Trouble on a trip part 1

3rd POV:

Saito was really looking forward to this trip. The entire gang was really interested to see his home town of Neo Edo. However the entire group were the most excited, Tiffania especially. The entire gang were on a train headed for the city as they looked out the windows.

"why haven't you told us you've got this form of transportation saito?" Montmorency asked.

"Yeah it would have been easier to give us on of those advanced vehicles to go home!" Malincorne added.

"Well the mountains are very difficult terrain to navigate to begin with, and the modern vehicles aren't designed for the mountains, so we have to use carts and horses." Saito answered.

"sounds logical, mountain roads are really difficult for any large wagons." Kirche said observant.

"That's one way to put it." Saito said as he started to hand out bentos to the gang. As they dig into the food Tiffania was beaming with delight.

"Delicious isn't it?" Siesta asked the elf who nodded.

"I've only heard of these bentos but this is the first time I've even tried something like it." Tiffania said eyes beaming. Saito looked at his friends as they eat their bentos. He knew tiffania was new to all of this and the others are experienced in the food, but they have never been to Neo edo before.

"saito I've just noticed something." Reynald began, everyone looked at reynald to see what he was planning to say.

"I began to notice that some if the materials including some of seat use velvet which is quite common for nobles in the 4 kingdoms, did we really had no contact till recently?" Reynald's question got everyone's gaze turned to Saito who seemed to understand the situation.

"We've became aware about the four kingdoms a little over four centuries ago. But we we've been busy with our internal problems so we don't have any time for foreign relations. But we did send spies and kept watch near the mountains." Saito answered. everyone wasn't satisfied with the answer till saito continued.

"However there have been records of people from the four countries fleeing to our country for various reasons, most of them were farmers, bakers, artisans, heck we've even save a group of tailor who were fleeing a from a noble who loved killing any tailors who didn't satisfy his taste about two hundred years ago." Sait added. everyone began to realize what he was talking about.

"If it were commoners fleeing corrupt nobles I can understand." Malincorne said.

"It sounds very plausible." Colbert said nodding to the answer.

"why didn't you turn them away?" Tabitha asked.

"Hey none of them wished to return, besides, you guys aren't even aware of us." Saito explained.

"He's right. Heck I didn't even know you existed till half a year ago." Louise said.

"And you met him while you were lost Louise." Tiffania said smiling.

"I won't deny that." Louise said looking away pouting. Saito smiled at his lover knowing that she's too shy to admit it. just then Sylphid shouted something out.

"AH Towers!" She yelled looking at the windows, and just as the entire group looked out they could see the towers of the City of Neo edo touching the sky.

"Incredible!" Colbert said in amazement.

"That should be imposible." Gimli added.

"Amazing." Siesta said. Everyone apart from saito Knew about the city sky scrapers that go as high as about more than a hundred floors, but their reaction was genuinely amazing to see, not only that the sight of the towers were something to behold. Sometime later the entire group arrived at the city, once they got out they saw the hustle and bustle of the entire city as people go around their business. Not only that there was a huge set of fashion around the area. Some people wore trousers and shirts and jackets while others go for the traditional kimonos and Yukatas.

"Wow! This is amaxzing!" Tiffania said in amazement, everyone in the group were as equally amazed by the size of the buildings and the number of people living in it. As they walked around the city they started to notice the difference between life in the castle and the city itself.

"Wow! So this is the cultural and technological hub of the country?" Colbert said in amazement as he saw the machines and devices the people are holding.

"That's right sensei, let's get going to the hotel!" saito said, and everyone followed him to the hotel that's smack dab near the city center. As they were checking in Saito showed his badge as an imperial delegate the clerk immediately smiled.

"[oh and the rooms must be connected and keep the boys and girls separate, also no suits]" saito told the clerk.

"Wakarishimashita" the clerk said preparing the keys. With that the entire group went to find their rooms, as soon as they arrived the got four rooms connected to each other.

