After Shayera finished cleaning off, she heard someone knocking on the door.

"I brought your suit, I'm just going to leave it here and exit the room."

Once she heard the footsteps die away, she opened the door a crack and grabbed the large suitcase that Bruce had dispensed. She opened it up and was surprised at the beautiful suit that was in it. The suit was black in color (after all Batman made it). The arms were long sleeved and they included golden metal gloves with spikes on the fists. It seems he's based this off of Thanagarian armor. The pants were also black, but were armored below the knees in the same color as the gloves. Near the waist was a golden bracket type piece that went around her back and ended on either side of her rib cage. It was fitted with a clip on either side for her mace, and there were a few pockets inside of it for gadgets and such. For her wings, there was also a black armor with golden linings along the edges. Lastly, she had a metal mask very similar to her previous one. It was flush with her suit and was a lot shinier then the one she had before. She quickly put it all on and was surprised yet again, at how comfortable it was. Bruce really knows how to make a suit. She held her mask in her hands, not wanting to put it on. She could hear voices in her head.

"You're not worthy" One said.

"You're a disgrace to your people and your name"

"Failure! Traitor!"

She dropped the mask on the floor and rested her gloved hands over her eyes. They're right, I'm unworthy to wear anything resembling Hawkgirl.

Picking up the mask again, because she didn't want to leave it on the bathroom floor, she entered the main room and placed the mask on a chair. She loved walking in her new suit. It was so...authoritative. It was heavy enough to seem firm, but also light enough to remain agile. Batman had outdone himself with this suit and Shayera absolutely adored it. Because of the support it had, she was able to walk down the stairs, which didn't cause too much trouble, and met up with Bruce in one of the many living rooms.

"Like the suit?"

"Yes, it's perfect. I love it."

"You're not wearing the mask..."

Shayera held her elbow with one of her hands and looked down at the floor.

"I'm...not worthy for the mantle of Hawkgirl. It brought people hope and it represented justice. I no longer do either of those things. I am no Hawkgirl anymore."

"That's nonsense. Because of you, Earth still exists. You were the one who saved the day."

"No. It's because of me that the Thanagarians almost destroyed this planet. I'm the problem."

"You give yourself too much credit. They were going to come anyway, regardless of wether or not you were on their side or not."

"I could have refused to scout Earth." Shayera tried to counter.

"Right, since that would have given us a Thanagarian that did not mind letting us all die."

Shayera tried to come up with another comeback but fell short.

"Stop trying to make yourself guilty. Everything that happened was out of your control and anyone who does not see it that way is blind" Batman stated while rising from his armchair.

"How can you be the one to show me kindness. You were about to die because of me."

There was a moment of silence in which the two stared at each other when Bruce finally spoke again.

"It's part of the job" he glowered while walking past Shayera.

His mood had shifted a bit. He was cheerful earlier, well as cheery as Batman gets, but now any trace of happiness has disappeared.

"Come with me" Batman said, breaking Shayera out of thought.

Batman walked back up the stairs and into the room she was staying in. He then picked up the mask and handed it to her. Instantly, Shayera got uncomfortable and looked pleadingly at Batman.

"Put it on."

"But-I-I can't!"

"There's no point denying who you are. You are Hawkgirl, stop trying to deny it. Nothing is different. You have always done your duty and that has not stopped now."

"I failed everyone I care about."

"If that did happen, we would all be dead."

Shayera looked down at the ground-lost for words.

"Put on the mask."

She did not resist anymore. Slowly she raised the helmet and placed it over her head. It was very comfortable-like everything else-but her guilt was rising more and more.

"That's better" Batman said. His face had not changed throughout their back and forth. Neither had the tone of his voice. He was very...stoic.

"You can take it off now, it's time to a eat."

"Why did you have it me put it on then?" Shayera said with a pinch of sarcasm.

"Well now you have your closure, or at least a little more of it, and, I've seen how the suit looks altogether. I think I did well...

Shayera smirked a bit at Batman's self-praise

...and lastly, there's only enough room for one brooding, and depressed person in this house."
