My Hero Academia: True Justice
Chapter 1: Decisions
The sprawling metropolis of Saint's Valley was alight with activity and excitement. The sun slowly began to set, and the people were now coming out of their homes and getting off the clock from a long day of work. For most people in the city, these hours meant many people heading home to enjoy the rest of the night with their families or heading out on the town to enjoy a night to themselves and hopefully get lucky and not spend the night alone.
In the more middle to lower middle class area of the city known to many of its occupants as The Sprawl, nights were when the city truly came to life. Saint's Valley was unique in the fact that unlike other cities that were stationed in one state, Saint's Valley spread over three. Saint's Valley was an independent city state created by the infamous Pendragon Industries, the number one company in the States whose influence stretches over a multitude of industries like medical, construction, robotics, and hero work. They established Saint's Valley several years ago when the company hit its stride and now Saint's Valley is recognized as one of the few places on the states and possibly the world where anyone and everyone could enjoy a good life regardless of their social standing. Stretching over Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana it's no surprise that the Southern American influence was heavy, which often showed in the city's culture, architecture, and the food.
Speaking of, in The Sprawl there was one spot where everyone in the city came to. Even the highest ranking executives from Pendragon would frequently visit. Aces High Sports Bar and Grill was the number one spot in all of Saint's Valley where anyone could come and have a good meal, a good drink, and enjoy a friendly atmosphere. But don't cause trouble or you will get tossed out.
Inside Aces High, the people of Saint's Valley started to arrive to try and beat the heavy crowd that would be coming later on in the night. But even if there wasn't a huge crowd, there was still a decent amount of people that were sitting inside and enjoying a good meal. This story revolves around a young man who was enjoying his last night cooking and serving in his mother's restaurant.
The young man was Lucas "Luc" Santiago, the youngest son of Aces High Owner. His older brother Adam was a construction manager and had already left the house a few years ago but tonight, Luc was doing everything he could to make it a good night and make sure his mother and the staff members he had come to know as family would be good once he left. It wasn't going to be easy for the restaurant lose its head chef. Even if that chef was only 15 years old.
Luc was a young man with a face that many women he had come to know would consider very handsome. And considering the number of women who would come through the restaurant to try and ask him out, he was inclined to agree. He had a dark, caramel colored skin tone with dark green eyes that had small flecks of gold in them. His hair was black with slight green tint to it that he usually kept styled in cornrows up top and the sides of his head being shaved. This style made his eyes stand out more, according to his mother.
Luc had an incredibly muscular body. He had been doing martial arts since he was 4 years old, and it had shown in his physique. He stood at around 6'0 and was muscled from head to toe but if someone were to look under his clothes, they would see several scars running along his body. He called them his warrior marks, something that both he and his mentorswere proud of.
Currently he was dressed in a pair of dark blue jeans with a black belt and brown boots. A red t-shirt was over his chest and seemed to be tight enough to outline his muscular chest and abs, but his chest was currently covered by a black apron. This was his outfit when he usually worked at Aces High.
Luc grabbed a tray full of food that had just been made by the kitchen and headed to the table, when he reached it, he knew the family that he was serving as they were regulars that had been coming to the restaurant since he started working there.
"Hey guys welcome back," Luc said greeting the family of four, "Okay we have chicken and waffles." He said placing said plate in front of the father Clay.
"Fish and chips with sweet potato fries and a side of tartar sauce." He said placing the plate in front of the mother Crystal.
"Crispy chicken tacos for the lovely lady in blue." Luc said smiling to the family's daughter Chelsea who was a year younger than Luc and loved dressing in blue clothing. Her cheeks seemed to turn pink at the complement Luc gave her which made him chuckle.
"And finally, kid's Quesadilla for the high roller," he said putting the dish in front of the Joe, the youngest member of the family who seemed to pout when he got his food, "Don't worry big man, I added extra cheese and chicken into it just for you." He said making the small boy smile wide before he attacked the food in front of him.
Luc chuckled, "Enjoy guys." he said even though the family already started eatingwhich made him smile. He always enjoyed seeing someone eat his food.
"Man, this stuff is so good!" Joe said with his mouth full of cheese.
Clay nodded along with his son, "It always is son. Kind of a shame that you'll be leaving tomorrow. We won't be able to taste your cooking for a while."
Luc laughed, "Don't worry, I may be leaving but all of my recipes will be staying here with the rest of the crew."
"It's still kind of sucks though," Chelsea said without looking at Luc, "I'm going to miss you." She said with the statement not going unnoticed by the people around her.
"I-I mean we're all going to miss you! Everyone here pretty much knows you!" Chelsea said trying to save face.
Luc smiled and crossed his arms, "Well, I'm going to miss you all too. But if I plan on becoming the best kind of hero I can be, then I need to get the best education and training I can. And that means going to UA."
Joe nodded and jumped up from his seat, "Oh yeah! Luc is gonna be the best hero in the world! He's gonna take down all the bad guys!" he said throwing a couple of kicks and punches. Luc chuckled at the boy's eagerness and placed a hand on his head, giving him a gently push to get him to sit back down.
"Save the fandom for when I actually become a hero, Joey." Luc said making the entire table laugh.
As Luc was enjoying the time with the family before, he felt a pair of hands wrap around his left arm. He looked over to see his mother Gina next to him. Gina Santiago was a beautiful woman in her late 40s with long black hair that had some silver streaks running through it. She had a fit and athletic body with white skin that had a light tan to it and blue green eyes. She was dressed in a pair of blue jeans with a long-sleeved dark brown shirt with a black apron over it and matching shoes of course. She currently had her hair tied in a stylish ponytail.
"I'm going to have to agree with you all there. It's going to be really lonely without my baby here next to me." Gina said as she hugged Luc.
Luc smiled and threw an arm over his mother's shoulders, "Don't worry mama. I'll be coming back to Sai-Val sooner than you think. This is my home after all."
Gina smiled, "Oh I know, I just worry. My baby boy is going to a whole new country to go to school to become a hero. That's a dangerous field to be going into." She said with a small frown.
Luc shrugged, "We live in dangerous time mama, you never know when a dangerous villain or criminal might go on a rampage. It could happen at any time. Besides, it's no more dangerous than what Adam does." He said referring to the armed protection services his older brother did for a living.
"Luc's got a point," Crystal said, "The world is a dangerous place, especially here in Sai-Val, even with all the heroes that Pendragon has working for them."
Luc gave off a small growl. He didn't particularly care for the so called "heroes" that Pendragon employed. While a small handful of the heroes were decent enough, the majority of them were mainly concerned with their own image and being popular. None of the heroes even came down to The Sprawl which was something that Luc didn't appreciate. How could someone call themselves a hero if they aren't willing to fight for everyone? That was one of the reasons why he wanted to become a hero. To change the way heroes are viewed in Sai-Val.
"Well, all I can say is that if there were heroes like Luc around, I would feel a lot more comfortable." Crystal said with the rest of her family agreeing with her.
Luc smiled, "Thanks guys, I really appreciate it."
Gina gave her youngest a kiss on the cheek which made him roll his eyes, "Well, whatever walk of life you take, just know that me, Adam, and everyone here is behind you. Heck, if you walk outside, you'll probably have the entire Sprawl behind you."
Luc felt his face warm up slightly at his mother's comments, "Well, thanks mama. But I need to pass the entrance exam first. Let's just be happy that Uncle Thiago is willing to put me up while I'm there."
Luc's uncle Thiago was his mother's older brother. A hardworking yet stubborn older man who had moved to Japan several years ago when he met his wife Kasumi. This eventually led to Luc's older cousins, Niko, and Erika, and his younger cousins Kotaro and Shotaro. Luc hadn't seen his extended family in a few years, but he was happy to reconnect with them again. And meet the kids for the first time.
