Grandview
House Grandison of Grandview was a noble house from Grandview in the Stormlands and their ancestral castle was called Grandview. The coat of arms for their house was a black sleeping lion on a yellow field. Their words were "Rouse Me Not". A Lord Grandison had once fought for House Targaryen during the battles at Summerhall. He became a loyal ally and friend to Robert Baratheon after the defeat, but later perished of wounds sustained at the Battle of the Trident. The current Lord, Lord Hugh Grandison, had become the new lord of Grandison this way. Called the Greybeard for his old age and his once salt and pepper beard, which had by now gone white as snow. Hugh had once been considered as a suitor for Arianne Martell, when Doran was scheming to keep people from asking questions.
Hugh had never liked Robert Baratheon much. Hugh was always preferable to the Targaryen's despite the insanity of the Mad King. They had ruled Westeros well enough in his time, despite the troubles brought on by the Blackfyre's and Mad King.
House Grandison had done its best to stay out of the War of Five Kings. Though they did send a member of the family to serve as a bodyguard for Stannis's wife and had to send several hundred troops to support Stannis, they had kept back enough men to defend their lands from the bandits, leaving them in a stronger position than some other houses.
Following the death of Renly, Stannis's defeat at Blackwater Bay and subsequent abandonment of the Stormlands, they had been left leaderless and without oversight. With many of this generation's fighting men dead, bandits had free run of the land. In an effort to protect their small folk and consolidate their position, several houses banded together, led by House Grandison, joined by Houses Fell, Cafferen and a resurgent House Connington. House Connington was another House that had little to do with the War of Five Kings. Robert Baratheon had stripped the House of much of their original lands after his victory in the rebellion, due to Jon Connington being one of his enemies and close friend and confidant of Rhaeghar Targaryen, whom Robert hated with all his guts. As such, they did not send very many troops to Renly or Stannis, given they had very few to begin with. They were not happy with their lands had been stolen from them. Following the defeat of Stannis at the Blackwater and his abandonment of the Stormlands for the North, the houses that had been given the Connington Lands had fallen, allowing House Connington to take back 3/5 of the lands they lost at the end of Robert's Rebellion.
The efforts of the coalition had been somewhat successful, but there was only so much that could be done with most of the other noble houses being so weakened from the War of the 5 Kings. What they needed was peace and order restored to Westeros. More importantly, they needed royal support to help them restore order, and therefore prosperity, to their lands. While they needed it badly, the chaos from the ongoing war made them hold off on it. Despite the Lannisters declaring the War of the 5 Kings over with the death of Robb Stark and devastation for the Northern Army, the war was not truly over. It just stalled out and took a break, picking right back up with the Starks retaking the North and the Faith Militant rising in Kings Landing. Now they learned that Jon Snow was in fact the Trueborn son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaeghar Targaryen, and started a campaign to retake the 7 kingdoms in the name of his family. He had been swift, crushing the Freys at the Twins, then the Lannisters at Riverrun, and quickly moving into the West, taking the Lannister Stronghold of Casterly Rock and installing House Reyne as the new Lords of the West. While all this was quite shocking, the 4 dragons were even more surprising. And with Cersei blowing up a good portion of the capital, the small alliance knew who they needed to support. Which was why when the Dornish came into the Stormlands to negotiate with the Dragonlord, Hugh Grandison sent letters to both parties, offering to host the negotiations at his castle. Both had sent messages back, agreeing to meet at Grandview. The Dornish Army and a portion of the Targaryen Army were each camped 2 miles from the castle, the Dornish outnumbering the Targaryen's 15,000 strong army about 3 to 1.
As the morning sun rose over the horizon, the Dornish delegation consisting of the Princess herself, her 2 cousins and several guards approached the castle. The Targaryen Delegation was waiting, but then a roar was heard from the sky and out of clouds burst a massive dragon. The dragon landed with the Targaryen delegation and an armored figure could be seen jumping off, before helping the two Dornish Ladies riding with him off. Hugh realized the two ladies were Oberyn's former lover Ellaria and his daughter Tyene. If they were with the Dragon King, did that mean the negotiations were already a foregone conclusion? Had the Dragon Lord fallen to the wiles of Dorne like his ancestor Daeron the 2nd had?
