Author's Note: Hello, everyone. This is a fanfic that I never considered before. This fanfic came as a special request by Lord Zeppelin. We've been discussing on the details of the fanfic for a month now, and I've binged the entire Proud Family series, movie, and reboot just for this. We've also been going over other a lot of quotes to use in this. We both hope you enjoy this fic.
We will be going through the canon Proud Family storyline, but with some additional chapters that include Little Mac. Also, let's pretend that all the kids in this fanfic are in high school. Same thing with the Punch Out characters. Imagine everyone at high school age, including Little Mac. It will make things easier for what I've got planned. I know his canon age is 17, but it seems a bit too old for high school and I'd like him to befriend Penny Proud and her friends there. Also, this will be a musical fanfic, but unlike my other musicals, there won't be a song parody in every chapter. This time, it will become occasional.
Enjoy the fanfic. Any and all comments are welcome.
It's been a long ride for Mac Poco-Leone. Ever since his plane left New York, he had a long conversation with an elderly stranger. He was a smaller-than-average teenager with black hair, a black shirt, and green shorts above his black boots.
"And that's how I discovered that my own poodle had been eating my chestnuts."
"That's great, Gladys. But all I asked for was your name."
"Sorry. I've been rambling. What about you, Mac? What brings you to Smithville?"
"I'm actually moving in with my aunt and uncle." Mac answered. "See, my mom got a new job out of state and couldn't afford to keep me just yet, so she sent me here until further notice."
"Oh. That's nice." Gladys said.
Mac shrugged. "I guess. I mean, I like my aunt and uncle, but my cousin on the other hand… she can be a bit much."
"Well, when was the last time you saw them?"
"Ever since our last family reunion last July. So I don't expect her to change much."
"Well, I'm sure your time in Smithville is going to be eventful. Who knows? Maybe your cousin will be nicer."
Mac didn't say anything, but his hopes were straining.
After the plane landed, Mac headed to the luggage belt where he picked up his suitcase. On his way out the front entrance, he came across a TV that was showing a promotional video. Among the purple background, there was a black man in a business suit. He was so tall, not all of his face could be seen on screen.
"Hey, y'all. I'm Wizard Kelly, the man who put Smithville on the map. I'm here to wish you all a warm welcome to our beautiful town. If you are choosing to move here, you have made the right choice. If you're visiting, I know that it'll be a memorable trip. And that's the Wizard guarantee."
"Hmm. This guy is quite a character." Mac said to himself. "Though, if he's anything like the politicians back at New York, there's got to be some conniving stuff behind his green."
"Yo! Mac! Little nephew Mac!"
Mac turned to the voice that called out to him. He cracked a smile when he saw the little overweight man with a gray shirt and a thin mustache over his lip. He was accompanied by a tall, Spanish woman in a red shirt, brown hair, and gold earrings. Right beside the both of them were a young girl who was just a tiny bit taller than Mac who kept her eyes on her phone.
Mac approached the family and hugged the man first. "Hey, Uncle Felix." He gave another happy hug to the woman. "You too, Aunt Sunset." He turned to the girl and just gave a blank expression. "LaCienega."
"Mac." The girl greeted back. "You've gotten… shorter."
"Good to see you too, cuz." Mac said. "But if you're here, who's guarding Hades?"
"Kids, be nice." Sunset said. "So how was your flight, Mac?"
"Well, I had a very lengthy conversation with my travel mate." Mac said. "Right now, I'm ready to settle at your house."
"Well, remember, kiddo," Felix said, "While you're with us, it's your house too. Come on. Let's head to the car."
Mac was very much surprised at the size of his new home. It was like a palace which he greatly admired as he stepped out of the car.
"Whoa! That place looks bigger than Central Park!" Mac commented. "And this is all here in the suburbs?"
"Oh, yeah. And let me tell you, this place is muy bueno." Felix said. "Affordable living conditions. A good school system."
"That reminds me." Sunset said. "We're having you enrolled at Willy T. Ribbs High School next week."
"Yeah. We've even got some excitable neighbors." Felix continued.
"Hey! Felix!"
"Speaking of whom…" Felix turned to see a tall, thin, black man approach him. "Hey, Oscar. How was your day?"
"Well, same old." That's when the man named Oscar noticed the new kid. "Uh, Felix, who's the new kid?"
"Oscar, this is our nephew, Mac Poco-Leone." Felix introduced. "He's staying with us for a while. We just picked him up from the airport. Mac, this is Oscar Proud, my friend… for reasons beyond my understanding."
"Well, nice to meet you, Mr. Proud." Mac greeted.
"Thanks, kid." Oscar said. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a purple snack bag with his face on it. "Since you're new in town, how's about I treat you with a complimentary bag of Proud Snacks, straight from the company that I run."
