"Interesting." A voice said, making notes as he pressed on a button which made a beaker of a clear chemical go into a huge tube that held the piece of monster that the Powerpuff girls caught. When the clear liquid came into contact with the monster flesh, his eyes widened when the flesh started to get bigger and morph, stopping when it absorbed the entire chemical.

"Hmm. As expected." The man nodded and wrote on his clipboard before he pressed another button which made a beaker of orange fluid be put into the tube which made the flesh smaller, a burning sound echoing through the room as parts of the flesh started to burn, Mr. Utonium slightly impressed by the reaction. He then sat down in his spinning chair, in deep concentration as he typed on his computer before he leaned back in his chair. "That is odd."

He then made a call, tapping his fingers on the metallic table that he had as he patiently waited until he heard a click. "Good day, Mayor!"

"Why hello, Professor? How do you do?" A jovial voice answered at the other end of the call, the Professor chuckling as he heard some sounds in the background of a cat. "Milkshake, don't go there!"

"Mayor. Did you give the go ahead to the Monster Elimination Project half a year ago?"

"Oh yes! I did! Haven't we, Ms. Bellum?" He moved from the phone, the professor hearing a shuffling of papers until he heard the mayor came back. "Aha! Here it is. I stamped it and everything. It was my favorite stamp too."

"How's the project going?" The professor asked, the mayor answering immediately. "It's showing to be going smoothly but they said it's a slow process. The chemicals are working but they're saying it's not enough."

"Hmm, odd." The professor answered, pressing another button that cut a huge chunk of the flesh. He then separated them then dump two beakers of solution that quickly dissolved the flesh within minutes. "How long do they say the chemical takes before dissolving the flesh?"

"Can't say. They all provide different time but if according to Ms. Bellum, it is up to days before a chunk of flesh gets disintegrated." Hearing this, Mr. Utonium nodded his head before he pressed another button which opened a cabinet, the man taking out a suitcase that was filled with multiple canisters of the solution that he used. "Alright, I understand. Just let me know the place and the project leader's phone number. I have more canisters of the chemical so I can give it to them."

The Mayor hummed before they both said their goodbyes and ended the call, the professor taking out the suitcases and putting them in his vehicle when he received the number on his phone from the Mayor.

'The monster's blood is contaminated. A form of nuclear chemical which we have found the solution for a while. Their population should be depleted by now with the rate that the chemical dissolve their cells. Something is amiss.' As he was about to go to his vehicle to drive it, it exploded which knocked the man back. the man looked on as his car was engulfed in flames, quickly dashing to the side of his house to get a hose as he took out a small canister from his labcoat pocket and then threw it at the vehicle while shooting out the water. The combination did the job, the water hitting the canister which made it transform into a foam-like substance that doused the flames. Walking to the car, he saw that everything was destroyed, including the suitcases that he put into the trunk of the car.

"No...the canisters..." He said when he checked in the trunk, letting out a sigh of relief when he saw that the suitcase is safe. "Good thing I made the suitcase bombproof."

Taking out the suitcases, he went back into the house before he called the police and car dealers who came an hour afterwards. While the Professor was explaining his situation to the police, a silhouette was on top of a roof watching the events unfold before they went to their pouch, a hand grabbing their arm.

"What are you doing, Smoke?" The cloaked figure shouted at the figure in the grey ninja outfit who is known as Smoke. Smoke sighed, her eyes looking at the scene before her partner let go of her hand. "Mr. Utonium was not on our target list. We were given strict orders to avoid harming him."

The two then vanished immediately in a cloud of smoke, leaving a worried crowd of people who surrounded the Professor's house. After the day was done, the man went into his laboratory, putting down his suitcases before he thought aloud. "We implemented this solution to this by putting this orange liquid to the place that they usually spawn. And it worked wonders, that place is now barren of monsters and now being constructed into a mall or something. I'd expected they would adapt to the chemical but it doesn't seem like such. There is no change in their activity. In fact, they are increasing more. The girls can handle so much and this constant activity is making them more tired."

