This chapter will be short, but the transition to a brand new Arc or Event. This will be daunting, and I'll be busy writing and revising. Maybe. So I'll stop posting until it's ready, I hope you understand. Schedule is all over the place, but be satisfied with what your got I guess.
Midnight readies the countdown, counting down from 10. All the students prepared themselves, as it started counting down from three. Once she counts to zero, everyone starts running. The first problem was the narrow hallway, with everyone crowding each other. Ice starts freezing the floor, trapping almost everyone as Todoroki runs ahead of them. All 1-A students were able to get out of the ice and continue tailing him.
"Woah, All of 1-A made it through and some of 1-B made it through. What did you do to them, Aizawa?" Present Mic asks.
"Although not having the experience to realize what the real world holds, they've seen what the after-effect does to the heroes. They learn to not hesitate," Aizawa explains, a lot of the students passing the ice trap. Meanwhile, the race is continuing, and Kane and Kasli start making their bets.
"How about, which one of our students gets a better place than the other one loses. And we'll do that bet on the spot," Kasli says, grinning a bit.
"Nothing that has to involve the public is fine by me," Kane responds.
"Perfect."
They watched and the students passed huge zero pointers, arriving at the huge fall pit. Juto actively flung himself by the force of the Void Energy, landing on circle platforms one by one. Yaoyorozu was able to get on the line and walk across it. Everyone gets past the fallen pit in their ways, Todoroki making it past and approaching the minefield. The others approach fast, Todoroki carefully stepping between the lines. Bakugo approaches fast, as things intensify. The two race, as well as Juto and Yaoyorozu behind them in third and fourth place. It's starting to get close until a big explosion appears behind them. It was Midoriya, and he was approaching first place and eventually passed the two. This intrigued Kane, seeing him pass by them and cause another explosion. Going way ahead of them and landing, he starts to run and run. Bakugo and Todoroki slowly catch up, and the first-place winner, Izuku Midoriya. Midoriya gets first, Todoroki and Bakugo get second and third place. Yaoyorozu got fourth and Juto was behind her. Kasli cheers, winning the bet and Kane is disappointed.
"Woohoo, alright time for the punishment!" Kasli says, smiling.
"Alright, what do you want me to do?" Kane rolled his eyes and looked at Kasli.
"Oh, ok. Stand up and rest your hands up-right on my hands," Kasli says, Kane, listening to her.
"Ok?"
"Now don't move your hands while I do something."
"Ok?"
Kasli redirects his hands on his mask, unlocking it as his mask is taken off. Kane is more confused, as Kasli leans her face closer. She kisses Kane with her lips to his, her eyes closed while she's kissing him. Kane closes his eyes, and both open their eyes as they finish. Kasli puts her head on Kane's chest, not embarrassed but rather calm.
"You know, there was something in the story that I didn't tell you," Kasli says, muttering.
"What was it?" Kane is calm.
"You were him, and I still loved you to this day. Even when we encountered each other in that alleyway. I knew you were the one. Will you be—"
"Yes, I would do it for you."
Kasli smiles at this, hugging Kane tightly around his chest. Kane brings her head in and rubs it, comforting her as she cries tears of joy. What was respect turns into a relationship, as they both stand there as the second match is about to begin. The bet was off now.
Kirishima, Juto, Yaoyorozu, and Mina team up, Yaoyorozu on top while the rest at the bottom. The match starts, Kirishima on the front lines and hardening his hands. They bash through quirks, blocking and running away from some chasers. Mina makes some acid puddles on the ground behind them, then stops in their tracks and goes around. Meanwhile, Juto is helping get rid of projectiles thrown at them, as they continue defending for some minutes. It comes down to the last two minutes and it's getting tense, everyone is going for the first and second place group. While they stay away from a lot of the groups, keeping their headbands as if they were running from another group. They lasted through the last two minutes, managing to get third behind Todoroki's group. All panting as they hope that they made Lunar and Kasli proud.
Kasli leans her head on Kane's right shoulder, both watching to see their students passing. Kane leans his head on hers, comforting her.
"Ah, they made it to the final game," Kasli says, getting a bit sleepy.
"Let's see what they can do now," Kane says, looking over and seeing Kasli asleep already.
