This is it, the final chapter. This will mark the end of this fanfic and my what a rides it's been. We are going to be doing a time skip for this last chapter so I hope you enjoy.

Ch 24: Five Years Later

The forest lay quiet, rain had occurred overnight so the land was wet and fogged over with the cold rain hitting the warm ground. It's been a while since they had rain so it was much needed. The grass was still a little damp but at least it had cooled off. As the morning sun was rising, so were demons waking up to the land. A family in particular, was one of Lord Alastor.

Over the past five years, things have happened and changed. It was crazy to believe. Elena had grown into a find young adult wolf. Well, she looked like a wolf but had deer antlers spreading on top of her head, but they were small, way smaller than Alastor's. Her true colors showed as she grew up. Also forming some powers thanks to Alastor. They weren't much or powerful but she learned to control them. She looked up to her father, always saying she wanted to be like him. As she got older, she realized she had other goals in mind. She didn't want to take over Alastor's land, it just wasn't something she wanted to do. She was still a daddy's girl though; she loved her father and she would do what she could.

Besides Elean growing up, they had a new addition to the family as well. Alastor Jr, or AJ for short, was three years younger than Elena. The family struggled during the three-year gap with mating seasons. Heart lost pups two years in a row, then she didn't feel like trying at all afterwards the next year. She was afraid. Although Alastor did manage to convince his mate despite her fear and worry. With that came AJ. He was different, but not in a bad way of course. He looked like a dragon even though he wasn't born from an egg. He was a black dragon with the looks of a deer. He had deer ears and was a bit fluffy. His tail was shorter than a dragons was and he had dragon horns and wings. He was more of a hassle than Elena was, especially since his powers showed more than Elena's did.

The small family was not successful the last two years of the mating season. Heart didn't become pregnant, but that was ok since they wanted to focus on the two children they had right now. They were happy and as the two got older it was something that amazed the two older demons. They know that their kids would want their own lives, but of course that might come sooner than they think.

Suitors were coming for Elena, asking her to be their mate but she found no interest. She didn't want any of them and turned them all down. Although part of that was probably because Alastor may have scared them away as well. Since Elena was coming of age it was that time for her to start thinking about these things and it was something she was not looking forward to. She didn't want any of the demons that wanted her…her heart was…elsewhere.

The first to wake up that morning was Alastor, as always. He wanted to get his usual walk out of the way. He stood up and shook his pelt to flatten it, he looked down at Heart who was still fast asleep. He smiled and leaned down to lick her head for a few kisses. He went to check on the pups. The two holes in the walls showed where they were and they were both fast asleep still. The deer smiled and headed out of the den.

Soon after Alastor left, Heart was next to wake up and AJ had woken up as well. The small dragon pup strutted out of his spot and stretched with a yawn. His wings flapped for a moment to make sure they wouldn't cramp.

Heart was stretching and spotted the little one. "Good morning, AJ."

"Morning mama." AJ went over to his mother and nuzzled against her.

The hybrid smiled and leaned down to nuzzle the boy. "I hope you slept well."

"Fantastic. I might head out if that is, ok?" He asked. "I have some more things I need to study."

"Not on your own, boy. You still need an escort." Heart told him sternly.

AJ huffed, not happy that he wasn't old enough yet to be on his own. "Fine."

"Come with me, I get to go see Grandma Dorothy today. I'm sure she'd be happy to see you." Heart told him with a smile.

The dragon rolled his eyes but sighed with a shrug. "I guess I'll go. I like going to see grandma." He told her.

"Wonderful, now for your sister." Heart said and walked up to the hole that belonged to Elena and saw the young wolf asleep on her bedding. She was sleeping on her back with her front paws up in the air. "Elena. Elena, wake up dear."

The young wolf didn't budge and snored away.

The older hybrid sighed and went inside and up to her daughter. She put a paw on the girl's side and started to move her. "Elena, get up." She said a little louder.

The older pup woke up with that. Her eyes blinked open and gave a long yawn. "I'm up. I'm up." She rolled onto her side.

