Xtreme Torture
The sun entered through a small gap between the curtain and the window, making her woke up. It was the first time she had slept without setting her alarm clock.
"7:50 am? I guess that's the best I can do with my circadian rhythms," the girl said, stretching. She then kissed the wooden skull on her nightstand. "Good morning, ugly thing."
She couldn't believe he had given her a carved skull. What was he thinking? But Courtney decided to not judge Duncan. She would live her life without rules as a new and freer Courtney.
The Latin girl untied her ponytail, undressed, and entered the shower without preheating it, enjoying the cold water falling over her. She giggled and blushed, thinking about what had happened yesterday. Her first kiss and her first boyfriend. It was more surreal than Dali's Persistence of Memory.
For a brief moment, she remembered her elimination but decided to not think about it. She wanted to have a good time and not be obsessed with those kinds of things. She brushed her hair and opened her closet to choose her outfit.
"All the clothes are the same shirts, capris, and sweaters. At least I don't need to think about what I should wear," she then put on her clothes and looked at herself in the mirror.
"Not looking too shabby. I can't believe they got exactly the size I asked," she said, looking at her image in the mirror, after that Courtney posed like a model. "Just look at you, you're so pretty."
She then giggled. Courtney never thought a lot about being pretty or not. Her looks were only another tool in her arsenal. But dating Duncan made her feel pretty … it was a weird and warm feeling.
The CIT then went out of the room. She was the 6th girl eliminated.
"I'm neither part of the best nor the worst ones," she shrugged and went into the elevator. "It's a nice placement."
The elevator had a weird pop song. It was bad, but probably Chris didn't pay a lot for it.
"Na,na,na,na,na,na,na. Is there a cheaper way to fill the lyrics in a song?" she said, chuckling.
Courtney walked through the hallway and went to the cafeteria. Before entering, she took a deep breath. It was the moment to make her debut. Yesterday didn't count. Today was HER day.
She opened the door and stepped inside, but it was emptier than she expected. Only Tyler and Beth were there. And Beth was walking outside carrying a tray with some milk and a bowl of oatmeal.
"Good Morning," said Beth as she exited the room.
"Hello" said Courtney waving. She decided to not interrupt the brunette girl and walked in the opposite direction. "Good morning Tyler."
"H-hello," Tyler was startled, not expecting the greeting. Yes, he and Courtney were both in the Basses but weren't exactly friends. He then looked again at his breakfast.
Courtney looked at it. He had some toasts and a brown cube. "what is that?"
"I don't know. I'm wondering about it," said Tyler, rubbing his chin.
"Why did you take that for breakfast if you don't know what it is?" asked Courtney tilting her head.
"I didn't ask for it ,it's … you'll understand once you ask for your breakfast," Tyler scratched his head but didn't find a good way to tell the CIT about what happened.
"Ok, I'll be right back," Courtney walked toward the kitchen's bar. Behind it was a tall blond woman dressed as an intern, who looked at Courtney and smiled.
"Good Morning, I'm Helga" said the intern.
Courtney offered her a handshake. "Nice to meet you. I'm Courtney."
"Hva har du lyst på til frokost?" said Helga, winking.
"Entschuldigung, sprechen Sie Deutsch? German?" asked Courtney in a lower voice.
Helga just made a big smile. "Jeg kan ikke forstå deg." She then gave her a tray with milk, a brown cube and toasts. "Jeg antar at du vil ha frokosten din, så her er den."
"T-thank you," said Courtney, changing the milk for orange juice. She then went back and sat with Tyler. "Do you understand what she's saying?"
"No, but the breakfast isn't that bad. This brown thing is great in a toast," said Tyler shrugging and eating a little.
Courtney cut the top of the brown cube and tasted it. "It's cheese."
"Really? I think it tastes more like pate," said Tyler shrugging and eating some more.
The CIT freaked for a moment but made an effort to calm down. She then took out some pills from her bag and swallowed them.
"Are you sick?" asked Tyler tilting his head.
Courtney shook her head. "No is lactase. It helps me with my lactose intolerance."
"Anything that helps you be more tolerant is great in my book." Tyler gave her two thumbs up. Courtney just deadpanned at him.
"Anyway this breakfast isn't that bad, especially compared with Chef's cooking," Courtney chuckled, covering her mouth. "He was terrible."
Tyler also chuckled. "I already forgot about his food. It was pretty nasty." He then remembered he was talking with Courtney and raised an eyebrow. "And are you ok?"