"What is going on?" The man crossed his arms, putting his fingers on his chin before he picked up a file. "I need to get to the bottom of this."

A few days afterwards, an explosion suddenly happened within the city of Townsville, the Powerpuff girls immediately sprang into action, Blossom freezing the first couple of monsters while Buttercup charged into the rest, sending them to a deserted part of the city. During their bout, Bubbles was helping the civilians, destroying some of the rubble and throwing them into the creatures nearby. After saving the people, she quickly kicked a gigantic crocodile in its face which made it spat out a puppy.

"Oh no! Puppy!" Bubbles shouted before she dashed and caught the animal. then flying to the ground, letting out a giggle as she put down the puppy.

"Goodbye, little doggy!" She waved before she heard a crash, seeing Blossom and Buttercup being thrown into a building. Seeing a bird-like monster dashing towards the two girls, Bubbles quickly flew in front of the avian before she let out a powerful Sonic scream that made it disorientated, the blonde then followed up with a kick that sent it into a building then went to her sisters. "Are you guys ok?"

"No, teacher. I already solved the problem." Blossom said with a dazed expression while Bubbles lifted Buttercup who was stuck head first in the building. "Butters, you still there?"

"Yeah. Just need a minute. The sky is spinning."

"Got it!" The blonde said before dashing towards the army of monsters, landing a drop kick on one then beating up the rest of them. During her assault, she got grabbed by a dinosaur like creature and was about to be thrown to the ground but Blossom froze its arm which made Bubbles be able to break out of its grip, the two of them then launching lasers at the other creatures. As they were fighting, they were attacked by a giant squid who grabbed them, its mouth about to glow until Buttercup landed a kick that sent it into a building.

"Why don't you try it again, the ugly octopus?!" She grinned before she charged a green ball. As the monsters came towards her, she shot a blast that vaporized most of the creatures until the beam subsided. Not giving the monsters the chance to move or recover, Blossom and Bubbles worked together and grabbed the remaining creatures in the city then sent them into the water. They were about to finish off their enemies until the monsters vanished in a blink, the trio looking around in confusion when they no longer see the creatures again.

"What the? Where did they go?" Buttercup said in shock, searching around the place only to see the damage done by their battle. Bubbles went into the water, swimming through the Townsville with glowing eyes only to be rewarded with failure when she was finished. "I can't find them. They're gone."

"How did they disappear so suddenly? No sound. No rumbling. It's like they came out of no where." Blossom said with a worried tone before they went towards their home. Buttercup's belly started growling which made her sped forward. "Let's hope the Professor made some food because I feel like I could eat a horse."

While they continuing their conversation, Bubbles noticed a shiny object coming towards them before she moved out of the way of an object, another came which Blossom caught, the redhead inspecting the star-shaped bladed item. "What is this?"

"Woah, cool! These are shurikens!" Buttercup explained enthusiastically as she grabbed the weapon out of Blossom's hand and looked at it. "Ninjas use these! They throw them like stones and they cut stuff! It's so cool! I'm so taking this as a souvenir!"

"You really need to chill out with those ninja movies, Buttercup." Blossom put a hand on her forehead while Bubbles started giggled at her two sisters. As Bubbles looked up, her eyes widened when she saw someone behind Blossom who was about to attack her. She quickly shot a laser which seemed to hit the person who exploded into a cloud of smoke, Bubbles unable to see them until she saw the person descending towards Buttercup.

"Get away!" The blonde screamed, sending a huge soundwave that knocked the person back into a wall. Blossom and Buttercup then turned to see no one, about to ask Bubbles what was happening until they saw someone behind the blonde, Buttercup dashed forward and tackled the figure into the wall. Not missing a beat, she attacked with a flurry of punches.

"Haha! How do you like..." She paused, seeing nothing where the figure is, the other two looking around. "...that?"

"She vanquished!" Bubbles said shockingly, Blossom patting her roughly on the head. "Vanished. And keep alert, girls! They could still be around!"