"You need to stop staying out so late." Heart said to her sternly. "I know you stay out and come home in the middle of the night."

Elena rolled her eyes. "Only the last few nights. Don't worry, I'll stop. I didn't mean to stay out late." She told her mom as she stood up and shook her fur.

"Well don't let it happen again." Heart said and cleared her throat. "Now, let's go. Grandma is expecting me."

The two pups followed behind their mother as they headed on their way towards the mountains. AJ has a book on his back that he used to study and write things in. He was observing everything he saw. Elena was half asleep while walking but something caught her eye a moment and she put her head up. Her tail wagged as she thought she saw a pair of red eyes but they seemed to quickly disappear as soon as they appeared. She pushed it aside and continued to walk.

Along the way they ran into Veronica, who was at the bottom of the mountain. "Good morning!" She greeted them with a wag of her tail.

"Morning Veronica, hope all is well?" Heart asked the small fox.

"It's been wonderful. I hope your morning is good." The vixen wondered.

"It's been fine so far. Is my mom waiting up there for me?" She asked.

The arctic fox nodded. "Yes, she is. She arrived not long ago so you have good timing."

"Thank you. I'll talk to you when we're done, ok?" Heart told her and patted her friend's head with a paw.

The fox gave a happy yip and darted off for now. Heart and the two pups walked up the mountain and when they got to the meeting spot, Dorothy was there waiting for them. The dragon was sitting and waiting for them, her tail wrapped around her front talons as she just enjoyed the small breeze. When she spotted them, her smile went wide. "Ah there are the wonderful little hatchlings!" The dragon said happily and stood up.

"Hello grandma Dorothy." Both the pups spoke together in a happy tone. They both honestly did enjoy going to see their grandma's, both of them. So, getting to see them every time their mom would meet them, made them happy.

The female dragon went up to the smaller hybrids and nuzzled both of them. "My goodness it's only been a month and I feel you both have grown."

"I haven't gotten any taller." Elena said.

"The only thing that's grown is Elena's rebelliousness." AJ said silently.

Elena turned to her brother and growled.

"Now now, none of that." Heart interrupted. "No fighting. Not now."

Elena huffed and sat down while AJ just took out his book and started to read it. Heart sighed and then turned to her mother. "Hope you are doing well mom?"

"Fantastic dear. Honestly it's not bad for being the new mate of the Lord." She chuckled.

Heart's eyes went wide at that. "Wait….what? You…you and Molten? Actually…" She couldn't even finish her sentence.

Dorothy chuckled. "Yes…as much as I loved Alpha, I still do, but…Molten taught me how to love again. I wasn't afraid to love another." She smiled. "I actually have an egg I'll be laying soon. I can feel it…it just takes a few days."

"Congrats mom. I'm happy for you." She wagged her tail and smiled wide. "I'll have a brother." She said excitedly.

The dragon chuckled. "You will. I'm honestly the happiest I've been in a while."

Heart went over and nuzzled her mom. The dragon leaned her head down and nuzzled the wolf's side. As the two were talking, Elena was dozing off. Although it seems something caught her eye again, it couldn't be her imagination. She saw something sliding in the corner of her eye. It wasn't the same as before though so her curiosity got the better of her. She tilted her head and started to walk over to where she saw the shape. Heart was talking to her mom and AJ was too engrossed in his book to even pay attention.

Soon enough something appeared out from behind one of the boulders. Not something, someone. Actually, it was two figures. Each of them was a giant wolf, just a bit bigger than herself. Both of them had black fur but one had a touch of white on their chest. The left one had blue eyes while the other had green. When they made themselves known, Elena's ears went back and she stared at them.

"Are you Elena?" The one asked.

"Daughter of Lord Alastor?" The other added.

"I-I am…why do you ask?" The young girl wondered as she tried to pull herself back up straight.

"We are from a wolf pack from further north." The wolf with the white on his chest told her. "I am Narook. This is my brother, Sarook." He gestured to the wolf next to him. "We are in search of a mate and heard about the powerful Alastor having a daughter."

