Hey everyone, it's been what almost 10 years since my last update?
Anyway, I apologize for that. Back in the day, I didn't have much confidence in myself and even the tiniest, most well-meaning critique made me feel horribly inadequate as a writer, just an utter failure with no talent.
That and some terrible family circumstances led me to giving up on this story completely, believing I couldn't do it
Cut to 2021, I open this old ffnet acct for funsies and to my surprise,,,,people are still following this story.
Despite how long it's been, I still get notifications for subscribers/favorites, comments and even a few messages asking me abt the fic over the years.
And I thought, hey you know what? These readers deserve an ending.
So I'm happy to announce the Violinist and the Witch reboot is now up on ao3

I have a bit more to say
OK, a lot of things have changed over the years, both myself as a writer and the story itself
While Kyousuke and Sayaka will definitely have their happy ending, their story has gone through massive changes in almost every way (plot, setting, etc),
evolving to become something a lot darker and heavier than the original
It's still kind of a shippy fic, but it's also a story about grief, rage, all the messy, horrible things following the end of a life cut too short.
It deals with depression, suicidal thoughts, self destructive tendencies, and gets mindscrewy in lots of places.

Also just a warning, this story is not really about 'healing', neither are the relationships really 'healthy'.
It's not about moving on or becoming a better person at all, not in the traditional sense
It's difficult to pin down the themes of this story exactly, but if I had to name one?
I would call this a story of two broken people finding both pain and solace with each other and somehow loving each other through it all
In a way, this was also my original direction for this fic
It's just the journey to the ending is much, much different now haha
I apologize if this isn't the story you were originally invested in, and I apologize if you can no longer enjoy it the same way
Still, I hope you'll give it a chance, and maybe you'll find something to love about this version anyway

I'll do my best to finish the story proper this time, along with a couple other rewrites some day (looking at you too, the Assassin & the Prince)
