Chapter 4: Years pass
6 years later….
It had been 6 years since Izuku left the Midoriyas. Izuku and the gang got through another day of Middle School. Later the 4 of them were on a bus back home. As Izuku tried to find a seat, he noticed a girl around his age with a bob-cut and permanent blush cheeks.
"Is this seat taken?" he asked with a smile.
"Oh no! Go ahead!" The girl said as she moved her stuff for Izuku to sit.
Izuku then took his seat by her. Izuku was trying to start a conversation but didn't exactly know how as he twiddled his thumbs, timidly.
He then tried to introduce himself to her.
"Uh... I'm Izuku Midoriya." Izuku told her.
"And my name is Ochako Uraraka," the girl known as Ochako said.
"Nice to meet you Uraraka! So uh... what's your quirk?" Izuku asked. "If uh... you mind telling me that is."
"My quirk is Zero Gravity," Ochako said, "I can make objects weightless if I touch them with all 5 of my fingers."
"That's really useful, you could be a great rescue hero with that kind of quirk!" Izuku said.
"What about your quirk?" she asked.
"Oh, I don't have one," Izuku explained, "But that's ok, because I have these."
He showed her the rings on his arms.
"They grant me with all kind of abilities, like strength and enhanced agility," Izuku said.
"That's so fascinating!" Ochako said.
Shoto and Katsuki were looking at Izuku, while smiling and nodding their heads.
"Hey Deku! Make sure you take it nice and slow before you start kissing!" Katsuki said with a chuckle.
"KACCHAN!" Izuku shouted in embarrassment, his face turning red.
The two of then laughed out loud, with Izumi joining in.
"Oh my god... I'm so sorry about them." Izuku said, hiding his face.
"And no holding hands before marriage! You know what that does!" Shoto said, laughing his ass off.
"Shoto, why?!" Izuku asked.
"Um... I'm assuming they're your friends?" Ochako asked.
"Yeah... I'm so sorry about them." Izuku said, with his face beat red.
"By the way, why did that blonde guy call you Deku? I thought your name was Izuku." She told him.
"It's this nickname he made for me, based on what my friends call me. The Defensive Izuku."
"Ohhhhhh. Well, I think it sounds kinda cute, and it suits you well!" Ochako said in a bubbly tone. "Plus, it'll make a great hero name!"
"Uhhh... DEKU IT IS!" Izuku said.
"HA! Simp." Katsuki said.
"Hey… wanna see how I train?" Izuku asked.
"I'd love to," Ochako said.
Later after getting off the bus, Izuku took Ochako to his apartment where his parents lived. He saw the two of them in their hero costumes getting changed, after doing hero work.
"Hey Mom, hey Dad," Izuku said.
"Who's your little friend?" Inko asked.
"This is Uraraka," Izuku said, "She goes to my school."
"Hi," Ochako said bowing down.
"Pleasure to meet you young lady," Toshinori said.
"So what's your quirk?" Toshinori asked.
"Oh, I can make objects weightless if I touch them with all four fingers," Ochako explained.
"That sounds interesting," Inko said, "I can attract objects towards me."
"Meanwhile I can attract, repel, AND fly," Izumi said, "Check it!"
She jumped in the air and levitated for a few seconds.
"Oh, and just so you know, my brother here is single, and ready to mingle like a pringle," Izumi said.
Izuku turned red.
"IZUMI!"
"What? I'm just saying she might be interested."
Ochako turned red and suddenly floated in the air. Inko and Toshinori chuckled. During the day, Izuku showed Ochako his rings he had and what he could do with them. She was no doubt impressed with his talent. They were also neighbors as she lived a floor above him.
As the year went on, Izuku started training for the Entrance Exams. He was doing his usual lap when he saw a beach that was covered in garbage. Suddenly he came up with an idea.
"This is gonna be good," he said.
He started by moving some of the garbage away, without the use of his rings. This was so he could build up his body strength. A few times, he asked Inko to make specific foods for him so he could have a steady diet. She didn't ask what for.
Other days, Izuku would go doing a few laps swimming in the ocean. While he was training up, he came up with a new fighting style which he dubbed Shoot Style. Due to the rings enhancing his limbs, his kicks were much stronger. He invited Ochako to train with him, to which she gradually accepted.
Later on, Izuku was on the back porch meditating.
"I am here!" All Might said as he jumped down.
"Oh hey dad, what's up?" Izuku asked.
"I have an offer for you Izuku," All Might began as he bent down, "I have chosen you to wield my quirk!"
"Wait... your quirk?" Izuku asked.
"My quirk is like a sacred torch that is passed down from person to person. With every passing it gets stronger, and gives those the power to save those in need," All Might said, "Many users have had it over 200 years ago. Your grandmother had it, I have it, and now I pick you young Midoriya to have the quirk One For All!"
"Its an honor dad, but... why would you choose me instead of Izumi to wield your quirk? She has a powerful one," Izuku said.
"Simple, because despite being quirkless, you have glorious potential as a hero," All Might said softly, "You have the golden heart of a hero, you love the work, and as your mother says, you're adorable, so you'll have a lot of fans! Besides, your sister nominated you to wield the quirk. What do you say, my boy?"
Izuku thought about it for a minute. He then turned to Toshinori with a smile on his face.
"Well, if you think I'm worthy, then alright, I accept!" Izuku said.
"Haha, that's my boy," All Might said, "Combined with those rings, you'll be a true hero through and through."
He pulled out a piece of hair.
"Eat this."
"Wait…. What?"
"Well in order to inherit my power you need my DNA, that's how it works."
"Well, down the hatch."
Izuku took the piece of hair and swallowed it, while drinking his sports drink.
"Sooooooooo what happens now?"
"Now, you just wait for it to digest. It should go through pretty soon." All Might told him.
Little did they know that Ochako was listening in on the conversation. She knew Izuku was amazing, but now…