"We want you as our own. Of course, only one of us can have you as a mate. So, I have a proposition for you." The all black one, Sarook, said.

Elena sighed. "I'm sorry, I will have to decline. I am not looking for a mate."

"But you must accept." Narook snapped.

"My brother and I will fight for your affection." Sarook explained. "Whoever the winner is will be your mate and we will kill the loser."

The red wolf looked annoyed at them, "Listen this is a nice offer but I have to-"

"Elena!" It was her grandmother that called out to her.

The three had finally spotted the wolf hybrid missing. It was Dorothy that spotted her not far off. They walked over to her to see what was going on. Heart saw the two wolves and she slanted her eyes, puffed out her fur, extended her wings a bit, and stood tall as she walked up next to her daughter and faced the two wolves. "Who are you and why are you on our land?" she asked sternly in a demanding tone.

Over the past few years, she had learned that taking responsibility as the Lord's mate meant that she had as much authority as he did. Meaning she was also in charge when she had to be. There were times when she had to step in and take over for Alastor but it wasn't too often. Or when she was out on her own and she needed help. This was one of those situations, but it was dealing with her daughter so that made her more interested.

The wolf brothers bowed to the hybrid as she approached.

"We meant no harm, my lady." Sarook started, his blue eyes looking at her to seem strong as well.

"Yes, we're only here because of her." Narook added, looking toward Elena.

"Elena? Why?" Heart wandered with a slightly tilted head.

"We wish to fight to earn her place as her mate." Sarook told her.

Heart went silent and she looked towards Dorothy. The only thing the dragon said was. "Mate Combat."

The older hybrid sighed. "I understand. You declare this?"

"Yes." Both wolves said simultaneously.

"Mom, what are you doing!?" Elena growled, annoyed that her mother was letting this happen.

"There is nothing I can do once a Mating Combat has been declared. Once it's said that it must be followed through. With this also in mind, not only can these two fight, but almost anyone can join in the fight to be your mate." Heart answered her with a sad expression.

"You can't. I can't. I already-" She stopped herself and then put her ears back.

Heart looked at the girl with wide eyes. "Elena…do you have a mate?"

"I-I…I mean…it-" The young hybrid seemed to be having trouble answering. Secretly, she was hiding something but she didn't want to tell anyone, she couldn't. So, she hung her head, "No…I don't."

"Then the combat will happen." Heart told her and then looked towards the wolves. "When do you want this to take place?" She asked.

"Tonight." Sarook answered.

"After the sun has set and the moon is above." Narook answered after.

Heart nodded, "So be it." She turned to Elena, "As the one who is being fought over, you get to choose the combat area."

"Oh, I choose?" Elena wondered with her ears up.

Everyone nodded.

The hybrid went silent for a moment. She tried to think of where it would be best. Then it hit her, a perfect spot. "You said others can join in this combat, right?" She made sure she understood first.

"Correct. Once a battle has started then anyone can fight, not just these two." Heart answered her.

Elena nodded. "Then I choose the swamp clearing. Right at the southwest border."

The mother was confused about why the pup chose that spot, but she didn't question it. "So be it." She then turned to the wolves. "We will see you tonight. For now, I have to go tell Alastor that this is happening." She said and turned to walk away, unexpected as what would happen tonight.

As requested, after the sun had set and the moon was rising, demons gathered in the spot that was declared for this combat. When Heart told Alastor what had happened, he knew that there was nothing he could do. He didn't want to lose his daughter so soon to a mate but now he had no choice. Unless they all killed each other, which was a rare thing. To think that things like this still happened, made him glad he didn't have to fight for Heart, but he knew he would have won no matter what.

They gathered, the family stood on top of a rock that overhung the clearing. It was a bit wet thanks to the swamp nearby, no one seemed to mind. The two wolf brothers had already gathered there and the demons that came around to watch surrounded them, making a border for the fighting area. The rock face being the other side of the circle. The moon was almost above them, making the area bathed in moonlight. It lit up the area, hoping it would make for a good fight.

