Chapter 11: Buggin Out
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. I'm glad to see all of you enjoyed my latest chapter and my new character addition. I'm also thrilled to say this story is nearing 150 followers and favorites! Thanks for all your support guys. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
We find ourselves in Mount Pillar where Sarah was sneaking around with a headlamp on her head.
Taking out a map she sees a path with an X labeled on it.
"I hope Wamma's right about this." Sarah said.
Kicking some small rocks, Sarah peeks inside and finds herself in the Battlegear armory.
Grinning she looks around at all the gear until her eyes lock on a special sword.
"The Sting Blade. Just where Wamma said it would be." Sarah said taking out her scanner and scanning it. "The guys are gonna be so jealous."
Sarah was about leave when she heard a noise.
Turning around she gasps to see a Danian Guard was right behind her.
Meanwhile back in Chaotic, a battle was going on in the Crellan Drome.
Inside we see Tom battling against a girl with dark skin and brown hair. This was Karen Beecher or her screen name Bumblebee.
On her side of the field was Junda, Lhad, Hota and Wamma while Tom only had Tangath Toborn left.
"Come on MajorTom. You gonna make your move or do I need to take a seat while you make your choice?" She smirks.
Zooming out we see Roxas sitting with Kaz, Peyton, Miles, and Chan Lee.
"Come on Tom this is a no-brainer. Go for Junda. Move Tangath Toborn across from Junda." Peyton said to the screen.
"Tom is in a real tough spot. If he messes this up BumbleBee is gonna sting him right where it hurts." Miles said.
"What do you mean?" Roxas asks.
"Look at the board. Tom has only 2 real options to move his creature. In front of Junda or Lhad. If he puts Tangath in the middle then Karen can come at him with literally any of her creatures." Chan Lee said pointing to the screen.
Touching the icon, Tom began moving Tangath towards Junda.
"That's it, almost there." Peyton said but Tom ends up moving Tangath in front of Lhad making Peyton groan in agony.
"Peyton what's the big deal? Tangath Toborn is way stronger than both those Danians." Kaz said.
"I wouldn't be too sure. Dainians are full of surprises." Miles said.
"How so?" Roxas asks.
"Look dude the Danians are basically bugs." Peyton said making bug-like noises. "Why do you think bugs have been on the earth for like thousands of years? They are survivors. Ever hear the saying Survive and Conquer?"
"No I have not." Roxas said.
"Because it's Divide and Conquer." Chan Lee corrects.
"Play word games all you want but Miles can tell you Danians equal danger." Peyton said.
"Oh man where's Sarah I bet she lives for this kind of talk?" Kaz assumes.
"She said something about going to Perim." Miles said.
"Probably one of her secret scans." Peyton said as the location randomizer spun.
"The location…Mount Pillar."
"Yes." Karen grins. "Time to win this. Lhad attacks Tangath Toborn."
Touching the icons Tom turned into Tangath Toborn while Karen turned into the Danian.
"Get ready because this is gonna sting." Lhad smirks.
"Assuming I don't code you first. Let's get Chaotic." Tangath said as they were transported away.
Inside Mount Pillar, Tangath was walking through the giant bug colony looking for any sign of Lhad little did he know said bug was watching him from the ceiling.
Summoning a Pyroblaster, Llhad watched as Tangath Toborn was distracted by a cave drawing.
"That's a face only a mother could love. Or an Aunt." He jokes.
"Now if you only battled as good as you made jokes." Turning around Tangath Toborn was greeted by fireballs shot at him.
Turning down a path, Tangath jumped down a slide-like tunnel entering another room.
"You want to play sneaky? I can do sneaky." Tangath smirks before disappearing into the ground.
As Lhad slowly walks in, Tangath burst out of the ground surprising them.
"Vine Snare!" Tangath said tying Lhad up.
Struggling Lhad tried to escape but the vines were strong.
"It's not over til it's over. Ember Swarm!" Releasing a powerful fire attack it blasts Lhad knocking it to the ground.
"Trigger Hive Ability!" Lhad declares.
"Uh oh." Kaz said.
"What's Hive Ability?" Roxas asks.
"It's a very special power exclusive to the Danians." Miles grins.
"Take a look at the screen." Chan Lee points out.
Looking at the board Roxas saw Junda disappear and Lhad's energy went up.
