The fate of Palm Beach's most dynamic duo hangs in the balance. Their public wedding is scheduled for the day after their hearing with the Commissioning Review Board…will they be walking down the aisle as partners?

I became a fan of the show and, specifically, Rita and Chris when it was first introduced. They had amazing on-set chemistry even as the show struggled with budget constraints and, let's be honest, sometimes less than stellar script writing. So, decades later, the ending still chaps my butt. I've had this story bouncing around my head for a while, now, and had to get it out.

A story challenge: write about Rita's experience during the three days Chris Lorenzo was unconscious after being shot in Black Heart and waking up in Natural Selection.

A follow-up to "Moving Heaven and Earth". When Chris and Rita accept an undercover assignment from an old friend, they again realize that crime isn't the only war they fight. The two must also struggle with the feelings they have for each other. In the Silk Stalkings canon, this story fits in the second half of Season 3, after "The Scarlet Shadow".

The episode "Partners 2" (S05E09) begins with Chris and Rita speaking in the kitchen of Chris' apartment. Scene 2 has the two of them sitting down in Captain Lipschitz's office to brief him. This is sort of a "Scene 1.5"...what may have happened between those scenes.

Rita and Chris, weighed down by their responsibilities, wonder if they still have what it takes to solve the case or has their luck final run out.

Rita and Chris have been on the run for six months, but with Rita's due date quickly approaching, and the cover story of their deaths falling a part, they are running out of time. While hunting Marco Montoya, the man who's sworn to kill them, the case of a sadistic serial killer draws their attention. Can they stop Montoya, catch a killer, and finally come out of the shadows?
