Gone Picnicking: A parody of Jellyfishing from SpongeBob SquarePants with Total Drama characters.
Disclaimer for the series: Some (though far from all) chapters will contain moments of nudity or underwear due to the canon SpongeBob episodes' plots and gags, though it won't be anything that wouldn't happen in TD or SpongeBob. Credits to another user on FF for letting us use their idea, and another for their cast idea who wishes to remain anonymous. Some episodes may also take massive strays from canon in order for things to work. Feel free to leave a review if you enjoy it!
The sun rose, birds chirped, the wind blew, and the leaves were rustling. "Morning, little birdies!" Ella chirped. She pranced around the grassland, birds sweeping the air, making beautiful patterns to go with Ella's movement. "La da da dum dum." Ella began to vocalize. "Ba da da da dum." She hummed, the birds all circling her. "Da da da dum da." She continued.
The princess paused in her dancing and allowed a bird to land on her finger. "Oh, hello there, little friend! Care for a song?" The bird chirped happily, which Ella took as a yes.
"Such a beautiful place with all the birds and fauna! A wonderful place to be with someone who might wanna!" She rhymed. The bird on her finger chattered contently again and flew off, leaving Ella with a smile on her face. "Speaking of which, I wonder if anyone around would like to join me today!" She got out her picnic supplies and knelt down. As she did, her neighbor Noah was passing by.
"Oh, good morning, Noah!" Ella called. "Would you care to enjoy a picnic with me?" She invited in her sweet way. Noah simply huffed. "Yeah, sure, sitting out in the baking sun with my neighbor. What fun. Perfect way to spend my day off."
The songbird seemed to miss the sarcasm. "Perfect!"
The bookworm scoffed again, seemingly used to this. "That was sarcastic, princess." He remarked.
"Oh… Well, maybe next time then? Tomorrow maybe?" The singer offered.
"Yeah, I think I'll pass." Noah declined, and he promptly left. Ella just looked down and went to get her things. "It's a shame Noah isn't interested in joining me." She mentioned as she went home.
The next morning Noah was sitting at his desk, reading away as usual. All of a sudden, he heard some smacking sounds. "What's with the pounding there?" He rudely asked the men below. "Oh yeah, we got a call about an infestation of wasps, you might wanna leave." One of them warned.
Noah rolled his eyes. "Why wasn't I told before?" He asked. "We told your landlord to call you and get you out." Another pest control man informed. Noah looked at his phone, which he had put on silent, saw the missed call, and just sighed. "Alright, I'll just go." He relented, defeated.
As he walked out of the building brooding, two of his neighbors came to greet him. "Why good morning, Noah!" Ella greeted. "Morning, buddy!" Owen whooped.
"It's completely fine if you haven't, but have you changed your mind about the picnic today?" The princess re-invited.
"Well, it's either this or get stung by wasps all day." Noah snarked.
Ella simply flashed a smile. "Wonderful!" She gently wrapped her fingers around his arm and led him to the day she was hoping for. "I promise we're gonna have fun." She claimed. Noah could think a million ways of saying otherwise, but chose to hold his silence.
Soon we see Ella, Owen, and Noah all huddled around a blanket. "Okay then, Owen and Noah, I'd like to share something special with you two." She revealed in her cheery way.
"Great, is it gonna be another one of your greatest hits?" Noah sarcastically asked, referring to Ella's singing habit. "No, Noah, we'll get to that later, but first." And she pulled something out of her basket. "We need to get energy." And she showed her own sandwiches to the boys.
Owen's mouth was watering, while Noah was indifferent. "Feel free to take one each." She offered, placing them into each of their hands, Owen wasted no time in digesting his meal. "Thanks, Ella." He spluttered.
"No problem!" She replied, sitting down and pulling out a sandwich of her own. "And once we've eaten, we all can do some activities, such as looking at and talking about the birds and the bees!"
"Like you know what that means." Noah joked, making Owen snicker.
The songbird shrugged the comment and laughter off. "I'm sure it'll be one of the best days ever!"
After Ella and Noah had finished their own sandwiches (or in Noah's case, apathetically pecked at it for a while), the three were off exploring the fields.
"Who knows? Maybe we'll even be able to get some honey from one of the hives! If the bees are alright with it, of course!" Ella brought up.
"Mmm… Honey…" Owen craved, salivating soon after. "You sure you're not half bear?" Noah asked sarcastically.
Ella then looked up at a tree. "Oh! Speaking of which! Look!" Owen and Noah turned their gaze to the rather large hive dangling on a tree's branch. "Oh man, that looks delicious." Owen thought aloud with glee, Noah rolled his eyes.
"You know, I think I can hear the humming of the bees." Ella noted, but then, a snap was heard, then what happened next was certainly not a fine hour.
"AHH!" Noah screamed. The hive had fallen on him and he was running around like a chicken without its head. "Noah! It's okay, bees are usually quite nice." But no words got through the screeching the bookworm was making. Owen just cringed at the sight.
"Hold on, buddy!" He yelled as he ran to him. "Wait, Owen! What are you going to do?" Ella cried before watching Owen smack Noah into a lake with his gut.
One splash later, and Noah was brought out of the lake. "You okay, little buddy?" Owen asked with concern. All Noah could do was spit out water and shiver.
"If being okay is not being covered in bee stings, then I'm fine." He quipped with distaste in his voice as she squeezed water out of one of his shoes. "Oh, thank goodness. It would have really sucked if you got stung. That's the worst feeling ever." Owen lamented.
"Are you sure you don't need anything?" Ella checked.
"I'm fine." The know-it-all basically immediately responded.
"If you're sure, I suppose…" She then walked over to Owen and spoke low enough for only them to be able to hear what she was saying. "Yeah, sorry." Owen replied audibly.
The two then turned to the bookworm. "Well, Noah, it has been a fun day." The princess verbalized her thoughts. "But Owen and I would like to do a two person activity if you don't mind."
Noah seemed incredibly apathetic to this, as per usual. "Okay." was his simple reply.
"Bye, bye Noah. Have a good afternoon." She saw off, and she and Owen walked away for a little bit. Noah just sat there, the wind blowing and the sun setting. It was rather quiet. Soon enough, the two were far enough to be out of sight.
For the first time that day, Noah actually cracked a genuine smile. "Guess picnicking isn't too harmful." He'd finally gotten the peace and quiet that he wanted.
Soon after the events, they were ready to return to the apartment complex. "Boy, what a day." Owen commented. "I wonder how Noah's doing now."
As he and Ella left, the princess looked behind her and saw Noah smiling. "I think he's doing just fine." She assured with a smile of her own in the big guy's direction. "I'm happy the three of us got to spend time together, as neighbors."
A/N: In comparison to the last chapter, this may seem quite short, but this was another one that was hard to write for. We didn't want Noah to be punished just for saying that he didn't want to come like Squidward since we figured Ella would respect that, and it was also a bit far. The similarity to canon here was just that he still had to go with them, and the bees were kind of like the jellyfish. Again, though, Ella would not capture the bees, even just to let them go.