Gina nodded before she slapped Luc's back, "Well while I agree with that, you still got work to do while you're here. So, get back to the kitchen young man!"
Luc turned to his mother and bowed dramatically, "Oui, mademoiselle." He said jokingly playing off his mother's French heritage. Gina and the other's laughed before Luc made his way back to the kitchen. Tonight, would be the last time he would have the chance to cook in this kitchen, so he was planning on enjoying it and cooking some good food for the people of Saint's Valley.
Luc made it back to the kitchen and worked alongside the other chefs in the Aces High kitchen. It was a long night of busy orders, loud music, and sweaty cooks bumping into each other. Just another typical night at Aces High but it was something that Luc loved doing. Aces High and all the people in The Sprawl that he had come to know over his life, they were the reason that he was becoming a hero. The men, women, and children who lived here were good people but the heroes who lived on high didn't feel like The Sprawl was worth their time, but Luc saw things differently.
To him, it didn't matter where someone lived or the life they led, everyone needed a hero in their life. And Luc was going to be that hero.

"Finally, I'm in Japan." Luc sighed out as he stretched his body. He had no issue with flying, but he didn't like planes. They were just so uncomfortable to him, especially on his back. But now he was on Japanese soil and honestly, he felt excited. Not only to see his family members and take on UA but also to experience life in Japan. But saying goodbye to his mother and friends back in Sai-Val still remained in his mind. Not to mention the final gift his mentors gave him before he left.
His mentors had been training him since he was a child. Since Luc had never met his birth father and was a late bloomer getting his Quirk, he often got picked on and beat up by some of the richer kids in Saint's Valley whenever he went to the upper areas with his mom and brother. One day after getting severely beaten up, Luc's mentor, Oliver Rourke, found him and patched him up. After seeing potential in Luc, despite getting the crap kicked out of him, Oliver took Luc under his wing and taught him everything he knew and not just Oliver, but also his wives. Yeah, apparently Oliver was a big time Polygamist, something that was rather common in his family. And since Saint's Valley was technically its own city state, he was allowed to practice his ways there. His wives Selena, Nyssa, and Shizuku were all incredibly strong martial artists in their own right and had assisted Oliver in training Luc, which allowed the young man to become one of the strongest martial artists in his part of the US. They had become more than mentors to him, they were like family and Oliver had become more of a father to Luc than his own birth father.
The day he was supposed to leave for Japan, Oliver and his wives literally broke into Luc's room at 3 in the morning and took him to their home. As was tradition with Nyssa's family, the men and women would get tattoos on their body to symbolize their growth and since they had nothing left to teach Luc, he would get tattoos too. They stung like a bitch, and he was still feeling sore from the old school needles on his body but the new images that now adorned his body made him feel proud of all the work that he had done over the past few years working with Oliver and his wives.
Now resting on his right shoulder blade was an ornate bronze dagger with the image of a wolf head as the hilt. The dagger was meant to represent danger while the wolf head represented guardianship. The dagger was now Luc's personal symbol, meant to represent his growth into someone who would willing to do what needed to be done for the good of innocent people. The other tattoo that was marked onto Luc was the image of a swirling dragon that ran up the length of his entire right arm. The dragon was something that all the members of Oliver's family bore, something to symbolize wisdom and good fortune.
The world that they all lived in wasn't a good one or an easy one but being able to rely on the skills you learn in life and the good people in your life, you will be able to find your way in the world. That was something that Luc had always taken to heart. Oliver taught him that somehow, someway, a person needs to be able to rise up and fight for what was important to them. And that is exactly what Luc was going to do. Become the kind of hero that The Sprawl needed.
After his tattoo ceremony, Luc made his way back home and finished up his packing. After a lot of goodbyes and a lot of tears, Luc said goodbye to his mother, friends, and his regulars that often came to the restaurant all wishing him the best of luck and many already claiming to be his number one fan.
Now he was in Japan and already missing the people back home, but he knew that he would have to do well so he could make them all proud.
Luc grabbed his suitcase and threw his duffle bag over his shoulder before making his way through the terminal. As he walked, an upbeat pop song played throughout the entire terminal. Even though there was no music video playing, Luc knew who was singing. His older cousin Erika, currently the Number One Idol in Japan.
"Nicely done Erika-nee, your songs are still as upbeat as I remember." Luc said as he continued on his way. As he made his way outside, Luc noticed a lot of people in Japan had obvious mutant Quirks or dressed in colorful and flashy clothes. It was times like this he appreciated his own, low-key style and no one would guess what his Quirk is until he showed it to them. As for his clothes, he was currently wearing a pair of black jeans with dark brown boots and a braided belt keeping the jeans up. Over his chest he wears a dark burgundy long-sleeved shirt and a hooded, dark blue, denim jacket. Overall, he looked good but nothing that anyone who stop and stare at. The only real unique thing on him was a beaded onyx bolo bracelet he wore on his left wrist and the black and gold cross that he wore around his neck that carried a green gem in the center.
As Luc walked, a group of girls ran past him with one nearly tripping over her own feet. Luc dropped his bags and flew over to the girl to catch her in his arms before she hit the ground. Luc smiled at the girl and helped back up.
"Careful there miss, wouldn't want you to get hurt." He said as he set the girl back on her feet. The girl seemed a little stunned at the sudden action of being in Luc's arms and even her friends around her seemed shocked by his appearance.
"Oh, um, thank you for catching me." The girl said before she gave a slight bow.
Luc smiled and bowed as well, "Don't worry about it, just happy to help. But what's the rush?" he asked.
All of the girls seemed to break out into enormous smiles, "Sorry it's just, Kagami Niko is outside the terminal and we all want to grab a few pics before he leaves!" The girl said before she and her friends let out loud shrieks and began running off again.
Luc blinked but them smirked, "Kagami Niko huh? This should be interesting." he said as he made his way out of the terminal.

"Well, should have seen this coming." Luc said with a sigh as he gazed upon the enormous crowd of women surrounding a single male a few years older than Luc standing beside a bright red Mustang Sports car. The young man had platinum blonde hair and green eyes and had a fit, muscular build. He was dressed in a pair of faded blue jeans with brown work boots and a grey Henley shirt. He wore a set of bracelets on each wrist with a cross necklace around his neck and a tan felt Stetson cowboy hat on his head.
This was Kagami Niko, one if not the most popular male models in all of Japan and beyond even since his name was growing overseas as well. He was also Luc's oldest cousin and the eldest son of his uncle Thiago and his wife Kasumi. When they got married, Luc's uncle took his wife's last name since she had no living relatives.
Luc smiled at his cousin as he posed for pictures and signed a few autographs with the women around him but as soon as he laid eyes on Luc, he gently moved them all aside and made his way towards Luc.
"I see you still know how to draw a crowd, Niko-ani." Luc said as he made his way to his cousin.
Niko shrugged, "What can I say? I tend to be the center of a lot of attention no matter where I go." He said with a chuckle as the girls around them seemed to swoon at his actions. One of the things that Luc appreciated about his cousin was while he did enjoy the attention, he got from being a male model, he wasn't cocky about it. He just enjoyed it for a bit then moved on.
Luc shook his head and chuckled, "Well, I guess some of us just have that certain spark to them."
Niko scoffed, "You're one to talk." He retorted making Luc shrug. The younger male dropped his bags and wrapped his arms around his cousin in a tight hug with the elder male doing the same with a chuckle.
"It's good to see you Ani." Luc said.
