This is Pallet Town, a relatively small town. This is the home of Ash Ketchum, son of Bruno and Delia Ketchum. Bruno was a very successful trainer. His job required a lot of time. He could rarely meet his family. Still, he loved them and they knew that. Delia used to participate in Contests. She was very successful; when she had Ash, she decided to stop. She also was a good breeder; she had a license to heal a pokemon. She was not as good as Nurse Joy, but she was still pretty good.

Ash could be seen playing in the creek in his family's backyard. Ash wants to be a pokemon trainer like his dad; he looks up to his father very much. He sees a golden pokemon flowing down the water. It looked injured. "Woah! A Magikarp!"

The boy brought the flailing pokemon into the house. He put it into the bathtub and turned on the water. "Hey, mom! Help!" Delia could be seen cooking lunch. "Okay, coming Ash."

When Delia came to the bathtub, she was surprised. She saw an injured Magikarp. That was not the strange part; no, the strange part was that it was golden instead of red. It took her a moment to realize; however, she quickly figured out that it was shiny.

She swiftly got a potion and used it on the Magikarp. "Thanks mom." "No problem, Ash."

Magikarp couldn't stay in the bathtub; so, Ash brought her to the pond in their backyard. Ash's father, Bruno, was in the Elite Four of Kanto. The job paid well. As a result, the Ketchum family was very well off. Their backyard was incredibly large. Their backyard stretched incredibly long. It was quite similar to Professor Oak's lab. It was not quite as large though. Still, it could easily accommodate many, many, pokemon in its plains, ponds, creeks, forests, and other environments.

The Ketchum's backyard met the back of Professor Oak's lab. Many people assume Professor Oak's property just entailed the space where trainer's pokemon were. However, that was not true; he had a larger property so he could study pokemon in the wild. So, many pokemon occasionally left Professor Oak's lab and went into the Ketchum's backyard.

Magikarp was thankful someone saved her. She cried out her name happily when Ash brought her to the pond. It was a pretty large pond all things considered. It was connected to the creek; though, there wasn't a current in the pond.

Over the next few weeks, the Ketchums nursed Magikarp back to health. "Magikarp, you're all healed up now. You can go." Ash said while holding back tears. "Magikarp Magi" Magikarp didn't leave the pond. She didn't want to leave the humans who showed her such kindness.

"Magikarp? You don't want to go?" Magikarp flopped happily. From then on, Magikarp didn't leave the areas of the creek that were farther away from the house. Occasionally, she did leave, but for the most part, she stayed there. It was still a sizable amount of territory.

A few months passed. One day, Magikarp found an injured Horsea floating down the stream. She brought it to the pond. When Ash came to visit her that day, she showed him Horsea. "Oh, no! I think it's badly poisoned; I'm going to get mom to help that Horsea! Okay?"

Ash ran off to his house. He brought his mother to see. After Delia healed the Horsea, she turned to Ash. "I swear, with all these water types, I think Arceus is giving you a message." "Hahaha, mom, water types are neat and all, but I want to capture a bunch of different pokemon!"

Ash found a dragon scale on Horsea. A scale that was varying degrees of blue in different places. The tip of the scale was a yellowish color.

Horsea also decided to stay with Magikarp.

Today was Ash's ninth birthday. His birthday party was over. However, his father had one last gift for him once everybody left. Bruno gave Ash a mystery egg.

Over the next few weeks, Ash took good care of the egg. Bruno thought it was a good idea that Ash got used to taking care of an egg just in case he found an egg on his journey.

After a month of hard work, the egg finally hatched. The pokemon that came out was kind of cat-like. It had pointed, yellow, ears. Most of its top half aside from its head looked brown. It had one brown stripe towards the tip of its tail. The rest of its body was yellow. It had three toes on each foot. It also had three fingers on each hand.

The pokemon was a psychic type called Abra. They slept eighteen hours a day. If trained properly, they could become extremely powerful pokemon once they evolve.

Ash was finally ten. Tomorrow was the big day; tomorrow, he was going to officially become a pokemon trainer.

Abra, Magikarp, and Horsea all looked like they would evolve soon. A faint star could be seen on Abra's head. Magikarp's muscles looked a lot more developed. Horsea was getting bigger and was getting more defined scales.

Before Ash went to bed, he watched his father defeat a challenger. The challenger was strong. Bruno only won with two pokemon to spare; one was asleep.

"Tomorrow, I will become a pokemon trainer."

Was it good? Was it bad? Please tell me! Review please :)