Buttercup searched the place until she got smacked into a wall, the collision alerting her sisters. Blossom could not get the chance to react when she noticed some marbles on the floor, her eyes widened before she grabbed her sisters and took to the air when the marbles exploded. "Those were bombs?!"

While this was happening, Bubbles pushed them out of the way when a few more shuriken passed them, the hair on her skin standing up before a ball exploded behind the trio. "Woah!"

"Where did they go?" They looked around until something wrapped around Bubbles' leg then dragged her to the ground. Buttercup dashed towards her sister before she got hit by a pellet that exploded into a pink slime that entangled around her, making her immobile. "What the heck is this?"

Bubbles then shot a laser that burnt the string connected to her leg before she got up and jumped, dodging a few shurikens aimed for her. She then flew towards Buttercup, trying to free her until they heard a sound behind them, seeing the ninja coming towards them. Before the person could attack them, Blossom blew a gust of cold wind that managed to freeze the person in spot, the girls seeing a masked individual who was in a ninja outfit stuck in ice.

"Woah! It was actually a ninja! That's so cool!" Buttercup gleamed, Blossom freezing the goo that she is covered in then broke it. "Buttercup, we need to think less about the ninja and more about how to beat them."

The trio then noticed that they were surrounded by smoke, the three getting knocked around, unable to see their enemy who managed to knock Bubbles to the wall then slam Blossom and Buttercup to the ground. This beatdown continued, the girls suffered a few blows until they noticed marbles on the floor, Bubbles' eyes widened.

"Run away!" Bubbles shouted as they quickly flew into the air, Buttercup seeing the ninja leaping by the buildings towards them before she punched them as soon as it leaped towards the blonde. When the figure quickly recovered and disappeared in a cloud of smoke, the Powerpuff girls stayed afloat with their backs against each other while looking around the place for their silent foe. "Girls! You find anything?"

"You won't if you're looking at the wrong direction." The girls turn to see the figure on the pole above one of the buildings. Tired of the person's antics, Buttercup immediately lunged towards them but the ninja dodged which made her end up colliding into a wall. Pulling herself out of the rubble and continuing to attack, Buttercup was rewarded with failure when the person evaded and blocked her strikes until she went for a charged punch, the person jumping over her before hitting her with a backhand.

"Oh! That's it!" She gritted her teeth then charged towards the ninja who moved out of the way which made her crash into the wall. Getting up, Buttercup hopped off the wall and went on the offensive, the ninja dodging until they were hit by a wave of ice that froze part of their body. Bubbles then dashed and was about to punch the ninja but she was flipped onto her back, dodging a blade that went for her head before sending a huge Sonic Scream. After she stopped her attack, she, along with the rest of the sisters, was surprised when their enemy vanished. "How on planet Earth..."

"They're gone." Blossom said as the three of them flew into the air and found nothing. Unaware of the cloaked figure watching them, the man writing notes on his notepad before he went back into his shadow.

"Don't worry. You'll see us again. For the last time."

"Woohoo!" Butch said as he was skating on the water, holding onto a rope, Brick snickering as he saw him fall into the water. During this, Boomer was sketching on the top of the aircraft, speaking with birds as he was drawing with his fingers, his arms feeling a bit better as he is able to move them more freely. Brick, however, was looking ahead with his eyes periodically checking on Lily.

"It's been days since we're out here but nothing." Lily said while eating an apple, checking through the navigator unaware of the redhead's glare. They then heard a slap, seeing Butch being launched into the air by a dolphin before he plummeted into the ocean.

"I'm ok!" He came out of the water, Boomer flying to him and pulling him out of the sea before he pushed him. "Boomer, I'm ok!"

"Oh, sorry." Boomer backed off as the two flew back to the aircraft. After a while, they all lost their balance when the ship collided into something, Lily raising a brow when she checked through the window and then the navigator. "What the? Is the thing busted?"

"What's happening?" Brick asked, Boomer descending from the roof while Butch dries himself off. They then felt another shake, Boomer looking around in alert which Brick noticed before he flew into the direction, reaching the back of the ship. The redhead was unable to find anything until he saw something in the distance. "Hey, boys. We got company!"