Kane was surprised, rubbing her head as the students took a 35-minute break while they set up the arena. He gets tired too, dozing off and both of them sleep for the 35-minute break. As preparation was done, Present Mic started the announcement. Waking up Kane from his short map, looking at the first matchup. It was Midoriya versus Shinso, as both of them walked into the arena. Standing on opposing sides, they look each other in the eyes. Kasli still is asleep, as the match begins and they just stand there. Kane watched as something happened to Midoriya like he was being mind controlled. Walking near the edge of the arena, he created a gust of wind and was able to get out of his trans state. Turning around to Shinso, as he runs towards him, Shinso tries to talk crap at him. Both of them lock, as they punch each other and walk to the other side of the arena. Midoriya tossed Shinso out of bounds, getting him disqualified and moving on to the next match. Both give respect to each other, and the next match begins. Kane is interested, looking over to see Kasli still fast asleep. Him sighing, as the rest of the matches, went by. After the match passed by, it was Juto versus Iida. The match starts, and Iida is already bolting towards Juto. Juto dodged a kick from him, backing off to create a dull blade, blocking a full-on attack from Iida. He was shocked by this, being pushed away and dodging every slash from Juto. Iida realizes he's nearing the edge, having to go all out for the time being. His engines rev up, turning into blue flames as he gets out of there and behind Juto. Kicking him over the line, Juto went flying and was about to hit the wall. However, Juto grins as he goes through his portal, disappearing and Iida is confused. A portal appears behind him, kicking him in the back with his momentum and knocking him out of bounds. Juto wins the match and Iida lies there confused, while Juto walks up to him. Offering his hand, Iida grabs it and they both shake each other's hand. The crowd cheers at this unexpected remark, the teachers talking to each other.
"That was very unexpected, it was like Lunar's quirk. Maybe he's his little brother," All Might says.
"No, if you were paying any attention. The portal had that glowing star effect on it, as opposed to Lunar's portal," Aizawa says, hiding the fact that they're brothers.
"Are you sure? It seems like it."
"I am positive it is."
The next match starts, Mina going for the offensive and dodging all of Aoyama's attacks. He shoots lasers out of his pelvis, Mina closing in and splashing acid on his gear. It melts, Aoyama is shocked by this and gets an uppercut in the chin. Knocking out and Mina wins the match, with ease. The next match was Yaoyorozu versus Tokoyami, they both walked out and entered the arena. Preparing themselves as the match starts, Dark Shadow appears and starts being aggressive. Swiping at her while her shield is up, blocking each attack on her as she backs away slightly. She gets an idea, making a pile of sticks and lighting it to make a fire. Dark Shadow grunts, seemingly getting weaker near the fire and backing off. She sees this flaw but doesn't know whether it's weaker to the fire or the light that was emitted. She creates more of this around her, conjuring up her Bo staff, and runs towards Tokoyami. Dark Shadow appears in front of her, swiping and Yaoyorozu sliding under him. Continued running at Tokoyami, swinging her Bo staff, and Tokoyami dodges. However, Tokoyami couldn't dodge it all, getting hit in the left chest and falling to the ground. The Bo staff pointer at his neck, him surrendering and she takes the match. Dark Shadow was disappointed, going back to Tokoyami and both leaving the arena. The 2nd final match of the first bracket was Kirishima versus Tetsutetsu. The match begins as both of them run to each other, powering up their fists. Tetsutetsu swings, but Kirishima can easily read this as he sidesteps to the side, countering his attack with his. Punching him in the face, shocking Tetsutetsu. They both exchange swings at each other, but Kirishima blocks or dodges his attacks. Landing one good blow to the head, knocking out Tetsutetsu and winning the match. Helping Tetsutetsu up and to the nurse's office, as the first bracket wraps up and the second bracket rolls by.
Midoriya and Todoroki stepped up, the first match was theirs. It starts, Todoroki's ice bolts towards Midoriya as a flick of the finger blasts the ice and sends a strong wind. Rumbling the entire stadium, and sending cold air around the arena. They continue this trade-off, Midoriya injuring his finger in the process. After some exchanges, they start exchanging blows with each other. Punching and kicking each other, while blabbering on some stuff that no one was able to hear. Kane wasn't able to hear, but could make out the words that were coming from the TV. Realizing what he's trying to get at, Todoroki's left side starts to flame up, burning the ice on his right side. Both with a determined look, bolt at each other with full power. Cementos create huge walls between them, breaking apart and a large explosion appears. Sending a huge shockwave of winds that blew away anything, rumbling the stadium more. Kasli wakes up to see the bright lights in her eyes, Kane covering his eyes and hers as the light dims down. The smoke covers the arena, as it dims and Todoroki still stands in the arena. While Midoriya was out of bounds, Todoroki moved on to the next match. Kasli leaned on Kane's shoulder and went back to sleep, Kane was just shocked that she went back to sleep. After the match, they took a small break to repair the arena.
