To Azaira: Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I know I need a name for the OC. I have two reasons for still not having it (at least till this chapter):
One: I want to reveal the name in a specific moment. I will try to do it as soon as possible.
Second: I... don't actually have a name yet XD I do have a general idea for it, but uh... dictionaries are not siding with me :P
"You all look pale." It is another morning as usual for the Time Traveler, as he locks the door of his current dorm room and starts heading to the academy. Midway down the stairs, he sees his 'neighbors' looking all afraid of something. He normally greets them with a hi before addressing the matter.
"Of course you don't." One of them replies back sarcastically.
"We just got through the midterm exam, or you have already forgotten it?" Another questions him back.
"...Right, they posted everyone's result upfront. Sorry for bringing that up." He facepalms, now remembering how school works and things that he hates. "...And I remember that you said you didn't do that good."
"Terrible." The duo in front of him speak at the same time.
"Well, it's water under the bridge now. Just try studying for the next test… or it might be your last."
"Don't scare us like that!" To his amusement, both jump up in fear in response to his warning.
After that, they trade words about more pleasant daily stuff during their way to the school. Once they spot their own groups, they bid others goodbye and head to their respective ways.
"You are in the top five." To save her friend's time from having to push/shove other students to check the result board, Moka has checked both of their results and made her way out of the line of students. She's placed seventh. "Your name's the only one not in Japanese."
"Well that's the whole purpose." He chuckles, then looks around to see where the blue-haired girl could be. "Have you seen Kurumu?"
"Probably wailing somewhere. Your teaching doesn't get into her brain apparently." Before the two meet up, the vampiress has seen the succubus complaining about her bad results.
"...It could be worse if I didn't help. And I did warn her that I'm not that good at teaching." The 'disguised' human notices many students sending him glares of jealousy. "Jeez, it's already after midterm and they're still not over it?"
"With how average you look contradicting your intelligence and smooth talk?" The vampiress mocks though she does pull him closer to her, earning him more envious stares.
"Now that's harsh, Moka."
The two then notice a nearby commotion with some of the students also catching on and quickly gathering around the area. After getting through some of them, both can see what the commotion is about: an ten/eleven-year-old girl dressing like a witch being berated by three other students, presuming her own classmates with one of them being a Class Representative. When the conversation gets a little heated up, the duo quickly make their ways through the crowd, and when they're on the front, they see some rocks thrown from behind to the bully trio's heads, startling them for a moment.
The duo immediately sense a small raise of youkai energy from the Class Representative. Both are adaptive at fighting, so they recognize him about to attack the witch. Moka instantly runs forward and stands between the shocked girl and her classmate, causing the latter to stop his swing midway.
"Get out of the way. This is none of your business."
"You are really pathetic to use violence against a fragile student, let alone a girl. Pick someone your size to fight." The vampiress has one of her arms holding before the younger girl, while the other hand prepares to deflect incoming attacks.
Though it's not necessary when the crowd gets louder, and the Representative knows it would cause troubles if he pushes further. He grunts and gestures to his group to leave, but not after sending a glare towards the young witch.
"They will harass her again, that's a guarantee." After the confrontation is over and everyone walks away, the Time Jumper warns the duo. "The class is starting soon, so we better head to our room. They wouldn't dare doing anything while people are around. We can talk later, Yukari."
The vampiress nods and says her goodbye to the witch as the two head to the school building. Unknown to the vampiress, she just increases the girl's admiration towards her.
…
"Thank you for saving me this morning!" The genius girl approaches their table and bows down to express her gratitude. It's still lunchtime and Moka's group has just finished their main dishes.
"It was nothing." Moka accepts it. "I hate those guys who think they're above all when they aren't."
"Isn't that the case with the vampires?" Her 'boyfriend' whispers, just loud enough for the group to hear.
"Well, they have the pass anyway since they ARE on top of the chain." Kurumu snickers when she sees the vampiress slightly blushes up.
"I'm not that arrogant. Not after that." Coughing once, she tries deflecting the matter.
"I have always looked up to you ever since I saw you. Your flawless appearance, your beautiful voice, and your great strength…" Yukari's dreamy speech draws their attention. To the older girls' surprise, the witch's hands start groping Moka's chest and fondling them to the vampiress' uncomfortableness. "I WUVVV YOU! PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME!"
The only male in the group gives out the smallest smile possible, though in his mind he's laughing out loud, seeing the redness on Moka's face as she's trying her best not to burst out in embarrassment. Kurumu also starts to snicker after getting out of the first shock.
The witch does notice the girl's expression, yet her hands never leave. "Is it bad dating someone like me?"
"That's… not the issue…"
"I'M SO HAPPY!" Moka can't finish her words before the little girl starts molesting her again…
Before she's lifted up and back away from her by the vampiress' male friend. "Alright, that's enough. While I like watching yuri scenes, you are making her feel uneasy."
"Hey! Let go!" The witch flails her arms wildly trying to get out of his grip, though she doesn't need to because he just drops her on her feet when she's not too close to Moka. "Don't stand between me and my love!"