Alastor had managed to silence everyone before he spoke. "Welcome, to the Mate Combat. This battle is meant to win over my daughter as her mate. Whoever comes out alive will be the winner. Anyone can fight, not just these two young wolves here. So, whoever wishes to partake may step in at any time." The deer explained. "This is a fight to the death. There is no winner unless one dies. If no one dies then it is a draw and there is no winner. If both die then there is still no winner."

The area was silent and they waited to see if anyone else would step into the circle but no one did. Then again, they could step in at any time during the fight. The field was just so quiet and the brothers stared at each other. Determined.

"If those competing are ready. You may begin." Alastor announced.

There were a few moments where nothing happened, the wolf brothers started circling themselves.

"Good luck to you brother." Narook said.

"Same to you brother." Sarook replied.

"May the better wolf win." Narook's green eyes shined as he said that.

After that, Narook lunged forward and tried to go right to Sarook's neck. The wolf dodged out of the way and tried to get the other's back leg. He got the leg and the wolf howled in pain. Narook got a hold of Sarook's tail and pulled on it, which made him let go of his leg. Narook then jumped onto his brother's back.

Elena watched the fight but was dreading it the entire time. Although part of her was looking around the area…waiting for something to happen. Or more like someone. Most of the time her attention wasn't even on the battle.

Alastor noticed his daughter's absent head. "Elena, what is it you are looking for?"

Elena snapped back after he said that. "Oh…um nothing dad. Sorry…it's just a lot to take in right now." She speaks.

"Well get your head out of the clouds and watch." Alastor told her.

The hybrid rolled her eyes and huffed. She turned back to the fight and her ears went back. "Where is she?" She said under her breath.

The wolves have not gone down yet. Blood was around the area. The two were out of breath. Blood was going down Sarook's face and Narook nursing his bad back leg up from the bite he received.

"Give up yet brother?"

"Never."

At that moment, a cloud was going over the moon. Making the area dark. It was then that Elena spotted it. It was like a black mist that started to make its way into the crowd. Her ears stood up and she even stood up from where she was, a smile on her face. Alastor didn't even look over to see how his daughter was acting but he did spot the weird phenomenon going through the crowd. The black mist made it into the arena, going close to the rock face. It slowly started to take shape and make a form. Elena's tail wagged as she watched the strange apparition.

The mist solidified into a wolf, with black fur and white markings. Long red fur covered its head to the forest floor. The green grass underneath its paws turned brown, sucking the life out of it. Then it turned black. A small mist still radiated from its paws and its red eyes seemed to glow as I looked around the formed arena.

The fighting had stopped and everyone was staring at the wolf figure that had appeared out of thin air. The wolf brothers even stopped their fighting and looked at the creature. They both growled.

"Who are you?"

"Are you butting in huh?"

"No way you're coming to fight us! We'll rip you to shreds."

The figure said nothing as it stood there still, looking at the two with a lifeless expression. Everyone else seemed to step back in fear…they knew who it was now standing in the circle.

"The plague." Alastor growled and stood up. "Why are you here monster!? Standing in the middle of this Mate Combat, I will not allow it! You must leave."

The wolf turned its head to look up at Alastor. It said nothing at first for a few moments then spoke. "This is for the mating of Elena is it not? Also, it said anyone can enter…so here I am…entering the arena."

Everyone went silent and Alastor glared with so much hatred. "I will not allow you to take part!"

"Alastor!" Heart interrupted and went up next to her mate. "She is obviously here for Elena. Rules are rules. She has entered and now she fights. Let them continue."

The deer huffed and stopped his hoof. "Fine. Let this continue."

Looking from Alastor to Elena, the figure gave a nod to her.

Elena was smiling and her tail wagged. "Go get 'em, Night." She whispered.

"Anything for you pup." She whispered back and then turned to the other two wolves in the field. They were growling at her still and ready to attack.

