore an expression of pure, unadulterated rage at the sight of his partner's injury, Tyrian laughed in elation and flipped away when Greninja went in for another wide slash. RNJR gripped their weapons tightly and prepared to rush into the fray, until Greninja silently turned his head to regard them and glared, an expression so cold it kept them rooted in place, before blasting off with a burst of speed, his legs and arms coated in Aerial Ace as he clashed blades and exchanged kicks with Tyrian across the settlement, each attack meant to severely harm or even kill the other. Greninja leapt out of the way of a stream of bullets fired by Tyrian, and dismissed Night Slash in exchange for Water Shuriken. The blades of water whizzing through the air, Tyrian cutting them in half with relative ease, before they were back at clashing blades, Tyrian grinning madly and Greninja scowling all the while.
"Gyahahahahaha! Oh~! Yes! A powerful creature you are, you deeply care for your master, yes? He is given a mere flesh wound and you're reverting to your primal urges! Gehahahahaha~! The murderous glint in your eye is exhilarating!" Tyrian let out another laugh of joy and elation as Greninja croaked in irritation and spin-kicked him away, the Ninja Pokémon chasing after him mere seconds after the attack was dealt.
Team RNJR, meanwhile, ran up to Bronze and crouched next to his body. Ren turned the boy over gently, grimacing when the Pokémon Trainer let out a hiss of discomfort.
"Why didn't you use your Aura?!" Ruby lightly shook his body, staring at the boy with a look of panic adorning her face.
"M'donthave…" Bronze slurred, wincing and wheezing, "C-Can't… Use… A.. Aura…"
"And I thought Fearless Leader was fearless…"
"Nora!"
"What?"
Jaune gave Bronze a heated look, "You came here to fight without your Aura unlocked?! What's wrong with you?!" At that, everyone save Bronze looked at Jaune blankly, the blonde knight looking at his friends in bewilderment. "W-What?"
"L-Look… I'll be fine. 'Tis a flesh wound-" Bronze joked lightly and tried to laugh, but it only ended up in pained coughs. "-N-Nevermind… Hurts to laugh.. Ow."
"I'm going to unlock his Aura to heal the wound." Ren said, lifting Bronze up slightly to rest the boy on his knee.
"Then we'll help Greninja!" Ruby said determinedly, hefting up Crescent Rose.
"Uhm," Nora laughed nervously at that, "I'm pretty sure from the look he gave us that he wants us to stay back."
Ruby frowned for a second, before her lips twitched upwards into a smirk. "Then It's good thing that this scythe..." Ruby cocked Crescent Rose like a shotgun. "... Is also a gun!"
"Badass…" Bronze managed to groan out before Ren shushed him.
With that said, Ruby activated her Semblance and blasted off in a shower of rose petals. Landing on one of the stable building rooftops, she stabbed Crescent Rose into the roof's tiles to keep it steadied and peered through the scope of her weapon, tracking the movements of Greninja and Tyrian's fast-paced battle, she gently placed her finger on the trigger, but scowled when she couldn't get a proper angle in. On Greninja's end, the bipedal frog sent an Aerial Ace powered roundhouse kick towards Tyrian who blocked it with his forearm, and took the opportunity to grasp Greninja's ankle and throw the Ninja Pokémon over his shoulder. Greninja's feet landed on the ground. He slid, and backed up into a flip, before performing a few hand signs, much to Tyrian's confusion, and slamming a webbed hand into the ground, conjuring up a cloud of black smoke utilizing Smokescreen. Tyrian's eyes widened for a fraction of a second as he coughed and wheezed, waving his hand about to clear the smoke, until the rushed padding of multiple footsteps caught his attention.
The Faunus backed into his instincts and tilted his head to the side as Greninja's leg sailed past his shoulder blade, Tyrian smirked and lashed out with his tail, only to gaped in surprise when 'Greninja' flickered out of existence upon contact. His brain rattled inside his skull when he felt a hard knee slam into the side of skull, sending the Faunus flying out of the smoke cloud and tumbling across the floor. Tyrian slid to a halt, shifting onto all fours as he watched Greninja walk out the smoke cloud, with a twirl of the frog's wrist, Cut manifested in it's webbed grasp. Tyrian's manic grin widened until a bullet whizzed by his head. The Faunus hummed, peering over his shoulder as more bullets flew at him, which he casually deflected with his tail.
Greninja twirled Cut in his hand, but blinked when a bright glow entered his peripheral. He shot a glance towards it, and blinked when he saw the glow come from Bronze, it was a warm crimson, flowing across his trainer's body like a calming flame, which perturbed the teenaged Hunters, seeing as how Aura usually reflected rippling water.. But nevertheless, they paid it no mind. Then, as quick as the light came, it faded, seemingly being absorbed back into his body.
"Ohoho~! They've unlocked the boy's Aura!" Tyrian supplied gleefully, and Greninja eyed the Faunus with a questioning glare.
"Ninja?" Greninja growled and Tyrian tilted his head towards the Ninja Pokémon with an ominous smile.
