I decided to try something which was from Sportacus's view point rather than Robbie's which tends to be my normal, I've also made Robbie a fairy or fae in this story which is another first for me so be kind. Warnings this is a romantic and fluffy fiction, there is some angst and there are two males in love. I have dyslexia so please no comments on spelling and grammar. This was original supposed to be just a one shot, but ended up not being so. Lol.
Enchanting the hero's heart.
Chapter one:
The moment Sportacus met Robbie he had felt the magic which swirled around him, too Sportacus it was like a gentle and warm summer breeze. Feeling magic coming from someone else after so long had surprised Sportacus greatly, but also thrilled him at the same time. He had been so used to being the only one in the area with magic and having no one to discuss magic with.
Sportacus had really hoped that he would be able to form some sort of friendship with Robbie so they could talk about magic with each other. This dream though had shattered quickly, as Robbie made it as abundantly clear to him that he had no intention of being any kind of friend towards him and instead Robbie wanted him to leave town forever.
After Sportacus had been living in Lazy Town for a little while he began to wonder if Robbie didn't want him to leave town because of the reasons he gave him, but rather wanted him to leave because Robbie was concerned that he would say something about his magic and thereby draw unwanted attention to him.
This thought lead to Sportacus wondering what Robbie was exactly, he was sure that Robbie wasn't an elf, but that still left quite a few options, those being a wizard, a warlock, or some sort of fae.
As he became more curious about Robbie's magic Sportacus began to carefully observe him and tried his best not to show to the villain that he as investigating his magic. Sportacus was being so careful about his investigation of Robbie, because he felt sure that if he became aware of what he was doing that Robbie would become very angry with him and it might withdraw from him further.
Watching Robbie so closely caused a side effect that Sportacus had not expected at all, he had started to fall in love with Robbie. Sportacus found himself adoring Robbie's pouting, he loved hearing him sing and uncovering the fact that Robbie could dance and very well was like the most wonderful thing he had ever discovered.
Sportacus longed to be able to tell Robbie how he really felt about him, rather than having to act like he didn't love him in the slightest, however he felt sure that doing this would probably lead to rejection and mocking of him and Sportacus really didn't want to experience that. So, in the end he decided to keep his growing love for Robbie to himself for now, and hope that maybe at some point he would be able to tell Robbie how he really felt about him.
Slowly but surely Sportacus had noticed some of the ways in which Robbie used his magic, he could appear and disappear at will. Robbie would walk around a wall, Sportacus wouldn't be far behind and yet when he came around the corner Robbie was always gone.
At first Sportacus assumed that Robbie was somehow making his way into the lair through manholes, but when he checked around nine times out of ten when Robbie vanished there was no manhole around for him to have used to disappear. He also checked to see if this was also the same for when Robbie made his appearances and sure enough it was.
Having been up close to many of Robbie's inventions Sportacus came to see that there was also a slight amount of magic in them too. This magic did various things to the inventions, such as make them more durable or more life like than they would be normally.
Then Sportacus noticed what would happen when Robbie disguised himself, no one would pick up on it being Robbie, not even himself and it was this fact which finally started to settle in Sportacus's mind that Robbie was probably some kind of fae.
This secret knowledge pleased Sportacus greatly, he hugged it to him tightly and felt over joyed at the prospect that Robbie might be a fae. If he was, then Sportacus as an elf didn't need to worry that he would outlive Robbie or that they wouldn't be compatible with each other.
Sportacus had never told anyone, but ever since he was young and seen illustrations of fae, especially ones with wings and with long hair, in the story and history books at school, he had found them both beautiful and desirable. He has always secretly hoped in his hearts of hearts that he might be able to find a fae as the one he could love with all of his heart and spend the rest of his long life with.
Sportacus was aware that Robbie was completely single, but there was still one more issue standing between him and confessing anything to Robbie, which was other than Robbie's likely rejection of him, was if Robbie was attracted to males in a romantic way.
It was times like this that Sportacus wished he could be closer to Robbie so that he could just ask him all of the questions which he had about him and his life. Sure, they had times when they didn't hate each other and Robbie would be semi friendly towards him, but it was not a relationship one could call a close friendship or one where he could just ask him these things and expect a straight answer out of Robbie.
A heartfelt sigh left Sportacus, he placed his chin into his hand and staired out at the blue sky before him. A smile turned up the ends of his mouth as he thought about when he had carried Robbie earlier that day, it had felt so good to hold him and surprisingly Robbie hadn't smelt of sweets, but instead of an earthy herbal scent.