Niko laughed as they separated and held Luc's face in his hands, "Lucas Santiago. My cousin and future hero who has come all the way from America to attend UA." He said proudly.
Luc felt his face grow warm as he rubbed the back of his head, "Thank Ani but I'm not in UA yet. I need to pass the Entrance Exam first."
Niko scoffed and let go of Luc's face before throwing an arm over his shoulders, "Please, I've seen you in action and that test has nothing on you." He said as the women around him started taking pictures and whispering among themselves.
"Wait, that guy is related to Niko-sama?"
"And he's from America?"
"He came all the way here to go to UA?"
"Wait, isn't that the guy who caught you earlier?"
"Yeah, it is. I didn't think he would be related to Niko-sama."
Luc chuckled at the comments he heard from the women around him, he knew that his cousin was popular and from the way the women around him spoke, they definitely weren't expecting him to have another sibling from America.
"Well, what do you say we get you home? I can just imagine the jetlag you must be feeling." Niko said as he led Luc to the car.
"Thanks Niko-ani." Luc said as he threw his stuff in the back of Niko's car and hopped in the front seat.
Niko turned to the women around them and gave them his signature smile, "Ladies, I truly thank you for the time that you have given me today, but I have to make sure that my cousin gets home okay." He said as he gave the group of women a bow. They all seemed to understand what Niko was saying and said their goodbyes, except for a group of girls around Luc's age.
"Um, Niko-sama. I know you said that you needed to get your cousin home, but could we get a quick picture? It would really mean a lot to us." One of the girls said.
Niko looked over to Luc who gave him a smile and a nod. Whenever he would see his older cousin, even for small moments, he would always get asked for pictures and autographs. Luc didn't mind. It was part of his lifestyle and Luc understood that.
Niko took a quick group pic, or three, with the girls before he finally bid them goodbye and got in the car. He revved the engine and drove into the coming traffic of Mustafu. As the drove, Luc rolled down the window and took in a deep breath of the wind flying by his face. It was still an unreal feeling that he was in Japan. And Mustafu no less. This was where his Hero journey would begin.
"I can see that you are already excited to be here." Niko said.
Luc nodded, "I am. I can't believe that after all this time I'm finally here."
Niko chuckled, "Well it's good to see you again cousin. How did Auntie Gina take you leaving? And Adam-nii-san?" he said. Niko was three years younger than Luc's older brother Adam, so he referred to him the same way Luc referred to Niko.
"Adam took it rather well and just wished me luck. Mom took it a little less well. She cried pretty much the entire as I was leaving. Luckily abuela was there to keep her in check." Luc said with Niko nodding along. Luc had a lot of interesting heritage that he got from his family. His grandmother immigrated to the United States from Panama when she was a child and lived in Saint's Valley her entire life. She met Luc's grandfather who was French-Italian but was raised in the States and after that, they got married and had Luc's mother and her two older brothers. On his dad's side, even though Luc had never met the man, his mother was very adamant in him knowing where his heritage was.
Apparently, his father was born in The Congo, in central Africa. He didn't really know what his father did for a living but whatever it was, allowed him to come and go from Africa to America on a monthly basis. Which was how he and Luc's mother met. Their meeting was a fleeting one which resulted in Luc. Even though Gina was already a single mother with Adam, she made it her mission to raise both her boys the best way she could, and she did it very well.
Luc did often wonder what kind of man his father was, but he had a great life, and he was thankful for everything that he had.
"Well, that's good to know. So how have you been doing? Any ladies back in Saint's Valley you leave heartbroken?" Niko asked with a teasing grin.
Luc huffed, "According to my mother, there are a lot of women back home that were heartbroken to see me leave. But I don't know if there was any meaning to that." Luc said with a smirk knowing full well of his so called "fans" but unlike other guys who were more than happy to take advantage of the fact that they had so many girls pining after them, Luc more or less didn't really care. Sure, he did like the attention every now and then, but he wasn't the kind of guy to go out of his way seeking any of it.
Niko laughed, "Wow cousin, you are something else. But were any of these girls special?" he asked.
Luc shook his head, "No not really. I'm still on the market," he said looking over at his elder cousin, "How about you? Find anyone special yet?" he asked.
What most people didn't know about Niko was that he was Bi-sexual, he was attracted both men and women. While Niko didn't outright state his sexuality, he wasn't ashamed of it either. He wouldn't hide who he was and that was another thing that Luc admired about his cousin. He didn't let anything change how he viewed himself or how he felt inside.
Niko shook his head, "Nope, not yet. I guess we'll both have to keep looking until we find the right person." He said with Luc nodding along with him. While Luc was open to looking for love, his main priority was making sure that he was ready for the UA Entrance Exam which was not going to be easy.
After about 20 minutes, Niko had driven Luc up to the front of a modest looking home with a lush garden in the front and a stone pathway. The roof had terracotta roof tiles and all the makings of a lovely family home. Niko parked his car and cut the engine, Luc got out and grabbed his bags.
"Wow, the place looks great." Luc said.
Nico followed after Luc and threw an arm over his shoulder, "Been a few years since you been back here huh," he said getting a nod from Luc, "Well, the family home did go through a bit of a remodel but it's still the way that Mom and Dad want it." He said as they reached the front door. Nico went ahead and opened the door for the both of them and Luc stepped in. The home itself was rather simple with a large family room that had a carpeted rug on the floor and a large TV, a well-sized kitchen off to the side, and from what Luc could see several different rooms down two hallways most likely where Luc's Aunt and Uncle as well as his younger cousins slept.
As Luc and Niko walked in, sitting in the family room watching two younger boys playing on the rug in front of her was a lovely woman in her late 30s with long platinum blonde hair that she kept in a single braid over her shoulder, bright green eyes, and the same complexion as Niko. She had a motherly smile on her face as she watched the children play dressed in a simple pair of white capri shorts that went down to her knees and a pink blouse.
This was Kagami Kasumi, Luc's Aunt and Niko's mother. Playing on the rug in front of her were Luc's youngest cousins Kotaro and Shotaro. Due to them being twins, nearly everything about them was identical. Their short hair, fair complexion, green eyes, even their red and green shorts and shirts with their initials on it they were wearing. The only thing that separated them from each other was that Kotaro had short blonde hair like his mother while Shotaro carried short black hair like his father.
Kasumi looked up from her two youngest son's playing to see Niko and Luc walk in, "Ara, ara look who it is." She said as she stood up from her seat.
"Hey mama." Niko said as he approached his mother and embraced her in a hug.
"Good to see you Niko-chan," Kasumi said as she and Niko separated, "Nice of you to come and see your mother every now and then."
"Wow, way to make me feel guilty mama," Niko said getting a giggle out of Kasumi, "Besides, it's not like Erika comes here anymore than I do."
Kasumi shrugged, "Well, I guess I just feel a little empty nest syndrome without my eldest children here."
"Well, at least you still have Kotaro and Shotaro to help with that Auntie." Luc said.
Kasumi looked over at her youngest nephew and gave him a large smile, "Oh Lu-chan!" she said wrapping him in a tight hug.
Luc chuckled as he separated from his aunt, "It's good to see you Auntie. Still as lovely as ever."
"Oh Lu-chan, you always did have a way with words." Kasumi said with a chuckle.
Luc shrugged, "I work as a chef. I need to be good with my words to get people to buy more."
Niko nodded, "Huh, I guess that makes sense."
Luc laughed, "Thanks again for putting me up auntie. I really appreciate it"
Kasumi waved him off, "Don't even worry about it. You're family and we take care of each other. You stay here as long as you want."
"Thanks Auntie," Luke said with a smile before his gaze turned to the two children that were playing behind Kasumi, "Wow, I can't believe how much Shotaro, and Kotaro have grown."