AJ was standing next to Heart and had his book out. "Who is that mom?" He asked, writing stuff down.

The hybrid looked at her son then back down to the field. "That is the Plague. A shapeshifter of sorts. They are a bringer of death and destruction everywhere it goes. Your father has been noticing it coming around more often. He wants it out of his land, but from the look of things-" She looked to Elena to see that her older pup was now smiling and looked excited. "They've been under our nose longer than we thought."

AJ looked over to Elena and saw how she was as well and snorted. "Typical." He huffed and watched the fight ensue.

The wolves both charged forward at the other, she didn't move though. At the last moment she went into a mist and the two didn't have time to stop so they slammed into the rock wall. She appeared behind them again and just glanced at them with an unamused look. The two were confused and their heads now hurting, plus some blood dripping from a gash on their heads. They looked at her and didn't back down.

The mist took shape again, taking her out of her wolf form and soon turned into something a little bigger. It was in the shape of a dragon. Roaring down at the two wolves, it took its front paw and tried to crush them. They both got out of the way but she swiped her tail and managed to knock them to the side. At that, Elena yipped in excitement as she smiled at actions. Alastor, Heart, and AJ looked at her with slanted eyes. She looked at them and put her ears back and calmed down.

The wolves looked at the figure above them and still tried to keep a game face on. "Enough games. I'm tired of you." Night says as she uses her mist to wrap around the two, they couldn't escape. With one paw, she slammed down on Sarook, he screamed in fear before he disappeared into dust. Narook saw this happen and now his fear was raised and he looked up at the shifted dragon. Night growled and then with the mist still around him she took her maw and snapped down around the wolf's neck, breaking it as you could hear the snap and Narook's scream died. Blood was now dripping from her teeth. The wolf fell dead from her jaws as she let him go and she huffed black smoke before she shapeshifted back down to a wolf and looked around the area she now stood.

The woods were now silent as they watched that happen. They all stared at the shifter with fear. Alastor looked around the area, she sighed then stood.

"Does anyone else wish to partake?" So many shook their heads and backed up. The deer huffed and looked down at Night. "So…it seems you are the winner…congrats."

Elena jumped for joy and ran down from the rock. She went over to the shapeshifter and nuzzled her neck. Night had a very tiny smile on her face and she leaned down and nuzzled her back. The wolf made happy noises as she was happy to see the figure as the winner.

"Mon louve, I knew you could do it." Elena said happily. "I'm sorry that it had to be close to our meeting spot. It was the only way to get your attention."

"Of course, pup, I'd do anything for you. Fighting some weaklings is no trouble. Especially for you, this was for being a mate to you. I couldn't let them take you from me."

"I'm just happy that you can be mine now." The hybrid said softly.

Heart looked at the two and just smiled, honestly happy to see her daughter so happy. "Elena, you have some explaining to do." She told her sternly.

The young hybrid looked back up to her mom and put her ears back a moment. She stood in front of Night and looked up at her parents. "I've known Night for the last year. She is my friend and just a few months ago…we…started having feelings for each other." She admitted to them. She looked at Night and smiled at her as the shapeshifter looked at her. She then looked back towards her parents. "I know how you feel about the Plague…so I couldn't tell you. I wanted to be her mate for a while but I knew I'd be cast or something. So, I was keeping our relationship a secret."

The family was silent. Heart smiled at her daughter but Alastor did not look amused. Heart spoke first. "If this is who you love, then I shall accept you. She is your mate officially now, by way of this battle, which is the rules." She turned to the deer. "She is our daughter Alastor. She is happy and she found someone to love. That should be important right?"

He huffed a moment and turned to Heart. "But why that monster? That outcast? She doesn't even belong here."

Heart bared her fangs at her mate. "Alastor don't say such things. What about me!? A monster, an outcast, someone who didn't belong anywhere….but you accepted me…took me in when no one else would." She said sadly to him. "Now here I am…with you as my mate, with happy pups and maybe another one on the way."

