Jim in his troll-half form stumbles upon a strange door that takes him to another universe, where he encounters Hilda who has recently been turned into a troll and is trying to change back into a human. The two of them become friends as they try to return to being human and help both the trolls and the human citizens of Trolberg.

At the library Jim, Hilda, and their friends were preparing to go out and hunt the Void of No Return. Claire was summoned to a kitchen area by Kaisa, who instructed her to cut some onions. The teen did as she was told and she began to shed tears. Kaisa produced a glass vial and told Claire to collect the tears quickly.

"What's this for?" Asked Claire as she finished collecting the tears.

"They're to help to make a potion for Jim to hopefully turn him back into a human. The tears of a loved one possess powerful magic that can really work wonders." Said Kaisa as she took the vial.

"Do you really think you can help Jim?" Asked Claire.

"We're going to do everything we can for him, until he's back to his old human self." Said Kaisa.

"Thank you." Said Claire.

The two smiled at each other.

In another part of the library, Merlin was in one of the witches' workshops carving another small portable stone gateway. Merlin planned to use this gateway to banish the Void of No Return to a shadow dimension, so it couldn't harm anyone ever again.

Soon everyone was ready to go hunting. Jim and Hilda put on their glamour masks and headed out with Claire, Merlin, Johanna, Baba, Twig, Frida, and David. Johanna also called upon Tontu to come and assist them. They all left Trolberg and headed into the woods to hunt the Void of No Return and put a stop to it's plans.