'Only one way to find out.' Hugh thought to himself as Naruto walked with his Kingsguard and several knights and the Dornish women to the castle.
A few minutes later
Naruto met with the Dornish Princess inside one of the rooms inside Grandview. The room itself was nothing special. It appeared to be a room fit for gatherings of some kind. 2 windows lined one side of the room. Various pictures lined the north and south walls, being portraits of previous Lords of Grandison. To the east wall was a fireplace, the crackling wood on the fire providing warmth in the room. In the middle of the room were two seats, each large enough to fit multiple on it side by side comfortably with a table in the middle.
Naruto eyed the Princess and she did the same to him. They had decided to have their first meeting in private, at Arianne's behest. Largely because while she cared for her cousins, this was a negotiation between a Princess and a King. Arianne also did not want them interjecting if they found offense with Naruto's demands of her, and she wasn't about to turn away the man she was trying to ally with just because she couldn't keep her cousin's in check.
Arianne took a few moments to examine the king. Spiky hair, kept short and so white that it appeared more snow white than silver. His eyes a vibrant shade of royal purple, more vibrant than the most expensive amethyst Arianne had ever laid eyes on. His clean-shaven face was the most handsome she had ever laid eyes on, even Darkstar, her former lover, looked ugly in comparison. She eyed his body up and down, dressed in a black leather doublet with the Targaryen sigil emblazoned on it. She could tell the clothes were straining against his muscular form and she was curious if he was indeed as muscular as his clothes indicated he was.
In her youth, Arianne had not been very pretty to look at. In fact, quite the opposite. A bit on the pudgy side and flat-chested, as many young girls were, she had especially despised the way she looked. A follower of the Faith of the Seven, she prayed to them every night that she would grow up to be beautiful, knowing that as a woman, it would be her looks that would carry her through most of her life. No matter how smart she may be, no man would listen to an ugly girl.
Fortunately, Arianne was 27 years old, buxom and beautiful with olive skin, large dark eyes and long, thick black hair that fell in ringlets to the middle of her back. While some Dornish took issue with his heritage, since Rhaeghar had a child with someone who wasn't Elia Martell, Arianne didn't take any offense to it. Being offended about it wouldn't stop him from burning them to death with his massive dragons.
And besides, it didn't change the facts. With not only his massive dragon he flew in on, but the other three dragons he had backing him up, and at least 4 Kingdoms under his thrall, the Dragon King was here to stay. Dorne had staved off the dragons before, but fighting and resisting was so troublesome. Why fight and cost many men their lives when it was easier and less bloody to handle this with diplomacy? Her ancestors were too proud and stubborn to even consider that. Who cares that Nymeria had been a Rhoynish Princess and their people had been enemies of the Valyrian's? What did that matter to her? The Rhoynish blood had long been diluted and mixed with Valyrian blood due to her house marrying into the Targaryen family more than a century ago.
While she was intelligent and always desired to rule Dorne for herself, she was always willing to capitulate to the right man, and follow in his lead. A man who could conquer her heart, mind, and body, as well as dominate her between the sheets. She had long desired to find such a man that she could love and lust after in equal measure, as well as one who would fulfill all of her fantasies. She sadly had yet to find such a man. Perhaps this Targaryen would be one. If even half of the rumors about him were true…
Naruto, meanwhile, was running through various scenarios in his head of what Arianne might try to get him to agree to her demands and give her what she wants. He knew she would fail because he knew that her weakness was handsome, dangerous men, and who was more dangerous to her than him, the man who had already knocked up her cousin and uncles former lover, and already gotten them to tell him all of Arianne's little secrets? "Are we going to have our negotiations, or are you going to sit there and keep daydreaming, Princess?" Naruto asked, when he noticed she was biting her lip, barely concealing her lust from him.
"I spoke with my cousin and Ellaria. They tell me you are more than willing to accept the economic and military aid Dorne offers, but you wanted to smooth some details out with me in person before we finalize our alliance." Arianne stated, not even bothering to deny that she had been fantasizing about him just now.
"Indeed," Naruto said as he lounged back, "Let's discuss the Lannisters first and get them out of the way. I know from my talks with Ellaria and your cousin that you wanted them all dead, but I cannot allow that. A few of the women are being kept around to marry into the Reyne family to help ease the transition from Lannister rule to Reyne rule in the Westerlands. They are off limits. We did capture several other members of the house when we took Casterly Rock, so you can do with them as you please."
