Chapter 20: Garrus Vakarian Pt. 1
Garrus Vakarian was at his desk at C-Sec headquarters going over files that were sent to him. This is the third day of file reading and organizing them for the councelors prosecuting Exogeni. That was boring work what got his interest; however, is what is briefly mentioned within the files is mention of a group certain executives seem to be connected to.
He sighed closing his eyes. He was nearly done just a few more files before he can send everything to the executor and go home. 'Why did I allow my father to talk me into joining c-sec?' He asked himself.
He looked over the next file and widened his eyes. It was a message from an anonymous person that simply said. Be ware the Shadow Broker has infiltrated Exogeni!
'This group is at war with the Shadow Broker.' He thought.
He quickly saved the file and sent it to the Executor before going through the last of the files before sending everything to the prosecutors. As he was getting up from his chair a message arrived to his omni tool. Be discreet. The executor messaged.
Taking it as permission Garrus made his way to a bank in the financial district. She approached a desk with a volus behind the main desk passing other desks with volus behind them with the occasional Salarian and one human working with customers or going through files. He made it to the main desk and waited for the banker to notice him. The volus looked up to see a lone turian in a C-sec uniform. "May I help you officer?" He asked in a tone that indicates that he had no interest in helping him.
"Your time is precious so I will get to the chase." Garrus started. "I am investigating Exogeni and uncovered a message from an unknown entity warning their people that a spy for the Shadow Broker has infiltrated their ranks."
The banker stares at the Turian for a couple of moments. "I will have to contact my supervisors and I will ask for you to comeback tomorrow Lt. Vakarian."
"Thank you for your time, Barla Von." Garrus said taking his leave.
Once Garrus left Barla Von went to his omni tool. "This is the Shadow Broker." A deep gargling voice said.
"Barla Von speaking, I was just visited by a c-sec officer inquiring about Cerberus." He reported.
"I'm sending you a data for you to give to the Lieutenant."
Barla Von received a ping from his omni-tool. "Only the c-sec detective is to receive it and to keep it safe until then." The Shadow Broker ordered leaving no room for argument.
"Yes sir." He said before he was hung up on.
He pulled out a data and downloaded the data into stick before placing it into a safe and setting it up so that it would open with Garrius's identification. He went back to finish his work before glossing the bank. He turned off the light and was about to leave when the door to the bank opened but no one seemed to have entered.
"Hello." Barla Von greeted confused not noticing a pair of glowing yellow eyes and the light reflecting off a short sword.
