LJ and Zofia Schwartz were at their house one afternoon, telling their friends all about the adventures they'd recently had with the Simpson family.
"So, let's get this straight... Bart Simpson turned 11-years-old?" Dib asked.
"Well, obviously." Zofia replied.
"Sorry, it just sounds like a record breaker or something," Dib shrugged. "Maybe we can meet him and the other Simpsons some time."
"Only time will tell in the future, but it's probably Springfield's biggest adventure yet." LJ remarked.
"You guys and your adventures," Jenny commented, rolling her eyes and sounding slightly jealous. "I wish we could get out of this town and go on adventures too."
"Ah, don't be so jealous," LJ responded. "Bart's cool, but he's kind of a jerk too. And besides, your moments will come sooner or later. What about the Hyperforce adventures?"
"Well, all right, yeah... That was pretty cool." Jenny nodded about the Hyperforce adventures.
"You think Bart will ever come over here?" Nergal Junior wondered.
"Depends on if Zofia suggests it to him and Lisa or not," LJ replied. "Lisa's her pen pal after all."
"Probably further down the line, they have to go to school." Zofia suggested.
"And who knows? They'll probably have their own adventures back home to tell us about," said LJ. "But I digress."
"Sounds like a pretty good way to spend your summer at least," Dib remarked. "It at least sounds better than what kids in our old school would say they would do during their break in Miss Bitters' class before she told us to shut up for the rest of the school year."
"I wouldn't mind that," Gaz snorted and rolled her eyes. "Mr. Elliot treats us all like a bunch of babies in MY class."
"Just be glad you guys don't have Ms. Butterbean. I think that lady hates her job." Nergal Junior said to the Membrane siblings.
"It was a good way to spend the summer, but the season's not over yet," Zofia replied. "I heard that Mother is talking with a few old friends to work on a group family vacation, though no doubt about it that it'll turn into a brand new adventure."
"Yeah, so you guys could come along," suggested LJ. "...although, I wonder how Kimberly, Chrissy, and Lynn are doing?"
"Isn't Kimberly at that All Scout Jamboree or something?" Gaz asked.
"Yeah, she is," LJ nodded. "I just hope she remembers to stick around nice Honeybee Scouts like Bessie Higgenbottom and not Portia Gibbons."
"Portia Gibbons reminds me of those Flower Scouts," Gaz rolled her eyes. "I do not like them."
"Well, until you hear from Kimberly again, maybe you could call Chrissy and Lynn?" Dib suggested.
"Never hurts," Martin added. "Though it might be hard to hear Lynn on the phone since she has that big family of hers and all."
"I'll try." LJ nodded as he got his phone and dialed in Chrissy's number.
The others nodded as they soon continued to hang out and do their own thing for the time being as LJ called Chrissy.
Meanwhile, at the Dazzlings' place, the phone began to ring.
"Could someone get that?!" Adagio called out.
"Chrissy, get the phone!" Aria demanded as she was watching TV.
"Aunt Sonata, get the phone!" Chrissy replied as she stared out the window.
"Oh, yeah!" Sonata giggled as she began to make tacos. "The phone!"
"Chrissy, get the phone!" Aria then repeated herself.
"Aunt Sonata, get the phone!" Chrissy added.
"Oh, for goodness sake..." Adagio rolled her eyes as she decided to get the phone that time. "Dazzle residence, this is Adagio speaking. Keep it brief if you know what's good for you." she then answered rather aggressively.
"Hi, Ms. Adagio; it's LJ," LJ responded. "Is Chrissy home?"
"Oh, hello there, LJ," Adagio smirked innocently. "It's been a while."
Chrissy soon walked over away from the window as she hoped to get the phone.
"Yes, she is home," Adagio then continued. "How is your family?"
"We're doing fine, thanks," LJ responded. "I was wondering if Chrissy wanted to come over and hang out."
"Well, I suppose she could do that for a little while..." Adagio smirked. "Is this a brand new adventure or just a regular hang-out day?"
"Regular hangout day so far, could turn into a new adventure," LJ replied. "Nothing's confirmed yet, but I'll keep a lookout."
"All right then." Adagio smirked.
