Sometime in July, X784
Hargeon town a large port in the country of Fiore, what would normally be a quiet and serene place, was currently in chaos, a huge tidal wave crashes into the port, carrying a passenger ship with it, and on the shore next to the boat was what looked to be a screaming teenager sat next to a very angry looking fish women
"What's the big deal, dya think you could not wash me away with the ship?" she asked from her sat-down position looking up, angrily staring at women.
"Oh that was an accident, I didn't mean to get the ship," she says smugly turning away from the even angrier girl.
"WAIT, that was aimed at me?!" she asks a tick mark appearing on her forehead.
"Don't call me again for a while, I'm going on a weeklong vacation with my boyfriend…and he's hot," her smug tone not disappearing.
"You don't have to rub it in you know!" the girl again snaps back, but none the less the fish women had vanished,
As the girl got up from where she was, she looked around before she spotted the overturned ship her spirit had just caused, at that said ship, their occupants stand up dazed and injured from their ship being thrown about, a man with a tattoo above his right eye looks around the destroyed ship, this man was Bora, a slave trader who had just tried to kidnap the girl from before, it was going all well till that guy showed up.
"That hurt, what in th-," only to be cut off as a figure emerged above where he and his goons were recovering, a boy with jet black hair stood over them, his eyes covered by his hair as he stood up tall, overlooking the crowd of goons.
"Gray!" the girl from before shouts running towards the ship, scared that he may be injured or worse, although she stops as she sees his expression, one of focus and anger
"So you guys are from fairy tail huh?" Gray asks shoving his hand in his pockets, his eyes glazing over each and every member of Bora's crew.
"that's strange because I don't think I've seen you before in the guild hall before," he says his hands coming out of his pockets as he slams his fist into an open palm as ice starts to dance off him.
That's when she saw it, the symbol; the symbol of the guild she so desperately wanted, to join "Wh-what Gray, your part of fairy tail!?" she shouted astonished
Gray hearing her shout looked over, his spell vanishing
"Oh hey lucy; was that tidal wave you, great job," he shouts over to her, throwing her a thumbs up, lucy was about to reply before she suddenly had to avert her eyes,
"WHERE DID YOUR PANTS GO?" Lucy shouted into the ground 'jeez I swear he had them on when he started talking' she thinks to herself before she hears his reply.
"WHAT DA HELL!" he shouts, looking around frantically that was until he remembered what he was doing,
"I'll talk to you after I finish with these idiots," he says regaining his calmness and glaring down at the very confused crew,
"Right Bora, why don't you come in quietly, would make my life a hell of a lot easier," he says jumping down to their level.
As soon as he does two goons rush him trying to get a quick hit, Gray ducks under the first punch sticking out his left leg and tripping one up, the other goon aims low for his stomach so Gray catches the goons fist and sends a right hook knocking one out, as the other one try's to get up Gray knocks him out kicking him in the jaw.
"That mark on his chest, he's the real deal, Bora," A lacky with an eye patch says pointing towards Gray, his hand trembling
"Hah, I guess there's no point in keeping my identity and secret anymore seeing as you already know it," he says sweating slightly 'I'm really screwed here, he finally tracked me down, I need to escape' he thinks looking around frantically for an exit,
"It's been a few weeks, but I finally tracked you down, I mean saying you're going to be showing off a famous fairy tail member on your ship, how obvious did you want to be?" Gray says his fist once again in his palm
"Anyway, by that look in your eyes your thinking of escaping, but I'm not gonna let that happen," as he says that ice begins to swirl around him mesmerising the remaining crew who hadn't been knocked out by the ship beaching.
'Shit I've got to do something' Bora panicked
"Prominac-" "Ice-Make: Ice Geyser!"
Interrupting Bora's cast a massive geyser of ice sprouted from underneath Bora freezing him before he even had a chance to get out his spell, Bora's goons looked at the frozen statue back to the half-naked man and then back to the statue, before screaming and running off
Gray scoured the area for any more attackers before settling on his pants and shirt which were exactly in the same place, weird.
Lucy ran over to where Gray was and made sure he was alright, before looking around at the destruction
"So you're a member of fairy tail?" she asks ecstatic that she's meeting someone from her favourite guild, although she did imagine her first encounter with someone from there to be, well more clothed.
"Yeah, did I not mention that in the café?" he asked confused.
Lucy looks dumbfounded for a few seconds before thinking back to when Gray had just distracted every single girl Bora was talking to by strolling through the crowd in just his shirt…JUST his shirt, and broken her out of her charm spell, she invited him to lunch as thanks, she then remembers talking about guilds
"My favourite guild is Fairy Tail, and I rea-"oh yeah I'm a part of that guild,"-lly want to join them, it's my dream" realising she completely ignored what he was saying as she was too busy thinking about fairy tail she flushed red.
