'I would rewrite the universe for you, though,' he says. It's a romantic and touching statement, she thinks, and there's that little tug in her chest, small smile forming on her lips. But then she laughs. 'Oh please,' she says, voice muffled by the toothpaste foam. 'You wouldn't even give me the last cookie at dinner.'

Barry thought he was done with love. He'd missed all his chances, never getting past the 'unrequited' stage. So he filled his life with routines to convince himself he was okay. He hadn't anticipated one of those routines would eventually sabotage him and turn his whole life around, but sometimes you need to live in a lie to be able to see the truth. He learned that the hard way.
