Because until you pretend you don't have a heart, you don't love, you can't get hurt. But there's only so much he can bear, and he may lose her even without having never actually had her. Oliver/Felicity.

Oliver goes on a business trip for a couple of days without his IT girl/executive assistant. Who comes in to take his place at QC? How will Felicity take it?

My small take on the "Felicity gets hurt and Oliver has to deal with his feelings" scenario - with Digg dosing out his usual wisdom to both parties.
