Chapter 34: SAN DIEGO
Harry went back to his office in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, after a long day of training. They changed a bit in the general idea of their military. Every corp would have two wizards in case they needed more firepower. They called in every soldier as they had to train them in the Northern Doctrine which was what they called the brand new reforms. They sent their new reforms to Mexico and Canada so they could also fight effectively. It was extremely important for Mexico to be extremely powerful if not one of the most powerful countries on their side because South America and Central America was mainly on Voldemort's side. So far Mexico had been able to push down to Costa Rica, but they were stopped when a large force of Brazilian Soldiers entrenched themselves in the narrow lands of Panama.
Harry entered his office where Ginny, Daphne and Draco were all sitting with Sirius and Perla in a worried discussion.
"What has happened?" Harry's deep voice asked.
"Voldemort did what he did for Germany. He killed the leader of America and placed his own Death Eater in power. We just got word from Madisson who is currently the person in command of the Mexican Army that America mustered 500,000 soldiers to fight Mexico and Canada. The best part is the fact that the Mexicans already finished training their soldiers as they have less than us even though they have millions. They moved 200,000 soldiers from Panama to America quickly while they gathered 3 million soldiers with millions more coming to the North where they are stopping the American invasion." Sirius said.
"At least America won't steal tacos," Harry muttered. Sirius cracked a smile.
"No they won't. I'm pretty sure Mexico is about to steal Hamburgers," Draco said with a grin.
"I wonder what our soldiers would say if they saw their generals, King, Queen, Leader of the Army, Leader of the spy agency, the Duke of Normandy who is also the Duke of Nottingham acting this way in private and during a meeting," Daphne said with a grin.
"Fair point." Perla said as she looked at the boys with a disapproving face.
"Sirius started it!" Harry and Draco said at the same time which caused the room to dissolve into laughter.
"You two will be twins when Draco dyes his hair black and his eyes become green," Ginny said with a smile.
"True, but that will be the day that the world is ruined as we would most likely destroy every person in the world with pranks," Harry said as he grinned.
"That we would." Draco said.
"I fear for when I leave you two home alone. It would probably result in the entire Manor burning down. And I lived with the twins." Ginny said with a sigh.
"At least if we burn the house down there won't be a house for people to rob and we wouldn't have to defend the house like some 8 year old. I would gladly be a robber again," Harry said with a grin as Draco also grinned at the reference.
"I feel like there is a reference that I'm not understanding," Daphne said with a smile.
"No there isn't any at all," Draco said.
"Bloody idiots," Perla muttered before speaking more loudly."Should we send soldiers to America and see how our new system works?"
"That could be a good idea." Harry said with a nod.
"If you go can we both go too?" Daphne asked.
"It'll do you no good if you aren't used to the gore and violence of battle." Draco said with a nod.
"It's settled. Sirius, can you form a group of 500,000 soldiers to be sent to Mexico so that we can break through the tank and trench lines America has set up?" Harry asked.
"Yes I'll see to it after we finish," Sirius said with a nod.
"I think that is it." Perla said. The others nodded their agreement before they said their goodbyes and left.
"Well, that went well. We're going to Mexico in two weeks." Daphne said with a smile.
"It's not going to be all sunshine and rainbows. We have to fight while we are there." Draco reprimanded.
"I'll just think of it as a vacation." Ginny said before she stood up and left. Daphne soon followed, leaving Harry and Draco.
"I'm a bit worried for them," Draco said.
"I'm also worried. They think about it as if it was a vacation. I don't think they experienced enough." Harry said with a sigh escaping his lips.
"The only thing they know or saw from the war is that Russians throw themselves at the enemy and that the Germans create extremely crazy and insane weapons and take lots of risks." Draco said with a chuckle.
"That is quite accurate. They haven't faced a major battle between two superpowers. We are currently in a war with 8 superpowers yet they still don't realize that war is not pretty. The only wars they have fought in were the British civil war and the Hogwarts Civil War. In Hogwarts it was just a stunner and other hexes. During the civil war we were killing people. Yes we were. That is not even comparable to the burning bodies, people that were raped, people that were executed, genocides, forced labor, slavery and the reinstated gulags that we've seen in this war." Harry said darkly.