"Yes, in fact, I'm better than ever," said Courtney making a big smile and drinking her juice. "By the way, I want to apologize. I was so insufferable during the competition, so I'm sorry if I offended you in any way."
"I don't think you were really in surfer able, but you were really full of yourself," said Tyler, nodding.
Courtney sighed. "Yes, and I'm sorry. Also for any other negative attitude I had toward you."
"Well, you were patronizing, bratty, whinny, and pushy," Tyler continued, not realizing the tick on Courtney's eye.
The jock then smiled, "But no problem dude, no hard feelings. But what with the new attitude?"
Courtney blushed and giggled. "Well, after some good things happened, I realized I needed to relax a lot. Not all in life is about rules and following your mother's orders."
"Wow, so in the end, you get the boy. Nice play!" said Tyler winking.
"I-I never mentioned any boy! Don't be silly…" Courtney blushed but kept a wide smile on her face.
As they talked, Katie and Eva entered the cafeteria. As soon as her eyes met Courtney's, Eva's expression darkened.
"You have a lot of guts to show your face on my turf, CIT," said the European girl cracking her knuckles.
"Y-Your turf, I didn't know this was your turf," said Courtney raising her hands.
Eva smirked. "All the resort is my turf."
"That's absurd. That means I shouldn't go out of my room?"
"I see you're not as dumb as I thought."
"Look Eva," Courtney raised her hands defensibly. "I know we didn't end on the best terms, but believe me, I'm sorry if sometimes I acted arrogantly or unbearable."
Eva smiled. "So you regret eliminating me?"
Courtney bit her lip and frowned. "No, that's different. You were out of control, so you needed to go. I wish it wasn't like that, but it's the truth."
"Well, Miss CIT, then I wish I didn't have to do this, but it's your own fault," Eva took Courtney's juice and tried to pour it on the CIT's head, but it was empty. "What, did you finish your breakfast?"
"How DARE you!? I know you're angry, but that was a petty move," Courtney put her hands on her hips and faced Eva. "You should be ashamed! Also, I'm apologizing. What more I can do. I know you're unfairly angry, but that attitude will not hel…"
Before the CIT could end her sentence, Eva punched her. The impact sent Courtney flying through the open window and into the pool.
"For starters, just shut up," said Eva shaking her hands.
"Wasn't that a little excessive?" said Katie, looking worried through the window.
Eva glared at her. "Are you taking her side?"
"Chill out Eva," said Tyler, walking between Katie and her. "I think Katie means that maybe Courtney regrets what she did. Shouldn't you give her a chance?"
"NEVER! What I'll give her is hell!" said Eva, hitting her hand with a fist. "but that will be after breakfast."
Eva walked to the kitchen while Katie looked at her frowning, wondering about what to do. Eva's anger dominated her again, and Katie didn't know how to help her.
While she was thinking about this, Sadie entered the room. She seemed completely exhausted. "Did I miss something?"
"Yes Sadie, you miss a lot," said Katie rubbing her chin. "But the most important thing is that Eva needs us, and I don't know what to do."
"We can think about it after resting and taking breakfast. Right now, I'm so tired I can't think about anything else," said Sadie, sitting at a table and resting her head on it.
Katie's eyes sparkled. "Sadie that's it, that's how we can help her! You're a genius."
"Am I?"
"Yes, thank you, I'm, so glad to have you as my BFFFL!"
Katie hugged Sadie and then looked at Eva. "Now I just need to make a plan to help Eva. And I know the right person to help me with that plan."
Sadie nodded. "Ok, let's do this, but first let's have breakfast."
Both BFFFL cheered for their own different reasons. One focused on her breakfast and the other on helping her friend. Meanwhile, Tyler went to help Courtney to get out of the pool.
Sometime later in the infirmary, Cody was resting next to Courtney, who had a black eye. Since she arrived, the CIT had been talking non-stop about what had happened. The brunette guy still had his right arm and both legs bandaged.
"-and then she punched me into the pool. PUNCHED ME! I can't believe she can be so reckless, and just because we voted her off the game," said Courtney rolling her eyes.
"Yes, sounds awful," said Cody, who wasn't paying attention. He had already listened to her the first two times. "But maybe instead of focusing on what happened, you should focus on what to do from now on."
Courtney's jaw dropped. "What to do from now on? The one focusing on that is Eva. I'm the victim!"
"I know, but I don't think Eva will stop, so you need to find a way to make her stop, that or you need to start hiding in your room," said Cody, who then grinned, showing the gap between his teeth. "Or if you want, you can hide in my bed."