It had been really hard for him not to hug Robbie close to him, nuzzle his nose into the side of his neck, inhale that scent, before kissing him thoroughly. Sportacus had no doubt that he would spend some time for the rest of the day daydreaming about doing just this.
Sportacus pondered what it might be like to have Robbie return his feelings and renounce villainy in order to be with him. This idea filled him with delight and Sportacus found himself wishing with all his might that this would come to pass.
Another sigh issued from him and he murmured to himself. "That's never going to happen. I should really try to move on…"
He was well aware that despite knowing he shouldn't be in love with Robbie and that he should try to move on from him, he wouldn't be able to. Sportacus had actually tried to ignore and get rid of his feelings towards Robbie, but they had proven to be enduring and unmoving. So, in the end all he had no choice but to embrace them and realise that the love he felt towards Robbie was not going to be something he could make go away.
A few weeks later during one of the kid's games which had gotten out of hand, some stones fell down towards Sportacus from part of the Lazy Town castle's battlements. Sportacus let out a huff of surprised as he was grabbed around the waist and forcefully pulled backwards. "Look out!" Robbie and the kids all yelled at the same time.
Sportacus took a deep relieved breath when the masonry missed him, he let it out, then looked at the slender purple clad arms around his waist and tried very hard not to revel in the feeling of Robbie holding him, but still felt a rush of joy go through him anyway. Slowly Sportacus turned within Robbie's grasp, he looked up into his grey eyes, smiled at him and said to him gratefully. "Thank you, for saving me Robbie."
A blush appeared on his cheeks, Robbie coughed in embarrassment and then said shyly. "You're welcome. Are you alright?"
Sportacus smiled up at him saying gratefully as he did so. "I'm fine thanks to you."
The blush on Robbie's face grew. "Yes well…Even I wouldn't want you to be hurt like that."
With Robbie being this kind to him, the thoughts that they could somehow be together intruded into Sportacus's mind and before he could stop himself, he was asking. "Robbie, can I talk to you about something?"
Robbie shot him a look which was both concerned and surprised. "Well…I suppose so…"
"Great! Come on!" Sportacus enthused, grabbed one of the hands around him, then pulled Robbie off away from the area and the children and to somewhere more private.
Robbie stumbled after Sportacus, but didn't fight the hero and instead just permitted him to pull him along. When Sportacus came to a halt it was so sudden that Robbie almost collided with him, but managed to stop himself from doing so just in time.
When Sportacus turned around to talk to Robbie, he found him so close that his nose was inches from Robbie's chest and as he took a surprised breath in that scent of Robbie's filled his nose. All Sportacus wanted to do in that moment was kiss Robbie and as he looked down at him that desire inside Sportacus grew exponentially.
Little did Sportacus know that he wasn't alone in his desire to share a kiss. Robbie was having his own internal battle about kissing Sportacus, eventually he won over this desire and took a small step backwards from Sportacus but didn't look away from him.
As soon as Robbie moved back from him slightly Sportacus felt a surge of upset and disappointment travel through him, while at the same time he struggled with the urge not to grab Robbie and pull him back towards him.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Robbie enquired of him curiously.
Sportacus quickly groped around his head for an idea when inspiration struck. "Magic…I wanted to talk to you about magic…I'm fairly sure you've noticed I have some and I wanted to let you know that I had noticed yours to."
"Yes, I am aware that you have magic and I am fairly sure I know where yours comes from elf boy." Robbie said the elf boy part in a teasing voice, rather than his usual disparaging voice.
A chuckle left Sportacus. "Well, it would appear you did work out where my magic came from…Yours however, I've had a lot more trouble identifying it. Would you be willing to share with me what you are?"
Robbie hummed thoughtfully as he considered this request, he then gave Sportacus a devilish smile. "No, I don't think I will tell you. I'd like to see you try to work it out."
Sportacus shook his head at Robbie as he playfully teased him and chuckled himself. "Hm…Well as I have watched you and known you for a while, I've come to the conclusion that you're not a wizard or a warlock…So that only really leaves a fae…So am I right? Are you a fae Robbie?"
"Maybe." Robbie told him with a smirk and a lift of one eyebrow.
"So that means yes." Sportacus said smirking back at him.
A chuckle left Robbie as Sportacus joined in with the banter. He took a few moments to think over whether to tell Sportacus he was correct about him and if he should inform him as to what type of fae he was. In the end Robbie decided that he was having far too much fun with this to tell Sportacus the truth at this time and so he asked back. "How is maybe a yes?"
"Because I know you and if the answer to my guess was a no, you'd have said so and then mocked me for being wrong." Sportacus told him confidently.