"Indeed. I think I'm going to go to my office so I can make plans and orders for Mexico," Draco said before standing up and walking out of Harry's office. Harry sat there for an hour just thinking about their newest mission.
This was certainly going to be a dangerous mission. Ginny and Daphne had little to no experience in a war that was between two major powers. As soon as the civil war began England became less of a strong country. Harry immediately knew what he had to do in order to fight effectively.
The four of them took their OWL in the beginning of the year so they were pretty much free to do whatever they wanted. It wasn't exactly necessary to stay at Hogwarts as they only had a few months before summer began. The plan was that all the soldiers would be sent to Heroica Veracruz. Then they would be transported to the border with the Americans. After that they would push into the country.
Heroice Veracruz
They made it to Mexico at night on the 3rd of May. They got out of the ship that was carrying them quickly and out onto the docks. That was when Harry stopped them and began to speak.
"I don't care what you say. You will follow orders and you will not be disobeying unless I say it is okay. Am I clear?" Harry asked seriously.
"Crystal," Ginny said while Daphne nodded. Harry nodded and led them to their tank which was a new version. The Tiger tank was extremely powerful and would be able to dominate the battlefield easily. They managed to bring most of their stockpile of Tiger tanks.
Instead of being quite fast like the Panthers they gave the tank extremely thick armor and powerful guns. They were still 40 Kilometers fast which was 25 miles. They got into the tank quickly which had different roles.
The gunner was now the commander meaning they would be able to shoot where they wanted. Draco would be responding to the radio while also being in charge of the machine guns as the tank was auto loading. Ginny would drive and Daphne would spot the enemies.
After they were assured that everyone was ready to head north they turned the tank on. Harry looked at the direction they were heading to and swore. There was a missile heading straight to their position. They only had one thing they could use to defend themselves.
One Week Ago
North Port, Scotland
"So this idea is supposed to be able to defend the tanks from the enemies' tactics?" Harry asked in confusion as he looked at a diagram.
"Yes, Harry. The idea of this is that we place the Launcher inside of the tank. The Tiger tank will be equipped with a certain missile. The missile will basically capture the missile and with the help of a few runes it will track back to where it was shot from. The missile that is shot will banish the missile back to the place it was first shot from. It will then detinate on the enemy. We could also use Fiendfire Missiles which will incinerate the missile before it hits." Remus said who was in charge of designing tanks with the help of Sirius."All we need to do before we start production is the funding."
"And this will immediately destroy the enemy missile?" Harry asked.
"The Fiendfire missile will do so, yes." Remus said with a nod.
"I'll give you 50 million galleons to start with, then we'll give you like monthly funding to produce them." Harry said with a grin as he began to write a letter.
"Thank you," Remus said.
Veracruz, Mexico
"I'm about to capture the missile, don't shoot." Harry ordered through the radio. He pressed a blue button on the side of the ammo rack which loaded a large missile that had a blue tip.
A hatch opened on the back of the tank and shot the missile out of it with a large explosion of smoke and sparks. Harry began to control the missile through a recorder orb which was attached to the missile and recorder glass. He pressed another button which opened the missile which took the missile and put it into the friendly missile. In a show that shocked the Mexican soldiers, tanks and the Scottish as well it shot the missile that was heading to them. Instead of going back to them it went north and shot up with extreme speed.
The rocket with the blue tip began to slow down and began to ascend down back to the Tiger. The hatch opened again and the rocket gently lowered itself back into the tank. The hatch closed and the rocket was stored back into a rack to cool down. After everybody regained their senses they continued to drive north.