Before Mac could answer, Felix pulled him away. "Don't do it, Mac. It's a trick."
"He's just offering me a snack."
"That's the trick." Felix said.
Oscar chuckled nervously. "Come on, Felix. I think we should let the pre-teen make up his own mind."
Mac glared at the snack man. "I'm 15."
"For real?" Oscar asked surprised.
Mac turned his glare to the ground. "Thanks for the offer, Mr. Proud, but I think I'll pass on your snacks."
"Your loss, kid." Oscar said taking back his snack bag. "Well, I'm off to get some grub... and say hi to my family too. See you later, Felix. And good meeting you, kid." And with that, he walked off.
Felix chuckled playfully. "That Oscar. Dumb as a rock, but he's still fun to hang around with. Anyway, let's get you inside."
The family walked into the house. And just like the exterior, Mac was astonished by the interior.
"Holy cow!" Mac gasped. "This place gets better and better! I could stare at this place forever."
Mac suddenly got blasted by a surprise spray to his face. The foul odor that hit him made him gag and cough. He barely got a glimpse at what sprayed something at him. It turned out to be a short, old man with green hair and a purple suit.
"Papi, don't!" Felix yelled out taking the spray can from the old man. Meanwhile, Sunset was checking on Mac helping him recover from the spray quickly. "Papi, this is Mac. He's Sunset's nephew. He's staying with us for a while. Don't you remember?"
"Oh. Mi error. Lo confundi con un pequeno y molesto insecto. (Translation: Oh. My mistake. I mistook it for a small and annoying insect.) HOOHAHAHAHAHA!"
After recovering from the spray, Mac turned to Felix and the old man. "Uncle Felix, what the heck?"
"Sorry, Mac." Felix said. "Anyway, meet my father. Everyone calls him Papi. Sorry about that. He can get confused sometimes."
"Well, good to meet you, Papi." Mac greeted. "I'm Mac."
"Y estoy esperando el dia en que mi hijo me permita administrar esta casa despues de que se haya ido. (Translation: And I'm looking forward to the day my son will let me run this house after he's gone.) HOOHAHAHAHAHA!"
"What did he say?" Mac asked.
"Who knows?" Felix replied.
"LaCienega dear," Sunset said, "Would you mind taking Mac to the guest bedroom."
"Sure thing, Mama." LaCienega said. She headed up the stairs and Mac followed dragging his suitcase up with him. He followed his cousin until she stopped in front of a room.
"Here's the guest bedroom."
"Well, this should be fun." Mac said as he turned the doorknob and opened the door. But as soon as he did, his expression dropped. Most of the entire room was made up of girly clothes racks. "What the… Why does my room look like a princess dressing room at Disney World?"
"Oh, that?" LaCienega asked. "Yeah, I kinda ran out of room in my closet, so I converted this room into my walk-in closet."
"Where I'm supposed to sleep?" Mac asked. "LaCienega, I don't want the first thing I see in the morning to be the color pink!"
"And I don't want my tiny cousin going to my school. So I guess we're both living with disappointment."
"Well, will you at least clear one of these racks so I can hang up my clothes?"
"I could, but I don't want to."
"Fine! Then I'll do it!"
Mac approached one of the clothes racks and reached his fit arms out to grab the row of clothes from both sides. He squeezed them together much to LaCienega's worry. He picked them all up before throwing them on the ground. They were piled up into a mess.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" LaCienega cried out. "You can't pile them up like that! You'll wrinkle them!"
"Guess you should have done this yourself." Mac said smugly.
LaCienega groaned as she started to pick up the clothes. "Fine! But you're going to regret this."
"Too late." Mac said as he placed his suitcase on his bed and opened it up. As LaCienega worked to straighten her clothes, she noticed the bright green in Mac's suitcase. She took a better look to notice that it was a pair of green boxing gloves.
"You're still into boxing?" LaCienega sighed in annoyance.
"It's an awesome sport." Mac said. "And one day, I'm going to be the best boxer in the world."
"I don't know, Mac. Isn't there a height requirement for that?"
Mac glared at his cousin again. "You're still teasing my height? You're like half an inch taller than me."
"And don't you forget it." LaCienega picked up her clothes and left the room leaving Mac to growl.
"Ooh, I cannot stand her. I swear, if I didn't promise my mom not to fight girls, I'd knock that makeup off her face." Mac sighed and sat on his bed. "Just cool yourself, Mac. LaCienega is the only thing wrong with this stay. You've still got a friendly uncle, a nice aunt, a confused old man who lives with us, and a real character of a neighbor. Who knows? Maybe I'll grow to like it here after all."
Little did he know that this town was where he would become a real legend of the ring.
