A/N: Thank you for reading this one-shot that ended up being two chapters!

I highly suggest listening to the song Still by Daughter when reading this fic.

She was living her worst nightmare.

Everything gone.

Lost.

Taken.

"You have not lost me."

Letting go of her head, Ladybug looked up and saw her partner standing next to her. Curling back into herself, she buried her head back into her knees. She failed everyone how could he still stand there willing to fight.

"Why don't you just give up on me?" She yelled harshly at him. She didn't deserve his loyalty. She had not only failed the city but had lied to her partner over and over again. The feeling of panic began to set in again as her mind raced through everything that had transpired.

"I lost all of the miraculous…..I'm the worst guardian to ever exist." Her voice began to break as her tears fell harder over the mask. She jerked her head away from Chat trying to conceal what dignity she had left.

"I wanted to control everything. I didn't want to listen to you. I lied and pushed you away. Whenever you offered help, I refused and created the biggest rift between us."

Gathering her legs closed she hoped that she could completely disappear.

"My Lady," His voice was gentle and filled with concern."Please look at me."

Shakily breathing in she unburied herself. Piercing green eyes stared back at her, seizing what was left of the air in her lungs.

Chat reached out his hand, inviting her to take hold of the hopefulness that he held.

Something in her wounded heart began to flutter, feelings that she once forced down began to rise. Hesitantly she reached out and grasped his hand.

As the lightning flashed around them, Chat pulled her close to him. Wrapping her in arms of peace and safety. She buried her face into his shoulder and allow him to take some of the worries off her shoulders.

"We're going to retrieve each miraculous one by one, to the very last. And we will never let this happen again!" His breath tickled the back of her neck, sending shivers down her spine.

"You and me?"

Against the world.

"You, the best superheroine that ever existed," Releasing her Chat turned to face the glowing tower. Following his motions Ladybug turned with him, keeping her hands around him, scared that if she let go she would crumble. "Them, The people of Paris."

Looking out ladybug saw the streets swarmed with the citizen, each holding lanterns. Her heart was slowly being pieced back together. As they chanted her name, she could feel the string of the thread sew back the pieces.

"And me, Your faithful partner."

Blinking the uncontrollable tears away, Ladybug stared back at the cheering crowd. She silently promised each and everyone that she wouldn't fail them again.

"Thank you, Chatton." Ladybug rested her head on his shoulder as they stared at the sunset. Chat's hand gradually reached around her waist and pulled her closed to him.

"Anything for My lady" He whispered as he placed a tender kiss on her forehead.

She wasn't sure how long they stayed sitting in the lights of the Eiffel Tower. Neither of them was willing to break away from the comfort they both needed. Each scared to go home to the silence that they would both have at home. Ladybug could feel the tiredness settling into her bones. The coldness of the rain gradually began to creep through her suit.

Yawning, she snuggled close to the warmth radiating off of her partner. A light purr filled her ears. A faint smile formed on her lips.

"You're shivering." Chat began to stroke his hand across her arm trying to warm her back up.

"I'm fine," She mumbled into his chest, not wanting to leave. Not wanting to face the loneliness that awaited her.

"I know, but we should be getting home. Our parents are going to start to wonder where we are. I promise we will meet up tomorrow."

Breaking them apart Chat stood up, extending his hand to help her up. Taking his hand, Ladybug stood up and pulled him into a crushing hug.

Reluctantly she let go of him, not wanting the feeling of emptiness to come back.

"See you tomorrow, Chatton"

Grabbing the yo-yo from her waist, Ladybug started to aim her throw before letting her arm fall. Swiftly she turned around to face Chat, carefully she leaned in and placed an affectionate kiss on his cheek. Not waiting to observe his reaction, she spun around and throws the yo-yo and let it pull her away in the abysmal darkness.

Carefully swinging through the open hatch, Ladybug landed softly on her bed. The deep and desolate feelings started setting in. An ominous silence filled the air, that she had never known until now. She could feel her body start to shake with the overwhelming anxiety.

Gone

All of them, Gone.

Ploddingly she looked around for any visible signs that this was just another nightmare. All she could perceive was the stale air that surrounded her. There was no movement, no youthful voice, there was just nothing. The only sign of life was the cloudy moonlight that shined through the wide-open windows. The sound of drizzling rain tapped against the roof, its rhythm almost calmed the worries in her heart.

Reaching up she ran a finger over the red polka-dotted earrings.

How are we going to defeat him now?

We lost, because of me.

Anxious thoughts of doubt inevitably began to creep back in. Take a deep faint breath, she whispered for Tikki to de-transform her. The pink light filled the cheerless room as her last wall broke. Crumbling on her bed, Marinette began to cry vehemently. Not just for the loss of the battle, but for letting everyone down. Because of the risks she took today, the world was in more danger than ever. For the unknown fate that the Kwamis faced.

Pulling her knees close to her, she wrapped her arms around them and curled into a small ball. Her tears stung as they continued falling. The thread holding her heart together snapped as she thought about each of the Kwamis.

The minutes passed by slowly as every creak and whisper caused Marinette to jump up and look around. The noise of the outside world infiltrated her silent room. Everyone must have finally started to headed home after the gathering around the Eiffel Tower.

While she was in awe of the support, its effects had started wearing off now that she was alone.

Glancing warily around the room, she saw Tikki staring at the sewing box that once was home to her family.

"I'm sorry, Tikki," Marinette said gently as she walked over to her pink friend.

"I know you will get them back soon." Tikki hugged Marinette's cheek.

Looking mournfully at the sewing box, searing pain ripped through her heart yet again. Collapsing to the floor she let out an anguished scream. There were no tears left to cry, anymore. All that was left of her was a gaping hole in her soul.

Each emotion ran through her system in overwhelming waves. She was breaking apart at the seams unsure of how to mend it back together again.

The sole thing she knew was, that she couldn't be alone.

"I need to know who he is, Tikki."