"Hahaha, thanks for the offering, but I don't think my BOYFRIEND would appreciate it," said Courtney, blushing, but her face beaming.
Cody snapped his fingers. "You have a boyfriend? Darn it."
"Hehehe," Courtney chuckled, still getting used to being in a relationship. "By the way do you want to go out and walk around the pool? You need some sun to activate the Vitamin D in your organism."
"I would love it, but I can't," said Cody pointing at his legs.
She rolled her eyes and stood up from her bed. "I know. That's why we need a wheelchair." Courtney walked toward a door in the infirmary. "They must have one in the storeroom."
"I don't think so. I have been here more than a week and…"
"Found it!"
"Ok, then there is a wheelchair," said Cody sighing. Why he didn't think about this?
"Now let's go. If we go now, you can enjoy some more hours of daylight," said Courtney winking.
Cody nodded, and with her help, he sat in the wheelchair. This Courtney wasn't as bad as he expected. Maybe it was because she was eliminated.
The next day Eva woke up and began her morning routine. Yesterday that CIT kept hiding after she hit her, but it didn't matter, she would find her today and keep her revenge going. These would be some fun weeks.
Eva went out of her room and to her surprise, only Katie was there.
"What? At last your friend gave up?" asked Eva, folding her arms.
"Oh no, she wasn't like feeling ok, so she'll sleep a little more, don't worry about her," said Katie, giggling. She was a bad liar.
Lucky for her, Eva didn't mind it. "Whatever, let's go then."
The two girls went down using the elevator, Sadie spying them through Katie's room.
"Now it's time to wait for Courtney," Sadie sighed, looking at the CIT's room. "I hope this plan works."
Katie and Eva went down to the lobby and began their routine, jogging around the island. Without Sadie they went completely silent, with Eva frowning and glaring more than usual.
It was time for Katie to try their plan.
"Hey Eva, can I ask you a question?" said Katie, in a voice lower than her usual.
"Do whatever you want," said Eva in a harsh tone, "But you know what will happen if it's an annoying question."
Katie gulped and after a moment of hesitation, decided to do it. "Don't you think you already got your revenge on Courtney?"
"WHAT? HA! I'm just starting."
"B-But she's already eliminated, and you already hit her and threw her into the pool two times. Even if you keep beating her, you won't go back to the game."
"I won't be back but I feel better. That loudmouthed and arrogant CIT mocked me during the game and voted for me, the same as her blonde bitch friend. I'll get my revenge on them and maybe also the rest of those bastards that eliminated me," said Eva cracking her knuckles.
Katie twiddled her fingers. "But do you really want to make her suffer like that?"
"What's your problem, pigtails? Are you taking her side?" Eva jabbed her finger at Katie's chest, hurting her.
"Ouch, no, I'm not taking sides," Katie rubbed her chest, frowning at Eva. "I'm just worried you're letting your anger take control."
Eva glared at her. "Well, Miss busybody, you don't have ANYTHING to worry about because I'm under control. I just don't like that girl's guts."
"I know, but you're better than that, and you're just acting like a bully for the sake of revenge," said Katie, sighing sadly.
Eva kept quiet for a moment, what Katie said made sense, but if she accepted it or not was a mystery.
"Whatever, if you're done nagging, let's hurry up. We just waste a lot of time here," said Eva, jogging again.
Katie sighed, hoping Sadie had better luck.
Meanwhile, Courtney woke up and did the same routine as the day before, only this time she took some time to make up her black eye. It didn't disappear, but at least it didn't look so bad. However, when she went out of the room, Sadie was there.
"Good morning Courtney," said Sadie, not really sure about Katie's plan.
"Oh hi Sadie, fancy meeting," said Courtney waving. "I was about to take breakfast. Do you want to join me?"
Sadie nodded and said mechanically, "Oh yes, I love to take breakfast. Let's go."
Courtney frowned but went with her. They didn't talk a lot, and there was an awkward atmosphere around them. After going into the cafeteria both got their breakfast from Helga and sat together.
"Scrambled eggs and salmon, I thought this was supposed to be a buffet. I should talk with the mana…" Courtney then realized what she was saying and cleared her throat. "I mean I would prefer a different breakfast."
"I know, but this isn't that bad," said Sadie, enjoying her eggs.
On the cafeteria's screens was the talent show episode.
"I was really bossy right?" asked Courtney, making a sad smile.
"Totally," replied Sadie, not thinking about her answer.
