Episode 6: Better off now than before
(1 week later)
After what happened, amanda needed to get away for a while. She really needed to not think. So, she got up this morning, took a shower, and left her house for an entire weekend. She was going to spend some time at her parents' house. Afterall, she hasn't seen them in quite some time. So, she hopped in her car and left for Empire City.
(Time Skip)
As she was driving, she saw that she was close to the 'Leaving Beach City' sign.
Amanda: "Welp, off to empire city I go."
As she drove past the sign, she put some music on and drove off to empire city.
(Time Skip)
As she was just starting to get into the groove of the music, her phone began to ring. And since she has the capability to hook her phone up to the Bluetooth in her car, all she had to do was press 'answer'
(On the phone)
Valentine: Hey amanda
Amanda: Hey.
Valentine: I stopped by your house today, but I didn't see your car. Is everything okay?
Amanda: Everything is fine. I just… I was going to visit my parents.
Valentine: Oh, okay. Well, I was calling to check in and see if everything was cool.
Amanda: I appreciate it. Anyways, I have to get going. I'll talk to you later, bye.
Valentine: Bye.
(Call ended)
Amanda could only sigh. It was nice to have real friends that actually cared about her. When she was in high school, she thought she had "friends", but it turns out she didn't. Those people were nothing but selfish people, who only cared about going to parties and getting into people's pants. But despite all of that, there were two people that really cared about her. Marcus and valentine. She couldn't help but smile at that thought.

(Night)
When she drove into her parent's driveway, she could see the light from the living room. When she arrived at the door, she rung the doorbell. It took a second, but when the door finally opened, she heard a surprised gasp.
Avery: "A…amanda."
Amanda: "Hi mom."
Her mom then pulled her into the tightest hug that mother could give. She then began to cry happy tears into her daughters' shoulder. When she broke apart the hug, she then called her husband.
Avery: "Darling, come over here, I have someone that your going to be excited to see!."
Amanda heard footsteps then she heard another gasp.
Max: "OH. My. God. Amanda is that you."
Amanda: "Yes dad."
Her dad then began to grab her shoulders and look amanda over.
Max: "It's only been a few couple of years and you're already getting taller."
Amanda: "Dad, I'm 21."
Max: "I know, but you just look so grown up."
Avery: "That's because she is darling. Oh, you must be tired sweety. Come on, let's get you inside."
As amanda looked at her parent's house, she noticed that a few things have changed. The kitchen now had an island, and the walls were marble, there were also new ovens. Double wall ovens to be exact. And to top it all off, they even had a new kitchen table that was made of glass. She just couldn't help but stare in awe.
Avery: "As you can see, we made a few changes to the house. Especially the kitchen."
Amanda: "I can see that. It looks wonderful."
Max: "Oh, and speaking of changes, we made some in your bedroom. Go on, check it out."
Amanda then quickly ran upstairs like she was a kid a kid again. Her parents could only chuckle at how funny their daughter was. Once amanda got to her room, she opened the door and was immediately shocked at how magical her room looked. There was a giant lava lamp in the corner of her room for starters. The color of it was yellow. Her bed was pure white with one ghostbusters pillow on it. She was always a ghostbusters fan. She then saw this huge wall flat screen tv, and under it was a shelf that have all her game systems. From X box to Ps4.
Avery: "Pretty impressive, right?"
Amanda: "Are you kidding?! This is the best room remodel ever! Thanks mom and dad."
Hearing amanda say those words made her parents think of back when she was a pre-teen. She was always obsessed with video games and cool things like lava lamps. She truly was the happiest kid in the world. Even as a 21-year-old, she still loves those types of things.
Avery: "Well, since you drove all the way over here without a moments rest, I think you should get some sleep."
Amanda: "Yeah, your right"
Avery: "Welp, we'll leave ya to it."
And with that, her parents closed the door and went downstairs to their home theatre. Amanda then slipped into her night clothes and called it a night.
(The next morning)
She abruptly woke up by someone tapping her shoulder. As she slowly opened her eyes, she saw a figure looming above her and whispering her name.
Avery: *whispering* "Amanda, wake up. There's breakfast downstairs, wake up sweety."
Amanda only groaned.
Avery: "Fine then, I guess me, and your dad will just have to eat your waffles with fruit and extra powdered sugar."
Amanda then jolted out of bed and quickly ran to the kitchen to get her waffles. Once she sat at the table, she immediately began eating the waffles.
Max: "Honey, slow down, if you keep eating that fast you might choke."
Amanda: "Sorry dad."
Avery: "I've been meaning to ask, how is valentine and marcus doing?"
Amanda swallowed the pancake in her mouth then she answered.
Amanda: "Oh, their doing fine. We've been hanging out often as well."
Avery: "That's good to hear."
Max: "Have you made any new friends while you're in beach city?"