'Hmm, so he's not going to budge on the few women being kept alive, but he's willing to let the others all die. I can live with this. There's no point in making a big fuss about this point when there are more important points to discuss.' Arianne thought to herself while she put on a sultry smile and replied back. "I see no reason why I can't live with that. So long as the Lannister family fades into nothingness, I can live with a few of them surviving a generation as Reynes."
"Good." Naruto said as he took a sip of wine.
"I'm told you are also fine with marrying me and making me Queen." Arianne posed, getting to the 2nd most important topic.
"Well, not the Queen, but a Queen. You would be one of several Queens that shall rule with me." Naruto pointed out, as Val, Sansa, Margaery, and Daenerys (assuming she agrees) would rule with him.
"You mean you are planning to marry others?" Arianne wondered, a little disappointed she wouldn't be THE Queen like her aunt was.
"I'm a Targaryen, beautiful. If the Faith, assuming they are still around after the latest set of tragedies burdening their religion, has a problem with it, I'll give them some one-on-one time with my dragons." Naruto deadpanned.
Arianne supposed he had a point. Having to share a man with other women didn't bother her on a personal level, in the end. She was fine with having sex with either gender. It would make their nighttime rumbles more interesting, especially if he could keep up with her. It would make the succession a bit of an issue, though. Not exactly ideal for a Targaryen Dynasty, given how the succession crisis between Rhaenyra Targaryen and Aegon the 2nd went.
"How do you plan to deal with the succession, then? Surely you can see that there will be some issue with having multiple wives producing multiple heirs? Let us not forget what happened to your family during the Dance of Dragons, and then Aenys and Maegor before that." Arianne mentioned.
"By choosing the one who is most worthy of following in my footsteps. That was problem with Aenys and Maegor. Aenys was a weak and pathetic fool, unfit to be a king, whilst Maegor at least had the strength of will to rule and lead. In fact, the only reason House Targaryen still survived to this day, is because Maegor was strong enough to take the throne and crush the Faith Militant. Where as if Aenys had stayed in control, the fledging dynasty would have ended with him. As for Rhaenyra and Aegon the 2nd, if Viserys had any common sense, he would have just married the 2 together and that would have solved a lot of the problems that led up to the Dance. Anyway, all of my children will be taught how to rule, but I will not make my firstborn my heir and successor, not unless he proves capable." Naruto said, as really, that was the best way to handle it. Only the most capable, only the most able ruler, should follow after him once he decides to end things and finally rest. He also knew he was talking shit about his son, Aenys, but it was the truth. Aenys had never been fit for leadership, always requiring the admiration and adoration of others and was a people-pleaser, always too afraid to insult other people and incredibly indecisive. The only reason he had allowed Aenys to remain his heir was because his grief over Rhaenys death.
Arianne supposed there was not really a better way to handle it. It would hopefully also ensure that they stop having bad rulers on the throne. Hopefully, that would mean there would not be as much of a problem with the succession of Naruto. "Your terms are acceptable thus far. We must discuss the renewal of Dornish Rights as well before we conclude our meeting." Arianne mentioned.
"Yes, about that, there isn't anything worth discussing." Naruto mentioned callously as he took another sip of wine.
"What do you mean?" Arianne asked, already dreading what he meant.
"Tax rates that are half that of the other kingdoms, royal titles, the autonomy to maintain a set of laws that differs from the other kingdoms, the right to assess and gather the taxes due to the Iron Throne with only irregular oversight from the Red Keep. Many of these things are unacceptable to me and must change once I take over." Naruto listed off.
Arianne's hot temper flared to life for a moment before she forced herself to calm down. After all, he didn't say all of them were unacceptable. She should at least hear him out before deciding if these negotiations will bear any fruit in the end. "Which ones are unacceptable?"
"The tax rates, for one thing. Your tax rates are half that of the other kingdoms, and yet, you are the 3rd richest kingdom, although, I guess you would be the 2nd richest since the Lannister's were broke when we conquered them. If you're serious about providing economic aid to the Seven Kingdoms, your taxes must be raised for a number of years to help the Crown, considering the millions of debt it's in from previous rulers and the damages I will inherit when I pry from Cersei Lannister's hands. Your laws are too different from the other kingdoms. That will also change. The Crown will also be doing more oversight to ensure Dorne complies with it's new laws. The Royal title as well, will need to be removed and House Martell will become Lords Paramount. Either that, or several of your more powerful bannermen will be elevated to Princely Status themselves." Naruto listed off. He could care less about the female primogeniture. That wasn't important. The rest of it needed to change.