They finished up after half an hour of repairs, and the next match was Shiozaki and Juto. It starts with Juto dodging and running around from the vines that were sent at him. A vine manages to grab his leg, wrapping around his body. He lets out a void burst, breaking free and making a portal underneath her. Falling and landing her feet out of bounds, she was confused. Juto moves on to the next match easily, the next matchup was Yaoyorozu versus Mina. Although both are good with their combat abilities, Yaoyorozu was able to sweep Mina easily with her quirk superiority. Yaoyorozu moved on, both walking out and talking to each other like nothing happened. Kirishima was up against Bakugo, nervous about the outcome that'll happen. It starts, Bakugo blasting his way to Kirishima, blocking the big blast from him. A pebble of his quirk falls off, and Kirishima realizes this is bad. He can only defend the sheer raw power of Bakugo, dodging one and being able to land a hit in. It was weak, but it would've probably gone worse if he didn't train with Lunar. However, the sheer power was too much, one more good blast to the face and was knocked out. Kirishima was out cold, and the 2nd bracket was finished.
The 3rd bracket came in quickly, the match was Todoroki and Juto. Kane focuses on this match, he's interested in whether Juto would succeed or fail. The sirens blare, but Todoroki starts with his ice. Juto blasted the ice with his void manipulation, it melted the ice somehow as it bolted towards Todoroki. Todoroki dodges it, making ice pillars, and starts running at Juto. The look in his eyes shows determination and flickers of flame start appearing on his left side. Juto realizes this, running on his right to keep his distance, teleporting away. Todoroki was expecting him to appear behind him, turning around. However, this was a trick, he appears behind him. Kicking him in the back and Todoroki goes flying. He saves himself from going out of the arena, making an ice wall and slamming into it. Todoroki's flame light, sending a blast of flame at Juto. He makes a void shield protecting him, however around the shield. Some of the heat goes around and slightly burns his skin until the flame attack stops. Taking down his shield and tossing his projectile, Todoroki brings up the dial. He sends a huge wave of flame at Juto, as he turns up his dial, and the clash of their powers. Sending heats of waves and a big blast of winds goes throughout the whole arena, Cementos tried to stop them, but a giant wall was not going to help and a big blast shook the arena. Like an explosion, without the lethal part of it. Dust fills the air once more, and when it settles. Juto stands in the arena, huffing, and puffing, and Todoroki is revealed to be out of bounds. The crowd cheers, Juto clenching his fist in victory. He's going to the finals, as Kane smiles knowing that he's strong now.
Yaoyorozu versus Bakugo, under each one's circumstances. Both could win this match, however, it's unclear who will win. They both walk into the arena, as the match starts, and Bakugo blasts straight toward her. She makes a big shield quickly, before trying to hit him with a Bo staff. He dodged, blasting away to keep his distance. Yaoyorozu makes a smoke grenade, pulling the pin and throwing it at him. Bakugo, thinking it's an actual grenade, backs off and smoke starts to cover them. Bakugo takes it easy, as he gets slammed by a stick at the back. Blasting in that direction, but didn't hit anyone. He blasted up into the sky to have a better view, but all he could see was the smoke. Another two grenades smoked more sections of the arena, as he started to blast down in hope of finding her. Smashing into the ground, only pushing away the smoke around him, giving him a bit clearer view. He looks around, before being pelted in the head by some projectiles. Exploding in that direction, heading into the smoke to blast her. However, going into the smoke was a mistake this time, feeling woozy and passing out. When Yaoyorozu steps in, she was wearing a gas mask to protect her. As she drags his body out of the smoke, Midnight can see him. Declaring Bakugo disqualified and she moves on to the final, Yaoyorozu is relieved. He's not as smart as she thought, as the final match will commence.
