Undyne took out her spear, awaiting the incoming threat. She was currently in formation with the other soldiers and she was in the middle of them, the soldiers were to the sides of the hallway in order to freely shoot at all angles. Undyne stood steady looking through the dark with her glowing spear. Five seconds passed. Xena ripped off a locker door and prepared to throw it at whatever came. Two minutes passed. There was silence, the group lowered their weapons thinking it was a false alarm. Until a large flame ignited one of the near soldiers on fire, making him a living candle. As the soldier burned, the light of the flame and the light of the flashlights illuminated the creature walking towards them. The thing was a gluttonous eight-foot blob that appeared to be humanoid. Its eyes were overwhelmingly green. Its mouth had two tusks sticking out of it. There were two wires that connected from his back to where his hands should have been, instead there was a flamethrower on the left and a small plasma cannon on the right. Undyne quickly rushed at the creature, ducking under its massive arm and restrained it. The other soldiers fired into the creature, but the bullets just seemed to be hitting the least important parts of its body. Xena joined in with Undyne, holding on to the massive flamethrower. The two started smashing and stabbing the cybernetic weapon, trying to remove it from the creature's arm. The creature, then in retaliation, tried to wiggle the two off, like it was a bear being attacked by fire ants. The two held on, continuing their best to smash and stab at the arm while the others distracted it. Then after a few more tries the flamethrower detached itself from the arm. A mix of wire and flesh landed on the ground. The creature growled out in pain as it looked at its severed arm. Undyne then got off the arm and leapt towards the creature's chest, which appeared to have its glowing orange heart enclosed in a glass container. She thrust her spear inside, orange liquid began spewing out. The fleshy blob fell to the floor, its body lifeless. Undyne looked at the creature, taking in deep breaths after all the effort she had put into slaying it.

"Look, we don't have time to figure out what that thing is, we have to find the others. There's probably more of those fat blobs on this floor." One of the soldiers shouted.

"Right" Undyne nodded before taking off in a sprint with the rest of the patrol. As Undyne ran she picked up another audio file on the ground, saving it for Alphys to play. As the group continued dashing through the hall some of the red creatures, that had been on the previous floors, bursted out of the lockers while screaming and hissing at them. Xena shoved one of the creatures down with her two front hoofs before putting the left hoof on its skull and crushing it. The soldiers shot at the creatures while trying to use as little ammo as possible. One unicorn levitated out of one of the broken locker doors and sped off the fiends. As the fighting went on a small explosion burst in the middle of the group. Undyne and Xena were crushing the red creatures, looked up at the assailant who had set off the explosion. The creature was humanoid like the rest, it was 6'5 and was skeletal and fleshy. Its eyeballs were pure white and black armor around its chest. Attached to the armor were two missile launchers on its shoulders. The creature flew at Undyne, using a jetpack to maneuver around. Undyne grabbed the skeletal monster's head, bashing it into the concrete school wall. She then twisted its neck and threw its head towards the end of the hallway. The group, after taking care of the horde of red midgets, continued to spring. They kept encountering more of the red little monsters, taking them down as they dashed. Some soldiers who ran out of ammo were butchered by the creatures and left behind. As Undyne looked around amongst the fighting she could see writing on the lockers. The words read, "Do not come here. Abandon this place. The fires of Tartarus are the only things you'll see here."

After twenty-three more feet of running they reached one of the other groups. This group had Stainless Steel and the slayer. Stainless appeared to be fighting off the purple creature they had encountered on the third floor, slicing through its muscular torso. On the other hand, the slayer was fighting off one of the fleshy blobs. He was blasting double barreled shotgun pellets into the creature's head. Undyne joined in as well, charging in with reinforcements ripping and tearing through the hellish creatures. Her reinforcements started gunning down the creatures from behind her, resulting in melee tactics to conserve ammo. After thirty-two minutes the horde was dead. The two separate groups relaxed placing their weapons down and lay them against the bloody lockers.

"So, Undyne, how did your excursion go?" Stainless asked using a piece of the purple thing's head as a pillow.

"Well, we found nothing but some kid's lunchbox, some outdated schoolwork, and a short film about the history of the stable." She sighed as she looked up at the black ceiling.

"Well, the history part sounds interesting. To make things less boring, can you give me a fact about this stable?" Stainless asked smirking.

"Let's see, if I can recall correctly this stable was run by a mare that I've seen in my memory orbs, called Sunset Shimmer." Undyne said recalling the movie she had watched.

"Wait, Sunset Shimmer? Do you mean that mare who was one of Celestia's apprentices, she tried to rebel against her and got exiled?" Stainless asked in surprise.

"What? Can you repeat that again, because what you said doesn't make any sense." Undyne asked in a soft confused voice.

"Sunset Shimmer was an apprentice of Celestia. She was one of her favorite students, then one day she did something to rebel against Celestia. No one is quite sure what she did, but Celestia said that it was her personal business and that she would talk to that student in private. All we know about her and the diarchy was that Celestia was a mother figure to Sunset. She felt like Celestia was hiding something from her. No is quite sure what happened to her after that news. Some say the guards executed her while others say that she's been exiled (which I believe, well, before you informed that she was the overmare)."

"But why would she fund this stable to be built? She was directly punished by a queen/god?", Undyne pondered in response to Stainless' explanation.

"Eh, who knows? This stable is filled with mysteries and I've been seeing some strange dark figure whose head looks like an egg." The gray stallion interjected and pointed his chin towards the ground.

"Wait, did you say a guy whose head was shaped like an egg?" Undyne gasped quickly at the revelation that she was not the only one who was seeing things.

"Yeah, him. And did you see him too?" Stainless questioned her, wondering what Undyne was talking about.

"Yeah, I did. I remember how ominous some of his words were." She told him.

"Yeah they are. He told me that I should not be tempted by my own hubris like the morning star did.

"Yeah, that seems quite ominous. Especially the fact that the morning star is part of Xena's religious cosmology." Undyne said then pondered about the cryptic words of the man. "Anyways, which one of you warriors have a pipbuck I can use?"

"Ah sure your fishiness, I got a pipbuck that I found off I dead colt that I totally did not kill" a greasy earth pony joked while giving her a pip buck.

Udnyne then tried to put it on her wrist before realizing that it did not fit on her armor. After taking the power armor off and getting checked out by some pervertered stallions, she placed the audio file in and played it.

"Hey its Sugercube...Again... I think I'm about to learn or have learned a part of the dark truth of this stable. While I was eavesdropping on conversations on the 6th floor, I heard something interesting. Some mares, who were the scientists that I've been snooping on, were talking about something called soul jars. They said that they're running out of resources to contain the souls of the wendigos, which i didn't even know was possible. They also said that this was the second time in the stable's history that they spent resources to conduct rituals. And one of them said the first time was to contain something called the Daybreaker."

Undyne then stopped the recording, frozen in place by that. It couldn't be. Was this really the place that contained the Daybreaker? First the Light Bringer/Lucifer entity now an alternate personality of a sun goddesses that could end the world and was being contained here. What the fuck was this place?
