Verse 15: Blessed Quest
Within a few days, they use the bounty from the Dragon to gain a ton of marks to gather ammo, supplies, and other things they needed for their trip on the road. "Well time to get back on the road," Natalia said as she checks the Bulldogs along with a new Value sniper rifle to place into the gun locker in their caravan.
"Yeah, where is the next stop?" Artyom asked.
"The city of Havoc, it's the home of the Regal Gang which was part of the former Russian Mob. It's pretty dangerous but if we lay down and do not draw attention. We should be okay," Alisa said as they packed up all their stuff for them to go into the truck with Bom climbing into the back of the truck to lay down and enjoy the fresh air.
"Time to roll," Natalia said as they drive out of the hotel's garage to go onto the road with Artyom at the wheel. They go down the ruined road to see columns of cars nearby with mutants surrounding them.
"Let's not disturb those guys, not waste ammo," Artyom said as he drives away to not draw the attention of the monsters. "What is Havoc like?" Artyom asked.
"Oh, it's an entertainment center in the area. Tons of drink, games, stage plays, gambling, hookers, anything you can think of," Natalia said.
"Yep and it's all controlled by the Regal gang consisting of different factions trying to gain control over the city's businesses. Having tons of goons with former military or spec op training, they are very dangerous. We can stop there, keep our heads down while getting resupplied, and then leave there," Alisa said.
"Yes like some stage plays would be nice," Artyom said as Alisa taps his shoulder.
"Would you like me to wear some sexy leotard like those stage girls doing the can-can?" Alisa asked in a surly tone making her show her cleavage and making him blush a bit.
"That would be a lovely thought," Artyom said as Alisa kisses him on the cheek.
"I could wear a bunny outfit to show off my nice legs," she said as Artyom enjoyed how curvy her thighs were as they hug the pants legs showing off their shape and thickness.
"Gee, get a room you two," Natalia said.
"We will, you need to move out of the room for naughty times," Alisa said as Natalia groaned at this.
'Well, it will be a while before reaching there. We will need to take breaks here or there," Natalia said as she cleans her auto pistol with a rag for them to approach an abandoned village which is blocking their path.
"Oh boy, I hope no one is here," Artyom said as Alisa grabs her Vepr 545 semi-auto rifle with a scope and muzzle brake.
"Just in case," Alisa cocks the gun to chamber the round for them to go through the gate with Bom looking around to smell any threats nearby.
"Smell any bad guys boy?" Natalia asked as the dog looks confused for she is holding onto her OTs-33 to load a 33-round magazine into the gun. Artyom is carefully going through the street with his custom AKS-74U beside his leg ready to be used on command.
Bom barks with several bandits appearing in a broken house to open fire on them. "Do not hit the vehicles but kill the rest," the bandit leader said on the radio.
"What about those cute girls?" a bandit asked.
"Keep them alive, they can be sold into slavery. Kill the guy and the dog," the leader ordered as Arytom gets out the door to grab his modded carbine which has a suppressor, Kobra combat sight, adjustable stock, and a foregrip.
"Bom," Natalia said as the two went into cover for she fires her pistol at the house with a TOZ-194 shotgun sling on her back.
Alisa wields her semi-auto rifle to get behind a broken wall to take a shot at the bandit in the top window. The bullet cuts through his head to drop him onto the floor. "I am going to cover you while you three storm the building," Alisa said on the radio.
"Cool, we got this," Artyom is firing bursts at the bandits with his short carbine with Natalia and Bom approaching the building first on the side. Artyom is going forward to look through his Kobra sight to begin shooting at the bandits killing a few of them.
Alisa is giving the others covering fire with her long-range semi-auto shots. "No way I am going to be someone's love pillow," Alisa thought as she sees Artyom coming into the building to sweep up the room.
Bom leaps into the room to tackle a bandit to rip out his throat with Natalia blasting guys with her auto pistol. Bom grabs onto a bandit's arm to pull them down leaving them vulnerable with Natalia tapping him in the head with her pistol rounds.
"Damn it, they cleared out the first group to the south," a bandit said on the radio.
"Don't let them near the church, its gate will not let them leave," the bandit leader said as Natalia hears this on the dead bandit's radio.
"Interesting," Natalia said as she switches to her pump-action shotgun and grab some shells from the dead bandits. "Guys, there are more bandits here. The leader is housed in the church nearby," Natalia said as Alisa is behind the wall to see more thugs coming her way.
"Yeah, good catch. I see more of these bastards coming our way," Alisa said as she rapidly shoot at the bandits to drop most of them onto the streets. They get behind broken cars for cover as a shootout takes place.
"Take this bitch," a bandit tosses a grenade for Alisa is rolling away for the grenade breaks a section of wall as she gets behind a car. She takes her Vepr to place her shots to take out more bandits with her shouldering the thumbhole stock of her rifle to shoot precise shots to get in headshots.
Artyom, Bom, and Natalia are closing in on the thugs with Bom jumping onto a bandit to tear into his throat. Natalia fires her shotgun to blow off the head of a bandit with Artyom fires his short carbine to kill even more bandits.
He tosses a flash grenade to blind an entire group of bandits with Alisa picking them off with clean headshots. "Good work," Alisa said as the bandit leader looks down from the church to see the four taking care of his troops like they were nothing.