Alastor stood there with wide eyes and his ears went up. "You're expecting?" He asked in a whisper to her.

The hybrid nodded. "I felt it this morning. Plus, my mom told me I smelled off and I had her feel my belly." She told him, answering in a whisper.

The deer's tail wagged happily. He gave his mate a few kisses on the face. He was happy to hear the news but had to deal with the other thing at hand. He stopped his kisses and cleared his throat. He turned back to Elena. "Fine…I shall…accept this." He said with some strain but he saw how happy Elena was and he couldn't ruin that.

Elena's tail wagged happily and she danced around Night. The shapeshifter watched the wolf dance around her and it caused her to chuckle under her breath and smile slightly. She looked up at the family. "I promise you, Lord Alastor, to take care of your daughter. To make her happy is my goal and to keep her protected with my life." She told him as Elena stopped doing her dance around her and nuzzled into her neck. She looked down at the girl and started to lick her head, causing Elena to let out a happy deer bleep.

Alastor sighed and looked at the others around the area still. "This Mating Combat is over. We know the victory and the outcome. You may all leave! We have personal things to discuss." He told everyone and they took no time to leave the area quickly.

Soon no one was left and it was just the family alone. They all went down to be by Elena and Night. Meanwhile AJ was still writing notes not far away. Heart went up to Elena and nuzzled her. "I'm so happy for you little one. My pup is all grown up." She said with an emotional tone that she was about to cry.

"Mom." Elena whined slightly and her ears got hot with a blush.

Alastor walked up to them, "Yes, but now we must discuss some things. I knew Elena would be finding a mate but I wasn't expecting…this." He gestured to Night who slanted her eyes at the deer. He cleared his throat. "Anyway, I'd like to discuss things with you two, on what you'd like to do for the future."

Elena and Night looked at each other and then back to Alastor. "Dad, we haven't even had time to discuss that stuff on our own." Elena said to her father with her ears back slightly. "I don't want my own land to be honest."

"I have no land of my own. I own nothing. I've always been a wanderer ever since I fell." Night told him honestly.

"I know and I figured as much." Alastor said annoyedly, "That leaves you with some options. You can stay wonders, I can give you a small part of my land or you can go somewhere and try to claim your own."

Heart then butted in, "Alastor, they don't need land if they don't want it. They can just have their own lives here. With us." She looked at the two girls. "Let them plan out their lives how they wish. Give them some time and let them settle somewhere here. They are still young with all of their hell life ahead of them."

The deer sighed as his mate did have a point. "Fair enough, you have made a good case my love. Plus, if Elena moves out of the cave then we can have room for the new little one."

Elena's ears went up at that and it even got the attention of AJ since he stopped writing. "You're pregnant!?" They both said simultaneously.

The older hybrid's ears got hot with a blush of embarrassment and she giggled. "Yes, I found out today."

"Well, this should be exciting." AJ said before he closed his book.

"Congrats mom." Elena said happily with a wag of her tail.

"Thank you, I know this is exciting news but let's get you taken care of first." Heart tried to get them back on track. "Where will you be staying?"

The younger hybrid thought for a moment and then looked at Night, it would probably be best if she asked first. So, she turned to her and asked, "Night, can we move into the place where we've been meeting? I feel that would be good for both of us."

The shapeshifter seemed to be thinking but then nodded. "I think it will be perfect."

Elena's tail wagged happily before she turned back to her parents. "There is an old den we've been meeting at, it's actually where Night has been staying. It's hidden by a lot of bushes and shrubs so it's nice and secluded."

"If that is what you wish then you may stay there. You can move dens whenever you wish." Alastor told her.

Elena went back to Night and stood close by her. "I think I might stay there, just for tonight and I'll come by the cave tomorrow and get a few things of mine."

Heart nodded. "If that is what you wish dear."

"Just be safe." Alastor added.

Elena nodded and went over to Night and gave her muzzle a lick. "Shall we be off then?"

