So originally I was planning that Arctica was going to eat her troat by shaving off bits of flesh with her fingers and using her thumb and forfinger to lower the bits into her mouth partly inspired by the Medievil Table Manners episode of the YouTube series Tasting History with Max Miller and because I thought her sabreteeth would prevent her from eating normally but upon further reflection I realized this probably wouldn't be the case afterall the actual Sabretooth Cat was able to eat just fine.
Knowing that Arctica would probobly be hungry enough to need an entire trout to herself (After all the phrase isn't 'wolf it down' for nothing) Don searched for another troat to tickle, after finding one he built a fire, (Arctica was feeling deeply ashamed for the fact she had no wilderness survival skill other than her own brutal lupine instincts) and as soon as their food was cooked they settled down to have a late breakfast.
And while they had a different amount of time eating only Nutrigruel at the moment it was the most Heavenly food in the world to them!
Neither spoke while they ate they were too busy devouring their food, but finally when nothing was left but the bones, they both laid back to digest.
"So..." Don said "...You mentioned you have voices in your head, they told you I would believe your story...What else did they tell you? Any advice about how to get these collars off?"
Arctica sighed "I did ask..." She said "...All the voices said was to once again find the train that took that took me to this world in the first place."
"You came here by...Train?" Don asked raising an eyeridge,
"It was a magic train!" Arctica said "It was called The Twilight Express, it took me here...But I heard the message that if I ever want to come home again, I must catch the train at a place where the Heavens meet the Earth."
"Great..." Don sighed "...What the shell does that mean?"
"Well..." Arctica said beginning to think "...It could mean we must climb a mountain...Notice the message said 'A' place where the Heavens meet the Earth not 'The' place implying more than one...I hope that's what they mean it certainly would be easier than traveling to what is sometimes called 'The Roof of the World' the North Pole...I mean as an Arctic Creature I wouldn't mind going there but I have a feeling it would be difficult for you."
"Yeah." Don said "The cold blooded thing means I'm not well suited for the Arctic Circle..." Sitting up "Since we're in New York the closest mountains are the Appilachians they aren't the tallest mountains but hopefully they're tall enough to count...Whatever the case we better start moving before...
Arctica stood up straight for the first time, and Don realized that the entire time they were in the lab Arctica had almost always been either sitting on her haunces like a normal wolf or otherwise hunched over when he was facing her, she had an enormous ruff of white fur on her chest that did a good job of concealing her small breasts but now he could see she indeed had them.
"Ooh..." Don said blushing and turning away "...But first I need to find you some clothes ASAP."
There were some suburban houses on the edge of the forest and while he didn't like having to steal from innocent humans, Don didn't have much of a choice and he snagged a pure white nightgown off a laundry line
Arctica put on the nightgown, obviously since this was made for a human it didn't have a hole for her tail and as much as she would hate to destroy someone else's property she felt she would soon have to cut of hole for her tail or she felt she would go crazy! Also this was a particurally long nightgown it went down to her ankes, however it didn't have sleeves she felt she was warm enough under her fur already!
In my Mizzer Stories on Fictionpress I establish that Humanimals, at least furry and feathery ones who live in warmer climates are more cranky that those who live in colder climates because they have to wear clothes over an already insulating layer of fur or feathers in the middle of summer