"Karen just ditched Junda to boost Lhad's power." Peyton explains.
"It's kind of like the Underworld sacrifice ability." Roxas said.
"Hmm yes and no. You see Danians gain special powers from being near one another on the board. Gives them special powers and support abilities. Danians are all about teamwork." Chan Lee explains.
"You're going down." Lhad said getting back up.
Summoning a Liquilizer, Tangath Toborn fires a blast of water but Lhad stood strong.
"Sorry, but thanks to Junda's help that hardly even tickled. But this won't. Rock Wave!" Hurling a wave of boulders Lhad knocks Tangath into the next room.
"I can't believe I'm getting hammered by an ant." Tangath groans.
"Why not? I hammered your other 5 creatures too." Aiming a Pyroblaster, Lhad fires knocking Tangath to the ground.
As he tries to counterattack, Lhad took every attack before one more shot fired resulted in Tangath being turned into code.
"This is why her screenname is BumbleBee that had to sting." Peyton cringed.
"Yeah that was vicious." Chan Lee said.
Appearing back in the drome, Tom watched as Karen took her scanner.
"Feel free to give me a call when you're ready for a rematch." Karen winks before walking away.
"Tom is gonna need a serious pick me up after this." Kaz said.
"I'll call Sarah and see if she wants to join in." Miles took out his scanner but when it was answered he gasps surprised.
Looking at it, the 5 of them gasp seeing a Danian guard was on the screen instead of Sarah.
"That's not good." Chan Lee said.
Soon we find ourselves at the base of Mount Pillar looking out at the location Tom was just thrashed in.
"Thanks for the scan Miles." Roxas said.
"Don't worry about Roxas I got a ton of them." Miles brushes off.
Using the zoom functions on their scanners Kaz looked at the entrance to see it was guarded by 3 Danians.
"Maybe we should try a different gate." Kaz suggests.
"Negatory Kaz, all the gates have guards. Danians do not like trespassers." Peyton said.
'I could try opening a corridor of darkness, but there's no guarantee the others would be able to come through.' Roxas thought feeling the coat hiding in his backpack.
"So how do we get in?" Tom asks.
"Easy, with a distraction." Miles smirks looking at Peyton.
Making his way down, Peyton walks up to the guards.
"Uh you mind squeezing together? I want this to be a group scan." Peyton said.
Glaring at him, the guards chased Peyton away but they didn't realize he was leading them to the others.
Jumping down the sounds of punches and kicks echoed from behind rocks.
"Hiyah!" Chan Lee yells followed by a scream.
Soon, the 5 of them were walking out with the guard's weapons.
"The ultimate bug zapper." Tom declares.
"Wow you know how to fight Roxas." Chan Lee said impressed.
"Yeah I have some experience." Roxas admits.
"Alright I've snuck into Mount Pillar tons of times. They gotta be keeping Sarah in the prison cells." Miles said as they made their way in.
Hiding in the shadows they looked to see a squad of Danian soldiers being led by a large green Danian.
"That's Odu-Bathax. A Danian Battlemaster." Miles gasps.
As the Danians marched by a little child sized Danian turned its head looking right at them.
Gulping they thought they were busted.
"Hi Peyton." It waves.
Smiling Peyton waves back before it walked away.
Pausing all of them looked at Peyton in disbelief.
"What? I come here often too." Peyton shrugs.
Making their way down a tunnel, Tom heard the sound of something being shot through a small hole
Tom was about to call out to the others but saw they were walking ahead.
Despite the friend in danger, Tom's curiosity got the better of him and he followed the noise.
On the other end of the tunnel, Tom looks to see Odu-Bathax testing out a Plasma Pounder on the guards.
"Whoa cool Battlegear. I need to scan that." Tom said taking out his scanner.
"Stop shaking you're throwing my aim off." Odu-Bathax orders as the guards shook like rattles nervously.
Meanwhile, the others were making their way through the tunnels.
"Okay the prison is on this level meaning guards can't be too far behind." Miles warns.
"Got it. Keep your eyes open." Peyton said.
"Weapons ready." Chan Lee said as she and Roxas braced themselves.
"You hear that Tom?" Kaz asks but got no answer. "Tom?"
Turning around they saw Tom was nowhere to be seen.