"Why, Aura! The light of one's soul, as one would say… They act as one's shield and give them strength." Tyrian answered, as if understanding Greninja's response, his arms spread out wide, "That is the power we hold~! But it is nothing compared to my wonderful Mistress~!"
Greninja narrowed his eyes at Tyrian and threw a Water Shuriken at the insane individual, something the skilled scorpion nimbly dodged. Tyrian giggled and tilted his head further, eyeing Greninja silently, and shifting his gaze to Bronze, who was now on his knees and was guarded by Jaune, Ren, and Nora. Greninja stepped in front of them, as if trying to protect Bronze from even being looked at by Tyrian, only causing the maddened Faunus' smile to grow to unnatural proportions. The madman broke out into hysterical laughter, as if finding the whole situation amusing, and stepped back.
"Yes! It is decided! I shall make my leave and report to my Mistress! Hmhm, she will be displeased without the Rose being brought to her… But, she will find interest…" Tyrian pointed to Bronze and the boy flinched at the sudden attention. ".. In you."
"... What-"
"You all live another day!" Tyrian laughed with glee and gave them a dramatic bow, before spinning on his heel and sprinting off. "I bid you farewell~! Gyahahahahahaha~~!"
"GREN-!" "Urgh-!" "Bronze! Don't move. Your Aura is still working on healing the wound…" Greninja paused in his steps to follow after Tyrian, but looked over his shoulder to see his wounded master. The Ninja Pokémon curled his hands into fists, regarding the path where the Scorpion Faunus ran off… He scowled, and turned on his heel, leaping over to the group, Ruby doing the same, using the recoil from Crescent Rose to soften her landing. Both Pokémon and Huntress rushed up to JNR and Bronze, who was being held up right by Jaune and Ren.
"Are you gonna be okay?" Ruby asked, eyeing the tear in Bronze's clothes where the wound was located.
Bronze simply chuckled and gave her a weary grin. "I'll be fine." He then looked towards who was looking at his partner in worry. Bronze gave him a thumbs up and the bipedal frog could only let out an exasperated croak.
"Who was that guy, anyway…" Jaune grumbled, his face scrunching up into a grimace as he sheathed Crocea Mors.
"And why was he after Ruby…" Ren sighed, eyeing Bronze carefully. ".. I suppose they may be after Bronze too, now."
"Yaaaaaaaay…"
"And where can we get our own Pokémon?!" Nora bounced on her feet, with a grin.
"Nora."
"Sorry~!"
"I think some explanations are in order…" A gruff voice spoke up, and the group of teens Pokémon flinched in surprise before looking towards the voice to reveal an equally gruff looking man with sweptback black hair, burning vermillion eyes and growing facial hair, wearing a coat consisting of whites and greys, with a dark red tattered cape hung loosely over his shoulder, and a greatsword strapped to his back. The man's sudden appearance causes Ruby's eyes to widen in shock and recognition.
"Uncle Qrow?!
"A lot of explanations." The man known as Qrow smirked at his niece, before eyeing Bronze with a hint of curiosity, but mostly steel, mostly indicating Bronze didn't have a choice, here… Causing the boy to groan.
"Yaaaaaaaay…"
Whoo! That was a doozy, wasn't it?Yo! Baka here, with a new story! This time... A Pokémon and RWBY Crossover~! With the recent Pokémon Presents, showcasing new information about Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, ane Legends: Arceus - Which I am HYPED for by the way - It inspired me to do this story!
There was also "Trainer to Huntsman". Another Pokémon/RWBY Crossover that's pretty neat and you should totally check out~
For those confused with the beginning, allow me to give some insight! I decided to try something different with this and go with Hoopa, who can literally make portals to OTHER DIMENSIONS! The way our protagonist, Bronze, gets into the RWBY Universe! And I also started midway through Volume 4, instead of the usual... Protagonist being dropped off in Volume 1, wowing Ozpin and getting into Beacon, and then wowing everyone else with his or her cool Pokémon.
And this entire scene is basically from the late Pokémon Game from Roblox; Pokémon Brick Bronze. (May you Rest In Peace).
I loved playing Brick Bronze whenever I had the time before it was deleted. Whenever I'd get home from school, I'd hop on my phone, boot up Roblox, and play it to see how I fared against the gyms! And catch other Pokémon, of course. So why not use the final battle against Team Eclipse and Cypress as a plot point to ISEKAI our player character into the world of bloody evolution!
So, yeah, the OC, Bronze - So ORIGINAL, I know! - takes the fall and gets thrown into the portal instead of Jake, who pushed Tess out of the way of the crate instead and got yeeted into the Loomian Legacy world.
And, yes, Corviknight wasn't in the original Brick Bronze before it got deleted... And I'm basing Bronze's team a bit off the team I had from my experience with Brick Bronze, at least what I can remember from it... But seriously! Corviknight is so FREAKING COOL! I LOVE HIM! So I added him to the team.
Hope you enjoyed, and make sure to leave a review! Would appreciate critiscm and all that, so I can improve on my writing...
.. And put a rain check on Legacy.
