Citrine looked out over the hill top. This planet for Yellow Diamond was almost finished soon she and the others would either go back to Homeworld, or they would go to another colony. It seemed like there was always another colony for Yellow Diamond. She had to stop herself, that was a negative thought; a troubled thought. It was good that her Diamond had so many colonies, both for her radiant self, but also for all the gems, even gems like herself. A Citrine, a type of quartz, nothing special. Work was an easy task at least, nothing too complicated and for the most part stress free. Fine a rock, pick it up, drop it off over there, repeat that action over and over until the day was done. They were kept so busy it was hard to keep track of time, let alone anything else other than devotion to their diamonds. And well...Citrine had seen what Yellow Diamond could do to gems. She wasn't about to go off the rails. Pick up the rock. Move the rock. Drop the rock. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat.

This particular planet was set for harvesting, and was in the finalizing stages. Because of that, it was actually planet colony six for Yellow Diamond. Of course her Diamond had asteroid colonies, moon colonies, and other outposts and bases, but of the planets just six thus far. Citrine half expected there to be a sun colony at some point. Either way the job was just about finished, and they would either go home to get some well needed recovery time or perhaps vacation time (yeah right), or be sent to another colony where the process of prepping the planet and beginning to use it's resources would begin. Still...it had been years since Citrine had seen Homeworld, and it was home.

Citrine sighed as they kicked another rock which just tumbled down the ravine they over looked. The planet was...what was a word for it? To encompass that it was dying they supposed. Well not dying, it was giving life really. To the Kindergardens that were still being used to make more Quartzes, more Agates, more Upper Crust Gems. The dirt and the mud and the water would disappear, the life that had originally been there would be no more, giving it's purpose instead to the Authority that was spreading across space.

"Hey 7XG! 7XG!" Citrine turned around, recognizing the voice that called out her properly designated cut; Facet 9O8V Cut 7XG. She looked down at her hand for a moment and hummed. Her Gem was on the back of her left hand, but she looked up as she heard her designation again, coming from a Jasper. A Morrisonite Jasper actually which had been from the same planet as Citrine. They had grown up together, as much as a gem could age, and had known each other for a long time, finding comfort in each others company.

"Hello 3H2." Citrine responded, curious what had the gem shouting so much. Gems weren't supposed to do shout unless necessary, the Agates tended to get...annoyed if they were too loud. An annoyed Agate was one that liked to shout herself, would potentially punish the Quartzes. An Annoyed Agate was one that disliked fun. It was better to keep them just on the side of pleasant, keeping oneself just on the side of behaving to stay out of proper trouble.

"The rest of us just got the news," Citrine suddenly paid more attention. This was what all of them had been waiting for after all. "You know how Pink Diamond was given one of Yellow's prospect colony planets? We're supposed to go there. Help do the initial set up you know? Get the Kindergardens set up, and then we get to go to Homeworld after the first batch pops out. Should be easy work." the Morrissonite said grinning. Morris seemed excited at the prospect, and honestly hearing that they may soon travel home had even Citrines chest buzzing with an air of anxiousness. She wanted to visit home for a change.

"You just want to play in water" Citrine had decided to get the topic off Homeworld, it was still far away from right that moment, and time was better used to focus on the next job first. So she had decided to tease Morris. Plus it was always a fun treat for her to watch the Jasper give a sheepish smile.

"Maybe I do. So what; It'll be fun. The planets are always fun in the beginning." Morris responded right back, and she wasn't wrong. Citrine agreed that a new planet was fun and exciting, not knowing what creatures or treasures were laying around it.

"...That is true." Citrine admitted. " Alright well...we better go." She reminded them both before walking with Morris back to where the nearest warp pad was. Citrine could already tell in the distance the rest of the Quartz's were being lined up in their stratas, getting ready to get onto the ships that would take them to the planet that Pink had been gifted. Perhaps that was a negative thought too, Citrine pondered.

"Her first colony..."Citrine spoke the correction out loud, to cement the idea. This would be interesting because Pink never had a colony before. Yellow and Blue Diamond always seemed to do the colonization,, at least for as long as Citrine had been around. White didn't go to her own colonies, though Citrine wagered she was probably just far too busy. Still...traveling in space, seeing new planets, new stars...Citrine enjoyed that the most. Most likely too much for their own good, Despite the wandering thoughts she could already hear her Agate shouting, snapping her from them.

"Where is 7XG?" Rang over the noise of Quartzes chattering away, their boots marching on the ground, the idle anticipation of wanting to move but not yet able to.

"Gotta go!" Citrine told the Morrisonite before taking off. She ran and slid across some gravel into formation. " Here Agate!" She called, doing her salute and trying to not draw more attention. Just don't make eye contact and perhaps she wouldn't be in trouble for being tardy.

"...I know you weren't there a few moments ago. Stay in formation and all of you get your butts on that ship now!" The Agate screeched. Citrine just sighed but headed to the pad, at least she hadn't gotten in worse trouble. One look back at the planet, the smallest of breezes from the wait as others used it blew her hair a bit.

The warp pad lit up after she walked up on it; she closed her eyes, before opening them on the ship. She immediately moved out of the way, not wanting to be run over, moving to take her 'seat' which really meant standing in place against the wall as they waited for the rest of the group. Once her Agate was on board (with a dirty look in her direction) they were off. To the Crystal System, with Peridots and Nephrites flying the ship. It wouldn't take long she supposed, not with the way the ships kept getting faster and better. Citrine looked towards the front, barely able to see the front screen, to see space, but between a few of the other gems, she could catch glimpses. Citrine knew she wasn't supposed to, it was too easy for a Quartz to get distracted but...she hadn't been expecting the planet to be somewhat close to the screen, to be that large. She wasn't expecting it to be so...vibrant either. Blues and greens showed in the screen and...it was beautiful. The entire planet seemed like an gem, and had so much color.

It was bright.

It was vibrant.

And full of nutrients; of life they would use in the Kindergardens. This would be an amazing colony for Pink.