Back in the training room, one guard was shaking in fear as he was blasted by Bathax who was having a blast.
"Come on. I can't get a lock on it." Tom growls.
As Bathax aimed at the last guard he ditched his shield and ran in fear, but as Bathax followed after him he spotted Tom near the rocks.
Firing at him, Tom leaped out of hiding only to find Odu-Bathax glaring at him.
"On your feet human." He orders.
"I was just looking for a friend…guess I made a wrong turn." Tom said trying to sneak out.
"Hold it right there." Bathax orders.
Seeing his stolen staff, Tom reached for it only for Bathax to blow to smithereens forcing Tom to run out as fast as he could.
"Don't just stand there! Get him!" Odu-Bathax orders as the guards raced after Tom.
As Roxas, Chan Lee, Kaz, Peyton and Miles crossed a bridge to the prison Tom came running out and sprinted past them.
"Tom?" Kaz said surprised.
"Hi guys! Run!" Tom yells.
"Run?" They all said confused when shots were fired from behind them.
Turning around they saw Odu-Bathax and his guards emerge.
"We're infested with humans! Fire at will!" Bathax orders forcing them to run.
"What did you do?!" Roxas asks.
"Nothing. I tried to scan some battlegear and they spotted me!" Tom said.
"You what?!" They all snapped.
However, before they could say more Odu-Bathax fired causing Roxas to stumble out of the way and ended up sliding down a hole.
"Roxas!" Chan Lee gasps as more fire came at them.
"This way!" Miles said pulling them down a corridor but yanks them all down a different one making them narrowly avoid being spotted.
When the coast was clear all of them glared at Tom.
"Before you say anything I'm sorry and I'm a greedy Scan Hog." Tom said when Chan Lee punches him hard in the gut. "I deserved that."
"Thanks a lot Tom. Thanks to you all the guards know we're here." Miles said.
"Seriously dude, you ditched us to try and get a scan? What is wrong with you?" Chan Lee asks.
"This is a rescue mission and if Roxas was here, he'd let you have it too." Kaz said.
"Oh my god dude. Roxas has never been to Mount Pillar before. He's probably running through these tunnels with no idea where to go." Miles realized horrifying them.
"Great, now we have to rescue two friends." Kaz groans.
"Can I say I'm sorry again?" Tom asks, and Chan Lee stomped on his foot, making him cringe in pain.
Pulling her fist back she was about to hit him in the face.
"Make this mistake again and I will hurt you." Chan Lee threatens.
"Yes ma'am." Tom groans.
"Hang tight Roxas. Wherever you are." Miles said as they went back to looking for Sarah.
As the guards were searching a dark tunnel, they were on the lookout for Roxas.
"Geez it's pitch black in here." One guard said.
Little did they know a black-coated figure snuck out behind them.
Slowly adjusting his hood, Roxas had to make sure his face was covered.
"I'll be able to help them a lot more like this." Roxas said before heading to the prison. 'Hopefully none of them recognize me in this.'
Down the hall, his friends were trying to find their way to the prison.
"Which way do we go from here?" Kaz asks.
"Uh let me think." Miles pauses.
"We made a right at the Incubation Chamber or was that the ExoSkeletal chamber?" Peyton recalls.
"Ugh great. We're lost." Chan Lee facepalms.
"Whoa look at that." Kaz said as Tom noticed a familiar carving on the wall.
"Wait a second…I was here during my battle earlier today." Tom realizes.
Moving around like when he was in Tangath Toborn he tried to remember where to go.
"Uh what's with him?" Kaz asks.
"I think you hit him one too many times." Peyton said glancing at Chan.
"This way." Tom said leading them into the tunnel he slid down.
Following after him, they arrived in the Danian prison.
"Yes it's just like my battle. Let's find Sarah and get out of here." Tom smiles when Kaz notices something.
"Uh we might have a problem." Kaz points.
From opposite ends, two groups of guards led by Odu-Bathax charged in.
"Not again." Miles groans as both groups readied their weapons.
Little did they know Roxas was behind Odu-Bathax's group.
"We gotta port out of here!" Kaz said grabbing his scanners.
"Thundaga!" Roxas said firing a bolt of lightning zapping one group from behind before it flew hitting the other army.
"Duck!" Tom yells as the chaotic players ducked to avoid being hit.