"Aunt Adagio, please let me have the phone," Chrissy complained. "LJ called to talk to me~"
"Well, all right. Here's Chrissy for you, LJ," Adagio chuckled before she lowered the phone down to the girl. "Here you go, my little songbird~"
"Thank you~" Chrissy nodded as she took the phone as Adagio walked away. "Hey, LJ, sorry about that."
"Ah, it's not a problem," LJ responded. "You wanna come over and hang? It might turn into an adventure!"
"Can I go over to the Schwartz house?" Chrissy asked her guardians.
Aria, Adagio, and Sonata all paused thoughtfully to that question.
"Please?" Chrissy then asked them with a grin and batted her eyelashes a little.
"Well... I can't say no to that cute little face." Adagio smiled.
"You know I definitely can't!" Sonata agreed.
"Dammit... It even melts my darker and colder heart when she does that." Aria growled slightly.
"Well, that's three yeses," Chrissy soon told LJ. "I'll be right over."
"Awesomeness!" LJ declared. "See you there!"
"You got it!" Chrissy replied before quickly hanging up as she came to hug and tell her guardians goodbye for now.
"That girl really is goin' places." Adagio remarked, sounding proud.
"Yep." Aria agreed.
"Of course she's going places," Sonata spoke up. "She's going to the Schwartz house like she always does."
"Argh..." Aria groaned and rolled her eyes.
"Sonata, do you ever think before you speak?" Adagio asked dryly.
"Not so much, no." Sonata shrugged and giggled blissfully before she bit into one of her tacos.
"I try so hard not to kill her in her sleep." Adagio grumbled firmly.
"At least you have more restraint than me." Aria retorted darkly.
"All right. One down, one to go." LJ soon said before he hung up the door phone and began to call the Loud house.
"You think we'll get a vacation?" Dib asked Gaz.
"It would be nice for a change." Gaz snorted and smirked.
LJ finished dialing in the number, and then waited a little bit before the phone picked up. At the Loud house, the usual chaos was going on: Lori was on the phone with her boyfriend Bobby, Leni was trying to decide whether to wear a pink or blue dress for the day, Luna was tuning her guitar, Luan was practicing knock-knock jokes with Mr. Coconuts, Lynn was currently racing Lincoln to the bathroom while trying to dodge Lucy as he was reciting a dark and dreary poem, Lana was rolling around in the mud with her pet frog she called Hopps (no relation to Judy Hopps of course), Lola was practicing her wave for an upcoming beauty pageant, Lisa was mixing chemicals together, and Lily, being the baby of the group was sitting back and watching it all unfold before her eyes.
"See, Linc, the key to parkour is momentum," Lynn smirked at her brother. "Never stop moving." she then leapt onto and sprung off the bathroom door. "Door jump!" she called out before flipping back.
"Door jump!" Lincoln called out as he drop-kicked open the door before falling in. "Whoa!"
Lynn rushed to the bathroom door and suddenly it closed on her before she could get in. "Dang it," she then complained before the home phone started to ring. "I'm so mad that my ears are ringing."
"That's the phone." Lola and Lana told her.
"Oh..." Lynn blinked before she decided to answer the phone. "Okay, okay. I got it. I got it. Loud residence? The most awesome and strongest family member speaking." she then answered with a smirk.
"Lynn? It's LJ," LJ responded. "Just wondering if you wanted to come over. Quiet so far, but might turn into an adventure."
"Come over, huh?" Lynn asked as she looked at the chaos that her siblings caused throughout the house as usual. "Yeah, I think I could squeeze in a quick visit, especially before our next family trip." she then nodded.
"Cool, didja decide on a destination?" LJ asked.
"We're supposed to find out tonight at dinner, but I have a sinking feeling of where we'll be going," Lynn groaned and rolled her eyes. "Aunt Ruth's."
Suddenly, Lynn's siblings overheard "Aunt Ruth" and began to freak out and panic.
"Calm down! I was just sayin'!" Lynn told them before she came back on the phone. "Let's just say Aunt Ruth isn't very popular."
"I'll take your word for it," LJ said. "Glad to have you over."
"I'll be there as soon as I can." Lynn nodded.
"Sounds good." LJ smiled before the two then hung up together.
"At least Lynn seems calm whenever you're involved," Zofia commented to her brother. "I feel unsure about her sometimes, especially whenever she calls her brother 'Stinkin' instead of his actual name."