Texas, United States
They made it into the US after many hours. They hadn't met any resistance, but it was only a matter of time before they met enemies. Crossing the border was quite easy as all they needed were a few rockets. They were only in Texas for 5 hours and they were about to get to San Antonio. There were 3 thousand corps going into San Antonio or around 180 thousand soldiers. After they captured San Antonio they would go to Dallas and Fort Worth while a force would go to Houston and Austin. After that they were to go into New Mexico, Arizona and into California where they would be supported by a large Mexican force going into San Diego and Los Angeles before going to San Francisco and Sacramento. They would go into Oregon and capture Portland to meet up with the Canadians who were currently attacking Washington and were approaching Seattle. There were a few towns on the Columbia river that they were going to have to take such as Hood River and The Dalles which were most likely going to be fortified.
They would have to continue down the river and once again meet up with the Canadians on the Snake river. Well north of Boise. They were to go into Wyoming while Canada went into Montana. They were to enter Nebraska and Kansas then they would go into Oklahoma where they would meet with the force that attacked Austin. This would encircle a large portion of the country before they Blitzkrieged the east coast.
It wasn't fail proof as Germans or Russians could arrive any moment. That's why they had to be fast while doing it. The Germans were currently dealing with the problem of Prussia as they were currently fighting a brutal battle in Dresden. They had been fighting since February. There was still no sign of any side losing the battle. About a million had died during the time. Just like Stalingrad during the second world war the Germans were encircled. The Germans had managed to build tunnels underground to keep pouring men and supplies in.
They entered the city of San Antonio and were immediately under fire. A machine gun kept trying to destroy the tank, but it didn't work. The infantry of their corp went behind the tanks for cover and scattered into the buildings. Harry sighed in annoyance. He squeezed the trigger and a large burst of flames shot out of the barrel. The place where the machine gun exploded and someone's arm flew down onto the street. Harry looked at it in disgust before ordering everyone to continue.
In a group they pushed around the city. Through the radar they knew that there was a large group of enemies downtown. With the help of four other groups they encircled the large group. The large group of 20 thousand soldiers and 50 tanks were fighting ferociously to escape with their lives. They knew they had to take out Texas before the Americans could mobilize more and more. They knew that by the time they hit the east coast the Germans would be arriving with giant numbers.
Harry squeezed the trigger and a large explosion shot from the large cannon. The tank that was trying to destroy a friendly tiger was caught off guard and blew up after the shell hit the gas tank. Harry grinned triumphantly when he smelled the stench of burning flesh. Ginny and Daphne gagged in disgust.
"You see why I didn't want you two to come with us." Harry explained before they continued into downtown.
"We're fine in combat." Ginny argued.
"No you're not, you have weak stomachs. You either get used to it or you leave. NO ARGUMENTS!" Harry yelled in annoyance before ordering them to continue.
Harry ignored their complaints and aimed his barrel at a certain pipe on a Panzer three. Everyone was confused as to what he was about to do. Usually he would aim closer to the ammo rack or gas tank, but he was aiming at a pipe. He squeezed the trigger as soon as the enemies spotted them.
The pipe busted and black oil spilled out onto the street surrounding it. The thing was that a spark shot off the shell and ignited the oil in flames. A ring of fire burned around the tank and a small fire spread into the cockpit where a distinct smell of burning flesh oozed out. Ginny gagged in disgust while grabbing a throw up bag as Daphne did the same. They emptied their stomachs and looked at Harry and Draco to see if they were going to do the same. They were shocked when the two didn't show any reaction.
Harry sighed and quickly ordered them to move forward without allowing them time to collect themselves."That's why you have to get used to it. Me and Draco are used to it so we don't really react. You however react to it. What happens when there is a soldier aiming down his barrel at your head. You're dead. Now move."
California
Two weeks later
Moving through Texas was misery. They kept being attacked from all sides as the citizens were armed and didn't take kindly to being invaded. New Mexico wasn't that bad except for Albuquerque which was taken after two days. Ginny and Daphne managed to not barf every time they smelt the stench of death. They still gagged, but it was progress. Arizona was a hellhole. It was steaming hot the whole time and it took a long time to move through the desert.
They were now in San Diego, California. They were only supporting as the Mexicans were being held up in San Diego. They had been fighting for like a week and a half. So far nothing has happened. Five hundred thousand Americans died while two hundred thousand Mexicans were killed. At one point the Mexican Minister called him to ask if he was allowed to pull out of San Diego and launch a nuke at it. Harry of course declined and said they would nuke the mars with it to kill all the aliens. Of course he took that literally and launched five nukes at Mars and the Moon. To this day Harry still cursed the name Santa Cruz.