Looking up they saw both groups were down and groaning in pain.
"What just happened?" Chan Lee asks as they got up.
"Works for me." Tom shrugs grabbing a spear and tossing it to Peyton.
"Let's hurry they won't be out for long." Miles said.
Running along the cells, Peyton peeked in each one until he found the one with Sarah in it.
"Peyton?" Sarah said surprised.
"Yo." Peyton smiles.
"What are you doing here?" Sarah asked as the others ran up.
"We can chat later." Chan Lee said.
"Yeah the guards could be here at any second. We need to get you out now." Kaz agrees.
"No way they took my scanner and I'm not leaving until I get it back." Sarah explains.
"That's what you think." Using his weapon, Peyton blasts the bars down.
However, before they could rescue her multiple darts shot out knocking them all unconscious.
Gasping Roxas looks to see a large red Danian with a blowgun step out of the shadows. This was Wamma.
Roxas was about to go help them when Odu-Bathax and his guards regained consciousness.
Seeing there was no way he could get them all out like this Roxas stepped back to avoid being spotted.
"It's official. I hate these bugs." Roxas mutters.
Soon all of them were brought before Bathax and his guards.
"Nice rescue guys." Sarah said sarcastically.
"We don't take kindly to spies who invade our territory." Odu-Bathax said.
"I told you before I'm not a spy. I'm a fan of the Danians and I—" Sarah starts.
"Quiet!" Bathax interrupts.
Jumping down to their level, Odu-Bathax lands in front of them.
"Now I have enough headaches without you humans clogging up my jail so I decided to let you all go." Odu-Bathax said making them all smile and cheer. "But then I thought if I don't punish someone Mount Pillar will be crawling with your kind. So I'm keeping one of you as my prisoner. Choose amongst yourselves who's gonna stay."
"I-I'm willing to stay." Kaz said surprising everyone.
"Okay kid have it your way." Odu-Bathax said.
"But I know Sarah wouldn't let me do that." Kaz points out.
"Yes I would. Why should I stay?" Sarah asks.
"The only reason we came here was to bust you out." Peyton points out.
"I was bummed about my match. I didn't even want to come." Tom said.
"Yeah well the Danians wouldn't have known we were here if you hadn't thought getting a scan was more important than helping a friend in trouble." Miles points out.
"Are you ever going to let me live that down?" Tom whines.
"I didn't ask for anyone's help." Sarah said.
"Oh because you were doing so well locked up in that cell." Chan Lee said sarcastically.
As all of them argued Odu-Bathax was getting more and more annoyed.
"Enough! I will give you one hour to decide who stays! Take them back to their cell so they can think it over." Odu-Bathax orders.
Back in the prison, Wamma was standing guard as the chaotic players sat in the cell trying to figure a way out.
"What the heck was that?" Sarah asks looking at Wamma.
"Hey everything was fine until that Danian showed up." Tom points.
"I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to Wamma." Sarah gestures.
"Hey I was only trying to help." He admits.
"Wait you know this Danian?" Miles said surprised.
"This is Wamma. He got himself into a jam one night and I saved his thorax. We've been friends ever since. Or so I thought." Sarah glares.
"Look I tried to get them back but they won't Mandablores like me near those things." Wamma explains.
"So what do we do? How do we get our scanners back now?" Kaz asks when suddenly Wamma heard a noise.
Turning around he saw Roxas emerge.
"Who the heck are you?" Wamma asks surprised.
"What is that creature?" Sarah asks as he approached the cell.
"I don't know. That coat covers it up well." Peyton said as Roxas summoned Oblivion.
"Whoa check out that battlegear." Miles said amazed.
"What is that thing?" Chan Lee asks interested.
Approaching the cell, Roxas looked at Wamma.
"Hey don't hurt me I'm afriend." Wamma said nervously.
Walking past him, Roxas tapped his keyblade against the cell and the door opened instantly.
"Whoa where can I get one of those?" Wamma asks interested.
"You're helping us?" Kaz asks as Roxas nods.
Gesturing with his hand, Roxas told them to follow him.
"Are we really about to trust this creature?" Tom asks.
"It's either him or the Danians." Miles said.
"And right now the latter is not looking promising right now." Wamma points out.
"Good point." Tom said as they followed after.
In the room, Odu-Bathax was impatiently waiting for time to run out.