"Yeah, that IS kind of obnoxious," LJ had to admit. "I'm trying to get her to not call her brother such a derisive name."
"Good luck with that." Zofia nodded before she turned on the TV and went to record one of her favorite shows before they would head out of the house for the day.
Eventually, everyone waited in the living room, watching TV to pass the time until the doorbell rang.
"Chrissy. Lynn. Welcome back," Cherry greeted her children's friends. "You came here together?"
"Ran into each other on the way here," Lynn replied. "We were also promised somethin' big goin' on."
"So could we come in?" Chrissy added.
"Yes, of course," Cherry told them. "I'm just busy in my home office, so if you kids need anything, you might wanna try Mr. Schwartz before you try me." she then suggested.
"Thanks." Chrissy smiled as the both of them came indoors.
Cherry nodded as she soon went into the living room as the kids watched TV until Lynn and Chrissy would arrive. "Your friends are here, dear." she then told LJ.
"Thanks, Mom," LJ nodded. "You can go back to your office now."
"Vey well," Cherry replied. "Just remember that we'll be visiting the Pickles' residence very soon for a vacation, but knowing my life, it'll turn into a brand new adventure." she then reminded.
LJ gave a nod and a thumbs-up as his mother left before he went to regroup with his friends. "Hey, guys!" he exclaimed. "Nice to have you here!"
"Sup?" Lynn smirked and crossed her arms.
"How's your summer been?" Chrissy added.
"Same old. Same old. Just not the same without Kimberly since she's at that scout jamboree out of town." LJ replied.
"Yeah... She's pretty good company," Chrissy admitted. "I've missed her too."
"Even if she's a bit soft and mushy like my sisters Leni and Lola," Lynn commented. "They could really use a bit more adventure in their lives like whenever I play one of my games and try to block out Scoots calling me 'Emu Legs'."
"What is a 'Scoots'?" LJ inquired.
"Ah, I never told you about Scoots?" Lynn replied.
LJ shook his head in response.
"She's just a local old lady around my neighborhood," Lynn explained. "You've probably seen her, but she usually rides around in a scooter. She lives at the senior center with my Pop-Pop and his girlfriend, Myrtle."
"Sounds like a sour old buzzard." LJ commented.
"She really can be... She's the worst at my games." Lynn rolled her eyes.
Soon, Lynn and Chrissy came inside as Zofia was focused on the TV.
"Aren't you too old for fairy tales?" Lynn asked Zofia, seeing what was on the TV.
"Gretel the Witch Slayer is not a fairy tale; it is a fantastical adventure series about a girl who finds out about her unique destiny as she solves mysteries with her brother and friends while also going to school," Zofia retorted. "Plus the only other thing on TV right now is Nigel Thornberry's nature show and I'm more in an adventurous mood than to be educated about animals." she then added.
"That's a pretty solid point." Chrissy admitted as they sat down.
Zofia nodded as she began to finish up her show.
"It's like Lucy and that vampire show," Lynn remarked. "Though I guess at least this isn't as dark and gloomy."
The show played out normally as almost like a teen drama with hints of comedy and the supernatural and soon, a school dance was about to happen between mothers and sons or fathers and daughters, but due to the storyline, Hansel and Gretel were siblings on their own until something happened that changed everything. A pair of adults suddenly came into the school gym, startling the siblings as their friends and classmates continued to dance or mingle in the background.
"Mom...?" Hansel muttered.
"Dad...?" Gretel added.
"End of Part 2?!" Zofia complained as the show ended right there as she looked at the others in mass hysteria. "End of Part 2?! It can't end right there! NOOOO!"
"Are their parents dead or something?" Chrissy asked.
"They were supposed to be!" Zofia nodded. "This is gonna drive me crazy all summer until the next season if it gets renewed!"
"Well, at least you have a reason to stick around and keep supporting the show until the next season rolls around," LJ commented. "Just like how I feel with Beast Wars."
"Yeah, that's true," Zofia shrugged and crossed her arms as she sank into her seat. "Plus it helps keep me busy since Amphibia recently ended."
"It'll be all right. My family and I get the same way when The Dream Boat hits a season finale," Lynn commented. "Not even I can resist that show, I've seen some pretty good guys on that before I met your brother."
"The Dream Boat... Such a magical adventure..." Chrissy smiled dreamily.
