-so this is it, I'm starting :o there's nobody here yet to read it but nevermind I'll just start:))-
"STUPEFYYYYY!" - "OW JAMES LEAVE ME ALONE! I WANNA SLEEP YOU STUPID-"
"You might not want to end this sentence now, or do you want to end up not coming along with us?"
Harry had joined Albus' room for he had heard the screams of the brothers.
James had been prodding and yelling at his younger brother with his newly bought wand, and of course nothing had happened when he tried to hex Albus for he never had learned how to do magic before.
Though, Harry knew that if he'd let them continue to fight, it'd get out of control.
James just loved to upset Albus for he knew it was an easy game.
They were similar from the looks, but that was pretty much the only similar thing about them.
He was smirking at Albus now, who glared daggers at James.
"There's no need to sneer now, James, I know exactly it was you who started this again. And if YOU want to go to Hogwarts tomorrow at all, you should get to your room immediately and finish packing your stuff."
Still grinning, James ran out of the room and disappeared in his room.
"But Dad, I really want to come along to London tomorrow! I didn't do anything, James just-"
Harry sighed and replied: "I know Albus, I know. But your brother is pretty excited about going to Hogwarts, and he has to work it off somewhere, you know him. But tomorrow he'll be gone until Christmas. And I know for a fact that you'll be missing him soon enough, when you have no one to fight with."
"Oh no I won't!" Albus answered stubbornly "He always tries to annoy me in any way he can."
He pulled a face.
"Now, now, don't pretend you don't try to annoy him as well as much as possible?" Harry laughed.
"And now, get in your bed, it's late enough. Goodnight my little rascal."
--
In his room, James searched his last things together and threw them more or less properly in his trunk.
This day they had been in Diagon Alley to buy his school stuff for hogwarts.
The most exciting purchase had been his wand, with which he had been annoying his brother.
He just couldn't wait to learn how to do magic and everything.
The other things they had bought were already in his trunk, there were several books he was supposed to buy for his classes, his robes, the pewter cauldron for potions class, and all this stuff.
He threw a wistful look back to his broom that was standing in a corner of his room.
Oh how he'd love to take his Cleansweep Seven to Hogwarts and follow his father's footsteps by becoming the youngest chaser ever.
Unfortunately it was strictly forbidden to first-years, to take brooms with them to Hogwarts, and his parents somehow wouldn't agree to smuggling it into the castle.
He drawed his attention back to his wand and started to try some spells again.
"Lumos!"
He waved his wand wildly, and surprise!-nothing happened.
"Accio!...Expellimarmus!"
"Ahhh James you won't succeed by saying the incantation wrong."
Harry and Ginny had entered the room, catching his last attempt to do magic.
Ginny smiled lightly by the look of James' embarrassed face.
"Don't worry, you'll learn everything soon enough. But to do so you need enough sleep so I suggest you get into your bed now."
James scrunched his nose together, but he still threw himself onto his bed.
Ginny stepped aside him and covered him up.
She kneeled beside him and ruffled through his hair.
"Excited sweetheart?"
"Mum I'm not your sweetheart, I'm 11 years old!" James retorted indignantly.
"Oh yes, I keep forgetting how old you are by now, you're even able to remember to take your underwear with you.", Ginny mocked him.
James leapt up.
"Merlins pants I knew I had forgotten something!"
"We still can do this tomorrow, you stay in bed!", Harry interfered.
He didn't complain, but fell back onto his cushions.
"Right, but do remind me again, I can't forget my underwear."
"Obviously. It wouldn't be a problem though to just owl it, in case we really would forget it tomorrow. Now, goodnight and stay in bed.", Ginny said.
She kissed him on the forehead, what he weakly tried to prevent, and Harry bent forwards to ruffle his hair again.
"Love you mummy and daddy", he muttered sleepily
--
"Jamesie, wake uppp!", a small voice demanded.
"Uahhhh leave me aloneee.", James groaned.
"Mummy says you won't have time to pack your underpants for Hogwarts if you don't get up now!", his seven years old sister Lily pressed.
At the word Hogwarts, James woke up with one fell swoop.
Today was the day he had waited for so long, at least since he bade Teddy Lupin his goodbye when he got on the hogwarts express for the first time.
Now would be his final year at Hogwarts as it would be James' first.
"Jamesieeeee I don't want you to go!", the red-haired said with a sad look in her eyes.
"Ah, you'll see me soon enough for Christmas again.", James replied impatiently.
"Now get out so I can get ready and put on my clothes."
Lily turned and hopped out of the room.
She wasn't impressed by her brothers outwardly rudeness for she knew he usually did everything for her.
When she had closed the door (James had to yell at her to come back because she didn't close it at first), he took a leap of joy.
--
Fully dressed, he proudly appeared in the doorway of the kitchen.
The reaction he had hoped for did not fail to materialize.
"There he is our new Hogwarts student!", Harry greeted him, broadly smiling.
Ginny pulled him into a hug, and then offered him his favourite thing for breakfast.
He never could get enough of cheese and ham toast.
As he threw himself on a chair next to Albus, he asked: "Isn't Teddy already here? He does join us for breakfast doesn't he?"
"He should be here any moment, but Andromeda won't be joining us. She doesn't feel that good." Harry told him.
Ted had been staying the last week of the holidays with his Grandma, Andromeda Tonks, the rest he always stayed at Harry's.
"Oh I was so looking forward to the chocolate frogs!", Albus groaned.
"I will have them either way.", James explained brightly, "Dad told me the Food Trolley on the train always has got some."
Albus threw him a sour look, which he didn't notice because a question had popped up in his head.
"Do you think I will be able to have cheese and ham toasts? I'm not sure I could survive without them!"
But his answer wasn't answered.
At this moment, the door bell rang and James, Albus, and Lily raced each other to the door.
"TEDDYYY"
"FINALLY YOU'RE HERE"
"I HAVE TO SHOW YOU MY WAND, IT'S SO COOL!"
"Woah kiddos, slow down!", seventeen years old Ted laughed, who wore his hair in his favourite bright blue today.
After he had put his trunk and his owl Peanut next to the door, he picked Lily up and let himself be pulled into the kitchen.
Ginny pulled him into a warm hug as she welcomed him, and so did Harry.
"Kids, let Teddy breathe or he won't make it to Hogwarts alive. Come here, have a seat, I'm sure you're hungry!"
Harry threw James a warning look who most likely just wanted to pull Teddy upstairs to admire his new wand.
James pulled a face and sat back down to occupy himself with his toast.
Albus and Teddy sat down too, Teddy still with Lily on his lap.
"Pleasee do those funny faces! The one with the pigs nose!", Lily snickered.
"Oh, yes please do so!" Albus and James joined in.
As they pleaded, James saw his parents change saddened glances.
For a moment, he thought about the why of this, but didn't mind else, as Teddy started to concentrate.
In the next moment, the most beautiful and funny nose sat in his face.
The children burst into laughter, and Albus laughed so hard he almost fell off his chair.
Joyfully, they continued eating and watching Teddy doing funny faces inbetween chewing.
After half an hour or so, it was time to get ready, as they wanted to arrive in time for they wanted to meet Ron and Bill with their families.
With James, Bills and Fleurs second daughter Dominique was to be schooled, while Ron and Hermione just wanted to see them off and bide them goodbye.
Harry put James' and Teddys trunks into the family car, and after a little hectic, they were all stowed into the small car, and ready to go.
Actually it has to be said that the small car was normally a five seater with not much room in the luggage space, but thanks to a nicely performed Extension Charm from Teddy (who was now allowed to do magic outside of school, since he was 17) the six people and the two heavy trunks fitted in just fine.