"Then we will simply leave. I'm afraid these are terms that House Martell cannot accept." Arianne Martell said as she rose to her feet, knowing those were terms she couldn't accept.
"If you leave, the safety of your lords and your army is forfeit." Naruto mentioned, making Arianne go still. "I promised safe conduct for you and your delegation. I never said anything about the rest of your army."
"So, SIT. BACK. DOWN. Unless you want me to go and have Acnologia slaughter them right now." Naruto said forcefully.
Arianne took a moment to look at him, seeing his deadly serious gaze. She could see the darkness in his eyes that promised the violence and slaughter he just mentioned if she didn't comply. So, she slowly returned to her seat, the light atmosphere from earlier gone and a serious one taking it's place. Not giving a hint at how hot and bothered she was, despite the danger she was now in.
"Let me explain something here. You came to me seeking an alliance. I did not come to you. You may already be aware, but I have the Vale, The North, The West, and Riverlands under my control. What you may not know is I have the Reach under my control now as well. When Cersei blew up the Sept of Baelor, I was able to save Margaery Tyrell and her brothers, and fixed Willas's leg that your uncle ruined, and now House Tyrell is indebted to me more than ever. So, you see, I don't need Dorne technically. I want them to join my growing kingdom willingly, but it's not necessary to have them right away."
"You, on the other hand, are not in the same position that I am. Your House is the weakest it has ever been, the death of so much of the main family leaving only one legitimate daughter and three woman born out of wedlock left. And you yourself are untested in the eyes of your lords. For a long time, you were the daughter that was never given any responsibility or real authority, and now you've been given the reins of Dorne. Your vassals are watching you very closely, wondering whether you will succeed or fail." Naruto pointed as he stood up and started to walk forward.
"And then, there's your father's blunders to consider." Naruto mentioned as he filled two glasses of Dornish wine from the pitcher that was in the room.
"What…blunder's do you speak of?" Arianne asked as she took the glass of wine when he held it out for her, hiding the fact that she was getting wet from how he took complete control of the situation, putting her in her place, and how he was walking all over her now.
"Where do I even begin?" Naruto wondered out loud. "I suppose the beginning will do."
"Your uncle's little poisoning of Lord Edgar Yronwood, for starters," Naruto said as he took a sip of wine.
"His wounds festered from his duel with my uncle, I'm told," Arianne stated, only for Naruto to stare at her with a deadpan look.
"Come now," Naruto prodded, "A Lord of a House like the Yronwood doesn't just have his wounds fester, especially with a maester around to tend to him. Not within 2 days, anyway. Your uncle murdered one of his brother's Lords and got away with it because he couldn't just fuck the women that weren't off limits to him. And your father didn't punish him. Sending a man like him to Lys in exile? Not much of an exile."
"And even though your father sent Quentyn to foster with the Yronwood lord to make amends, it did little to quell Lord Anders' hatred of your father. It would only take one blunder from you for him to consider rebellion. And if he were to rebel, he might actually succeed. House Yronwood is like the Boltons to the Starks or the Reynes to the Lannnister. Your most powerful bannerman but also the one that could overthrow you if they aren't kept in check. Then there was Doran's decision to not train you on how to rule and alienating you further when you found out about the pact with Viserys. He did you no favors by doing these things." Naruto said he put his drink down and placed his hand on her inner thigh, very close to her pussy. He was testing the waters, seeing if she would reciprocate. Arianne met with her cousins and Ellaria after her meeting with the Dragon King.
"Well, what did the Dragon King have to say, Ari?" Nymeria asked.
"He had many things to say. He was willing to let most of the Lannisters die, but he told me that for him, several were off limits, since they would be marrying into Reyne family." Arianne said.
"I don't like that. The Lannister's all should die for what Tywin's beast did to Elia." Obara gruffly mentioned off to the side with her arms crossed.