"Who says I am not trying to steer you in completely the wrong direction?" Robbie enquired with hints of laughter in his voice.
A wide smile broke out on Sportacus's face. "Oh, now I am sure that my guess is correctly. Hm so you are a fae…I bet you have wings too. I wonder how you hide them…?"
As Sportacus contemplated this he walked around Robbie looking at him closely. Robbie followed his progress around him with raised eyebrows. "Not all fae have wings."
"Hm, well that confirms my fae suspicions." Sportacus told him smirking.
"I guess it might…But I could merely be pointing out a fact which happens to be true." Robbie said to him in a reasonable voice.
When Sportacus came to stand in front of Robbie, he looked up at him saying as he did so. "You're not going to fool me this time Robbie, I know I am right about you being a fae. So, do you have wings or not?"
Robbie met Sportacus's intense gaze and asked in an amused voice. "If I won't confirm I am a fae, what makes you think I am going to say if I have anything like wings or not?"
"Then I guess I'll just have to investigate until I know the truth…Just imagine me watching you and following you around until I know the truth." Sportacus told him with a look and note of determination to his voice.
"I've never seen you so single-minded about something other than exercise and healthy food before now." Robbie said clearly surprised by the determination of Sportacus when it came to this subject. "Why are you so interested in whether I am a fae or not and if I am if I have wings?"
With a shake of the head Sportacus responded to this question. "Oh no! That would be telling and since you aren't cooperating with me, I have no intention of giving you extra information about me."
"I believe as this is getting no were fast so I'm going." Robbie announced to Sportacus before turning away from him and walking away.
"WAIT!" Sportacus called out after him.
Robbie came to a halt he turned his head to looked back at Sportacus and asked him in a huff. "Well, what is it?"
Sportacus jogged up to him, he stopped a short distance of him and asked curiously. "Will I ever get to know where your magic comes from?"
"Maybe…I'll have to think about it." Robbie told him, before turning away again and continuing on his way home.
Not wanting to push Robbie any further and hoping that maybe finally he had gotten somewhere with him, Sportacus allowed him to go home. If he was honest this interaction with Robbie had gone a lot better than he had expected it to and it left him with hope glowing in his heart brighter than it had before.
When Robbie reached the lair, he settled down in his chair his eyes were lost in thought, it had been a long time since anyone picked up on his magical heredity. With Sportacus having his own magic it didn't surprise him that he had noticed it, however he was rather startled that Sportacus seemed to be very interested in perusing the subject of his magic.
It would be nice to share his secret with someone after so many years and Robbie knew that he could trust Sportacus to keep his secret, after all Sportacus hadn't told anyone about his magic and in his own turn Robbie had not informed anyone about Sportacus's or the fact that the town hero was in fact an elf.
Now he considered things from Sportacus's stand point it would be thrilling to have another magical being in the same area as him. If Robbie was honest with himself, it was actually rather nice to have someone else in Lazy Town who had magic.
It had been clear to Robbie during their earlier interaction that Sportacus was attracted to him, this had thrilled him and he had fought hard not to show this to Sportacus. It had been extremely difficult for him not to respond to that attraction from him with his own for Sportacus.
Robbie found himself wondering if it could be possible that Sportacus wasn't just attracted to him but was also in love with him. Carefully Robbie looked back at their interaction as he did so, he began to notice that despite his attempts to hide it from him Sportacus was in deed in love with him.
This knowledge sent a surge of delight through Robbie, he was thrilled by the idea of Sportacus was in love with him and it made him want to share his own feelings of love with him. For some time now Robbie had been concealing his growing romantic feelings towards Sportacus the best he could and he was quite sure that Sportacus was not aware of them at all.
There was only one last thing which he had to consider and that was that if he entered into a relationship with Sportacus, he would need to give up being the town villain. Robbie was surprised when this idea did not fill him with displeasure and fear as much as he would have expected it to. Robbie wondered if this was because he knew deep down, he didn't want to make Sportacus leave and that none of his plots would ever defeat the hero.
Robbie felt that Sportacus wouldn't object to him continuing to make costumes and inventions, as long as they were not for underhanded reasons. It could be interesting to invent for good purposes and make costumes on commission from people. Robbie sighed he must really be in love if he was actually contemplating making these changes in his life for Sportacus.
Slowly Robbie sat back in his chair, his eyes were lost in thought as he seriously considered showing Sportacus both how he felt about him and where his magic originated from. Slowly an idea formed in his head, a wicked smile settled on his face and said softly to himself in a pleased voice. "Yes, perfect."