Juto and Yaoyorozu stepped up, the final was here. Stepping onto the arena, on opposite sides. When they begin, Juto starts throwing projectiles at her. Yaoyorozu made a shield and blocked all of them. Making a Bo staff and bolting to Juto, swinging at him. Juto dodges, using his forearms to dodge and parry the staff. He doesn't want to use his quirk yet, otherwise, he'll be too tired. He hopes Yaoyorozu doesn't learn his weakness, as he parries an attack and kicks her away. Bolting towards her and both locking in. Juto grapples the staff, as he starts to shove Yaoyorozu near the arena edge. Yaoyorozu sees this, digging one end of the staff into the ground, hitting Juto away as she runs around him to go away from the arena edge. Yaoyorozu realizes his weakness, but also she has that weakness. This battle, it's more of a battle of long endurance. They both exchange blows and blocks, the match getting tenser by the minute. Yaoyorozu starts dropping smoke bombs, covering the arena with sleeping gas. Making a mask for herself, as she hopes this is enough to take him down. Juto covers his mouth with void manipulation, closing his eyes to feel the void field. Feeling the energy of Yaoyorozu in the smoke, he bolts towards her and punches her out of the smoke. She launches across the arena, landing on her feet as she wipes the bit of blood from her mouth. Juto runs out from the smoke, as he sends more void projectiles that Yaoyorozu dodges. She can tell he's getting tired, running up to him with the Bo staff as he dodges. Yaoyorozu keeps him on his toes, as he's getting more tired to the point where he couldn't dodge one and get launched. Juto falls to the ground, getting up. However, he falls back to the ground from exhaustion, everyone cheers as Yaoyorozu wins. She goes over to Juto, who was trying to get up. Bending down to help him up, Juto's arms are around her shoulder and both walk out of the arena. Finishing the U.A Sports Festival, as the ceremony soon begins.
All Might stands at the podium, giving medals to Yaoyorozu, Juto, and Todoroki. Poor Bakugo, he didn't get a reward and was so mad at that. He had to be chained up to a pillar, while everyone felt uncomfortable looking at him. Kane didn't wait for the ceremony, making a portal back to the apartment. He tries to wake up Kasli, who was sleeping still. He carries her and goes through, arriving and laying her on the couch. She wakes up some hours later, seeing Kane gone. She looks around to find a note, picks it up, and reads it.
"I left to go to my parent's house, contact me if you want to come over," She reads to herself, with his phone number at the bottom of the paper.
She sees this, pulls out her phone, and goes on the call app. She types in the number and calls it, waiting for a few seconds as the phone rings. A portal opens in the apartment, and she goes through and ends the call. Peeking through to see Kane sitting at the table, with a big bump on his head. Kasli is confused, realizing that Osprey smacked Kane in the head for some reason.
"Oh my gosh, welcome!" Osprey goes over to hug Kasli, "How come the two of you tell me you were dating?"
"We didn't start until today ma'am," Kasli said, rubbing the back of her head.
"Oh, that's why, sorry Kane," Osprey says, looking at Kane.
He gives a thumbs up, rubbing the part where she hit him. Kasli can sense his pain, she did not hold back on the punch. Osprey brought out the food, it was Japanese Curry. Kasli wasn't excited to eat spicy food again, but Osprey assured her as she took a bite. It was not as spicy as she was thinking, actually enjoying the food. They all eat the curry on the table, finishing up, and thunder rumbles. They all look out the window to see it raining, the pitter-patter of the rain hitting the window. It was starting to get cold, and Kane was sitting on the sofa with a blanket over him. Everyone else is doing their things, Osprey and Whimbrel going to their bedroom to relax. Juto goes to his bedroom, while Kasli sits beside Kane. He offers to share the blanket, and Kasli accepts and sits beside him with the blanket over them. They watch TV together, Kasli leaning her head on Kane's shoulder. Kane looking at the U.A Sports Festival Highlights. Osprey peeks around the corner, watching them both watch TV. Kane turns his head to look at Osprey, disappearing around the corner as he goes back to watching TV. Kasli falls fast asleep again, Kane seeing this and not surprised after the first time. He leans his head on Kasli, he ends up falling asleep soon after. It was to be expected as it was late at night, the rest of the night laying together on the couch. Sleeping peacefully for the time being.
Kane wakes up, he is still on the couch with Kasli and Oro. It was 4:57 in the morning, there under the time on his phone was a message from Nezu. All it said was "Did you enjoy the festival?". He responded, breathing out as he got comfortable on the couch again. Hours passed and he woke up again, the room still had the same eerie lighting from before. He checked the time one more time, it was 4:57. His eyes shot wide open, that's what the time said before. He gently placed Oro and Kasli on the side, they were frozen in place too.
"Did time freeze? What's happening?" He thought, standing up and clearing his vision better.
Everything was frozen, he couldn't move objects and such. Like he can't physically interact with anything. He teleported outside, the rain frozen in place and lighting stuck in time. His eyes look around, in the sky he can see. The Void Gate opened, and a giant purple typhoon filled the sky. It swirls clockwise, and the diameter stretches through the whole city. Kane can see it, see what was going on. Creatures appeared from the gate, the Void Seekers were coming.