Amanda: "Well yes actually. I've met these people called "The Crystal Gems". First, I met steven then I met garnet and steven introduced me to pearl and amethyst."
Max: "Hm, the crystal gems, that's a weird name. But if their your friends I'm fine with weird."
Avery: "So, how are you liking it in beach city?"
Amanda: "It's really beautiful. When you wake up all you see is a beach. And it's absolutely divine at night, the starts shine so bright and at that time the weather is a bit brisk. You should come visit sometime.
Avery: "Now that sounds like a wonderful place to visit."
Max: "It sure does."
When amanda finished the rest of her pancakes, she went upstairs to take a bath. She drew a bath and checked to see if it was the temperature that she wanted. Once she was satisfied, she took her clothes off and sat in the tub. She was so relaxed that she couldn't help but sink under the water. After all the happened, she really needed this. She just wanted to spend 1 weekend with her parents, just 1. She didn't bother to tell her parents about her incident either. The less worrying the better. And plus, she just really needed to relax for real this time.
She then heard a knock at the door, but since she was under water, it sounded muffled.
Avery: "Honey, me and your dad are going out for a bit. Feel free to do whatever you want."
Those words sounded like music to her ears, even if the sound was muffled. When she was a teenager, she used to get so excited by those words. 'Feel free to do whatever you want.' She couldn't help but smile. Visiting her parents' house made her feel some nostalgia, her parents would sometimes be gone for hours, either going to dinner, a movie, or something even wilder. She never felt bad one bit that they didn't bring her. At the time, she was having such a good childhood, that she thought that her parents needed a break occasionally.
So, did it bother her now?
Nope
Her head arose out of the water to give her mom an answer.
Amanda: "Okay, have fun."
Avery: "Thanks sweetie."
(Time Skip)
Once she got out of the shower, brushed her teeth, and put some cloths on, she headed out the door. She drove around the city a bit, but that was until she got a wonderful idea. She was going to the Sin City bar. So, she drove in the direction of the bar.
Once she got there, she opened the doors and was greeted by one of the bartenders. Randy.
Randy: "Welcome to the Sin City Bar, what can I get-"
Once randy's eyes scanned over the person that walked in, he almost screamed.
Randy: "Amanda you fuckin goofball, what are ya doing here?"
Amanda: "Eh, just checking up on my favorite bartender in the world."
Randy: "Well you did more than just checkin in on me, you almost gave me a heart attack from excitement."
Amanda: "I try."
Randy jumped over the bar and went to hug amanda. Once he broke apart the hug, he yelled to everyone in the bar.
Randy: "Hey everybody, amanda's back!"
Everybody turned to look in randy's direction, then once they got a good look at her that all yelled:
Everybody: "WOOHOO!"
She then heard footsteps coming to her on the right. She turned to look at the person and smirked.
?: "So, the swagger and slut is back in town ay."
Amanda: "Be careful, you know what happened the last time you said something like that. I fucked you so good, the air thought you stopped breathing it."
?: "A one-night stand would always say something like that."
It was dead silent. That was until both of them busted out laughing.
Amanda: "It's good to see you jess."
Jess: "It's good to see you too."
Jess was amanda's bar friend. They would always dirty talk even when they never did anything. If you didn't know them, you'd think they were in some type of relationship.
Jess: "How's life going?"
Amanda: "It's going okay. It is life after all."
Jess: "You got that right. Hey randy, can I get two vodka shots?"
Randy: "You got it."
Jess: "How's marcus and valentine?"
Amanda: "There're good. We've been hanging out a lot lately."
Jess: *gasps dramatically* "You Bitch!"
Amanda: "Oh cut it out."
Jess: "You've been hanging out with them instead of me?!"
Amanda: "Idiot, you do realize you live all the way here in empire city."
Jess: "That's still no excuse."
Amanda: "I tell you what, I'm here all weekend so why don't we hang out together?"
Jess: "I don't hang out with one-night stands."
Amanda: "And I don't hang out with garbage, but here I am."
They both started laughing again. They both closed off the night with drinking, partying, and going to target.
Hi, it's me again
I just wanted to say, thanks for the support on both of my fanfics. I really do appreciate it. Anyway, while I was writing this chapter I got extremely excited. The reason for this is because I added some more character development. My fanfics aren't perfect and I know this, but the little things like this makes me love my own fanfic even more. I also feel as if I'm steering away from the steven universe, that will be fixed in the next chapter. I just want to make sure that you guys can get a feel of the Amanda (My oc character). I don't want to take the story to fast but I also don't want to take it to slow. I would like my character to experience raw emotion and other feelings as well. My first fanfic (I've been through a lot) doesn't have a lot of raw emotion or barely vulneralbility in the character, and I will fix that by making changes in some of the things within the story.
Thanks for the support