"WHAT?" Courtney looked at her with wide eyes. "You're supposed to answer 'you weren't that bad,' it's common courtesy!"
Sadie frowned. "Sorry? You asked if you were bossy, and you were like totally bossy. Why should I tell you you weren't? That would be lying."
"I know, but if I ask it like that it means I realize my mistake so…"
"Are you asking me to lie?"
"No, I don't but…"
"Then you were totally bossy."
Courtney opened her mouth and closed it. Being laid back was harder than she thought.
Sadie realized it was her chance to enact Katie's plan. "But you can change. Why don't you try to apologize to Eva, for starters?"
"Are you saying I have to apologize? For what, hitting her fist with my eye?" asked Courtney in a distressed tone.
"Hahaha, of course not," Sadie chuckled, finding Courtney's 'joke' really fun. "But she felts you mocked her during her elimination and also told her she had anger issues…"
"Because she HAS anger issues."
"Yes, but there are better ways to say it. Why don't you try to be the bigger person?" asked Sadie, who thought there is no way this will work.
Courtney rubbed her chin and smiled. "Ok let's try."
"Oh my gosh, really?" asked Sadie covering her mouth.
"I don't think my relationship with her can get worse," said Courtney, shrugging.
Sadie clapped happily. "That's the attitude. I'm sure Eva will forgive you … probably."
Now they just need to wait for Eva and Katie.
But before they arrived, it was Noah the one who entered the cafeteria.
Sadie waved at him, and Courtney nodded. He went and picked his breakfast, only that instead of only juice, he had milk and a cup of coffee on his tray.
"C'mon Noah, sit with us," said Sadie waving.
The Indian guy rolled his eyes and sat with them.
"Hello, I'm Courtney. Nice to meet you," said Courtney offering him a handshake.
"I know I see you on tv," said Noah in a snarky tone. He then gave her a weak handshake. "I'm Noah."
"Ugh, you're supposed to give the handshake with firmness," said Courtney, frowning.
Noah rolled his eyes. "Sorry, I forgot this was the embassy."
"That snarky attitude is what cost you the game," said Courtney, folding her arms.
"Are you seriously telling me that while sitting on loser's island? It seems the only CIT went out on 12th place," Noah smirked, his eyes locked on Courtney's.
The CIT's jaw dropped. "How dare you! At least I wasn't the first one eliminated from my team."
"Maybe, but at least I wasn't played by that punk like a fiddle," Noah folded his arms.
"TAKE THAT BACK!" Courtney stood up, hitting the table with both hands. "There was no way Duncan betrayed me."
Noah sighed. "There were only 6 basses in your elimination. Even if the nerd and the surfer girl voted for you, they need an extra vote to eliminate you."
"Bridgette would never vote for me," said Courtney, her voice cracking.
"Then unless you vote for yourself, the other 4 voted for you. Case closed," said Noah shrugging.
Courtney's pupils shrinked, and after a second she hit her head against the table. Sadie looked at her, worried.
"Noah, that was too mean," said the BFFFL.
"It's better to accept reality now, also is better she realizes what happened before the punk is eliminated," Noah kept eating his breakfast.
Sadie rubbed Courtney's back, but there was no response. She was trembling now and then.
"Yes but there should be a better way to tell…"
As Sadie was talking, Eva and Katie entered the cafeteria. The European girl glared daggers at the CIT.
"Please Eva, just give her a chance," said Katie, joining her hands.
"I'll do whatever I want," said Eva, walking toward the table.
Eva looked down at Sadie. "So you didn't come to jog because you were playing with the CIT and Egghead, eh pigtails 2."
"Stop it Eva. I'm not in the mood," Courtney said, her voice completely neutral.
"And when did it matter if you were in the mood or not?" Eva scoffed and punched the table.
Before Eva could react Courtney hit her in the head with the tray. The CIT had tears running across her cheeks, but her expression was pure anger.
"I told you to leave me alone," said Courtney in the same cold voice.
"You're dead," said Eva, standing up and cracking her neck.
"Hey you two, wait at least until…" Noah stood up quickly, not wanting to stay in the middle of their fight.
But it was too late, Eva kicked the table and hit Noah in the chin while Courtney avoided it, the flying table falling into the kitchen. Sadie stood up and ran toward Katie.
"We need to stop them," said Sadie, looking at them with wide eyes.
"Yes, but how?" replied Katie.
Courtney threw a chair against Eva, hitting her in the arm. The strong girl tried to tackle her, but Courtney used the chairs and tables to keep her distance.
Helga went out of the kitchen with her hair disheveled and a big bump on her head.
