Five Years Lost

Chapter 2:

Emily smiles and quietly closes the door behind her. It was a little after eight and Henry went down to bed perfectly. He's such a sweet boy and she hopes when she has a baby, they're half as good as Henry is.

Since turning thirty-nine last year, she really started thinking about her life and what's been missing. Emily's very happy- career wise, but personally, there needs to be improvement. She does want to be with someone and have kids, but she feels like she's running out of time. Recently she went to her OBGYN and talked about her options. Doctor Dunphy said that everything looks good now, but she was running out of time. If she wanted to have a baby, it would have to be soon, like within the next year. Emily was happy that she still had time and even looked into IVF with an anonymous sperm donor. After spending the evening with Henry confirmed how much she really does want kids.

Shortly after his parents left, Henry played with his toys while Emily cooked dinner. They little boy approved and even asked for second of everything including broccoli. He watched an episode of 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse' while she cleaned up after dinner. After everything was done, they read lots of books, went to the park, got ice cream, came back home to play with dinosaurs and dump trucks, then it was bath time.

After taking a forty-five-minute bath, Emily finally managed to get him out. They snugged and read so many more books before brushing his teeth, gave him more snuggles and lots of kisses, then laying him down in his crib. "Goodnight Henry. Love you. Momma and Dada will ne here when you wake up." She explains. "Night night Momma, night night Dada." Henry says before putting his thumb into his mouth to go to sleep. Emily smiles and turns off the light.

The 'Friends' theme song was on tv when she noticed the text messages, seven of them, all from JJ. Emily went through them while sipping on a glass of white wine. 'Everything okay?' 'What are you guys doing?' 'How was dinner?' 'Did Henry eat okay?' 'Give him a kiss for us.' 'Did you remember to have him brush his teeth?' 'Thanks again for watching him tonight. We really apricate you so much!' Emily smiles. Seven text messages, all in just an hour. 'Everything is going great! We had lots of fun. We read books, played with dinosaurs and trucks, went for a walk, got ice cream, took a long bubble bath, ate pizza, oranges and broccoli for dinner, (had seconds!) brushed his teeth, gave snuggles then bed. He gave me no problems for bed. I hope you're having fun." Emily replies.

While watching Joey from 'Friends' tries to get the turkey off that was stuck on his head, JJ messaged back. 'Good, I'm so glad. He's been a little stinker for bed lately. Yes, we're having a great time. We should be home around 11:30.' Emily smiles. 'No problems at all. He was an angel. Stop worrying and have more fun. Take your time coming home.' Emily messaged back.

Around 11:20, the front door was unlocked and opened. "Welcome home!" Emily tells them from the couch still enjoying her wine and continued watching 'Friends.' After not hearing a replay for a minute or two, she gets up to meet them in the hallway.

Emily wasn't greeted by JJ or Will. Instead, there was a man standing there pointing a gun at her. "Hello there, Princess." He said while pointing the gun up. Another man appeared so she was stuck between the two men. Emily raised her hands. "Take what you want, but hurry, there are two cops that will be here any minute." The taller man smiles. "We're not worried about LaMontagne or Jareau, Princess." "Just get the hell out of here! Take what you want and just leave!" Emily yells. "Well, you heard the lady, we will grab what we need and leave…. Dan, get the money and the kid, I'll get this lovely woman." Dan smiles and runs upstairs. Emily starts panicking and fighting against the nameless man when he grabbed her roughly. "No! You leave him alone! Take me instead!" She yells. The man smiles. "Oh, don't worry, Princess, you're coming too." He tells her. Emily continues fighting again him. He started struggling against her kicks, scratches, bites, punches and pulls.

Emily smiles. She could take him and be back in control. She could get him down and then wait for Dan to take him down. She must try, not only for herself but for Henry. Especially for Henry.

"Dan! Let's go! This bitch is getting feisty!" He yells. Emily continues fighting. A few seconds later, Dan came down carrying a crying Henry and a bag of money. "Emmy!" Henry cries. "It's okay, Bud. We're going to be just fine." She promises as she kicks against the man restraining her. "Alright stupid bitch." She hears then everything went black.