Night nodded and then turned to look at Alastor and Heart and bowed her head. The two turned and walked off towards the den where they would be staying. Heart and Alastor watched them go off and it was hard to believe that their daughter would be having her own life now. It was hard to fathom everything that had just happened today.

AJ stood up and went in front of his parents. "You realize that that woman can overpower you, father."

Alastor looked at the boy and glared. "Hush boy, I don't need your smart talk."

"Now, calm down. Don't rile up your father AJ, please." Heart butted in as she turned from the young dragon to her mate. "Don't worry, love. Elena seems to keep Night under control and I'm sure she knows how much you mean to Elena. She wouldn't do anything to hurt her."

"We don't know that." Alastor said between gritted teeth.

"I know, but we have to give her a chance. I trust her." Heart told him.

"For now." The deer snorted.

"I know because looking at the ground under Night, the grass didn't die when around Elena. She can control her powers. If you look at where the battle was, the whole spot is dead." Heart pointed out.

Alastor's ears went up as he looked over to where the battle was and saw the brown almost black ground. His ears flicked as he thought, then turned to where the two were just standing and walked off. It was fine, the grass wasn't damaged. It was a valid point but Alastor still didn't trust it. Even so he had to do what was best for his daughter and that was to trust her and her decisions.

He sighed. "You have a point, my love and for now I will let this go but that doesn't mean I trust it fully."

"That's ok dear. I know it will take time." Heart says as she wraps a wing around him. "How about we head home?"

"Home, which does sound nice." Alastor smiled and looked at his mate then his son who was looking tired. "Let's go home. My family is still together, even when apart."

"That's right." Heart nodded and the three walked off and back to the cave.

As they walked, the hybrid was lost in thought. Where would she be without Alastor? What would her life be like if she didn't stop to rest in his land that night? When they got to the cave, she stopped right before it and looked at the entrance and then up at the moon. Alastor noticed his mate stop and look at the sky. He shooed their son inside before going over to her.

"What's on your mind my little wolf?" The deer asked as he walked up to her.

That snapped her out of her thoughts and she looked back at the deer. "Oh, sorry my buck, I was just…thinking." She told her.

"Thanking of what, darling?" He wondered as he went up to her and rubbed his nose against hers.

She smiled at him and then nuzzled her muzzle against his neck. "Just about, what if I wasn't standing here now. With you. All the stuff that's happened. Where would I be?"

Alastor smiled and licked her head. "My love, we must not live on what ifs. We can't live in the past either. We must focus on the present and prepare for the future."

"I guess those are true words." Her tail started to wag. "I'm simply happy. Happy with you and being here. Happy for our family. Now I'm happy to see our family growing. Something I never thought I would see in my life considering what I am." She said with a sigh of content.

"You're my mate and I love you so much. That is what you'll always be to me." Alastor tells her.

"Then we won't judge Elena on her decisions." Heart added. She smiles at him and says something before he can argue. "Let's go to sleep. I'm tired."

The Lord sighed but still took a deep breath and followed his mate. "As you wish, my love. I shall seal my lips."

They went into the cave and checked on AJ to see he was now asleep. She then went to the pile of fur where they rested and got comfortable. Laying on her side with a content sigh. Alastor went to sleep behind her and put his head as close to her belly as he could and nuzzled it.

She chuckled and looked up at him. "Already excited?"

"Always when it comes to our little ones." The deer admitted.

Heart smiled and got comfortable as she closed her eyes. She relaxed and before she faded into sleep she managed to say, "I love you, Al."

The deer heard her small voice and smiled. "I love you too, Heart." He said before he got comfortable and also fell asleep.

That's it….that's the end. I don't have anything else planned for this story. If anything maybe I'll make a one-shot or if I do think of another story I'll do a sequel. For now, there is a sword in this story to mark it as complete. I honestly hope you guys enjoyed this story as much as I did. It was honestly so fun to write and I was happy to bring my animal au to life since its the first ever idea I had for Hazbin. I hope you all have a wonderful day ahead. For now, ill see you in the next story.