Kasumi nodded, "Oh yes, it's been a while since you have seen them, hasn't it?" she said getting a nod out of Luc.
"Sho-kun, Ko-kun, come here. I want you to meet someone." Kasumi said calling to her two youngest.
Shotaro and Kotaro stood up and toddled their way over to their mother, due to them only being about 2 and a half years old they were still a little wobbly on their feet.
Kasumi crouched down to look her youngest children in the eye, "Sho-kun, Ko-kun, I want you both to meet someone special." She said motioning to Luc.
Luc set his bags down and kneeled down to look at the younger kids, Shotaro gazed up at the elder boy with a curious look, but Kotaro looked like he was about to burst into tears.
Luc gave them a kind smile, "It's great to see you both again. Last time I saw you both, you were just babies."
Shotaro blinked, "Who are you?" he asked aloud.
Luc chuckled, "I don't blame you for not knowing who I am. My name is Luc. I'm your cousin from America."
Shotaro immediately smiled and Kotaro looked like he began to warm up to Luc, "Wow! So, you're our family?" Shotaro asked.
Luc nodded, "That's right. Your papa is my mama's older brother. I came to Japan so I can get into a hero school."
Kotaro slowly walked up to Luc, "Y-you're going to be a hero?" he asked quietly.
Luc nodded again, "Yep. I'm going to work hard so that I can be a really strong hero." He said. Both boys seemed to brighten at the thought of having a hero in the family and began pulling on Luc's arms to get him to play with them and tell them all about the different heroes he knew.
Kasumi giggled and picked both of the boys up in her arms, "Now, now you two. Luc has had a long flight and he needs to rest," she said looking over at Luc and Niko, "Niko-chan, take Lu-chan to his room so he can rest up." Niko nodded and grabbed the bag that Luc had on the ground. After patting Shotaro and Kotaro's heads as a small goodbye. Luc followed Niko down one of the hallways to the spare room at the end. Luc entered and was happy with what he saw. It had a bed, a dresser, large round mirror, and a small wardrobe that he could use to hold his clothes up. Niko placed Luc's bag in the room and gave him some time unpack and unwind.
Luc nodded as he placed his bag down on the bed. The entrance exam was a week away, but Luc wasn't the kind of guy to play it safe. So, every moment that he had before the exam he would use to make sure that his physical skills were at their peak and that his Quirk usage was on track. He didn't know what the entrance exam would entail so he wanted to make sure that he was ready for everything.
"Well now, nice to see that you were able to make it here easy."
Luc looked up at the source of the voice and a smile crept along his face. The voice belonged to a man who stood just a few inches above Luc with short black hair that was slicked back, a tanned complexion, and a pair of blue green eyes framed behind a pair of squared-rimmed silver glasses. He was dressed in a simple grey suit with a black undershirt, blue tie, and a silver chain around his neck.
Luc stood up and approached the older man, "Uncle T!" he said in joy as he embraced the older man in a tight hug. Thiago Santiago or Thiago Kagami as he was now known as was Luc's eldest uncle. His mother's oldest brother. After Luc's mother founded Aces High and his other uncle Tristian became employed as a local A/C and refrigeration mechanic back in Saint's Valley, Thiago decided to try his hand at consulting. And it turns out, he was really good. Hundreds of businesses wanted his advice and his economist knowledge. Deciding to try his luck in a different place, he moved to Japan where he met Kasumi, and the rest was history. His business was thriving, and his marriage was doing great. Luc couldn't be prouder to have someone like him as his uncle.
Thiago chuckled as he separated from his nephew, "Oh, Luc my boy. Let me look at you. Wow, you sure have grown over the years." He said as he held Luc's face in his hands like Niko did earlier.
Luc chuckled, "Thanks uncle. It certainly has been a while. Nice to see that Japan is still treating you well."
Thiago chuckled and slicked his hair back, "What can I say? I make myself look good."
"Amen to that." Luc said as the two men chuckled again.
Thiago led Luc to a separate room of the house which Luc assumed was his uncle's study. The two caught up for a while with Thiago serving himself a class of whiskey and handing Luc a cold, grape soda. One of his weaknesses. Thiago did voice his concerns about his nephew going into the Hero business, but it was mainly out of concern more than anything which Luc understood.
Since Luc didn't have a father growing up, his older brother, uncles, and his mentor were the men that he went to really know what it was like to not only grow as a man but also as a provider. And there was a part of Luc that wanted to have what they had. A nice woman in his life that he could spend time with and maybe even eventually have a family of his own. But right now, his mentality was becoming a hero. He wanted to become the kind of hero that could bring hope to the people back in his hometown and give hope to all those kids around the world that were like him. The ones who didn't come from much but could be whatever they wanted to be.
After about an hour, Kasumi came into the study with the twins letting Luc and Thiago know that it was time for dinner. The men followed the Kagami Matriarch into the dining room where Kasumi had prepared a wonderful meal for everyone. The twins got their own highchairs while Luc sat next to Niko but before they ate, the sound of clacking boots came running along the floors of the home and into the kitchen.
Entering the kitchen was a young woman about a year older than Niko with long black hair. The woman was rather beautiful with a tanned complexion and a wonderful figure that she wasn't afraid to show off. She was dressed in a pir of white pants with black heels and a dark green blouse. She wore a pair of white sunglasses on her face which she took off and placed on her head once she appeared, revealing her beautiful blue-green eyes.
Kasumi huffed, "Erika, you're late." She said revealing the woman to be her eldest daughter, Erika.
Erika clasped her hands together in an apology, "Sorry mama. My rehearsal ran longer than I thought, and I had to take on the task of looking after an upcoming idol group." She said as she sat down.
Thiago smiled, "Well, all that matters is that you're here," he said getting nods from his family, "And Erika, I believe you need to say hello to your cousin."
Erika looked past her father to where Luc was sitting, the younger male gave his female cousin a small wave, "Yo, Erika-nee." Luc said with a smile.
Erika squealed as she set her eyes on Luc and immediately throwing her arms around him and trapping him in a bone crushing hug, "Oh, Lu-chan! I cannot believe that you are here! It's so good to see you! And you look so handsome!" she said as she held onto Luc.
Luc gave a small gasp, "Nice to see you too Erika-nee. Still as beautiful as I remember." He said in a strained voice.
"Nee-chan is pretty!" Shotaro chirped out.
"Pretty." Kotaro repeated quietly.
Erika giggled, "Oh, I love it when my family members compliment me!" she said happily.
Niko sighed, "Nice to know that there are other people that can handle Erika."
Erika turned to Niko and stuck her tongue out at him, "Oh shut up Onii-chan. I hardly get any compliments from you and now that Lu-chan is here, I know for a fact he's going to be so many nice things to me." She said as she held onto Luc with a happy smile.
Thiago chuckled at the sight of his daughter holding onto Luc like a vice grip, but he could also see that his nephew was turning blue, so he decided to give the boy a break. He stood up and pulled his daughter off of Luc, giving the younger boy some much needed air.
"Okay Erika, that's enough. I know you've missed Luc, but it won't do anyone any good if you take all the air out of him." Thiago said as he moved Erika over to her own seat.
"Yes papa." Erika said with a pout making everyone chuckle.
"Okay, now that everyone is here. We can finally have dinner." Kasumi said. While his Japanese family members said the traditional, Itadakimasu, Luc decided to stay true to his roots as a loyal Catholic and said a small prayer to the Lord above for the meal he was about to eat and for his family's health and safety.