"Hvem kastet det bordet?" said the blonde girl in a harsh tone.
However Eva and Courtney ignored her, The European girl hitting the CIT with a chair.
Helga ran and tackled Eva, glaring at her.
"Ro deg ned, dette er ikke et sted å slåss," said Helga in the same tone.
Eva pushed Helga off her with a kick. "Stay out of this. This is between that noisy girl and me."
But before Eva could react, Courtney hit her with another chair.
"I believe him. I gave him my first kiss. I was so stupid," said Courtney as she hit Eva with the chair again and again.
Eva held the chair and pushed it and Courtney to the ground. "you're stronger than you look, but not stronger than me."
Next to the door, Katie, Sadie, and Noah watched the fight, cowering in fear.
"Noah please, stop them," said Katie while hugging Sadie.
"Stop them? They already hit me for just standing around. If I try to stop them, they'll kill meaahhh!" Noah screamed and covered his head as a chair flew over his head, "See!"
As they discussed, someone entered the cafeteria.
"GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!" shouted Izzy, making a big grin. She then avoided a tray flying toward her. "Hey! The forecast didn't mention any chance of raining kitchenware."
Katie and Sadie looked at her with wide eyes.
"Izzy please you need to stop them," said Katie, lowering her head.
"Yes, it's a matter of time before one of them gets seriously hurt," said Sadie, bowing in the same way as Katie.
Izzy sighed. "I can't believe you can't stop a simple fight like this. Just give me a minute." The redhead ran outside the room.
In the center of the cafeteria Eva and Courtney were glaring at each other. Both had their hair disheveled and some scratches on their arms and legs. Courtney's sweater was ripped while Eva had a cut on her lower lip. Both were holding a chair's leg as a weapon.
"I accept you have guts, but you'll regret this," said Eva, cleaning the blood on her chin with her hand.
"I told you to leave me alone," said Courtney, her eyes bloodshot. She ran and tried to hit Eva with her improvised club, the European girl blocking it.
Then both were tackled by a table and slammed against a wall.
"Jeg ba deg slutte å slåss," said Helga, glaring at them with red eyes, slamming them with the table once more, and pinning them.
"You again? I told you to stop sticking your nose into our business," said Eva, pushing the table.
Courtney also helped, and in a moment, both were free. Courtney used the moment to punch Eva again in the face, but before Eva could hit her back, she had to avoid Helga's attack.
"Kan vi ikke snakke som siviliserte mennesker?" asked Helga in a harsh tone, looking first at Courtney and then at Eva.
"And I told you to stop meddling before you end up getting hurt," said Eva, who was huffing and puffing.
"Now you act as if you don't want to hurt her," said Courtney in a snarky tone.
Eva scoffed. "Obviously, because the only one I want to hurt it's you."
"And I'm tired of always being the one that gets hurt. Prepare yourself," Courtney hit her hand with her fist.
As this happened, Izzy entered the room, carrying a couple of fire extinguishers.
"With this, we can cool them down," said Izzy, holding one of the extinguishers with both hands.
Noah looked at her with wide eyes. "Be careful. Spraying an extinguisher to a person's face can be dangerous."
"Ahaha, I know silly, I have already been there and did that," Izzy took one of the heavy extinguishers and threw it against the quarreling girls. "STOP FIGHTING!"
Eva, Courtney, and Helga avoided the heavy steel object that made a dent in the ground.
"WHAT THE HELL IZZY!" shouted Eva, glaring at the redhead.
"ARE YOU CRAZY? You could kill someone with that," shouted Courtney, putting a hand over her chest.
"Du kjemper i hvert fall ikke lenger," said Helga, shaking the dirt off her clothes.
Izzy raised both arms. "Let's calm down a little. I'm a pro extinguisher thrower, so it was a calculated risk," Eva and Courtney glared at Izzy, who continued talking, "so tell me, why are you destroying our cafeteria?"
"It was this annoying and loud traitor wench's fault. She attacked me first," said Eva folding her arms.
"I told you to leave me alone! You're the one that has been…" Courtney suddenly stopped talking. "What's that sound?"
Eva tilted her head, "yes, there is a hissing sound."
"Ahaha, Don't be silly, there aren't snakes around here, or are they?"
"It's not a snake. It's more like … a leak?" Courtney, Eva, and Noah's eyes widened when they realized what that sound was.
"The extingushie-"
But before Noah could end his sentence, the extinguisher base broke up and exploded. The steel body was propelled like a projectile by the pressured foam inside it, flying directly against Helga.