"Perrrfect." Butch grinned evilly as he floated into the air. Meanwhile, Lily tried to open the compartment and checking the engine only to see everything is functional. "This is weird. The ship is working at tip top shape."

Boomer then flew forward, looking at the damage outside of the aircraft until he hit his face into something, rubbing his nose which made Lily lift a brow. "Ow! What was that?"

He then felt the air again, coming into contact with something invisible before he then got blasted back by an electric blast, knocking him into the water. Lily immediately reversed the aircraft from the invisible wall, Brick and Butch seeing lightning emitting from the barrier. "Woah! What is going on?"

"Wait! We're trapped! Someone put us in some sort of force field." She said with wide eyes before she turned the ship and steer out of the way, barely avoiding a blast that hit an invisible wall. "So it is a shield."

"Who cares? We're gonna kick butt! And break it!" Butch said, shaking with excitement before they all saw a laser beam ripping through some of the battleships, the group looking at Boomer. "Let's go."

"Let's get them, boys!" The three boys sprung into action, Butch laughing as he charged into multiple jets, destroying them. Brick sped towards them, shooting a huge fireball at a bunch of jets until he got hit by a bolt of electricity which sent him into the ocean. Seeing this, Boomer dashed towards the fleet only to barely dodge a lightning ball which hit the ocean.

"What the heck?"

"Oh! I need to protect the aircraft." Lily said while before she reversed and moved away so that she does not get hit by any stray thunderbolts. Seeing the center of the lightning field, the boy soared into the air before he dodged a few more blast before he crashed into a barrier.

"Ow…" He rubbed his head until he noticed a man on top of a huge aircraft. The man wiped some dirt on his face, his black hair sticking out at the bottom of his chrome helmet, the man wearing a blue armor with golden thunderbolts around the chest area however what got the boy's attention is his silver gauntlets which are sparkling with electricity.

"Greetings, young Boomer!" The man bowed before his hands glowed intensely as he shot an lightning blast that sent the boy into the invisible wall. "And goodbye."

"Now-" He was interrupted when he received a punch that sent him into the air, the man seeing Butch rushing towards him. He then shot a blast which the green ruff took head on but it did not slow him down. Butch then tried to punch him with the man dodged before he grabbed the boy by his hand and then electrocuted which Butch was barely able to endure until the man punched him back with a smile.

"You're gonna have to try better than that, old man!" Butch wiped his blood from his mouth before he lunged towards the armored man who outstretched his hand.

"With pleasure." He then shot a ball of electricity that electrocuted the boy which knocked out Butch, the raven haired boy falling into the ocean. Upon seeing him, Lilyy's eyes went as wide as plates when she saw the man, her mouth muttering his name. "General Bertrand…"

Brick grabbed his brother out of the ocean and was about to take him to Lily but as soon as he looked up, General Bertrand was hovering over him before he kicked the boy. Brick then tried to use laser vision but it failed when he took two more blows, deciding to shoot a stream of flames from his mouth.

"Such outstanding power." A hand came out of the flames and covered Brick's mouth, lifting him in the air as the boy tried flailing about. "But it's nothing compared to my armor."

"LILY!" He shouted, turning to the woman who was trying to find any way through her box to get out of the situation. '…just hold on a little more…'

Unable to find anything except for a flash bang, the woman clicked her tongue as she hid the weapon and got to the outside of her ship. General Bertrand looked at the woman with a disappointed expression. "What is the meaning of this?"

"Why don't we talk about this?" Lily pleaded, her eyes darting around the place in panic as the man then knocked out Brick with one blast before letting them go and crossing his arms. "Alright then. First question: why are you siding with the enemy?"

The man then descended towards the woman with his arms behind his back, his grey eyes coldly staring at her which made Lily frightened. "Speak, Ms. Platinum. I don't have all day."