As the evening went on, Luc and his Japanese family ate their dinner and conversed about their day. It was a really nice way to end the night. Shotaro and Kotaro were very interested in knowing what kind of Quirk Luc had, so he promised to show them later on. Luc offered to at least take care of the dishes of the night, but Kasumi wasn't having any of it. Instead, she made Niko do them to which the elder male did not take too kindly to it. But he did it anyway since there was really no arguing with Kasumi when she wanted something done.
Luc ended the night by talking with Erika and the boys before Kasumi settled the twins down for bed. Luc had a late night drink with his cousins and uncle after Niko finished the dishes. While the older men and women had some alcoholic drinks, Luc settled on another grape soda. He did have a weakness for it. Everyone eventually headed to bed with Luc included. He didn't know what was going to happen during his time in Japan, but he was looking forward to seeing what would be coming his way.
MHA
Luc took in a deep breath and released it in a content sigh. After waking up early and doing the intense workout that his mentors had drilled into his body, Luc took a long hot shower before putting on some clothes. Not failing to notice the impressive way his new tattoos looked on his body. He had to admit, they made him look dope.
After getting dressed, he noticed that his family members must already be at work so he figured he may as well take a look at the neighborhood. If this was going to be his home while he was in Japan, he may as well get used to the area. Luc put on an outfit similar to the one he wore when he arrived in Japan just with a steel grey shirt instead of a burgundy one and headed out.
The area around his aunt and uncle's home was actually quite nice. There was a park where kids could play, homes that just seemed to be filled with all kinds of families, and a neighborhood shopping center that was only a few minutes away. All in all, it seemed like a wonderful place to raise a family. Luc could understand why his aunt and uncle chose this area.
As Luc entered the shopping area, he walked down the concrete sidewalk to do a little window shopping to see what's around. Luc passed several different people who didn't really give him a second glance. He assumed that by being a foreigner, he would draw some eyes but with the number of obvious mutant Quirks that were in Japan, Luc didn't seem all that out of place. Even if he did hear a few snide comments about a foreigner being Japan but he let those slide. He didn't really care if some people didn't like the fact that he was in Japan.
"I already told you guys; I'm not giving you any money!"
The sound of an annoyed and slightly angry voice grabbed Luc's attention and made him turn his head in the direction of the voice. His eyes landed on a rather cliché sight, but he kept his attention on the situation just to be safe in case anything happened.
Two boys, one with a large mohawk and another with both ears pierced with three, large, hoop earrings, were cornering another young boy that caught Luc's attention. All three boys were dressed in the same black school uniform, but Mohawk and Hoop had theirs on rather sloppily while the boy they were cornering had his on properly just unbuttoned with a red shirt that had a black dragon face on the front.
The boy also had short, spiked hair that flared out like it was on fire and the red, yellow, and orange ombre color scheme that he had going on made his hair look like it would draw the attention of anyone that would see it. His eyes were a deep reddish maroon color, and his skin had a fair complexion with a decent tan to it. He had a slim yet fit build, broad shoulders, and a physique like he had done some kind of workout training. There seemed to be some kind of iron necklace around the boy's neck that Luc couldn't make out from where he was.
Mohawk scoffed and got right into the ombre haired boy's face, "Oh I think you will. See even if you are fairly strong, we know that you couldn't fight us if you wanted to."
Hoop chuckled, "Yeah, not unless you want to get into UA." He said causing both him and Mohawk to laugh loudly. The UA statement caught Luc's attention and he understood why the ombre haired boy was holding himself back. If UA got word that one of their potential students had gotten into a meaningless street fight for no reason, then they probably wouldn't even give the person the chance to apply. But it also made Luc sick that a couple of punks would actually use that to their advantage to harass someone.
The ombre haired boy scoffed, "Oh please, that ain't the reason why I'm not giving you any money. I'm not paying you because 1, I wouldn't give you any of my own money even if you were able to lay a punch on me and 2, you two are just so pathetic that you aren't even worth my time."
Luc chuckled lightly at the boy's remarks. Happy to know that the guy wasn't someone that could be walked all over.
The boy's statement made Mohawk fume and he threw a heavy right cross that connected with the ombre haired boy's cheek. The force of the punch made the boy's head turn but he didn't seem bothered by it all as he righted his head to glare back at Mohawk. Mohawk seemed a bit put off by the sudden aggressiveness of the ombre haired boy's gaze but kept up his false superiority.
"You think you can talk to me like that? You can't say shit. You won't even fight back. It's just what I would expect from the son of failed fire fighter." Mohawk jeered causing the ombre-haired boy's eyes to widen.
Hoop chuckled, "Seriously, your dad has been in the same position at that raggedy fire station for years. He hasn't even had the balls to replace that Quirkless dumbass who is the captain." He jeered on as the ombre haired boy just took the insults in stride which Luc respected him for but even he could tell that it was only a matter of time before he exploded.
Mohawk smirked, "The only good thing your old man has ever done is marrying that hot piece baby mama of his," he said making both the ombre-haired boy and Luc immediately freeze, "I mean, what woman would actually go for such a freaky looking dude. If I ever got my hands on that sexy mother of yours, oh I would do so many things…"
Mohawk never got a chance to finish what he was saying before Luc ran over and slugged him across the face, making him tumble to the ground. Hoop and Ombre were so shocked by this that they couldn't even speak about what had happened. Luc then turned his attention to Hoop and decked him across the face with a spinning back fist, knocking him to the ground as well.
Ombre gaped at what just happened in front of him, "Wh-what the hell?"
Luc gave off a sigh, "I get the desire to not do anything for your dream of getting into UA," he said as he turned to the Ombre-haired boy behind him, "But ask yourself this. Is it really worth it to stand by and watch a couple of punks spout a bunch of nonsense about your family?"
Even though Luc couldn't see what the other boy was thinking, the look on his face said enough.
"Oi," Mohawk said as he and Hoop got to their feet, "Who the hell do you think you are? You think you can hit me?! Oh, you are so de…" Mohawk was cut off from his rant when Ombre gave him a swift punch to the face, effectively knocking him out.
"Miyamura!" Hoop shouted as he saw his friend drop to the ground once more.
"Unless you want to end up just like him, I recommend you getting him and yourself out of here. And if I ever hear either one of you douche bags insulting any member of my family again, then I don't care if UA hears about this. I will bust both of you up." The ombre-haired boy said darkly to Hoop. The boy seemed to immediately get the message and grabbed Miyamura by his arms. The two boys began to slump away with Miyamura groggily mumbling as his friend carried away.
Luc gave off a sigh, "Man, it kind of sucks when I have to see pricks like that even in Japan. But I guess there are bad seeds everywhere."
"Um...," Luc turned to the boy beside him who had a small smile on his face, "Thanks for the help." He said.
Luc waved him off, "Don't mention it. Just glad I could lend a hand," he said giving the boy a pat on the shoulder, "I understand why you didn't make a move. You don't want to do anything that could risk your chances of getting into UA, but you got to remember this. There are certain things in life that a man just can't ignore."
The boy sighed, "Yeah, you have a point. If my dad or my uncles saw what just happened, they'd be more upset of the fact that I didn't respond to the words those jerks said about my mother."
Luc shrugged, "When it comes to family, everyone gets a little crazy."
The boy chuckled, "Don't I know," he said holding out a fist, "Name's Takeru. Ryugasaki Takeru."
Luc smiled, "Lucas Santiago but call me Luc." He said as he bumped fists with the other boy. For some reason, to both young men, they knew that a bond was created. One that would take them both to higher places than they could have ever thought.
"Lu-chan!" a female voice shouted in fright. Luc and Takeru turned towards the source of the voice, but they couldn't get a decent look at who said it before a feminine figure crashed into Luc.