"The way you just expressed your feelings to her is not appropriate." He simply replies as he returns back to his seat, ignoring her glare. He pulls out his phone…
"She shouldn't go out with an ugly guy like you."
The succubus' eyes widen in shock after hearing that and she turns to her Destined One to check how he would react to that insult. To her surprise again, he doesn't do anything… he just freezes right there. He doesn't even blink once.
"That's not a nice thing to say, Yukari." Moka immediately sends her a hardened glare without turning to the boy, causing the witch to slightly back away in fear. "He might not look good, but he's better than those who's all looks and no brains."
"That's not the point! He stopped me from having my time with you!" The witch knows it, but seeing the boy being close to her idol slightly boils her blood. "...I will make sure he won't interrupt my time with you!" And with that, the young girl runs away, plotting against the Time Traveler.
"...She needs to behave herself." The vampiress shakes her head once then notices how the succubus stares at their friend. She turns to see her savior sitting still. "...You know she's just a kid, genius or not. Her words shouldn't…"
"I know." His words interrupt her, and he uses his free hand to rub his eyes. "Still, 'ugly' is a bit harsh. I'm self-aware that I'm not handsome, but I'm not that far gone, am I not?"
"...And you said you don't care about appearances." Moka has to stifle a laugh as she pats the boy's shoulder. "I will talk with her about this matter. You don't need to do anything."
"...I doubt things are that easy." Knowing his luck, the Time Jumper will have to almost repeat everything with changes here and there.
"Speaking of, do you know about the witch's relationship with both humans and youkai?" Kurumu changes the subject.
"I did… and she's suffering from it." Returning back to his usual self, the 'human' starts looking through the phone screen. "She needs to see that not everything or everyone is against her."
"Good on paper. But what's the actual plan?"
"Improvision, Kurumu." He says that, but he's certain one moment that could get him the result. "Time will tell us when it comes by itself."
Two days later
"Whatever your plan is, you should use it now." The succubus warns as she and her Destined One are doing preparations for the next newspaper to be printed. Moka has excused herself out for a small breather, while Gin is nowhere to be seen again, presumingly somewhere hidden to take pics of girls. "While the girl's pranks don't seem to do damage to you, it's getting worse. She doesn't seem to care who's in the crossfire either."
"Those situations won't warrant any solid results. We need some serious pushes." Fixing the position of a letter, he replies. "We aren't the exact problems here. There will be a time that being alone will cause her something dear."
"...Call me pessimistic, but are you planning to wait for her to face fatal situations? That's… not like you." Kurumu lowers her tone, hoping it's not the case.
"You haven't known me for a long time. In fact, no one here does. I have my own devil that I prefer not to unleash, but I will if that's what it takes."
"...I hope it's just philosophical."
"Of course it is." She blushes when her Destined One flashes a cheeky smile to her. "I'm not a fearsome Youkai, just your regular student in a school."
"...Now you said it, I never saw you in your real form. Can you…"
"Not in school. Some other days." His lips curl up to a smile of teasing.
"Mu…" The girl pouts, trying to get him opening up, only for him to giggle and return back to his work. Dejected, the girl returns back to her work…
"Have you waited too long?"
"Not really Moka." The boy replies back as the vampiress returns back to the club. "Did something happen?"
"Nothing. I just feel like something's missing…"
"HOW IS THE DOLL NOT WORKING!?"
The girl duo turns to the window of the classroom to see an angry witch with a straw doll in her hand, on the front of it is an attached paper with the male student's name on it.
"When you know what you are dealing with, victory is almost guaranteed on your side." The Time Jumper already knew she was there since the beginning, so he's not reacting to her outburst and just focuses on making the newspaper. "You should stop doing the pranks, Yukari. Most of the receivers don't really deserve them."
"THEY DO! Both human and youkai! They treat us witches like trash!"
"Because you solidify their prejudices by your own actions." Putting down his pen, he now turns his full attention to the girl who's about to tear up in anger. "Instead of continuing your current route to release your pent-up feelings, take a moment to think of a better solution. You are a genius, I'm sure you already have the plans in your mind. What's stopping you from performing them is your ego."
The two older girls wait in silence to see what could happen next. They hope that this is the final point for the young witch to realize that the boy has clear intentions to help her get over her fear. After all, witches are…
"It would also help you make friends with…"
"YOU UNDERSTAND NOTHING!"
To their shock, nearby chairs and tables float up and immediately slam into the boy, the hits create enough force to push the two away. Meanwhile, Yukari tears up and runs away, not caring about her hat falling off her head.
"...Picked the wrong words at the last moment. Or it's better to just shut up." When the girls look up, they see the boy pushing away the furniture and standing up, and they see a clear blood streak coming from his head down across his left eye. "Did you girls see where she ran off?"