Gaz and Jenny both shared a deadpan glance with each other before rolling their eyes as they did not like The Dream Boat.
"So should we explore now that the show is over or something?" Jenny suggested. "Unless we're gonna just hang out here until you guys go on vacation."
"I guess we could explore," shrugged Martin. "Whatever passes the time until the main plot gets underway."
"All right. Exploring it is," Zofia nodded as she turned off the TV. "Let's head out."
"Mom! Dad! We're heading out for a little while!" LJ soon shouted.
"Okay, don't go out too late so we can make our plans for the evening!" Cherry called back from her home office.
"Sure thing!" LJ nodded as he and the others got ready to head out.
The group then headed out the door to begin exploring together, singing a song along the way.
"Following the leader, the leader, the leader, We're following the leader, Wherever he may go~" The kids sang together on the way. "Tee dum, tee dee, a teedle ee do tee day, Tee dum, tee dee, it's part of the game we play, Tee dum, tee dee, the words are easy to say, Just a teedle ee dum, a teedle ee do tee day, Tee dum, tee dee, a teedle ee do tee dum, We're one for all, and all of us out for fun, We march in line and follow the other one, With a teedle ee do, a teedle ee do tee dum~"
"We're going on vacation soon... Maybe I won't cook dinner tonight," Cherry said once she and Lionel had the house to themselves for right now. "We'll just get food from a place like Galaxy Burger or something... I hear that they're trying to send out Scratch & Sniff cards for a contest for the kiddies nowadays."
"Scratch & Sniff? Sounds interesting," replied Lionel. "How exactly does it work?"
"Oh, you don't know about Scratch & Sniff cards? It's pretty simple, like when I was a kid and some movies would have those cards for you to take to the movies," Cherry replied before she explained. "Basically, you have a card and you scratch the picture on the card and it's supposed to smell like what it is. For instance, if the picture is a pile of fish, it's supposed to smell like a literal pile of fish, though... I had one like that when I was a kid and it ended up smelling like a pile of magazines. Back on Cartoon Network in April of 1999, they had a promotion called Smelly Telly, and to play, viewers would rub a number on special rub-and-sniff cards in accordance with the number that appeared on-screen during the show."
"Oh, that is neat!" Lionel exclaimed.
"But yeah, that's the basics of Scratch & Sniff for ya," Cherry nodded at him. "They don't do it as much as they used to."
"I see," Lionel nodded.
Meanwhile, we rejoin the kids as they're out exploring. Soon, the kids came to a stop as they heard yelling and shouting from behind a fence they passed by. The group looked at each other before they poked out from the fence to see what was going on. The baby group of Tommy, Kimi, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil appeared to be playing some sort of game together in the sandbox and Tommy appeared to be wearing a fake mustache as Spike was playing along with the babies while Grandpa Lou was fast asleep with the TV on while outside.
"Aww... Playing in the sandbox..." Lynn sighed as she watched them. "Good times. Good times."
"Yeah... total nostalgia trip." Martin agreed.
"So should we go see them or whatever?" Jenny suggested.
"Unless we'll be interrupting their playtime." Gaz added.
"Ugh. Seriously?" Lynn rolled her eyes. "You guys wanna play with a bunch of babies?"
"Come on, Lynn. Don't be like that." Zofia said to the athletic Loud sister.
"Besides, last I checked, you have a baby sister," LJ replied. "And I have a baby brother!"
"Doesn't mean we always gotta play with 'em, right?" Lynn shrugged. "That's not a lot of fun."
"Well, you don't have to come along, but we could always check on them," Chrissy suggested before looking at LJ and Zofia. "...Speaking of which, where IS your baby brother? It seems like he randomly disappears sometimes."
"Aw, come on, Chrissy. We all have our adventures, especially in our own family, but it's not like Davey has his own adventures away from us or something." Zofia replied.
"I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss such an idea," LJ responded. "Besides, would it really be so unimaginable?"
Lynn looked slightly deadpan. David seemed to just suddenly appear in Zofia's arms.
"David... Where'd you come from?" Zofia asked suspiciously.
David babbled in response before he put his hand in his mouth.
"...Let's go see your other baby friends." Zofia suggested.
Soon, Lynn watched the others go to the Pickles' backyard before she sighed and decided to join them. "Might as well do something useful too." she then muttered to herself a little.