"Gah!" Luc stammered out as someone collided with him. The figure, who he soon recognized as his cousin Erika, began to squeeze the life out of Luc.
"Erika-nee, please stop." Luc grunted out as he soon felt the air leave his body. Begrudgingly, Erika let go but she fussed over Luc like he was some kind of fragile doll.
"Lu-chan, are you okay? Are you hurt? Oh, I saw you fight those boys and I got so worried." Erika fussed as she looked over Luc for any injuries.
Takeru blinked, "So, I take it she's someone you know?"
Luc sighed, "She's Kagami Erika. My cousin."
Takeru blinked, "Huh, HUH?! Wait, your cousin is THE Kagami Erika?!" he yelled incredulously as he looked
Luc nodded before he gently pushed his female cousin away, "Yeah, she is. Trust me, her fame is a bit of a surprise to me too sometimes."
"Right." Takeru said with a slow nod, still a little dumbfounded at the fact that such a famous Idol was in front of him.
"Jeez, Erika. Can you slow down for a bit?" a male voice said. The trio turned their heads to the new arrivals that were apparently walking up with Erika. The only male that was among them, other than Luc and Takeru, was a handsome young man around the same age as Erika or perhaps a year or two older with skin that was slightly pale and slick black hair that was folded over to cover his right eye, the other being a deep cerulean. He had a fit physique and stood a few inches below Luc; he was dressed in a long-sleeved white shirt with a black vest over it that was open. He wore matching black jeans and white sneakers and there appeared to be some kind of tribal looking necklace hanging from his neck. Following along with the older male were nine other younger girls who seemed to be around Luc and Takeru's age, all dressed in really fashionable clothes.
"I get that you were worried or even a little excited, but I don't see why you had to rush off like you did." The guy said as he approached Erika.
"Oh, be quiet Dai-kun! I haven't seen Lu-chan in years and my protective instincts came over me." Erika said as she tried to get closer to Luc once more.
Takeru raised an eyebrow, "Is she always like this with you?"
"Unfortunately." Luc sighed out. He knew how his cousin would get when it came to him and his younger cousins, but he hoped that she would at least keep herself under control when they were in public. Apparently she didn't.
Luc cleared his throat to get his cousin's attention, "Um, Erika-nee, don't you think you should introduce your friends since they were following you?" the question Luc asked finally got Erika to calm down and she righted herself to look more presentable.
"Right, I should probably do that." Erika said as she went over to the older male making Luc groan and Takeru chuckle.
"Luc, allow me to introduce one of the biggest musical sensations to come out of Mustafu, Hayasaki Daisuke!" she said with all the enthusiasm she could muster.
Daisuke chuckled, "I don't know about biggest, but I guess I do rather well for myself."
Takeru nodded, "I'd have to agree Hayasaki-san. I've heard a lot of your music and it's really good." He said with a smile.
"Well thanks for that. Nice to know that my music can still reach the young male crowd." Daisuke said with the girls behind him letting off some giggles.
Luc smiled, "Well, I'm gonna look forward to hearing what you put out Hayasaki-san," he said giving a bow, "And thanks for looking after my cousin. I know she can be a handful at times." He said before standing up straight, seeing the cute pout my cousin had on her face. Luc then turned to the group of girls that were with them who, he had to admit, were rather cute. Some had a simply adorable look to them while others had a more sensual, mature feel to them and even a few caught his eye.
"And who might these lovely ladies be?" Luc asked with a smile, noticing the small amount of color that some of the girls had on their cheeks.
Noticing this, Erika took the opportunity to introduce the girls, "These adorable young ladies are the members of a new Idol group that I have taken the privilege of mentoring. Allow me to introduce, the members of High Life!" she said with the biggest smile she could put on her face, the High Life members all greeted Luc and Takeru who did the same.
"I thought you guys looked familiar. My little sister likes to listen to a lot of up and coming Idol groups and from what I have heard, you guys have some serious skill." Takeru said getting blushes from some of the girls.
Erika clapped her hands, "Oh, I know. Why don't we all grab a bite and get to know each other? I know a great place not too far from here."
Luc and Takeru looked like they were about to decline but their stomachs betrayed them by giving off some hearty growls, "Um, well, I could eat." Luc said.
Takeru nodded with a slight blush, "Yeah, me too." He said as the group broke out into small fits of laughter.
Erika wrapped her arms around the two boys and pulled them close to her, "Good, then it's settled! Let's go!"
"Oi, Erika-nee, let go, would you? We can't walk like this!"
MHA
"Wow, so you came all the way from America to attend UA Luc?"
Erika had started to lead the group down a few streets where they passed by several more shops and businesses that looked like loved, local establishments which was something that Luc could appreciate. As they traversed down the city streets, some of the girls of High Life decided to get to know the hero hopefuls. Primarily Luc and Takeru were talking to Saya, Mako, Mika, and Tomoe. All the girls had very fit bodies and rather beautiful faces but they all had something about them that made them unique.
Saya was a beautiful young woman with a very bright smile and warm hazel eyes. Her hair was long, reaching her shoulders and was a soft amber color. She seemed like the kind of girl who knew what she wanted, especially when it came to guys given the way that she immediately hooked her arm through Luc's. But he didn't mind.
Mako had long black hair that was tied in a ponytail with bright violet eyes that almost had a blue shimmer to them when the light hit them right. She had a very mature kind of air to her that Luc found rather attractive. She seemed like the kind of girl that would be fun to hang around.
Mika seemed like the most mature out of all the group with the way that she held herself, but she also looked like she had a little bit of playfulness to her. She had long black hair that had violet highlights running through it with a set of dark brown eyes. She hung around Takeru the most which the ombre-haired boy seemed to enjoy making the girl smile.
And then there was Tomoe. Out of all the members of High Life she was the tallest, but she was still shorter than both Takeru and Luc, despite that she was by no means less beautiful than the other members. Her long reddish-brown hair fell down her shoulders in elegant waves with a few strands framing her amber colored eyes. She held herself with an air of poise that told Luc that she may have come from money, but she didn't hold herself like she was better than anyone which, from the way that Takeru was smiling from the girl's attention, seemed like a good thing. All the girls were dressed in the same turquoise and white school uniform which told Luc that despite them being Idols they were still serious about their education.
The other members of High Life hung around the boys and were courteous and nice but those four seemed to be having the most fun interacting with Luc and Takeru.
Luc nodded at Saya's question, "That's right. My hometown of Saint's Valley has their own Hero School, but I felt like UA was the best option for me."
"Your family must miss you a lot." Mako said.
Luc gave a small smile, "I know they do but I also know that they all are giving me all the love and support that they can."
Tomoe turned to Takeru, "What about your family Takeru-kun? How do they feel about you becoming a hero?"
Takeru rubbed the back of his head, "Well they were actually all for it. Both of my parents as well as my aunts and uncles are all firefighters, but my parents got their hero licenses to allow them to use their Quirks when they are working. I decided to become a hero to not only continue their legacy but also make sure that no disasters that befall upon innocent people will cause them harm." He said with a ferocity in his eyes but there was also something else that Luc saw, almost a sadness that the boy was trying to keep hidden. Luc didn't want to press his new friend for anything that would make him uncomfortable, so he kept it to himself.
"I don't know what's gonna come our way when we take the test Takeru, but I do know this. Your parents are proud of you already for taking the leap to become a hero." Luc said with a smile. Takeru turned to his new friend with a smile, despite only knowing each other for a few moments the two boys could already feel the growing friendship between them becoming stronger by the minute. The two boys fist bumped each other before they turned their attention back to the girls around them.