"Anyway we better get going, I think the last train leaves soon, the Rune knights will clear this up so we can get going." He says putting back on his shirt and walking towards the station his hands in his pockets.
"What do you mean?" she asks confused as to why he wants her to come with him
"You said you wanted to join fairy tail so c'mon let's go, I'd rather not be here when the Rune knights get here," he says continuing to walk towards the station.
Lucy stands there for a few seconds taken aback, this was her chance, a chance to be free of the life she left behind to not have to listen to her father go on about what she can and can't do, to someone else, it would be just them joining a guild, but for her, it was a new life, a chance to change everything
"All right," she says jogging in her torn-up dress to catch up to him.
14 hours later, Magnolia
Lucy had stayed in a hotel when she arrived in magnolia, as the guild had closed for the night so she would join in the morning, getting ready that day she was about to burst from excitement, leaving her hotel room, she walked towards the guild hall, which Gray had shown her last night, reaching the door she took a deep breath a pushed the door open ready to start her adventure…
"What the hell?" she says looking at the absolute chaos that the guild hall was, and what looked to be a flying cat…'A FLYING CAT' she screams in her head
"Head's up!" someone shouted from inside the crowd as she ducked from a chair being thrown near her.
"This place is crazy," she whispered
"Oh hello there, you must be the girl Gray was talking about this morning," a sweet voice said from the side of her, turning her head she saw one of the, if not the most famous model in all of Fiore.
"Mi-Mirajane?!" she shouted before quickly covering her mouth and blushing and muttering apologies, Mira smiled at her before nodding
"Mihm, Lucy was it, Gray was telling us all about how you created a tidal wave and destroyed half of Hargeon beach, so it's fine to say you'll fit in fine here," Mira says sweetly, Lucy flushed red once again whispering something about dumb fish women; before looking back up and smiling
"So where would you like your stamp and what colour," she asks pulling out the stamp.
Lucy thought for a few seconds before holding out her right hand.
"Back of my right hand in pink please," Mira smiled as she placed it where she had asked; Lucy's excitement overflowing as she felt the small rush of magic flow throughout her.
Holding her hand out in front of her she admired it for a few seconds before she looked back up
"So I've got to ask," Lucy said looking at Mira curiously, "what's with the flying cat?"
Mira looked at said flying cat then back at Lucy, then back to the flying Cat, before smiling, but Lucy could tell there was a hint of sadness behind that smile, and there was definitely a story, but none the less she wasn't going to pry into it, for now at least.
"His name is Happy, and honestly, we have no idea either he can't remember where he came from, which doesn't really surprise me, he did hatch from an egg so," she says putting a finger to her chin and looking up towards the sky
"An egg wow that's weird…WAIT HE CAN TALK?" She shouts her eyes wide and her jaw hanging open 'this place just one-ups itself in weirdness each time someone speaks'
Mira giggles and is about to speak before being interrupted by the cat in question.
"Mira, cannnnnn I have a fishy?" Happy asks pleading with the best cute eyes he can muster.
"Of course Happy, as long as I go into the back and there is exactly the number of fish there that there were this morning then that won't be a problem," she says her smile turning almost twisted, it certainly sent a shiver down Lucy's spine, Happy on the other hand was sweating profusely
"Actuallyyyyyyy I don't want a fishy, ill go back over there now bye blondie, bye Mira," As a happy quickly flew of a tick mark formed on Lucy's head she was about to go and shout at the cat for getting her name wrong(Even though he didn't know it) when Mira suddenly got taken out next to her by a big massive guy with the same colour hair, then Gray walked past her with no clothes on, then he got stamped on by a massive monster, which actually turned out to be the master, which to her is crazy.
Then Gray went to some mountain to get some guy back, so she trailed after him and nearly got kidnapped but it all worked out in the end; all in all her first day as fairy tail wizard didn't exactly go as planned, but she wouldn't trade it for the world.
(Heartfilla Mansion 1 day prior to Lucy joining Fairy Tail)
"Damn it all," Jude Heartfilla sat overlooking the grounds after he had just been informed there was no luck in finding his daughter.
'I guess I really was too distant, if she doesn't want to come back then she won't have to,' he thinks looking up at his family portrait, where Layla, Lucy and he stood all smiling
"It's not what she would want at all," his eyes lingering on Layla, he stood up and grabbed the edge of the painting, swinging it open to reveal a vault.