"It was one of his stipulations. I didn't see any real need to provoke him over something as minor as that." Arianne refuted.
"What else did he say? I know one of the things you wanted was for the both of you to join in marriage to him." Nymeria asked as she leaned on the chair.
"He was willing to agree to that, but he mentioned that he was planning to marry others, including his aunt Daenerys, if she agrees." Arriane informed them.
"That seems like a bad idea, no? What is he going to do when it comes time to name a successor?" Nymeria asked, already seeing the potential for another Dance of Dragons forming.
"He said he would choose his successor as the one best suited to lead after him, not follow tradition and name his first born son as his heir." Arianne said to them.
"That does seem smart. History has shown us that sometimes the better ruler is the 2nd or 3rd child and not the first. I suppose that's the best he can do, given the situation." Tyene commented.
"What about the Dornish Rights that we got from his ancestor?" Obara asked, as that was the thing they were all eager to know about.
"He was very insistent that those concessions his ancestor gave us are unacceptable and must change, given the state the Seven Kingdoms are in." Arianne said, and Obara and Nymeria gasped in surprise. Arianne eyed Ellaria and Tyene, noting their expressions were fake, which meant they must have already known about that, and sent her in with bad info. 'Did the Dragon King already get to them? Have they switched allegiances?'
"What did he say specifically, Ari?" Nymeria pressed, urgent to know what the Targaryen king wanted to do away with..
"He wants to raise our taxes, making them the same as the other kingdoms. He's not happy that we have our own set of laws that differs from the rest of the Kingdoms and wants to abolish that, making them into something that more closely resembles the other six Kingdoms. He didn't say anything about the female primogeniture, so I assume he's fine with us keeping that, but he also wants to take away our house's Princely Status." Arianne said.
"That bastard! He's got some nerve, saying that! Why didn't you just leave when he suggested that!?" Obara demanded of her cousin.
"I didn't want to provoke him. His armies are vast, his influence continues to expand, and his reach is such that he came all the way from the Wall down to us here to the Stormlands in less than a year. We need to be careful when dealing with him, Obara." Arianne mentioned.
"Careful!? Dorne was never conquered by the Dragons before. That's why you're a Princess and not a Lady. Are you suggesting we bend the knee to them now and keep what few scraps he allows us!? For what reason!?" Obara demanded of her.
Arianne looked at the strongest of the Sand Snakes with a careful gaze..
"The one reason that matters. Our Survival. You saw the Dragon he flew in on with Tyene and Ellaria, Obara. He's got 3 more at least that big. He has a massive army that increases with every kingdom that joins him, and the Stormlands and Dorne are the only 2 he doesn't have. There's no chance that the Stormlands won't join him. They are desperate for a leader to unite behind to bring order back to these lands. He's powerful and very dangerous. Our House is at it's weakest that it's ever been, Obara. All of our male heirs dead, Uncle Oberyn murdered by the Mountain that committed such atrocities against us previously with Elia and her children. My father and my brother murdered by agents of the Lannisters. The Lannister's have heaped injury upon injury on us. We cannot sit back and do nothing while the Dragon King tramples all over them. He has already destroyed House Lannister and given it over to the Reynes but Tywin's daughter remains in King's Landing. We still have a chance to get some revenge for the many tragedies House Lannister caused us. But, we can only do that with his help. And he will not let us join him without concessions on our part." Arianne explained.
"If we walk away from these negotiations without a deal, House Martell will lose what little standing it has left. Our Lords will see me as weak and unworthy of leading Dorne and we will likely be overthrown, either by the Yronwoods, who are still mad about Oberyn causing the death of the last Lord, or one of the other Houses deciding they would be better suited for ruling our desert kingdom. That is why we cannot afford to simply walk away. It's far too risky." Arianne said.
Arianne looked at Tyene and Ellaria as she explained all of this, realizing when she looked at them that Naruto had indeed gotten to them, that they had in reality switched sides and were working for Naruto now, and likely had fallen for him. They had sent her into that meeting with bad information, causing her to be caught completely off guard. They were trying to sabotage her and Dorne's efforts. Well, that gave her an idea about how to get what she wanted.
"Worry not, though, I have a plan. One that will get us a better deal with the Dragonlord, and allow us to get our revenge on the Lannisters." Arianne said with a smirk as she laid out her plan.
Next Day