"Ugh I shouldn't have given them so much time." He said when he heard a noise on the other side of the door.
Lifting his head up the noise echoed revealing the sounds of whacking and shots fired.
Seconds later the door burst open revealing Roxas jumping in.
"What in the?!" Odu-Bathax said standing up as his guards stood at attention.
"Stop him! He let the prisoners escape!" Wamma yells running in when suddenly Roxas swings his keyblade at his feet sending the Danian tumbling to the ground.
Coming in from behind, everyone looked to see Odu-Bathax leap at Roxas.
Rolling out of the way, Roxas narrowly dodges him.
Swinging a spear, Odu-Bathax attempts to stop him, but Roxas uses his keyblade to block it.
Moving to the side, Roxas swings downwards breaking the spear in half and nailing Odu-Bathax sending him crashing against his chair.
"Did you dudes see that?" Peyton gasps.
"He's beating Odu-Bathax." Miles said amazed.
"I don't know Who the heck are you but you messed with the wrong Danian!" Odu-Bathax grabbed his Plasma Pounder and open fired.
Swinging his keyblade, Roxas slashes away each shot fired before leaping over him.
"Waterza!" Firing a blast of water, he knocked Odu-Bathax into the wall.
Looking to the stand where all the scanners were two guards blocked his way.
Throwing his keyblade with all his might he knocked both guards to the ground.
Walking up to the stand, he tossed all his friends their scanners.
"Oh man I gotta scan this guy." Tom said.
"No scanning! We're leaving!" Chan Lee said threatening to punch him before they all ported out.
As Wamma slowly got up he exchanged a glance with Roxas.
"Stand down you fiend!" Wamma said aiming his spear at him but Roxas dodges and runs out. "Oh shoot he got away."
Slowly getting up Odu-Bathax turned to him.
"Wamma. You're coming with me. The Queen and the other Battlemasters need to know." He groans.
The next day in Chaotic, Roxas was talking with Tom, Kaz, Sarah, Miles and Chan Lee about what happened after they were separated.
"So then that tunnel ended up shooting me right out of Mount Pillar. I tried to find another way in but they were all blocked." Roxas explains.
"You got off easy." Miles said.
"Yeah but you missed this craziest thing. This creature in a black coat totally saved our butts." Tom said.
"You don't say?" Roxas said grateful none of them knew it was him.
"Yeah he had this crazy battlegear that he used to not only free us but also knocked Odu-Bathax around. It was insane." Miles said.
"We were honestly lucky this creature showed up when it did. I just wish I could have scanned it or that crazy battlegear." Tom said.
"Yeah it was so weird. It looked like a sword but in the shape of a key." Kaz said.
"With one tap it unlocked our cell door. Imagine if it was used in other places." Chan Lee said.
"Hey by the way where's Peyton?" Roxas asks.
"We haven't seen him since we got back." Sarah said.
"I'll call him." Kaz said taking out his scanner.
"Guys a little help." Looking at it, all of them cringe seeing Peyton locked up again with two guards behind him.
"Not again." Roxas groans.
"What an idiot." Chan Lee facepalms.
"Peyton port out now!" Miles yells.
Meanwhile, at Mount Pillar, we see Wamma and Odu-Bathax kneeling before a large brown Danian with royal garb. This was Queen Illexia, ruler of the Danians.
"What business do you two have that you had to seek an audience with me so urgently?" She asks.
"Queen Illexia, down on prison levels I saw something. Something I had never seen before. A creature wearing only a black coat broke several Chaotic players out of our prison before overpowering me and my guards before making its escape." Odu-Bathax explains.
"You called me here because one creature escaped?" Queen Illexia asks.
"It's not just that my queen. It's how he did it." Odu-Bathax said before gesturing to Wamma.
"Uh he had a battlegear, your highness. By using it he freed the humans and then used it to crush us." Wamma said.
"One piece of battlegear did all that?" Queen Illexia said interested. "What tribe did this creature hail from?"
"We don't know, that black coat covered his entire body." Wamma said.
Intrigued, the Danian Queen couldn't help but ponder this.
"Very well. Should this cloaked creature ever choose to return make sure our forces are aware. I am very interested to learn about this powerful battlegear." Queen Illexia orders.
"Yes your highness." Both Danians said.
