Prologue

In times before they made the Eden Engine, a beautiful beacon of light, able to purge all darkness from the world. But light with no darkness is blinding and Balance is important in all things, it was not long before the Engine broke down, and the darkness saw it's chance. In the Golden Wastes the polluted water was churning. It went unnoticed, until it was complete, releasing the Dark Dragons when they were unprepared. The Dragons quickly roosted around Eden, If no one could get there to fix it, it would run itself to death and darkness could rule. For years Shooting Stars landed and would trek to Eden where they would die, never even managing to get close to the true contraption. Then one day the Shooting stars stopped falling. Eden broke down further and Darkness increased it's grasp on the land. But Balance is important in all things. Stars began to fall again, this time stronger, smarter, and more prepared. Thus our story begins, with two stars, landing at the same time onto the soft ground of their new, empty Home. A voice called out in both of their heads with one simple message.

"Fix the Engine."

He woke up first, he had short hair and a spear on his back, he might not have training but he had instinct. He noticed her almost immediately. He stared timidly, he didn't know if she was asleep or dead or why she was here or why he was here actually.

She awoke with a shield on her back, made of wood with a diamond shaped hole in the center. It was small but it shouldn't be in a shield. She had longer hair pulled up in a ponytail, she noticed him immediately, standing over her with a worried expression on his face.

"Can I help you?"

"Ah! I didn't know if you were okay."

"Well I am! Who are you anyways?" She said standing up.

"My name is Chrine, what's yours?" She took a moment to look him over, making sure he wouldn't be a threat, he looked more like a wuss then he would be dangerous.

"My name is Bree. So, what is this place?"

"I… don't know, I woke up here not too long ago, hey wait, do you remember anything before just now?"

"What are you talking about!? Of course I remember- oh my god what has happened to us!?"

"Were- were we just… born?" Bree was getting a bit upset with the whole situation and this possible valid theorey wasn't helping.

"There has to be answers somewhere, maybe if we look arou- EEP!" Bree was interrupted by the cracking of lightning, a storm was on the horizon, and it was approaching them fast. A stone arch flashed as a pool of light slowly welled in the middle, it was a pink color but the stone was decaying and crumbled, some of the pink light was leaking from the broken stones. They looked at each other.

"Do we go in? I think it's a gate." Chrine broke the silence between them.

"I don't see another option!" Chrine pressed his face against the welling light, it felt like glass, that he might be able to walk through, he could almost see through it and he could see a cave. Chrine turned around and held out his hand.

"Hold my hand." Bree hesitated, she didn't understand why but she felt as if she didn't know him enough to grab onto his hand but did anyway. Chrine pushed further and travelled through, pulling Bree with him, into the gate and they vanished. The winds howled through the now empty land where they once stood, the stones waiting for their return.