"I can't protect her any longer," opening the vault he stares at the contents for a few seconds before pulling them out "but I know he will, he promised Layla after all," pulling out a scroll and opening it a communication lacrima was summoned, he placed it down and pressed the button on the front as it began ringing.
The ringing on the other line stopped after a few moments of silence someone spoke.
"I always wondered when you were going to call me, Jude," the voice on the other line was mature, gruff but smoky at the same time, Jude was surprised to hear that the person's voice hadn't changed, even if it had been nearly 16 years.
"Hello…Natsu," the words came out slowly, it almost sounded foreign to him it had been so long.
"So after 16 years you finally call, not a letter to how you or Lucy are doing, nothing, just a random call," Natsu sighs before speaking again "what do you need," he asks curiously
"It's about Lucy; S-she's well," he coughs slightly his mouth dry "S-she's,"
"Spit it out," Natsu interrupts, Jude calms himself before speaking again
"Lucy has run away, I have no idea where she is nor do I wish for her to come back, she was unhappy here and because of that I want her to be free…its what Layla would want," He finally gets out, there is no response from Natsu for a few seconds before a heavy sigh is heard.
"Like mother like daughter hey," a small laugh is heard on the other side "she must be a lot like her mother then huh?" Natsu says slowly, you can almost hear him reminiscing "She was a really good friend Jude, I still miss her," Natsu speaks his tone void of any emotion.
"So do I…so do I," Jude agrees, momentarily going off to dreamland
"So why did you call me, you definitely didn't call me catch up, so what is it," Natsu says his tone going back to how it was like at the start, Jude contemplates whether he wants to go through with this before nodding to himself.
"I need you to protect her Natsu, I want her to be safe, I want nothing more, and I can't do that anymore, but I know you can," Jude finally says his tone starting to sound like that of a father and less of a stone-cold businessman.
Silence is all that can be heard for the best part of 10 seconds, Jude could swear he could hear his own heartbeat, and then he finally spoke again
"You promised Layla…that you would take care of Lucy, so please Natsu, If I have to beg I will," Jude pleaded into the lacrima, 10 more seconds passed, and then another heavy sigh was heard.
"Yeah, I'll do it," he muttered something about always fulfilling his promises and something about wouldn't be him if he didn't, which Jude didn't really hear, Natsu then spoke again "She say anything before she left, where she was going or anything," he spoke quizzically.
"She was always fascinated with guilds as a kid and an early teen, she really liked one called Fairy something, can't remember it and that's why I haven't searched there," Jude says racking his brain for the millionth time about this name, he couldn't remember it for the life of him, magic guilds were not his strong point at all.
Natsu was silent for a moment before speaking, his voice came slow and almost sceptical.
"It's not Fairy Tail…is it?" Jude's mind suddenly lit up like a light bulb
"AHA that's it yes, why is that a bad thing, is it a dangerous guild!?" Jude asked into the lacrima.
"Jude have I ever told you that I really really really hate fate; because I really don't like fate!" Natsu said his voice rising to a shout at the end.
"Not that I can remember," Jude said after thinking for a few seconds
"IT WAS RHETORICAL," Natsu shouted back, again sighing "Right no it's not particularly bad or anything just, well bad for me but she'll be fine," he says finally settling down.
Jude was quiet again for a few seconds before finally speaking again
"Thank you Natsu, really thank you," Jude says as a tear escapes his eye "I failed her as a father, b-but I know she can at least be safe," He says quietly, a soft smile adorning his face.
"Yeah-Yeah no problem Jude, anyway, stay safe," he says as he disconnects the call.
Jude sits in his chair, before standing again and looking at the portrait of his family,
"She's going to be okay Layla; she's going to be just fine"

Pergrande Kingdom Same time
In a back street of Hercules city in the Pergrande kingdom a figure dressed in a raggedy black cloak with his long pink hair tied up into a high ponytail, stood overlooking the sun as it set, his lacrima he had just been using placed into his backpack, he finally stood up, his face was rough but soft at the same time, looking to be in his mid-twenties, a triangular scar on the bottom of his left cheek.
"Guess it's finally time I go back to Fiore; heh well I guess it's been long enough," as he stood up his cloak flapping in the wind revealing a large number of scars littered his stomach and chest some that didn't look bad, other's that looked deadly, he stood up and looked around before deciding his bearing's and headed towards Fiore.
So like yeah, this concept popped up in my head and I couldn't let it go, so yeah there's probably a few, yeah a few plot holes but its fineeeee, anyway lemme know what you think.
