Like Rook Island Horrors I wanna remaster this story.. I know nobody would really read it the second time, but oh well..
I didn't actually play the game at the time, just did YouTube walkthroughs.. But I actually have the game this time. So that should help.. I decided to have Carly married to Miguel not Johnny, well Balor did, but I do decide on why not.. Just friends with Klebitz.
January 12th 2026:
Set in the distant future, this is the story of Pinkie finally learning the truth of her real mother, Kim Lancer, a FIB agent who was sent to Kyrat to eliminate tyrant leader Pagan Min. But instead has an affair with him to escape her abusive husband. Willis Huntley betrays her by outing the relationship, and later accidentally killing her in his attempt to arrest her. Based on Carly's actions to Willis in Rook Island, this story is more of a prequel to that one. As where it's the other way around in the real games.
While Ajay Ghaul goes to Kyrat to spread his mother's ashes per her last request. Pinkie does not have that same mission. In fact her only reason for going is simply because she wanted to see what it was like, the place she was technically born. However Carly, rather stubbornly, constantly insists on coming, saying Pinkie wouldn't even escape the plane without Carly's "eye for direction".
"You need to stay safe." Carly responded, the 28 year old pulling her hair back into a ponytail and Pinkie seeing her Morganite princess cut engagement ring.
"Fine, but just promise no angry husband calls." Pinkie giggled, her red hair left down.
"Miguel does have a protective side." Carly responded, having left Sachi behind with him and Seras.. It's the same story, just a different husband. And Seras and Trevor have less reasons to be suspicious, being neither of them like bikers.
"I bet."
After a long overnight plane ride they arrive in Kyrat - Nepal. Nepal is a country in the Himalayas bordering China and India. And Kyrat is a beautiful place full of jungle, mountains and yearly sun. But unfortantely and unbeknownst to the girls it's also in the midst of a civil war between the Royal Army, and rebel army The Golden Path. One could easily see the difference where the golden path wears yellow while the other side, led by Pegan Min and Yuma, wears red.
"There it is. You ever been here?" Carly asked. Looking out the airport, a large window to the far mountains.
"No, have you?" Pinkie asked.
"No," Carly replied, taking a photo and sending it to various people.
Once exiting the airport. The girls meet a man named Darpan, who's the closest they have to a tour guide. He befriends the girls and the three converse a bit with him during the bus ride which is also carrying various other passengers and some monkeys. Darpen is given their passports and puts some money in Pinkie's, telling them to stay calm as they reach an army checkpoint. Sure enough the bus stops and the driver steps out.
Carly stands up to look out the window and sees soldiers examining the bus with metal detectors.
What's happening?" Carly asked nervously,
"Shh, stay calm" Darpan says and has Pinkie duck down but seems to have forgotten Carly.
The driver engages in conversation in the Nepal language. The bus driver was talking to the soldiers, but the leader rudely threw down the drivers ID, showing things were not going very well.
While this happened, Golden Path soldiers revealed to have sneaked on the bus, and ran out the back of the bus. The Royal army fired at them, till suddenly the driver pulled out a Combat Pistol, shooting the Royal Army Sgt in the soldier, but before the driver could do more, the other members gunned him down. "Shit.." Carly said to herself.
The Sgt, believing there to be more Golden Path inside points at the bus and yells a order, which is followed by gunfight right on the bus, Carly jumps down just in time as the bus turns into a bullet sponge, the monkey's and most other passengers are all killed before the royal army burst open the doors and shove the three out. The three are dragged violently on the bus, and a soldier tells them to get onto their knees, revealing the soldiers can speak english. Carly knows any further acts of violence are a bad idea and surrounders the handgun she arrived with.
A soldier yells orders while shoving them all down, finally saying in English "Down on the ground now!"
"Please, we're tourists." Pinkie pleaded.
"Shut up!" the Sgt yelled before everyone turns to see a helicopter parking near them and out comes a now older but otherwise the same Megan Min, who rubs his hands on his face in annoyance before approaching over. Pegan is shown in a pink shirt and pants, of all colors. He's quite known for his flamboyant style, but he isn't gay.. Or at least he's bisexual. In fact the only thing Pinkie inherited from him is being possibly bisexual.. Implied by how she might have deeper feelings for Carly than she admits too.
" I distinctly remember saying, "Stop the bus." Yes, "Stop the bus." Not, "Shoot the bus." I'm very particular with my words. Stop. Shoot. Stop! Shoot. Do those words sound, the same?" Pegan Min said, sounding disturbingly calm, considering how angry he is.
Sgt: (Looking away, visibly scared) But it got out of control.
Pagan Min: (Places his hand on the soldier's injured shoulder.) I'm sorry, I didn't hear you.
Sgt: (slightly louder) It got out of control.
"Ahh.. It got out of control.. (pulls out a pen).. I hate when things get out of control" Pegan said.
Pegan swings the pen into the Sgt's front neck, and throws the guy onto the ground while doing so. Even some of the other soldiers visibly step back in fear.
"You had one! fucking! job! and! you! couldn't! fucking! DO THAT!" Pegan shouted, angrily swinging the pen into the same spot at each word. And than almost immediately after he returns to his calm affable nature, annoyedly saying "Now I got blood on my fucking shoes"
Pagan, then notices Pinkie. "Least there's a silver lining, he didn't completely fuck things up.. I recognize those blue eyes anywhere." Pegan said pulling Pinkie up and taking a selfie with her. Her face a comedic mixture of "I am absolutely terrified for my life right now" and "right now, I have no idea what on earth is going on".
"And you are?" Pagan asked once noticing Carly.
"C -Carly" Carly said, pulling herself up, one of the soldiers keeping her pistol. She likely doesn't get that particular piece back.
"Ahh.. You must be her plus two." Pagan chuckled.
"Now ladies, terribly sorry about this. This was supposed to be... well, not this.. In fact we have a party waiting for you two.. (sees Deadpan on floor, scared).. But I don't think I know your name. (no response).. Strong silent type. I like it" Pagan says.
"Again I am terribly sorry about all this. This was supposed to be very simple, but you know if you give food to monkeys, they just throw their shit at each other.. But don't worry about a thing dearie.. This will soon be behind us and we'll be off on our grand adventure.. [walks to his helicopter].. Because I have cleared my calendar for you!.. You, and I, are gonna TEAR SHIT UP!"
Before the girls reply, everything goes black, as they both have bags thrown over their heads. Just as a precaution. Cause again Pegan is the leader of Kyrat.
It's hard to say if Pegan is truly the villain or not, least for the protagonists.. On a general level yes he's a terrible tyrant who rules with cruel power.. But on a personal one he never intended any harm to befall the girls just wanted them to visit.. But a series of circumstances, and Carly's own fear of him, lead to them joining the golden path instead of him..