"So, what kind of Quirks do you have?" Mako asked.
Luc smiled down at the girl, "Well my Quirk is something that I call Gale Soul. It's sort of a version of wind manipulation. I can manipulate the air around me and alter its density to form different objects and even some animals as well. I can also turn my body into wind." He said as everyone around him seemed stunned at his explanation.
"You know, I never would have expected you to have something like that as your Quirk." Takeru said.
Luc shrugged, "Its actually something I appreciate about my Quirk. The fact that it's so low key."
Saya blinked, "Okay, I understand the turning into wind part but what do you mean with the wind manipulation part?" she asked.
Luc smiled and gently pulled his arm out of her grasp which she seemed very unhappy with given the cute pout she had on. Luc put his hands together and focused his Quirk. The air around his hands turned a deep cobalt blue before he separated his hands to reveal an intricate and beautiful blue rose.
"That's beautiful." Mako said as the others agreed.
Luc moved the rose towards her, "Pick it up." He said.
Mako blinked, "What? But it's just wind, isn't it?"
"Trust me." Luc said with a smile.
Despite her own suspicions, Mako decided to give Luc the benefit of the doubt. She reached out and to her surprise, she was actually able to pick the rose up and hold it in her hand.
"Th-this is incredible!" Mako said as he held the blue rose in her hands, getting the attention of Saya as well.
"I can only make simple objects but everything I make becomes sturdy enough to where I could form something, hold it in my hands, use it as a weapon, and let it work like actual object itself." Luc explained as he brought his hands together once more and created a tiny, cobalt blue sparrow that flew off into the sky.
"How long do your creations last?" Takeru asked.
"Only for a few minutes, depending on what I create. Animals can last a little longer depending on how far they go from me but inanimate objects like swords or spears can last the longest if I hold them in my hands." Luc explained.
Saya clapped her hands as she watched the sparrow fly away, "What a wonderful Quirk! You are going to be an amazing hero!" she said as she wrapped her arms around Luc's once more.
"Thanks, Saya." Luc said. Mako seemed like she didn't want to be left out, so she wrapped her arms around Luc's other arm to get closer to the boy.
Despite enjoying the attention, he was getting from the two beautiful girls, Luc was curious about Takeru's Quirk, "So Takeru, what kind of Quirk are you bringing to the table?"
Takeru blinked, "Well my Quirk basically makes me a Lizardman with fire abilities."
"Lizardman?" Mika asked.
Takeru pulled his sleeve down to reveal that his arm was now covered in dark red scales and some plate armor, "I can transform my body into scaled armor that gives me an added layer of protection. I'm also resistant to all manners of heat fire plus I'm stronger and faster than an average human."
"You gonna say that you can breathe fire as well?" Luc joked.
"Actually yes." Takeru said with a smirk.
That took Luc by surprise, "Wait, seriously?!"
Takeru nodded, "Yep. My dad has a Quirk called Salamander; it gives him all the abilities of the mythical fire lizard. I inherited the majority of my powers from him. I also have something I call Heat Heal where I take my own internal fire, alter it, and expel it outward to heal some minor injuries."
Mika gasped, "Wow, that's incredible. Is the healing part from your mom?"
Takeru nodded, "Yeah, my mom has a Quirk called Angel. It gives her angel wings and allows her to create a healing glow that heals pretty much any injury in a certain are around her."
"Damn, that is some combination of powers dude." Luc said getting a smile out of Takeru. The group continued on their way with some simple small talk between them. The eventually made their way to a part of town that had several different types of restaurants around them. Before anyone could ask where they wanted to eat, something caught Luc's eye.
"Erika-nee, isn't that Shotaro and Kotaro over there?" he asked.
All eyes turned to the direction he was looking in and indeed, there was the youngest members of the Kagami family along with four other smaller children and two older boys a few years older than Luc. One of the boys had long, lavender colored hair tied into a ponytail while the other had short brown hair and a kind smile on his face.
Erika nodded, "Yep, that's them. The other kids are members of the day care room where they stay while mama is working. The boy with lavender hair is Atsuya-kun while the boy with black hair is Ichiro-kun. They work as babysitters in the room, looking over the kids while going to school at the same time."
"Huh, I guess that explains where the boys went this morning." Luc said.
As Erika was about to speak once more, a loud explosion rocked a small area near them. By instinct, Luc covered as many of the girls with his body while Takeru and Daisuke did the same. The boy looked up to see large, rough looking villain with treads on his feet and carrying several large bags of cash.
Following the villain was a group of police offers and what appeared to be a giant dragon accompanied by a young woman in a skintight suit with long periwinkle hair tied in spirals who was floating in air.
"Cease your actions this minute!" The large dragon yelled in a female voice.
"Yeah, you really need to stop." The periwinkle-haired girl shouted.
"Hah, like that'll happen!" the tread villain said before he twisted around and aimed his left hand which had turned into a multi-barrel machine gun. He fired off several missile rounds that forced the heroes and police to stop in their tracks. The dragon was forced to use her large body to block the oncoming attacks from injuring anyone.
The villain gave off a cocky chuckle before he turned around and narrowed his eyes on Kotaro's group, "Ha, perfect! I'll take a hostage to give myself some leverage!" he said as he raced towards the group.
Luc's eyes widened and his instincts kicked in, he immediately stood up and summoned spheres of wind beneath his feet. Looking at his right he saw that Takeru had some flames smoldering in his mouth and a set of wings coming out from his back. Luc would have to ask his friend about the wings later but other than that, he could tell that Takeru was thinking the same thing he was.
Takeru shot off the ground with his wings giving him lift while Luc exploded off the ground with azure wind trailing behind his feet. The two boys flew towards the group of children and their caretakers and stopped right in front of them, just as the villain was baring down on them. As swiftly as they arrived, another figure appeared next to them, just as ready to fight as they were.
"Get put of my way you damn brats!" the villain yelled as his arm transformed into a giant battle axe.
Luc's gaze was hard and focused, only seeing what was in front of him. The villain's movements were slow, but they were full of killing force. Luc quickly went into action and brought his hands together, summoning a large amount of azure wind around him before spreading his arms out to create a large flower shaped shield.
The villain was taken aback by the show of power, but it was too late for him to stop his attack, contacting Luc's shield. The young aerokinetic hardened the density of his wind shield making it unbreakable, causing the villain to bounce off his shield.
With the villain off balance, Luc took advantage of this and dropped his shield, "Takeru, light him up!"
Takeru immediately followed his friend's instructions and got himself in the fight, the center of his chest light up like a bright blaze before a large stream of fire shot out of his mouth as he gave off a deep below.
"Ah, hot! Hot!" the villain screamed as he tried to get away from the fire. Luckily, Takeru seemed to have enough control over the flames to not cause any kind of serious damage.
Luc looked over to the person next to him which revealed to be a boy his age with wild hazel-brown hair and forest green eyes. The thing that stuck out the most to Luc was the fact that the boy had legs like a kangaroo, arms like gorilla, and the horns of a ram on his head. He either had a really rare mutant Quirk or the abilities of a chimera. Either way, Luc knew what to do.
"Hey Chimera," Luc shouted to the animal boy who turned his head towards him, "You think you can knock him into the air?"
The boy grinned widely, "Oh yeah, I can!" he said before he bent his legs and launched off the ground and straight towards the villain. The strength of his kangaroo legs gave him the added power he needed send him forward, he then bent his head down and connected his ram-horned head to the villain's midsection, knocking the air out of the tread villain. The boy then turned around and changed his arms back to normal, he rested his hands on the ground and changed his legs into cloved-hooved bovine legs. He thrust his legs up and donkey kicked the villain into the air.
