Act 3

Spacekitten2700: You got that right

Benson and Stabler went to the agency for A Little bit of Sugar, which happen to be local. It was a in a single building, and inside at the front was a receptionist desk. The woman looked up from her computer at them.

"Hello. Do you have an appointment?" she asked.

They showed them their badges.

"We don't need them." Stabler said.

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"Who's in charge here?" Benson wanted to know.

The receptionist then got on her phone.

"Ms. Garcia, there's some police officers here to see you."

A couple minutes later, Stabler and Benson went back. They saw a tall woman with olive skin, dark brown hair, brown eyes, and she wore a blue sweater, black skirt, black heels, diamond stud earrings, and a bracelet.

"Officers, I'm Isabel Garcia, the owner/manager of this establishment." she introduced.

"Detective Stabler and this is my partner Detective Benson. We're here about a worker of yours."

"Who?"

"Liana Thomson." said Benson.

She then showed her a picture.

"Liana? Is she okay?" Isabela wondered.

"No, she's missing." Stabler informed.

"Oh my god. She's a nice girl."

"You normally hire young girls to be companions to older men?" Benson wanted to know.

"Excuse me, all the girls I hire are 18 or older."

"Liana's 16."

Isabela looked shocked, and quickly went to her filing cabinet. After looking through some papers, she pulled out a file.

"This is a copy of the ID she used when she applied."

She gave the paper to Benson, and they looked at it. It was a printed copy of Liana's driver's license but the dates had been changed to make it look like she was two years older.

"Obviously she used a fake ID." Stabler observed.

Isabela couldn't believe her ears.

"Oh my god. This a complete liability."

"Well you can worry about your company if you want. But we need to find Liana. Do you recognized this man?" Stabler said.

He showed her a picture of Liana in a car with some man.

"Hmm, I can't say really, but I've seen many men come and go."

"Do you keep records of who your girls go out with?"

"I'll get them for you."

Back at the precinct Benson and Stabler shared their findings.

"It looks like Liana's been with A Little bit of Sugar for the last few months." said Stabler.

"Run their names." Cragen instructed.

"Who gets the honor of telling her father?" asked Munch.

"I think that should be our responsibility." Benson mentioned.

At the Thomson house, Benson and Stabler were telling Mr. Thomson about his daughter's new "job".

"Liana was doing what?" Mr. Thomson asked in disbelief.

"It appears Liana joined a company that allows men to meet young women that could be their...companion for certain things." Benson explained.

"I can't believe this. Why would she do this?"

"Well there could be many reasons." Stabler told him.

"I know what you're saying. I neglected my daughter so she went looking for someone else to love her."

"We weren't saying that." Benson tried to comfort.

But Mr. Thomson didn't look so sure.

"Sir..."

"Just bring her back."

"We'll do everything we can." Stabler replied.

Munch and Fin had been going over the men Liana had been seeing.

"Looks like she's been seeing a few." Munch said.

"Any of them got records?" Fin wondered.

"No, but it looks like lately she'd been seeing one more often."

"Who?"

"A guy named Austin Higgins."

"He got an address?"

"945 West Sycamore St."

After getting the information to Benson and Stabler, they went over to see Austin Higgins. It turns out that he lived in an upscale loft. They rang the doorbell, and a couple minutes later the door opened.

The man that answered the door looked to be the same age as Mr. Thomson, he had slightly tanned skin, dark brown eyes, and thick black hair. He wore a white-shirt, gray pants, and a face mask.

"Austin Higgins?" asked Benson.

"Yes, can I help you?"

"We're here about Liana Thomson. May we come in?" Stabler informed.

"It's best you stay outside. I tested positive for COVID last week. Is Liana okay?"

"Actually no, she's missing."

"What?"

"We understand that you're her sugar daddy. You found her at A Little bit of Sugar."

"I prefer to think of us as companions."

"Did you know your companion was 16?"

"16? Liana said she was 18."

"No, she used a fake ID."

"Oh my god."

"Getting regrets about some nights?"

Austin looked stunned.

"No, no. Our relationship wasn't like that."

"Then what was it like?"

"Look, when I first met Liana she told me about her dad. I felt sorry for her, my own old man wasn't exactly father of the year either."

"So what did you do when you were with her?"

"I took her to the movies, we went to museums, the park, I took her shopping."

"And that's it?"

"That's it. Check my records if you don't believe me."