"What is the reason for all this? The boys don't seem to be causing trouble and they can be taught to be better. The same can be said for the Powerpuff Girls. If they can be disciplined then we don't have any reason to kil-"

"And Ms. Platinum. Orders are orders. We have no time or reason for sentimental values. The boss wants them dead, they're gonna be six feet under." General Bertrand stated with an emotionless expression on his face, the woman's eyes widened until she heard crazed laughter, turning to see a man who had messed up brown hair and golden eyes, dressed in a dirtied lab coat as he pressed a button which made mechanical arms come out of his coat and grab Brick and Butch.

"That's how it is, Lily! You don't have to try having the moral high ground!" The man shouted while laughing as he dangled the two boys by their legs. Upon seeing the man, Lily gritted her teeth and sneered at the man. "Carver…"

"Greeting, Lily. I see the years have been well for you." Carver said as he pulled a green glowing and put it to Butch's neck, drawing blood. "But you know that helping our enemies is a huge no-no, right?"

Before anyone could do anything, a blast destroyed Carver's mechanical arms, a blue blur catching Brick and Butch which caught the general's attention. "What was that?"

"The little boy!" Lily said as Boomer took his brother into the air, General Bertrand chasing after him, shooting lightning blasts which Boomer were able to dodge. The blonde then used his eye lasers were stopped by Bertrand's barrier, the boy suffered a punch to the stomach before he was flung to the water, able to stop himself and his brothers. Looking up, he moved to the side to dodge a huge lightning ball before a few more followed as he darted his way through the mountains.

"It's no use running." Bertrand shot a barrage of lightning bolts, one of them hitting Boomer which made him drop his brothers. Thinking quickly, Lily flew the aircraft to position it so that it can catch Butch and Brick, one of the lightning bolts clipping one of the wings. "Woah! At least the damage isn't too worrying!"

Boomer smiled before he turned to face an electrical blast that pushed him back, the electricity burning his sleeves and his cast before he noticed another hitting the aircraft.

"LEAVE US ALONE!" He shouted, the sound waves from his mouth fusing with the electricity which hit General Bertrand and the jets, sending the man flying into one of the jets while the rest started to explode except for the huge one that Carver is on, that one starting to descend. "What the hell? Boy, what did you do?"

Seeing the barrier starting to fade, Lily took her chance to grab a fatigued Boomer then flew out of the area as fast as the jet could muster. "The boy must've short circuited their equipment with that sound wave. Anyways, I don't care as long as we're out."

As they all went on their way, Bertrand flew towards them at an astonishing speed, Lily seeing him before she threw her flashbang, the item blowing up in his face and blinding him, giving the woman enough time to leave. After a few minutes, Bertrand was able to regain his sight, seeing no sign of their targets before he flew over to Carver who was fixing their aircraft. "I failed. I let them got away."

"It's ok. We have all the time in the world. We know this area like the back of our hand. Let's go." They went back into the aircraft which immediately whirred to life before Carver turned to the direction Lily left, pressing a button which showed a glowing dot moving away from them.

"Run all you want, Lily. I'll find you." The man grinned evilly as they started the battleship, the man then sat down and took out a toolbox to fix his destroyed mechanical arms. 'To think, Lily would be helping the targets. Well, that bleeding heart of hers will be her undoing.'

Finishing his arms as the jet is moving, he pressed his hand on the glass, his smile getting bigger as he took out two black guns from the toolbox.

"I'll crush you this time, bitch!"

"It's good to be home!" Professor Utonium sighed in relief as he got home, going into the kitchen to put down the groceries on the counter. "Man, to think that Townsville would experience an increase in monster activity. It's almost as if someone is keeping us busy. They even had to make emergency maneuvers and make us use the underground system to get through."

After taking a glass of water and resting for some minutes, the Professor then entered the lab, about to check on the piece of monster flesh that his daughters got until he noticed some of the lab equipment being destroyed. "What happened?"

When he checked the rest of the lab, his eyes widened in shock as his eyes laid on the chamber that the flesh was in, the man seeing the chamber destroyed in pieces and the flesh missing, much to his dismay.

"It's not just this, all the information, experiments and notes I've made on the monster activity…destroyed." The man looked around the room, falling to the ground on his knees before he noticed a slash mark on the floor.

"Who did this?"