"NOOOO!"
Eva, Courtney, and the BFFFLs tried to run toward the intern, but luckily, the extinguisher didn't hit her, passing inches away from Helga's head and hitting the roof.
"Phew, I was sure it would hit her," said Noah, drying the sweat from his forehead.
"Ahaha, of course not, I told you I'm an expert. It was a calculated risk," said Izzy, her voice sounding mechanical.
Helga also sighed, but then the roof collapsed over her.
"NOOOO!" shouted Courtney, who, with Eva and the BFFFLs ran to help the intern.
"I guess we jinxed it," said Izzy, patting Noah's shoulder.
"No, you jinxed it throwing the extinguisher," Noah sighed and shook his head. "Chef is going to kill us."
It was already nighttime, and the cafeteria was closed after the incident. Cody was at the tables next to the pool with Justin, Tyler, Noah, Beth, Katie, and Sadie. Izzy left to not spend time with a certain liar.
"I can't believe all that happened while I took Cody his breakfast," said Beth covering her mouth.
"Because you spend like 3 hours with him after taking his breakfast, lunch, or dinner?" asked Noah raising an eyebrow.
Beth blushed. "I just enjoy his company too much."
Cody made a concerned smile, not knowing what to say.
"So in the end, they brought someone to repair the cafeteria, and whatever was her name was taken to the hospital?" asked Justin raising an eyebrow.
"Her name is Helga. It's such a shame, her recipes were so unique," said Tyler sighing.
Justin shrugged. "The interns change so often that I don't make an effort to memorize their names anymore."
"You wouldn't memorize them even if they stayed," said Noah squinting at the model.
"Touché," said Justin shrugging. "It was about time you praised me."
"It wasn't a praise, idiot," Noah glared at Justin, while the model glared back at him.
"Going back to Helga, that handsome paramedic told us she broke her collarbone. So she needs to remain in the hospital for the time being," said Sadie in an excited tone.
Katie nodded, "Yes he was really fit and kind."
"Was he more handsome than me?" asked Justin, raising his eyebrows.
"Of course not," said both BFFFLs and Beth at the same time.
Justin smiled, his teeth sparkling. "I knew it."
"I think we aren't focusing on the important part of the conversation," whispered Tyler to Noah.
"As always," said Noah rolling his eyes and drinking from his coffee.
Cody looked around. "By the way, where is Courtney? I thought she would be around."
"Courtney?" asked Beth, frowning. "Why are you asking about her?"
"I was just curious. She was the one that found the wheelchair so I wanted to talk with her," said Cody, ignoring Beth's attitude.
Sadie frowned. "She locked herself in her room after Noah bullied her."
"*cough* I didn't bully her," Noah coughed, almost choking with his coffee.
"Don't lie Noah, you did it," said Katie, putting her hands on her hips.
Sadie nodded. "Yes, You told her Duncan, and the rest voted for her."
"Because they did," said Noah rolling his eyes. "If she was eliminated without a tiebreaker, that means she was blindsided, and those three seem like the best candidates to do that."
"Yes, but saying Duncan betrayed her was too cruel," said Katie shaking her head.
Beth and Tyler gasped, the brunette girl pointed at the genius. "Noah, that was really mean. You can't do that."
"Why? It's good she starts realizing how the real world works," said Noah shrugging.
"Yes, but saying the boy she likes betrayed her was too mean-spirited," said Beth, folding her arms.
Cody nodded. "Yes dude, also there is a chance he didn't vote for her. Maybe he voted for someone else, and they ended in a 3-2-1 votation."
"Why is everyone treating me like the villain? I didn't vote for her," Noah said in a harsh tone. "Also we'll find out the day after tomorrow when the episode with her elimination is aired, so let's stop speculating."
"I can't believe it but I agree with him. This ugly discussion about treasons and whatnot isn't good for my skin," said Justin shaking his head.
"Ok, let's stop here," said Sadie, who then looked at Noah. "But you should apologize."
Noah's jaw dropped. "What? Why? For telling the truth?"
"No, for saying the truth tactless," said Beth, glaring at the genius.
"Yes Noah, at least try to make her feel better," said Katie, folding her arms.
Noah stood up and walked back to the resort. "You know something, I'm tired. Let's talk tomorrow." And before any could reply, he went inside.
"He ran away," smirked Cody "and I thought he was lazy."
"He's just good at making excuses and annoying others, just ignore him," said Justin, shrugging. "I'll also go to sleep, see ya."