"the girls will take these two rooms while we guys take these two over here. Rest your legs before we go to dinner." Saito informed the group. The girls went to their room and talked about what to do in the city together. Siesta was really into trying out the different shops and restaurants to see what the food is like, but she also whispered to louise about getting something naughty for the two of them to perk up saito causing her to blushing and start scolding her despite the confusion of Tiffania. The other 4 girls looked through the connection door and could only guess what's going on. Two hours later they all went to get dinner at a local yet simple family restaurant. The food was great but they also came to discus some of their plans for the entire trip.

"I kind of want to see the scientific marvels they've got going on her." Colbert began.

"You Jean are a real scholar you know that?" Kirche teased.

"How can I not?" Colbert retorted with a smile.

"Well the science museum can be something you would be interested in." Saito said

"What about cultural areas?" Tiffania asked.

"Are there any beautifull gardens here?" Louise added.

"Calm down you two! Yes we have museums and places meant for that. Plus there are some very beautiful gardens here so we can visit them to." Saito explained.

"That would be nice!" Montmorency said smiling.

"You really love gardens don't you Montmorency?" Guiche asked.

"They must have herbs that could be used for potions." Montmorency said smiling.

"oh don't get me started on wolfs bane. I still have nightmares from Agness suffering" Malinecorne informed.

"I would love to see the imperial palace. You and the emperor are really close right?" Tabitha asked

"He was my senpai in my school days." Saito said with an embarrassed look.

"You know I would love to learn about my grandfather's history and see if I have any relatives here." Siesta said in a mild tone.

"who knows, we may get a hint." Saito told the maid. Everyone ate their dinner as they enjoyed their company together. The next day they visited the science museum and Professor Colbert was really intrigued by the amount of knowledge there was, some were common to him while others are brand new.

"So this is a chart of how alchemy should be." Colbert said as he looked at a table of elements.

"He's like a kid isn't he?" Saito said observant.

"yeah he is." Louise said dumbfounded.

"But it really cute to see him like that." Kirche said smiling. The science museum wasn't the only place they've visited. At the Imperial palace saito had special entry, but he had to tell the guards that the entire group he's with are with him. It was a bit of a hassle but he managed to go through.

"Security is very strict here." Guich commented.

"Had to. Government buildings especially the imperial palace are restriced to almost all unless you have a special pass. Even some politicians need special permit to see his imperial majesty." Saito answered as they toured around the place. They were really impressed with the architecture and the history behind the building, heck there was even a shrine dedicated to a sacred sword housed in there. Saito walked into the shrine and payed his respects to the sacred blade.

"What's so significant about the blade?" Louise asked in a whisper.

"Legend has it that this blade was forged by the gods." Saito explained.

"My that sounds very religious doesn't it?" Louise whispered.

"I know." Saito added. sometime later emperor Minato invited them for dinner, although it wasn't a grand feast like it was with the banquets back in the Tristian kingdom, the food however was very high quality. From seared high quality beef to sashimi of the best fish caught, including an stew made with deep fried monkfish. But desert much to their surprise was actually a combination of Tristian sweets and traditional rising sun.

"The one in charge of the deserts had a grandfather that was a baker in one of the kingdoms of your territories, something about a persecution." Minato explained.

"And he came here and had a family and the grandson wants to follow in his grandfather's footsteps?" Tabitha asked.

"That and I've scouted him out myself when I was still in elementary school." Minato said smiling. Despite being the emperor of a country, everyone apart from Saito were so surprised to see how casual he was and how he treated everyone even commoners as equals.

The next day they visited a huge garden park nearby, the sheer volume in size paled in comparison to the Shiroyama castle garden they were used to seeing but it was still beautiful sight to see.

"This place feels very tranquil doesn't it?" Tiffania said as she walked on a bridge.

"It feels quite natural compared to our gardens." Montmorency said.

"Of course we use skilled gardeners to trim our hedges into unnatural shapes and plant flowers in various designated areas. But here the only thing they did was trim off any dead branches and place things natuarly" Guiche observed.

"If I'm correct then then you must have thought of every possible thing which could be the right place for the plant right?" Colbert asked.

"It's a bit complicated but the most important feature is water, because with water, there won't be life." Saito informed.

"My this is so cute." Kirche said as she looked at a bonsai tree.

"It's really something." Gimli said looking around.

"I somehow feel at peace." Tabitha said as she sat in a resting area.