"Burnley! Take your team and push into Coronado from Chula Vista! We're capturing their naval base!" Harry ordered as his team captured the main radio towers and deactivated them.
While they were in Alpine a large supply of new Cougar tanks came to North America. They were in one of the teams that was equipped with them. They were much faster and smaller, but they still had strong armor and heavy guns. They were very reliable; only a few had broken down while in the mountains. They had landed a few tanks on the other side of the Harbor. This meant that there were very few ships still in the port since they left to engage the Mexican fleet.
The Mexican government created a massive naval base in Puerto Vallarta at the start of the war to fight Chinese vessels in the Pacific. Now they were being used to fight the large American fleet in the Pacific and Atlantic.
As the first explosions and cannon fire of the naval battle began, so did the advance into the center of San Diego. The Americans expected them to take Los Angeles to surround San Diego to take the Naval base. This meant that there were zero tanks and a few soldiers who were watching people construct the fortifications. Harry didn't know where the logic went in the American's brain, but it left.
They passed a few dead bodies which were caused by a few well aimed air strikes from Helicopters in Tijuana. This was a normal thing to see everyday in the war. Of course the girls turned green as they were somewhat used to it now. They left a trail of blood and bodies in the path. Harry looked to his left and grimaced. It was pure carnage happening in the ocean.
The OCEAN ooh scary
Sirius grimaced as he looked at a sailor without a head. This time they had way more naval bombers and fighters unlike the Battle of the Finish Gulf where there were more ships instead of planes. The Mexican navy was less prioritized by the government, but they were getting stronger with the Scottish help in building ships. They still didn't have battleships built, but they were almost done. They were naming the ships after random places in Mexico. This was made possible by spells which helped them.
The Guadalajara class of battleships were about to be finished in around a few days meaning they were going to be ready for battles further north like in Los Angeles and Portland.
A few cruisers were sunk while two battleships were destroyed by the Americans. Even though he wasn't a big navy person Sirius was still calling shots. He ordered a battleship to be brought down immediately before calling the aircraft carrier. It was a bit pointless to have a carrier if you don't have planes so they targeted it later than normal.
The Mexican Navy wasn't a bad one. It was one of the best; it was just neglected by the Mexican Armed Forces. Scotland focused on the navy because it was an island. The Mexicans have the advantage of having the world's largest army in terms of size with a total of 20 million currently in service with another 40 million coming soon. This was because they had a giant baby boom the year Harry went to Hogwarts. Ever since the magical world merged with the muggle world they began to use potions which made the pregnancy time quicker to seven months instead of nine.
8PM San Diego
Harry looked into the air after wiping the sweat from his brow. The battle was won after a few hours in a battle between 20,000 Americans and 6,000 Mexicans and Scottish. The sky was a light orange from all the fire after the smoke cleared up. The sea was an inferno with flames covering the surface. The Airport was starting to be repaired as was the port after a few heavy bombings.
"Is it over?" Ginny asked as she got out of their tank. She was green in the face.
"Yeah…yeah it is." Harry said absentmindedly.
"What are you thinking about?" Ginny asked.
"Do you understand why I didn't want you two to come?" Harry said seriously.
"Yes and to be honest I don't know why we came." Ginny said as she closed her eyes tiredly.
"Alright rest up, we're going to Los Angeles tomorrow." Harry said as he conjured a tent that he entered tiredly.
AN: Wow I actually made another chapter. I'm not ending the story any time soon. I just needed a break from writing(even though I didn't actually stop, I just didn't write on this story). I was fine during the Summer then the new school year hit and my mind just farted. During Spring I was fine because I actually had a decent schedule to write in. Now I just threw it away because I have lots of things to do. I just didn't want to deal with the stress of writing with the stress of having to do school. But I'm back now with a very, very short bang. I'll try to write more and finish this story even though I never seem to be able to. - Lord Tortue