After a moment, the other former competitors also went to sleep. It had been a long day, and everyone needed to rest.
Katie and Sadie were in front of the former's room and looked at room 6G.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" asked Sadie, her eyes fixed on the other door.
"She may ignore us," replied Katie, pouting.
Sadie nodded, "but I want to try. I don't like her, but she's completely alone."
"Let's go," said Katie, her expression turning into a radiant smile. "At least we should try."
The BFFFLs ran toward the room and knocked on the door, and to their surprise, the door opened but what they found wasn't what they expected.
Courtney opened the door. She was dressed in pink underwear she used as pajamas, her hair was disheveled, her eyes puffy, including her hurt black eye, and you could see teeth marks on her lower lip. She forced a smile before greeting the best friends.
"Hello Katie and Sadie. How can I help you?" Courtney's voice was low and tired, completely different from her usual loud tone.
"We wanted to see how you were doing because you didn't eat dinner," said Sadie, folding her arms.
"I wasn't hungry so I skipped dinner," said Courtney shrugging, "I have a lot to think about."
Katie frowned, "Are you ok? You seem awful."
"No, I'm not ok," said Courtney, shrugging. "I'm just an idiot."
"No you aren't," said Sadie shaking her head. "I mean yes, you sometimes are jerkish, conceited, self-righteous, unfair…"
"You're really comforting me…" said Courtney, frowning.
"What I mean is that you can't let something Noah said affect you like this," said Sadie, focusing.
Katie nodded. "Yes, you can't be sure the boys really voted against you."
"How do you know what Noah told me?" asked Courtney, her voice raising to her usual volume.
"Sadie told me."
"Yes, I told her. I mean it's not like a secret or anything."
"No I guess no," said Courtney, pouting. "But Noah's right. That's the only logical way I could be eliminated."
"You can't be sure of that," said Katie, holding Courtney's hands.
"Yes, Maybe the vote was divided," said Sadie, also holding her hands.
Courtney looked at them with a conflicted expression. She didn't want to hold their hands but somehow that made her feel better. "Thanks, but that isn't possible. The guys vote together."
"Yes, but maybe Duncan voted for Bridgette," said Sadie nodding. "They never liked each other."
"Why do you mention that ogre?" said Courtney, her eyes wide in surprise. "I-I don't care about him or how he voted on the elimination."
Katie and Sadie looked at each other, smiling.
"Anyway you have to trust, don't give up," said Katie nodding.
"Yes, the day after tomorrow they'll show us the episode in which you were eliminated. You'll find out who voted for who," said Sadie fist pumping.
Katie nodded, "there is no use getting depressed beforehand."
For the first time in the conversation Courtney smiled. "Y-you're right. I mean, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Maybe something happened and the votes weren't as it seems."
"Yes that's the attitude," said Sadie, clapping.
"Just believe in Duncan. I'm sure he didn't vote for you," said Katie also clapping.
Courtney blushed. "It's not as if I care for that ogre." She then sighed and smiled. "Thank girls, I was in a really … you helped me a lot."
"Don't worry, that what teammates are for," said Katie waving her hand.
"It's more like ex-teammates no?" said Sadie raising an eyebrow.
"Oh my gosh Sadie, you're right as always," Katie hugged her BFFFL, "I'm so lucky to have you as my BFFFL."
"Well girls, thanks for everything. Let's talk tomorrow," Courtney bowed and closed the door.
Katie and Sadie waved at Courtney and then went back to the former's room.
"Sadie, we totally did the right thing."
"What a coincidence I was thinking the same thing."
"We are like on the same wavelength."
"EEEEEEEEE!"
The BFFFLS squeed, awakening all the girls on the floor, however Courtney found their scream not as annoying as before. In fact, she was happy to hear them.
The next day passed quickly. Courtney and Eva avoided each other, Justin and Izzy avoided each other, and Tyler and Beth avoided each other, but they did it by coincidence. It was a peaceful day.
At night all the 10 eliminated contestants were in the lobby waiting for the boat of losers. Cody was in his wheelchair next to Beth and Noah. There was some tension in the air, but Eva didn't attack Courtney, just growled at her now and then. And Izzy was too entertained talking with the BFFFLs to notice Justin.
"I wonder who will be eliminated?" said Tyler, folding his arms. "I hope it isn't Lindsay."
"Nor Gwen," said Cody, putting his hands over his head.
"Why Gwen?" asked Beth in a harsh tone.
"Because she's my friend," replied Cody, in a lower tone.