"Uh saito what's going on with that woman?" Siesta asked, Saito looked at a certain couple and the woman shook her head and hair as she sprang out her ears, tail, and her short coat of fur, with that Saito realized what she was.

"Nothing to worry about she's a bake-danuki." Saito answered.

"A what?" siesta asked in confusion.

"one of the sub races?" Malinecorne asked out of nowhere.

"You could say that!" saito answered.

"Hold up Saito aren't these Yokai considered myths?" Colbert asked as he looked confused.

"Not all Sensei." Saito answered before explaining. He told everyone that there were some truths in the yokai legend of the how they were connected with the Demi's and their rare traits and how in the past they were often persecuted or treated as dieties in ancient times. He also told them about modern demis along with rules and regulations.

"So they are taught to rarely show their true forms in public?" Tabitha asked.

"there are still jerks who give them a hard time to the point of harassment, worst case is murder, it's mainly to protect them but there places where they can show their true forms, and we do our best to prevent any form of prejudice manners." Saito explained

"I understand from their point of view." Tiffania admitted as she remembered her early days. She was nearly persecuted for being an elf but due to the intervention of Louise and Henrietta she showed that even elves can be kind folk. It's just the long hatred and discrimination that kept them from being friends. As they continued to walk through the garden they saw a zen rock garden, some monks at a meditation area, and the koi fish that swim and splash around in the water. Sylphid really liked the Koi fish and even wondered if she could eat them. The gang had to pull her away and tell her no as they weren't meant to be eaten. Louise and Montmorency joined in a tea ceremony that was happening in the garden and they really enjoyed it. Seeing traditional Macha tea made in a tradition manner made the experience even more, Montmorency on the other hand thought that she could make better potions if she could learn how to do it like this. The four knight enjoyed the tranquil scenery and even saw some people doing some exercises in a nearby open field. Colbert really enjoyed the Zen sand area as it feels really calming for him, as if all the stress went away. Tiffania loved every plant and tree that was in the area and even loved the pagoda that stood in the middle of the garden. Sometime later they went to a crepe shop that was considered popular with the youth, especially the girls. Saito gave louise hers as the other got theirs. Of course they forgot to use their translation spells but it didn't matter for them right now since they are enjoying a nice set of sweets.

"HMM this is heavenly!" Kirche said in a blissful tone.

"this is really exquisite!" tiffania said with a smile.

"HMM! This is really delicious." Louise said in a gleefull tone.

"I can taste the cream and the fruits really well!" Siesta said with a mouthful.

"Yummy!" Montmorency said inbetween bites.

"it's a real treat this is." Tabitha said in a soft tone, while sylphis was taking in two at once. The boys meanwhile watched on with smiles seeing the girls with smiles plastered on their faces enjoying some sweet crepes.

"no matter what country you're from, girls sure love their sweets." Saito said as he leaned on a pole. Guiche and the other knights smiled seeing the girls immediately nodding in agreement.

"It's really cute to see such a thing." Guiche said smiling.

"Now boys don't get too carried away alright!" Colbert said in a stern voice, his smile didn't match his tone but at least he's happy to see his former students enjoying themselves. Just then a shriek was heard, everyone turned to see a young woman getting robbed by a street thug.

"That's the main problem with a high density city, crime everywhere." Saito explained. Just then the thug got what he was stealing and ran after he hit the woman.

"Knights get him!" Guiche shouted, and the four knight s took off after him. Saito saw this and went another way. The girls looked at the boy with a questioning look as if they are stupid.

"Sometimes boys can be stupid can they?" Kirche said, the other girls apart from Tiffania nodded in unison. Colbert however just sighed in disbelief while still smiling. However the boys are still hot on the crooks tail, the boys ran as if they were in a huge hurry.

"Stop!" Guiche shouted.

"You won't get away!" Malincorne yelled. The crook ran into an alley way and the boys followed. The thug threw in all kinds of obstacles inorder to throw them off. From dumping trash bins to tipping ladders and throwing pipes and debris, I did slow the four knight for a little bit but it didn't stop them from trying to get him. As soon as the thug got out of alley way he turned left but was met with swift kick to the chest pushing him back and letting him go of the purse he stole, but the purse was soon caught by the man in front of the thief . the one who stood in front of him was Saito holding a three foot long pipe and was staring him down. This combined with the fact Saito liberated the purse from him made the thug angry and draw a knife.