"...We got caught off guard with the flying desks." Moka immediately goes and checks his head to see a clear wound that still bleeds. She's tempted to lick the blood, but the situation snaps her out of her own daze. "You need medical attention now. This is serious…"
"Not as important as saving Yukari. Those pricks have been following her moves since the result day." He cuts her words off as he jumps through the window and picks up the witch's hat. He then 'sees' if there are any footprints around. "We should catch up with her now…"
"Shouldn't you just stay back and let us deal with it?" The succubus is definitely worried about the wound on her Destined One. "Even if Yukari's classmates attack her, Moka would be able to…"
"It would be pointless. She needs to understand that I was never against her being near Moka. Just want her to consider Moka's feelings when she molests her though." The boy shakes his head with a smile, then starts heading to the direction he 'sees' the witch is at.
"...That wound is self-inflicted." The vampiress now understands why he's not surprised at the bloodstream. "We still need to back him up if needed."
…
The Time Jumper arrives just in time when Yukari's class representative, who now is in his Youkai which is a reptile, is about to bite her head off. He notices that there's a rock right before his feet, so he instantly kicks it to the youkai's left temple, knocking him out of the witch. That alerts his friends who are also reptiles to turn to the attacker who just fixes the hat so he can return it to the girl.
The 'leader' regains his composure and glares at the 'human' angrily and notices the blood on his face. "You… you are the one with that vampire… planning to play hero while being injured? You got a dead wish or what?"
'Was… was it from my attack earlier?' The witch can see the 'wound' being quite serious if the size of the blood line can say anything. "Please just run away! They will eat you alive! Just forget about me!"
"All of that is not going to happen." Yukari stares in shock as the boy wipes the blood over his eye so he can 'see' properly. "If you think your little pranks could push me away from you, it means that you still need to learn a lot about how the world works." During the talk, he starts walking closer, causing the reptiles to start opening their mouths and show off their claws to scare him to no avail. "It's really tough being alone, especially when you know or hope that there are people who are willing to talk to you."
One of the reptiles swings his right claw towards the injured student, only to miss as he ducks below the attack while continuing his pace.
"Embrace the fact that you are a witch and be proud of it. Don't hesitate to ask for help when you're in trouble. Change people's opinions about you by being positive."
Another one tries to bite him, and a palm strike to the chin closes the mouth and breaks a couple of teeth and also knocks the reptile out. The leader one is about to shout the one behind the Time Jumper to attack, but Moka appears and kicks the backstabber away, possibly breaking some ribs.
"I have learnt to listen to silent cries of help, curses towards the unfairness of the world. It's time for you to finally voice out your frustration and desperation, Yukari."
Once the injured boy's head is close enough, the last conscious of the trio opens his mouth wide and tries to bite down, only to receive a kick to the face from the just arrived succubus, knocking him out of the way, and he's finished by another one to the same spot by the silver-haired girl.
"There are more people like us who don't care about others' backgrounds and always give others a chance to prove themselves." Dusting off the hat, the boy places it on the witch's head. "It's time to stop acting tough. It's fine relying on others once a while."
"...After everything I have done to you, you still accept me?" The witch's face is covered by the hat, but all can see her body shaking up. "That wound…"
"Is nothing, compared to your pain. Just don't do that again. To me, if you are not evil, then you are my friend."
To none of the trio's surprise, the young girl starts crying loudly, letting out all of the feelings she's holding back till this point. The only boy of the group starts patting the girl on her head to show his current affection to her, while the older girls start hugging the young witch in order to show that they also accept her as well. After a while, he makes a signal to the other girls that he needs to head back to treat the 'wound', they nod and he quietly walks away without making any sounds.
'And Moka said that I won't need the clinic. Well, she's technically correct. Still, I need to make sure I treat it in the clinic in order to not raise suspicions…'
…
A week later
"I WUVV YOU!"
'Of course it happens.' The Time Jumper rolls his eyes in his mind while fate is laughing at him again. And it's also at the same time Moka and Kurumu walk into the club room with some item boxes.
"Yukari? Why are you here?" The vampiress has to question immediately upon seeing how the young witch is now hugging the person she injured before.
"Ah, Moka! I also joined the Newspaper Club!" The young genius replies. "I will be under your care!" She then starts day-dreaming: "I love him just as much as I love Moka. Being in the club will ensure that I can be with both all the time!"
What happens next is just him being the 'price' for the tug-of-war between the witch and the succubus, while the vampiress just stays out of it while giggling sympathetically at his misfortune. Though she adds fuel to the fire when she walks up and bites him, 'officially' claiming her territory, causing the blue-haired girl to shout in anger and jealous while the witch starts calling wash tubs and dropping them on the succubus' head.
Another day at the…
"Suspicion of a human infiltrating the Academy, Keito?"
"That is correct, sir. There were some small scents since the start of the year, but it might just be someone's items that gazed past the human while being in the Outside World. However, there were heavy traces in the clinic a few days ago."
"Have you found anyone that might be the intruder?"
"I believe I do *Sounds of someone giving a package to another*."
"*Sounds of page flippings* This one… Are you sure? I heard some rumors about him, and those didn't support him as one."
"He is never seen in any forms other than his human form. And those rumors have no immediate witnesses either. He's also participating in the Newspaper Club too."
"...That rubbish club? Perfect. Two problems in one strike. They need to be taught another lesson again… Now that we think about it, the name doesn't sound real either… It will add more to his crime list."
