Hello, Dunedain ranger of the north, or Dune for short, here! I am posting this as a way to get my Girls und Panzer story ideas out there for people to see and, hopefully, write a story from. I would write these as stories myself, but lately I've been in a writing slump and I just don't have as much time as I used to. So, please give these ideas a look and see if you'd like to write a story from them. I will add newer ones from time to time, whenever I think of more. Anyways, without further ado, I give you:
THE WRITING DESK: A Girls und Panzer Idea Collection.
Story idea #1: The Nishizumi Instructor.
When Miho is called to go meet with the Student Council, the meeting is interrupted by a woman bursting into the room, demanding to know who is named Nishizumi. Miho, curious about who this person is and why she is asking for her, answers. The woman turns out to be the Guidance Counselor for Oorai, but not only that, she and Miho are related. She's Miho's aunt, Sachi Nishizumi.
Just like how Shiho looks like an adult version of Maho, Sachi looks like an adult version of Miho. Sachi is Shiho's older sister and the then heiress of the Nishizumi style and family, but like Miho, when she was in high school, she didn't want to follow her family's school's tenants and wanted to enjoy Tankery as a sport and not a way of life, making her the black sheep of the family, so she was cast aside for Shiho to then become the new heir. Feeling free to do whatever she wanted, as long as she didn't embarrass the family in anyway, Sachi left Kuromorimine and transferred to Oorai, just like her future niece, where she joined the then active Tankery team. While not on good terms with the rest of her family, Sachi still kept in contact with Shiho, who still loved her older sister dearly, and she in turn kept the family appraised of her sister's actions and daily life. For Sachi, her life was good. Until her third year. During her third year, at the end of a match, Sachi literally ran into a young man three years her senior, an American military man from the nearby base who'd come to watch the Tankery match. His name was Thomas Mitchell, a tank mechanic. They stay in touch with each other when the school ship is out at sea and meet up when it returns to port. They eventually fall in love. It is during this time that, do to reasons unknown to us readers, the Tankery club is suspended and much of tanks are sold off, much to Sachi's sadness.
After Sachi graduates, she and Thomas officially start dating and eventually become engaged. Sachi then goes to her family and announces their engagement. The Nishizumi's, furious about Sachi wanting to marry a foreigner, expel her from the family completely, leaving Shiho devastated that she wouldn't be able to ever see or speak to her older sister again. Sachi marries Thomas and goes to university, leaving the world of tanks behind her, they eventually have a daughter. Years later, Sachi returns to Oorai along with her daughter, who starts as a first year, to become one of the school's guidance counselors. This is about two years before Miho comes to Oorai. Then, during her daughter's third year, the last year before the ship is to be decommissioned, she hears over the intercom a call for a Miho Nishizumi. And that's how she gets involved with the new tankery team.
Whew, a little long winded, I know, but I wanted to get Sachi's backstory out there. Now for the rest of the details: Sachi reconnects with her family through her youngest niece, becomes something like a mother to her, gets discovered that she was a former member of the old tank team, helps them find a few tanks that she and some of her friends hid before they were sold - some better ones then the ones originally found - and ends up becoming the permanent instructor for the Oorai Tankery team. The names of Miho's aunt and her husband do not need to be the names that I have used, I just used them to give the characters something to be called. And there you go, so what do you guys think? Anyone want to give this idea a shot?