"[you bastard! You think you could take me on!]" the thugs shouted as he charged. However Saito immediately disarmed him by whacking the knife out of his hand and swept the leg with the pipe. He twirled the pipe and slamed it into his torso knocking the wind out of him. The other boys caught up and saw what Saito did.

"Nice flanking." Gimli said breathing heavily.

"What took you so long?" saito teased. A few minutes later the authorities came and arrested the crook. As it turns out he was an opium addict and needed some quick cash in order to get a dosage. But he got caught red handed and was charge with multiple charges including assault, destruction of property, and drug usage along with theft. Saito gave their testimonies and translated for the knights. The woman who was robbed even thanked them for their help.

"[no need to thank us… It was a coincidence we just happened to be at the right place.]" Saito said.

"[but still thank you.]" with that the woman went on her way and left the group there.

"What will happen to the thief?" Tiffania asked.

"He going to be thrown in jail and serve a good amount of time, plus they're going to detox him, give him therapy and hopefully he'll come out a sober man after his punishment." Saito answerd.

"Isn't a bit too lenient?" Louise asked.

"It's different around here." Saito answered. what he didn't noticed was that among the cops a female detective came to see the commotion and saw Saito with gang.

"[Ara, could it be?]" She asked herself and walked up to Saito.

"[excuse me!]" She called, Saito turned to see who it was and got really surprised to see who the person was.

"[Eh! NEE-SAN?!]" Saito shouted in surprise.

"[I knew it was you Saito kun.]" Hikari, Saito's older sister who is a detective was both happy and surprised to see saito with an unusual crowd.

"[what's up with this unusual crowd you're with?]" Hikari questioned.

"[oh these my friends Hikari Nee.]" saito answered.

"[I see.]" Hikari said examining the group. The gang were nervous to see an older woman talking very friendly with saito, is she a relative?

"Um saito, who is she?" Louise asked in a suspicious tone.

"Oh let me introduce her… this is Toriyama Hikari… my older sister." Saito said.

"Older-" louise began.

"sister?" Siesta finished.

"haaaaaah?!" the teens shouted in surprise.

"so saito has a sister?" Tiffania asked.

"Not only that, she looks young!" Kirche added.

"who would have thought!" Malincorne said in shock.

"Hey that's rude!" Saito shouted before turning to Hikari.

"[Sorry for the little commotion you had to see here sis.]" Saito told Hikari.

"[it's ok you don't have to worry about it.]" Hikari said waving her hand, just then her eyes land on louise who noticed Hikari looking at her. Louise tensed up as Hikari got closer to her. Hikari Loomed over Louise as if she was judging her.

"[so this is the pink haired girl you mentioned huh?]" Hikari asked still looking at Louise who shivered in fear by the intense look in her eyes.

"[hai]" saito answered. just then Hikari smile a huge smile, Louise looked confused by this, next thing she knew she was smothered in a hug.

"[she's such a cutie! Where did you get a Sakura blossom Saito kun!]" Hikari shouted with glee. Every sweat dropped at the scene in front of them, Saito even more so with an embarrassed look on his face as he laughed nervously. After a good minute of cuddling Hikari released Louise from her embrace and looked serious to Saito.

"[oh yeah that reminds me… Saito you're a Samurai right?]" Hikari asked rhetorically.

"[you've just realized I just became Daimyo a few months ago right?]" saito retorted.

"[Even better, because there is something I need your help with.]" Hikari asked.

"[What is it?]" Saito asked. The entire gang looked at the intensity as they waited for her what she was about to say. Immediately Colbert used a translation spell just to see what Hikari was about to say. But before he could cast it, hikari answered.

"[I'm investigating a group of human trafficers, and I'm in desperate need of help]"

Hikari: so we're ending it in a cliff hanger eh?

Me: I forgot to mention that this is part one, but I did put it up in the title!

Kirche: now this is going to get interesting!

Tabitha: can you end the second one on a comical note?

Me: I have a few Ideas but you have to wait till I write it down.