"Are you replying or you're asking her?" said Noah in his snarky tone.
Then someone entered the lobby. His loud breathing made everyone know who he was.
"Wow, I didn't expect this kind of reception," said Harold, cleaning his glasses. "Hello, fellow losers."
"Harold?" Asked Tyler, "that means the Basses lose again?"
Harold nodded, making a big grin. "Yes, we lose, but it was worth it."
"Welcome to playa des losers, traitor," Eva walked toward him and hit him on the abdomen. "From today onwards you'll pay for eliminating me."
"Ugh, my gallbladder," said Harold, falling to the ground in pain.
"STOP THERE EVA!" shouted Courtney. "You can't attack every Bass that is eliminated. That's exactly the reason why we voted for you in the first place."
Eva cracked her knuckles. "So you want to take his place? I don't care if it's you or him."
But before any of them could make a move, a fire extinguisher almost hit them.
"HEY! If you want to play count me in," said Izzy, her eyes sparkling. "I love a good fight like anyone else."
Eva scoffed. "Whatever, I'm tired of these idiots. I'll go to sleep."
"You're such a bore Eve," said Izzy, putting her hands on her hips. "What do you say Court, want to fight?"
"First call me Courtney, not Court, we aren't that close," said Courtney, folding her arms. "And second, stop throwing extinguishers like that. Did you forget what happened to Helga?"
Izzy chuckled. "Ahaha, c'mon Helga was hurt by the roof, not the extinguisher."
Harold stood up and shook the dirt off his pants. "By the way, Chef asked me to inform all of you that the new intern is coming tomorrow and to be careful with them."
"Ahaha that Cheffy, he loves to joke around," said Izzy, covering her mouth.
"Joke? I have seen 2 different interns leave the island since I arrived," said Cody, raising both eyebrows.
Noah scoffed. "Two would be a great number."
"Well, I need my beauty sleep. I´ll go to my room," said Justin, standing up and stretching his arms in a beautiful way.
Everyone followed his example except Tyler and Courtney, who stood behind to talk with Harold.
"By the way Harold," Courtney bit her lip before continuing. "I wanted to know, now that both of us are eliminated, did you vote for me?"
Harold blanched at her question. "O-Of course not, I voted for Duncan," he lied, not wanting to be hit again.
"Oh…" Courtney hurt expression was something he didn't expect, "Thanks Harold, have a good night."
The redhead hesitated about stopping her but in the end decided to let her go.
"Well, let me show you to your room," said Tyler winking, "this place is awesome."
"Y-yes, it seems like it," replied Harold forcing a smile.
The nerd sighed, this wasn't what he expected. A luxurious resort with the eliminated contestants and Courtney. At least it seemed she didn't know he fixed the votes. And he had the memories of LeShawna, which helped him forget about that and sleep that night. Not suspecting what would happen the next days.
Harold has arrived, and the situation on the island isn't good. There is some tension between the different ex-contestants, and there is also an unexpected surprise waiting for them.
Only a reminder, the characters watch the episode with their elimination the day after the next contestant returns, so they don't know Harold fixed the votes against Courtney. Talking of the CIT, I decided to start showing her as the Courtney after island, and then how she will be turning into the person you saw in total drama, drama, drama island.
Also thanks to all the reviewers, you really help to keep my motivation. And to all of you reading the story and ejoying it please leave a review, or at leas mark it as a favorite, so I can know you're having a good time. So before closing let me answer last week reviews:
gman5846: You were right, Courtney went crazy in this episode, but not exactly right, she still don't' know about Harold betrayal.
danifan3000: I tried a different approach with Courtney, that is, try to be different and little by little become a worse version of herself. Thanks in part to Duncan's influence but also to her own demons. You would see sas the series advance.
Guest: Nope, Harold will live a few more chapters. At least until Courtney finds out.
MatiasND: eh? Why are you so sure Helga will have an accident XD. Now seriously her quirk even if annoying to the other campers, doesn't seem dangerous per se.
Now Courtney has more problems than Eva, and just when the BFFFLs where trying to help her.
Total simaniac: Yes, New York arc is over (more less) and now the BFFFLs are trying to befriend Eva. But the female bully is more focused in gave Courtney a nice welcome.
About Harold, the issue is that Courtney doesn't know yet she was cheated out of the game. But she will find out XD. Helga did what she could but she was just in the wrong fight.
Now Ezekiel is still lost, but don't worry, I'm sure Chef and Chris are doing everything they can to find him XD
Thanks for reading and I hope you like it.