"Those bitches, get them," he ordered as the church doors opened for three bandits are covered in heavy armor wielding RPK-74s equipped with 60-round casket magazines.
"Time to yield you whores before your faces get dirty," the heavy bandit said as they open fire with a hail of bullets. They all take cover with them trying to find an angle to flank them.
"This is tough, we can use the houses as cover to flank those gunners," Artyom said.
"Right, we can split up and I will draw their fire," Alisa said as she backs away to begin firing her rifle to draw them away with the others going into different buildings with Natalia wielding her shotgun to blast a bandit in the head.
She tosses a frag grenade into a room to take a group of bandits with Bom coming in to take down more bandits. Natalia is shooting down enemies with her pistol to let it rip apart the lightly armored bandits. She hops over a table to put a few rounds into a bandit's head to get to a position of aiding Alisa.
Elsewhere Artyom is clearing rooms with his custom AKS-74U to blazing rifle rounds into the bandits. A dog rushes at him to knock him onto the floor to drop his carbine. He holds onto the muzzle of the dog trying to get it off him before it can destroy his face.
He kicks the dog to draw his MP 412 Rex revolver to put a magnum round right through the head of the dog putting it down easily. A few more dogs run at him with him putting accurate shots with the dogs going limp with bloody holes in their heads.
He pistol whips the dog's head to knock it back as he shoves his knife into the dog's throat cutting it clean with blood flowing down its fur. He grabs his gun to move forward with him encountering several bandits to let outbursts into their chests to drop them onto the floor.
Artyom sees the three brutes using their machine guns to pound away at Alisa's position. He fires his carbine to hit the helmet to knock it off his head. Alisa follows up with a bullet right through the forehead. "One down," he said as he is drawing the two gunners' attention.
Natalia loads slugs into her shotgun to aim for the helmet to destroy it leaving his head exposed. Alisa takes out the gunner to leave one more left. The last gunner backs away but he gets flash banged in the face as Alisa fires onto his helmet until it breaks through and cuts through his brain.
They cleared a path to the church and are in control of a gate that will allow them to pass through. "Well, we got to go to church and pray we can find that lever to open the gate," Alisa said as the four head off with the bandit leader loading up an SVD to train his red light onto Alisa's large chest.
"Too bad, you would make good bank but you are more trouble than you are worth," the leader said as Alisa noticed for she rolls behind a car for the shot missed. "Shit," he cursed under his breath as everyone is approaching the church with caution.
"Time to give this guy a huge headache," Arytom said as they hide behind cars to get to the door to slip inside to encounter more thugs but something weird happened a grenade falls from the ceiling.
"Look out," Alisa pushes them out of the way to get behind a couch to avoid the shrapnel. "Gee, it seems like he has booby-trapped the place with no bandits," Alisa said as her chest is shoved into his face. "Oh sorry," she said as she quickly get back up onto her knees.
"It's okay, it's a nice surprise," Artyom said as he gets back up to help her back onto her feet. They regain their focus to scope out the building to see it's very beautiful.
"It's a damn shame this place is being turned into a bandit hideout," Natalia said as they spread out to head for the upper levels to find the bandit leader.
"Yeah, we have a church like this back at home. It was so lovely with nice people running the place," Alisa said.
"I would love to see it," Artyom said as he isn't a spiritual type but churches always had a nice aura about them liking finding peace and calm within his mind.
"You will," Alisa said as they go up the stairs to see pressure pads connected to a spiked orb latched onto the ceiling. "That would be nasty," she said as they go upstairs to see a shotgun aiming at them.
They leap into the room nearby to avoid the gun blast as they continue forward to go to the next room. "Hey Bom, don't move too much," Natalia warned as the dog trips a wire for several grenades to fall from the ceiling.
"Oh crap," he said as they roll into cover to avoid the blast to see the way to the bandit leader is cleared up.
"No more traps jerk," Alisa said as they train their weapons with the bandit leader for him to fire at them with a PMM pistol. Alisa orders Bom to seek out the bandit leader with her pulling out her Vepr rifle with the dog biting onto his arm. Alisa lines up her shot and fires the Vepr killing the leader and clearing up the area of all bandits.
"Good riddance," Arytom said as everyone begins to relax with the town being very quiet outside. "We should secure their supplies for the road and get the extra stock to sell for extra Marks," Artyom said for them to spread out and find the lever then the supplies and weapons.
Alisa grabs onto the SVD rifle to see it has a laser sight and PKS-07 Sniper Sight. "Nice piece of kit here," Alisa said as she takes it along to add to their collection. Artyom and Natalia check the crates to see some nice gear and supplies.
"Cool, food stocks and ammo," Artyom said as they spot a great RPK-74M in mint condition with a bipod grip and PK-A Reflex Sight along with some 60 casket magazines and a couple of 95 drum magazines to go with it.
"This would be great for base defense," Natalia said as Artyom takes a bag to put them inside. They secured some goods to place them at the entrance with them looking for the lever to open the gate to let them out.
Artyom found the lever to pull it back to open the gate. "Perfect, we can get out of here now and we got some goodies for the road," Alisa said as they head back to the truck and storage their stuff into the caravan for them to hop back into the truck to drive off into the distance to put the town behind them to head for the town of Havoc.