Luc rushed forward before jumping up into the air above the villain, summoning a set of chained kunai in his hands. Luc threw the kunai towards the villain, moving them according to his will so they wrapped around the villain's body several times before they came back to his hands. Luc dropped back down to the ground and pulled the kunai down to slam the villain back onto the ground, knocking the wind out of him.
Luc stabbed the kunai into the ground, effectively pinning the treaded villain to the ground, "Well, that takes care of that." He said with a sigh.
"Ha, man that was not what I was expecting today! Glad I was in the area!" the green eyed boy said with a smirk before he threw his arms around Luc and Takeru.
Takeru grunted from the boy's strength, "I'd have to agree with that, but could you please ease up? You're a little too strong for me."
The boy chuckled, "Sorry about that, sometimes I forget my own strength!" he said releasing Luc and Takeru.
The villain beneath them groaned before he thrashed on the ground, "You goddamn brats, I am going to rip you apart!" he yelled out.
All three boys glared down at him with absolute disgust in their eyes, "Oh shut up." Luc said before laying a kick across the villain's face, knocking him out.
Takeru had an impressed look on his face, "Nice one Luc." He said with Luc inclining his head to his new friends. He then remembered the whole situation.
"Kotaro, Shotaro!" Luc yelled before turning back to check on his cousins.
"Luc!" the two boys shouted in happiness upon seeing their older cousin. Luc dropped to his knees as the kids approached him and held his arms open. The twins immediately ran towards him and straight into his chest, clutching onto the older boy's chest crying their eyes out.
"It's okay boys. The mean man wont hurt you. You're safe now." Luc said gently as he tried to calm the boys down.
"Dang, for us that was something we handled easily but for kids their age, that must have been terrifying." The green haired boy said.
"No child should have to feel this scared." Takeru said.
"Wow, that was really scary." The lavender-haired older boy named Atsuya said as he came over to Luc, carrying a small baby with light green hair in his arms.
"I am very happy that you three came flying in when you did. I don't know what would have happened if you didn't." the black haired boy named Ichiro said as he came over to the boys. A smaller child with dark red hair and a blank look on his face and bright, sparkly eyes walking next to him. Another child with short, dark blue hair holding a hard plastic sword in his hands and a young girl with blonde hair tied into pig tails were standing next to Ichiro as well all of them looking up at Luc and the boys with wide eyes that were stained with tears.
"Please, don't mention it. I will do anything if it means helping my family." Luc said with a smile.
"Ah, you're Kotaro and Shotaro's cousin from America, right? They talked about how cool you looked all day today. Glad to know it was all true." Atsuya said.
Luc looked down at his cousins who were still holding onto him, he didn't expect them to talk him up so soon, but it made him feel good that he could at least be seen as cool in his family's eyes.
"Well as long as the kids are okay that's all that matter and yes, I am their cousin from America. Lucas Santiago but feel free to call me Luc. The scaled guy over there is Ryugasaki Takeru and…" Luc said turning to the new boy.
"Oh, name's Eiji. Jyumonji Eiji. Nice to meet you all, officially." He said with a large grin. Now that they were face to face, Luc was able to get a better look at the Chimera boy. In addition to his wild hazel-brown hair and forest green eyes, Eiji had broad shoulders, a muscular build, and stood at just about 2 inches shorter than Takeru. He was dressed in a pair of brown khaki shorts, black sandals, and a dark green t-shirt. There was a beaded necklace on his neck and from what Luc could see, the boy had a few scars on his body.
"Likewise, Eiji. Again, thanks for the help." Luc said with Takeru thanking him as well.
"No worries. That's what heroes do right?" Eiji said.
"I would have to agree."
All eyes turned to the new voice to see a woman with short blond hair with reptilian yellow eyes and sharp teeth dressed in a dark red qipao with an interesting looking headband that had a large claw covering one of her eyes with a set of wings protruding out from the back of her head. Standing beside her was the same periwinkle-haired girl from before who seemed to be preoccupied poking the unconscious villain on the forehead.
"Even though I should be giving you three a lecture about interfering with a hero mission and using your Quirks in public," she said getting the three boys to look away ashamed, "But given the situation that had just occurred I'm going to just let you guys off with a warning about using your powers in public. And I have to say, great job. All three of you."
The three boys all looked at each other and smiled, sure what they did was technically against the law regarding Quirk laws but with the compliments that they got from the Pro Hero made things better.
"Man, take down a villain, protect some kids, and get complimented by Ryukyu?! Today has been great!" Eiji said hopping up and down.
"Easy Eiji, remember she said that we were still slightly in the wrong by using our Quirks in public." Takeru said.
"At least no body got hurt. I feel like that's all that matters." Luc said getting smiles from both boys.
"Hey, hey, are you able to create anything from wind?" The periwinkle girl said as she got right into Luc's face.
"Can you fly? Are you able to create tornados? Are you American? Are those little ones in your arms your family members?" she said spouting out question after question before moving over to Takeru.
"And you, you breathed fire. Are you some kind of dragon? Can you turn into a big dragon like Ryuku? Can you use any other kind of fire?"
She then moved over to Eiji, "And you, you were like three different animals. Can you transform into any animal? Are you as strong as ox? Can you run like a cheetah? Oh, I want to know so much about all of you!" she squealed out like she won the lottery.
All the boys blinked like they had no idea how to react to the girl's energetic nature and were kind of left speechless, not knowing how to react to her onslaught of questions.
"Um, is she always like that?" Luc asked Ryuku.
The Dragoon hero giggled, "Yes, she is. Nejire-chan is very energetic and can be a bit of an airhead but she is one of the best interns that I have ever had work for me," she said before turning to the downed villain, "But now, we should probably get this troublemaker squared away." She said pulling Nejire-chan away from the boys with the girl giving off a small pout.
Luc chuckled at the sight before he saw Erika and the rest of the group coming their way. The elder Kagami girl worried over he cousins but was able to calm down once she saw Ryukyu. The girls of High Life praised the boys over what they did with a few of them even getting closer to Eiji. Daisuke praised the boys for their work, impressed that guys their age were able to react as quickly as they did.
Luc helped out Ryuku by dispersing his wind kunai and allowing Ryukyu to hand the villain over to the proper authorities, "You know boys, I don't know if any of you plan on becoming heroes, but I honestly hope you do." Ryukyu said making all three boys turn towards the Dragoon hero.
"The world could always use heroes like you."
That one statement sent a jolt through all three of the young boy's hearts. They all had desires to be heroes for their own various reasons but the fact that a Pro Hero like Ryukyu said that they could be heroes and that the world needed more people like them made their day. They already wanted to be heroes but now, after today, they would make it happen.
Lucas Santiago, Ryugasaki Takeru, and Jyumonji Eiji three young men who never met until today. This is the tale of how they become some of the best heroes in the world and the bonds they forge along their way.
Hey all, Kuro no Okami here with another My Hero Academia Story. I know I have quite a few of them in progress but when you get inspiration you can't really help yourself. I was very happy to make this one because it incorporates elements of my own life and changing them a bit to fit the MHA world.
I've also taken some elements of a few things that I love. Daisuke is based on Daichi Miura, one of my favorite Japanese singers. Kotaro, Shotaro, and their friends in their daycare are based on the characters and kids from Gakuen Babysitters, one of my favorite and possibly one of the most wholesome anime I have ever seen.
The girls from High Life are based on the real life members of the K-pop group TWICE. Yes I am a major TWICE fan and I wanted to incorporate that into one of my stories. I want to say thank you to all of my followers who are currently reading all of my stories and please look forward to more updates in the future.
Until next time, Adios!
